Lincoln and Paul continue to stare at each other while everyone else watches and wait to see what happens. After a minute, Paul just returns his Elekid to its pokeball and heads for the opening in the arena wall leading in and out of it; as he exits the area, Lisa suddenly enters the gym with a pokeball in her hand, and a look of awe on her face.
"Greetings, brother." said Lisa.
"Hey, Lisa." said Lincoln.
"Here you are." said Lisa as she hands the pokeball to Lincoln. "One revived fossil Pokemon."
"Thank you." said Lincoln.
"I couldn't believe the technology used to revive that fossil!" said Lisa with excitement in her voice. "I never would've imagined that such a process was even remotely possible!" As Lincoln looks at the pokeball, he notices Paul staring at it also.
"What?" Lincoln says to him.
"I just want to see what you got in that pokeball; not that I care anyway." said Paul. Lincoln frowns as he tosses the pokeball, releasing a small, yellow, quadrupedal Pokemon with an oval-shaped metal covering with eyeholes over its face.
"Let's see what you are." said Lincoln as he holds out his pokedex towards his new Pokemon.
"Shieldon, the Shield Pokemon. A Pokémon that lived in jungles around 100 million years ago. Its facial hide is extremely hard." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Wow." said Lincoln. "And this says that it's a boy, he knows Tackle and Protect, plus he has the Sturdy ability also."
"May I see that device?" asked Lisa. Lincoln shrugs as he hands his pokedex to Lisa, then explains to her how it works before turning his attention back to his new Shieldon.
"It's nice to meet you, Shieldon." said Lincoln as he rubs Shieldon's head, making it smile.
"Pathetic." said Paul, making Lincoln and the others look at him.
"What?" Lincoln replies.
"Why are you being nice to it?" asked Paul.
"Why not?" replied Lincoln.
"It's a sign of weakness." said Paul.
"Pardon me, young man; but being nice to someone doesn't mean you're weak." said Rita.
"Whatever." said Paul. "The only thing that matters to me when it comes to my Pokemon is power."
"Hey, I want to make my Pokemon stronger also, but there's nothing wrong with being friends with them." said Lincoln.
"That's just what a weakling would say." said Paul. Lynn Jr walks over to Paul and holds a fist up to his face.
"Next time an insult at my brother comes out of your mouth, the next thing to come out of it after that are some of your teeth." said Lynn Jr with a frown.
"Do you think I'm scared of you?" asked Paul as he glares at Lynn Jr.
"Hey, take it from me, you don't want to get on her bad side." said Lincoln.
"Whatever." said Paul. He then takes out his pokedex and holds it towards Lincoln's Shieldon to get a measure of his power. "Your Shieldon is extremely weak."
"Hey, in Shieldon's defense, he was technically just born." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, you stinker!" said Lola.
"I guess that's a good enough reason for now." said Paul.
"Just you wait!" said Lincoln. "I'll train him up to be really powerful."
"You should just catch Pokemon that are naturally strong instead of wasting your time training up a runt." said Paul.
"I'll show you how strong Shieldon can be!" said Lincoln.
"Like I said before; whatever." said Paul. He then exits the gym, leaving Lincoln, along with his family and friends to themselves.
"What a rude boy." said Lynn Sr.
"I don't like him." said Lana.
"Hopefully you won't run into him anytime soon." said Luan.
"If I do, I hope I'll be ready for him." said Lincoln.
"So, what now?" asked Lori.
"First, I'm going to get my Monferno and Bibarel back from the Pokemon Center, then we can head back to me and Sam's cabin." said Lincoln.
"When we get there, Luna can go back to our dimension to get some of her stuff to bring back to this one." said Sam.
"Let's get going then." said Luna. The group exits the gym and head to the Pokemon Center to pick up the Pokemon that Lincoln left there. As they enter and walk over to the front counter, they notice that Paul was already there, handing two pokeballs to the nurse.
"We'll have your Pokemon back to full health in a while, young man." said the nurse. Paul nods and turns to see Lincoln's group.
"Why are you here?" asked Paul.
"Just picking up the Pokemon I left here." said Lincoln. He then walks by Paul and over to the counter where the nurse hands him his Monferno and Bibarel's pokeballs.
"Your Pokemon are back to full health." said the nurse.
"Thank you." said Lincoln. He then lets his Monferno and Bibarel out of their pokeballs to look them over. Lily walks over to Bibarel and starts cuddling her.
"AWWWW." said Lincoln, along with his friends and family.
"I think Lily likes it." said Leni.
"That is so cute." said Rita. Lincoln then walks over to Bibarel.
"Are you okay now, Bibarel?" asked Lincoln. Bibarel nods in response. "You did really well in your gym battle."
"Stop being so friendly with your Pokemon, it's pathetic." said Paul.
"You want to see pathetic? Go look in a mirror!" Lola replies, making Paul growl at her, prompting most of Lola's siblings to stand in front of her.
"Whatever; not like arguing with a brat is worth a second of my time anyway." said Paul as he goes over to a table and sits down to wait for his Pokemon to be treated.
"That kid is literally a jerk." said Lori.
"Totes, mean." said Leni.
"Forget that chump." said Lynn Jr.
"Let's head back to Sandgem Town." said Lincoln. He returns Monferno to his pokeball and was about to do the same with Bibarel when he sees Lily still hugging her.
"Maybe you should keep Bibarel out of her pokeball; Lily seems to like her." said Sam; Lincoln walks to Bibarel.
"Hey, Bibarel; you mind if Lily rides on you on our way back to Sandgem Town?" asked Lincoln. Bibarel nods in response; Lincoln picks up Lily and sets her on Bibarel's back. Paul lets out a scoff as he sees this.
"You got a problem with Lincoln doing something nice for his baby sister?" asked Zach.
"Whatever." said Paul. The group glares at him, then just exit the Pokemon Center.
"So, how far is it to this Sandgem Town place?" asked Lana. Lincoln looks at his Poketch and presses a button, bringing up a 3D holographic projection of a map out from it.
"What is that?" asked Lori with interest.
"My Poketch." said Lincoln. He tells everyone about how he and Sam won free Poketches a few days ago, and what they did.
"Anyway, it's not too far to Sandgem Town." said Sam. "We need to go through Oreburgh Gate, then we head from there over to Jubilife City, and after that, we head south until we get to Sandgem Town."
"That sounds like a long way." said Lana.
"It's not as far as you might think." said Lincoln.
"Let's get going then." said Sam. The group then start heading for Oreburgh Gate, with Stella and Dawn each holding onto one of Lincoln's arms as they glare at each other, and Lily riding on Bibarel.
As they go through the tunnel, Lincoln and Sam hear the familiar sound of flapping wings, making everyone look up to see Zubats flying at them.
"It's the Zubats again!" said Lincoln.
"I got this." said Sam as she throws her Shinx's pokeball, releasing her from it. "Okay, Shinx; use Thunder Shock!" Shinx releases a jolt of electricity at the Zubats, zapping a few, and driving the rest of them away.
"That was awesome!" said Lynn Jr.
"Wish I had one of those for myself." said Lucy from behind Lynn Jr, startling her.
"Let's keep going." said Lincoln. The group keeps walking until they reach the end of Oreburgh Gate. After they exit the tunnel, they walk down Route 203 towards Jubilife City; as they do, the Loud sisters and parents, along with Lincoln's friends look at all the Pokemon in the area.
"What's that?" asked Lola as she pointed at a Shinx.
"That's a Shinx." said Lincoln. "It's the kind of Pokemon that Sam's Luxio was before she evolved." Lincoln also points out a Bidoof and a Starly to everyone also. As they all continued to walk down the road, an Abra pops out in front of them.
"What is that?" asked Lynn Sr.
"An Abra." said Lincoln. "We saw one yesterday, but it teleported away before we could really do anything."
"You mean there are creatures capable of teleportation?" asked Lisa.
"Some Pokemon can do that." said Sam.
"If I had one, I could study it to learn how they achieve so; that would be useful in my endeavors to create a teleportation device." said Lisa.
"Maybe if you had a pokeball, you could try catching one." said Lincoln.
"But it could teleport away any time before we could do that." said Sam.
"Wait, doesn't your Zubat know Mean Look?" Lincoln asked Sam.
"What's that?" asked Lola.
"It's a move that prevents a Pokemon you're battling from fleeing." said Lincoln.
"I guess it's worth a try." said Sam. She then lets her Zubat out of her pokeball.
"Better hurry before it gets away." said Lincoln.
"Zubat, use Mean Look!" said Sam. Two very small, red, faint beads of light appear on Zubat's face, causing a similar-colored aura to appear around the Abra; it disappeared, but it reappears in the exact spot it was in right now.
"Looks like it worked." said Lincoln.
"What if it tries to fight back?" asked Clyde.
"Doubt it." said Lincoln. "Wild Abras only know Teleport, and it's not going to help this one right now."
"Zubat, use Astonish!" said Sam. Zubat turns around, then spins back towards the Abra, startling it, and making it fall to the ground, doing super effective damage. Lincoln then hands a pokeball to Lisa.
"How do I use this device, brother?" asked Lisa.
"Just throw it at Abra." said Lincoln. Lisa then throws the pokeball at the Abra, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"That was so cool!" said Clyde. Lincoln then asked Lisa for his pokedex back so he can check her new Abra's information.
"Your Abra's a boy, he knows Teleport like I pointed out, and he has the Synchronize ability." said Lincoln.
"Synchronize?" Lisa replies.
"Remember those status conditions I mentioned during Paul's gym battle?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes." said Lisa.
"Well, Synchronize makes it so if the Pokemon with that ability gets a status condition, then its opponent will get it also." explained Lincoln.
"Fascinating." said Lisa. The group continues down the road until they reach Jubilife City.
"This place is huge." said Luna.
"It's one of the biggest cities in Sinnoh." said Lincoln. As they all look around, Lincoln and Sam give them a tour, including the Pokemon School that Lincoln's attending, as well as the TV station that Lola seemed to be interested in; they also show everyone where the Pokemon Center, PokeMart, and other miscellaneous places.
"This city is literally amazing." said Lori.
"Next stop, Sandgem Town." said Lincoln. The group then head south down Route 202 for a few minutes before arriving at their destination. Lincoln and Sam give everyone a quick tour of Sandgem.
"Over there is Professor Rowan's lab." said Sam as she points at the facility where Professor Rowan does his research.
"I'll make a mental note of that." said Lisa. They all soon finally arrive at Lincoln and Sam's cabin.
"This looks nice and peaceful." said Rita.
"It sure is." said Lincoln. Lola runs over to the beach and takes a deep breath.
"Ahhhh, the smell of the ocean." said Lola. "This is way better than breathing in Lynn and Lana's B.O."
"Hey!" Lynn Jr and Lana responded. Lincoln then leads everyone into the cabin and gives them the tour.
"Welcome to our home away from home." said Lincoln as everyone looks around.
"Wow, son; you and Sam have a nice place here." said Lynn Sr. Lori takes a deep breath.
"I'm so used to smelling Lynn's fart and pet dander that it's weird being in a place that's clean." said Lori.
"Sam and I work together to keep the place spotless." said Lincoln.
"It's good that you two share the responsibility of maintaining your home." said Rita. Lincoln shows everyone around; when they see the bathrooms, they all form lines outside each one.
"I need to tinkle!" said Lola as she runs into the bathroom in Sam's room.
"I have to go, also." said Luna. Lincoln sits on the couch in the living room while Stella and Dawn sit on each side of him and rest their heads on his shoulders, making Lincoln blush.
Fifteen minutes later, everyone was done with the bathrooms. Lincoln goes into his bedroom and grabs Lisa's first Dimensional Watch from his nightstand drawer.
"So, now what?" asked Lincoln.
"Well, we're going to head back to our dimension so Luna can get packed." said Lisa, making Luna smile.
"Where can I sleep?" asked Luna.
"We can share my bed." said Sam with a blush, making Luna smile and blush. Lincoln sees Lily riding on Bibarel and lifts her off her, making Lily cry loudly.
"I think she likes Bibarel a lot, Lincoln." said Lynn Sr.
"What are we going to do about this?" asked Rita. Lincoln thinks for a while before handing Bibarel's pokeball to Lily.
"Maybe I'll let Lily hang onto Bibarel if she really likes her." said Lincoln.
"Is that okay?" asked Rita.
"Sure, if it makes Lily happy." said Lincoln, making Lily giggle in response.
"What do Pokemon eat?" asked Lana. Lincoln goes to the kitchen's pantry and comes out with a bag of Pokemon food.
"I feed Bibarel two bowls of Pokemon food per day, plus water." said Lincoln. He then hands Lana the bag; out of curiosity, she takes some food out and eats it.
"Mmmm, not bad." said Lana as she grabs a bit more and eats it.
"Save some for Bibarel." said Lincoln. Lana pouts as she drops the food she had in her hand back into the bag.
"What do we do when the bag is empty?" asked Lynn Sr.
"Just come back here and I'll get some more." said Lincoln.
"How can we keep in touch with you?" asked Rita.
"I believe I can make some modifications to Lincoln's Poketch to allow us to communicate with each other." said Lisa. Reluctantly, Lincoln takes off his Poketch and hands it to Lisa who takes out a small multi-tool gadget and gets to work.
Twenty minutes later, Lisa gives Lincoln his Poketch and he sees that it was a bit bigger than before.
"The device is remarkable, but I was able to figure it out and make some changes to it to allow communication between this dimension and our with our devices." said Lisa. She takes out her handheld and pushes an icon on it, making a projection of a screen come out of Lincoln's Poketch; on the screen was Lisa who was looking into her device.
"Cool!" said Lincoln. Everyone hangs out a bit more before Lisa uses the Dimensional Watch she completed that morning to open a portal back to their dimension.
"We can stop by after school to check up on you to make sure you're staying out of trouble, Lincoln." said Lori.
"Relax, I've been doing that since we got here." said Sam.
"And we'll be back after Luna gets some stuff together." said Lisa. "And I also added a tracking device to your Poketch to allow us to find your location in this dimension if you, Luna, and Sam are on the road."
"Okay." said Lincoln.
"And don't worry, Mrs. Loud." said Dawn as she holds Lincoln close to her. "I'll be right there with him." Stella gives Dawn a harsh glare in response, then walks over to Lincoln and kisses him on the lips, making Lincoln blush as he looks at her with watery eyes, shocking Dawn, and making Lincoln's sisters and Sam giggle.
"And can you catch me a cute Pokemon if you find one?" asked Lola.
"I don't see why not." said Lincoln. "But you have to take care of it."
"I promise I will." said Lola.
"And catch me a cool one." said Lana.
"I want a cute one like Zorua." said Leni.
"Okay, if I find ones I think you'll like, I'll catch them and let you know so you can open a portal here and get them." said Lincoln. After that, everyone then goes into the portal, leaving Lincoln, Sam, and Dawn to themselves.
"So, I guess we wait for Luna to come back." said Lincoln.
"Let's watch TV in the meantime." said Sam. They all sit on the couch, with Dawn leaning against Lincoln making him blush, and wait for Luna to return.
Looks like Luna's going to be moving in with Lincoln and Sam. What other surprises will they experience as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
