Welcome, Zorua
The next morning at Lincoln and Sam's cabin, Lincoln was in his bed just starting to wake up a little. When he opens his eyes and looks around, he notices the Hisuian Zorua sleeping on his bed.
"What the..." Lincoln says, making the Hisuian Zorua wake up a little. When it sees Lincoln awake, it walks over to him and nuzzles his chest. Just then, Sam peeks into his room to check on him.
"Morning, little bro." said Sam before her eyes settle on the Hisuian Zorua.
"Morning, sis." said Lincoln as he continues to look at the Hisuian Zorua.
"What's that doing here?" asked Sam.
"I don't know." said Lincoln. "I just woke up and it was on my bed."
"Should we bring it back to Professor Rowan?" asked Sam.
"Let's have breakfast and shower first." said Lincoln. As he and Sam walk to the kitchen, they notice that the Hisuian Zorua was following after Lincoln.
"I think it likes you." said Sam.
"How come?" asked Lincoln.
"Maybe it remembers how you helped it yesterday?" replied Sam.
"Probably." said Lincoln. When he and Sam get to their kitchen, they start getting stuff ready for breakfast; Lincoln gets some bowls out and fills them with food and water for their Pokemon; plus the Hisuian Zorua.
Soon, everyone starts eating; as they do, the Hisuian Zorua looks at the strange food its probably never seen before with suspicion. Lincoln's Chimchar notices the Hisuian Zorua's behavior and holds some of his own food out to him and tells it that it's good. It was skeptical at first, but it soon tries it and immediately takes a liking to it; it starts eating from its own bowl with vigor.
"I think that Zorua likes it." said Sam with a smile.
"I wonder when the last time Zorua ate was." wondered Lincoln.
"No idea." said Sam. After everyone ate and the dishes were cleaned, they all got dressed and started heading for Professor Rowan's lab with the Hisuian Zorua following after Lincoln.
"Morning, everyone!" Dawn's voice calls out, making Sam and Lincoln look around and see her running over to them.
"Morning, Dawn." said Sam. Dawn then notices the Hisuian Zorua behind Lincoln.
"Isn't that Zorua supposed to be at Professor Rowan's lab?" asked Dawn.
"Yeah, Zorua was on my bed when I woke up this morning." said Lincoln.
"We're on our way to Professor Rowan's lab right now." said Sam.
"I'll come with, too." said Dawn. She, Lincoln, and Sam all start walking to Professor Rowan's lab; when they arrive, they enter it to see him looking under his desk.
"What's wrong, Professor Rowan?" asked Sam.
"I can't find our little guest." said Professor Rowan. "He wasn't here when I arrived this morning and I can't seem to locate him."
"If you mean the Zorua from yesterday; it's right behind Lincoln." said Sam, making Professor Rowan look to see that it was.
"Where was it?" asked Professor Rowan as he runs over and bends down to examine the Hisuian Zorua.
"It was in Lincoln's bed sleeping this morning." said Dawn.
"It seems that it has become attached to you, Lincoln." said Professor Rowan.
"I guess so." said Lincoln as the Hisuian Zorua nuzzles Lincoln's leg.
"We're sorry if that's gonna cause you trouble, sir." said Sam.
"Not at all." said Professor Rowan. "If it helps our new guest relax more, then examining it will be a lot easier."
"I don't feel right referring to a living creature as an 'it'." said Lincoln. "Do you know whether it's a boy or a girl so I can stop doing that?"
"Let me look at the photographs in that old pokedex to determine what its gender is." said Professor Rowan. He goes to his desk and grabs the old pokedex tome he showed the group yesterday and turns to the page containing information on the Hisuian Zorua.
"So is this Zorua a boy or a girl?" asked Sam.
"Well, by comparing the two pictures of the different genders of a Hisuian Zorua, I've concluded that our young guest is a girl." said Professor Rowan.
"Oh, so you're a she." said Lincoln as he bends down and scratches behind Zorua's ears, making her smile.
"It appears so." said Professor Rowan. "Would you bring her over to my lab table so I can learn more about her?"
"Sure." said Lincoln. He picks up the Hisuian Zorua who snuggles against Lincoln's chest and sets her on Professor Rowan's lab table. After a few tests on it were done on Zorua with Lincoln keeping her calm, the examination was done.
"This is quite extraordinary." said Professor Rowan. "I never would've imagined that I would meet an actual, thought-to-be, extinct species of Pokemon."
"What should we do with her?" asked Lincoln.
"Perhaps you can keep her with you, Lincoln." suggested Professor Rowan.
"Why?" asked Lincoln.
"She does seem to be relaxed with you, Lincoln." said Professor Rowan. "And perhaps you can help her adapt to this time period."
"Do you want to join my team, Zorua?" asked Lincoln. The Hisuian Zorua does a head tilt, then nods.
"That is awesome." said Sam.
"Hold on, let me get something from the archives." said Professor Rowan as he runs to a back room. A few minutes later, he comes out with a strange-looking pokeball that looked like it was half wood, plus had a fastening latch on it instead of a button.
"What kind of pokeball is that?" asked Dawn.
"It's the very first kind of pokeball created." said Professor Rowan. "This is what they used to catch Pokemon in Hisui."
"Cool." said Sam. Professor Rowan hands it to Lincoln who examines it all over.
"It works just like any normal pokeball." said Professor Rowan. "Just toss it at Zorua to catch it." Before Lincoln could, the Zorua jumps to the pokeball in his hands and pokes it with her nose, making it open and sucks her in; the pokeball wiggles once before a firework shoots out of it.
"My other pokeballs didn't shoot off fireworks." said Lincoln.
"I believe that's how this one lets you know that a capture was successful." said Professor Rowan. "Anyway, according to the data I have collected on her, combined with the knowledge from the pokedex tome, she knows Shadow Sneak and Snarl." Lincoln then tosses Zorua's pokeball, along with his other ones, and lets all his Pokemon out to meet each other.
"Welcome to the team, Zorua." said Lincoln.
"Congratulations, Lincoln." said Dawn as she puts one of her hands on Lincoln's shoulder, making him blush a little. Zorua notices this and a mischievous smirk appears on her face.
"That Zorua looks like she's up to something." said Lincoln.
"How can you tell?" asked Sam.
"That's the same kind of smirk that Lola has when she's up to something." said Lincoln. Zorua does a midair somersault and transforms into Dawn.
"She looks like me now." said Dawn.
"Yes, Zorua's have the ability to transform into other beings." said Professor Zorua.
"Why did it transform into Dawn?" asked Sam. Zorua Dawn walks over to Lincoln and kisses him on the cheek, making him and the real Dawn blush heavily, along with making Sam chuckle.
"Don't do that while looking like me!" said the real Dawn who was still blushing heavily while Lincoln was standing in place like a statue.
"Things should be really amusing around here." said Sam with a smirk.
"V-V-Very funny, sis." said Lincoln.
