Meeting with Miss Fortunes
"Dang it!" said Lynn Jr as a yellow foxlike Pokemon that looked like it was wearing a brown chest plate with shoulder pads, teleported away from her, Lucy, and Lisa. Right now, they were in an area called Windswept Run, gathering information on the Pokemon there.
"An Abra's ability to teleport is quite remarkable." said Lisa.
"Yeah, but it's annoying when we're trying to catch one." said Lynn Jr.
"But at least watching them do so is a research task." said Lisa. "If we want to catch one, we'll have to be quieter when sneaking up on it."
"Where's Lincoln?" asked Lucy.
"He went off to train his Pokemon for when we take on that Alpha one." said Lynn Jr.
"I hope he's gathering data on ones he uses in battle and the ones his Pokemon are battling." said Lisa.
"I'm sure he is." said Lynn Jr. "He's just as interested in completing that pokedex you got as you are."
"I suppose that's true." said Lisa. "Now what to do about catching an Abra?"
"Hey, where's Lucy?" asked Lynn Jr, making Lisa look to see that Lucy wasn't with them.
"How did we not notice her move away from us?" asked Lisa.
"She always does that somehow for some reason." said Lynn Jr. As the two look around for her, they soon spot her behind an unsuspecting Abra.
"Perhaps Lucy should try to catch an Abra?" suggested Lisa.
"Yeah, she sure can sneak up on them." said Lynn Jr. They both watch as Lucy takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing her Drifloon.
"Drifloon, use Astonish." said Lucy. Drifloon quickly moves over to the Abra, turns around, then quickly turns back towards it, startling it, and makes it fall to the ground, getting hurt; and because of the surprise when confronted, it wasn't able to concentrate its energies in order to teleport. Lucy then takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Abra, hitting it, and drawing it in; the pokeball wiggles once before a firework shoots out of it.
"Way to go, Luce!" shouts Lynn Jr as she and Lisa head over to her.
"Thanks." said Lucy as she picks up her new Abra's pokeball.
"What are you going to do with it?" asked Lynn Jr.
"I think I'll hold onto it." said Lucy.
"Yeah, because you both seem to be able to just pop up out of nowhere." said Lynn Jr.
"Is the Abra a boy or a girl?" asked Lucy.
"I'll need to examine it in order to find out." said Lisa. Lucy releases her new Abra from its pokeball and Lisa looks it over.
"What's the verdict, Lisa?" asked Lynn Jr.
"I believe that this Abra's a female." said Lisa. Lucy returns her Drifloon and Abra to their pokeballs and put them on her waist.
"What now?" asked Lucy.
"Let us check on our brother and see what progress he's made." said Lisa as she starts writing information on the Abra that Lucy caught.
"Well, what do we have here?" a female voice calls out from behind them. The Loud sisters look to see three people standing on a mountain ledge.
One was a female adult with a gray hair, grayish blue face paint, wearing a tan fur wrap around her neck, a dark gray jacket and skirt over a purple haroi and leggings, along with leg wraps, and sandals.
Another was a preteen girl with black hair done in braids that stick out to the sides and face paint, wearing blue earrings, a blue jacket with one sleeve and tan fur trim over a white top that looked like bandage wrappings, along with a blue skirt over black shorts, and orange sandals over black boots with white fur trim.
And the third one was another preteen girl with blue hair that stuck up in the back and curved at the sides and also face paint, wearing a light brown vest with fur trim, over a white top like the other one and a white haroi with purple trim, a belt with multiple pouches, brown leggings with holes in them, arm wraps, and gray boots.
"What are children doing out here all by themselves with all the Pokemon around?" asked the gray-haired woman.
"Sisters, we should introduce ourselves properly." said the blue-haired girl. The other two nod and they all leap off the ledge and land in front of the Loud sisters.
"I bring good luck to my sisters wherever I go, and bad luck to those who cross our paths; I am the eldest, and I'll be your unlucky Charm!" said the gray-haired woman now known as Charm.
"Thought you spotted a four-leaf clover? Well, I'll soon have you seeing double! I'm the middle sister, and I'm one Clover you can't pick!" said the black-haired girl now known as Clover.
"Heads, I win, and tails, you lose; you've got no chance in this game of fortunes. I'm the youngest, Coin, but I'm definitely not your good luck piece." said the blue-haired girl now known as Coin.
"We're the infamous bandit trio, the Miss Fortune sisters, and your luck has run out!" said Charm as she and her sisters struck poses. "So, tell us, what are you kids doing out here?"
"If you must know, we are working on a book containing knowledge on all the Pokemon in Hisui." said Lisa as she holds out the pokdex.
"That sounds like something that would be worth a lot." said Clover. "How about giving it to us along with your Pokemon?"
"We most certainly will not!" said Lisa as she holds the pokedex close to her. "Besides, we're still working on it."
"Doesn't matter, we'll still take it." said Coin.
"So be a good little girl and hand it over along with your Pokemon." said Charm.
"You're gonna have to make us, grandma!" said Lynn Jr.
"GRANDMA?!" shouts Charm in response.
"How dare you talk to our sister like that!" said Coin.
"Yeah, she's not that old!" said Clover.
"Didn't your parents teach you manners?!" said Charm, making the Loud sisters look down with sorrow.
"We don't remember our parents." said Lynn Jr.
"You don't remember your parents?" asked Coin with shock.
"We barely remember anything about ourselves except our siblings, and everything from up to a week ago." said Lucy.
"Doesn't matter to us. We're still taking your little book there and your Pokemon!" said Charm.
"Allow me." said Coin. She takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing a purple, bipedal, froglike Pokemon with orange cheeks. Lisa looks through the papers that Professor Laventon gave her to find out what it is.
"I do believe it's a Croagunk." said Lisa.
"Is this the time to be doing research?" asked Lynn Jr.
"I am aware of our situation, but I should take the opportunity to do more research tasks on this Pokemon." said Lisa.
"Which of you will battle me?" asked Coin.
"Me." said Lucy from near her, startling her.
"How did you do that?!" asked Coin. "I didn't hear you coming!"
"Yeah, Lucy will do that." said Lynn Jr.
"So, your name's Lucy then?" Coin asked Lucy who was walking away from her.
"Yes." said Lucy.
"I'm Lynn Loud!" said Lynn Jr.
"And I am Lisa Loud." said Lisa.
"And we're three of the Galaxy Team's Loud siblings!" said Lynn Jr as she strikes a pose to mock the Miss Fortune Bandits, prompting Lucy and Lisa to do the same.
"Don't copy us!" said Charm.
"It's time to battle!" said Coin. Lucy just sighs as she tosses one of her pokeballs, releasing her Drifloon.
"Drifloon, use Confusion." said Lucy. Drifloon releases psychic waves from her body that hits the Croagunk, doing a lot of damage to it.
"Why you..." says Coin as she trembles with anger. "Croagunk, use Mud Bomb!" Croagunk throws a large glob of mud at Drifloon, but it doesn't seem to do anything to her.
"Ha! Your dumb move didn't work!" said Lynn Jr.
"All it did was give me more data for the pokedex." said Lisa as she writes what she observed into it. "One of our research tasks for Croagunk is watching it use that attack."
"Drifloon, use Confusion again." said Lucy. Drifloon hits Croagunk with another blast of psychic energy that hits it and knocks it out.
"NOOO!" shouts Coin as she drops to her knees and pounds the ground.
"I do appear to be the victor." said Lucy. Coin growls before she returns her Croagunk to its pokeball.
"I'm up next." said Clover as she tosses a pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that was mostly white with brown legs, and arms with green handlike ends of them. Lisa quickly looks through her research papers to see what it was.
"That Pokemon is a Snover." said Lisa.
"Snover, hit that Drifloon with Powder Snow!" said Charm. The Snover releases a blast of light snow from its body which hits Drifloon and makes her sink to the ground.
"It seems that move is very effective against Drifloon!" said Lisa.
"Hit all their feet with Powder Snow!" said Clover. Snover starts covering the Loud sisters' feet with snow, pinning them to the ground.
"Hey, I can't move!" said Lynn Jr as she struggles to get free.
"Me, neither." said Lucy. Clover chuckles as she pats her Snover on its head.
"Good work, Snover." said Clover.
"Now that you can't move, we'll be taking your little book there." said Charm.
"Snover, get it." said Clover. Snover nods as it walks towards Lisa.
"You will not take the pokedex!" said Lisa as she struggles to break free of the snow and run away, but to no avail.
"Who's gonna stop us?" asked Charm.
"Cyndaquil, use Ember!" Lincoln's voice shouts out. A spray of bits of fire hits Snover in the side, doing what appeared to be a lot of damage to it; parts of its body seem to catch on fire.
"Who did that?!" asked Clover. Everyone looks to see Lincoln and Cyndaquil running over and stands in between the two groups.
"You mess with at least one Loud sibling; you have to mess with all of them!" said Lincoln as he stares at the Miss Fortune sisters with a look of determination on his face.
"Impeccable timing, Lincoln." said Lisa. Clover looks at Lincoln with a small blush on her face.
"So, your name is Lincoln, cute one?" asked Clover, making her sisters look at her with shock, while Lincoln blushes a bit while his sisters seem to chuckle.
"Clover! He's the enemy!" said Charm.
"This is not the time for romance!" said Coin. "Just battle him already."
"Fine, but I have some terms of my own for this battle now!" said Clover. "If Lincoln wins, we'll leave; but if I win, then he has to be my future husband!" Lincoln blushes at the last term.
"Fine, just battle him so we can get their pokedex." said Coin.
"Snover, use Powder Snow!" said Clover. Snover releases another blast of snow that hits Cyndaquil; the attack barely seemed to affect him.
"I doubt a Pokemon with fire coming out of it is going to be bothered by a little snow!" said Lynn Jr.
"Cyndaquil, hit that Pokemon with Ember again!" said Lincoln. Cyndaquil breathes out another spray of bits of fire at the Snover, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Nice one, Lincoln!" said Lynn Jr. Clover sulks as she returns her Snover to its pokeball.
"Let's get out of here!" said Charm as she throws a ball down onto the ground, releasing a lot of smoke that covers the area, making the Loud siblings cough.
"Cheap move!" said Lynn Jr as she gags on the smoke. As Lincoln stands in front of Lisa to help protect the pokedex, he hears some footsteps approaching him.
"Here's a little present for you, cute one." Clover's voice says from Lincoln's side before he feels a pair of lips press against one of his cheeks, making him blush a little.
"We'll be back for your pokedex!" said Charm. When the smoke clears, the Miss Fortune sisters were nowhere to be seen.
"Good, they're gone." said Lisa.
"Cyndaquil, stand near everyone so your fire can melt the snow on their feet." said Lincoln, making Cyndaquil lie near their feet.
"Thank you, brother." said Lisa.
"Who were those ladies?" asked Lincoln.
"They called themselves the Miss Fortune sisters." said Lisa.
"The one with the gray hair was named Charm." said Lucy.
"And the one with blue hair is called Coin." said Lisa.
"And the one who called you cute is called Clover." said Lynn Jr with a smirk.
"Yeah, and I think she's the one who kissed me on the cheek before she left." said Lincoln.
"SHE KISSED YOU?!" Lynn Jr, Lucy, and Lisa replied with delight.
"Why is it a big deal to you?" asked Lincoln.
"I don't know why, but you and a girl being together fills us with excitement, even if said girl is a criminal." said Lisa. Once the Loud sisters' feet were free of the snow and Drifloon finshes thawing out, they all decide to look around for their other sisters.
As they all walk away towards Deertrack Path, they were being watched by the Miss Fortune bandits.
"What should we do now, sister?" Coin asked Charm.
"We shall wait for an opportunity to steal that pokedex from them." Charm replies. "In the meantime, we'll look around for more valuables we can steal. Before Clover leaves with her sisters, she takes one last look at Lincoln.
"I really hope to see you soon, Lincoln." said Clover before she leaves.
