Tera Raid Battles
We find Lincoln walking through Mesagoza after hanging out in his room for about an hour. He just stopped by an ice cream stand and got himself a mint chocolate ice cream cone for a snack. As he enjoyed it, he sees Nemona walking towards him.
"Oyee, Lincoln!" said Nemona.
"Hey, Nemona!" said Lincoln.
"What are you up to?" asked Nemona.
"Just hanging out." said Lincoln. "What are you up to?"
"I'm gonna head to South Province Area One to do some Tera Raid battles." replied Nemona.
"Tera Raid battles?" replied Lincoln.
"Oh, that's right; you don't know about them yet." said Nemona. "Want to learn about them?"
"Sure, I got nothing else going on right now." said Lincoln. "Maybe I can get in some Pokemon training while I'm at it."
"Great! Let's go, Lincoln!" said Nemona. After Lincoln finishes his ice cream, the two leave Mesagoza through the south gate and head towards South Province Area One. They head towards where the ruins are and soon stop at a group of large crystal pillars.
"What are those?" asked Lincoln.
"They're crystals that make up a Tera Raid Den." said Nemona.
"What's a Tera Raid Den?" asked Lincoln.
"It's a small area inside the crystals where Tera Form Pokemon hang out." replied Nemona. Lincoln looks at the group of crystals and doubts that anything could fit into them.
"Are there really Pokemon in there?" asked Lincoln with doubt in his voice.
"Don't be fooled by how small it looks." said Nemona. "It's way roomier on the inside than it looks from the outside."
"Really?" asked Lincoln.
"You bet." said Nemona. "Here, I'll show you." She then leads Lincoln towards the small opening that was in the group of clusters and the two crawl into it. They soon enter a large cavern with crystallized walls. Lincoln could only look around with awe in his eyes.
"This is so cool." said Lincoln. As he looks, he sees a crystallize, doglike Pokemon with shaggy, pale blue fur, along with white tipped ears and feet, and a candle with a purple flame on its head; also on its head was a crystallized eye over two rings.
"That's a Tera Form, Lincoln." said Nemona.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Greavard, the Ghost Dog Pokemon. It is said that a dog Pokémon that died in the wild without ever interacting with a human was reborn as this Pokémon." said the Rotom Phone.
"Normally, a Greavard is a ghost type Pokemon." said Nemona, who then points to the crystal eye on the Greavard's head. "But that crystal eye means that it's Tera Form is a psychic type."
"So what do I do?" asked Lincoln.
"Since it's a psychic type right now, you'll need Pokemon that are good against psychic types."
"You mean like ghost, bug, and dark?" asked Lincoln.
"Exactly." said Nemona. Lincoln then thinks of the Pokemon he has with him right now and remembered that Sprigatito knew Bite, which was a dark type move, and lets him out of his pokeball. "To be able to catch a Tera Form Pokemon, you'll need to battle it until it's completely drained of stamina; that will dispel its Tera Form, making you able to catch it."
"Gotcha." said Lincoln as he looks towards the Greavard. "Okay, Sprigatito; use Hone Claws!" Sprigatito starts sharpening his claws against each other, increasing his attack power and accuracy. Greavard responds by running at Sprigatito and ramming him. "Sprigatito, use Bite!" Sprigatito runs towards the Greavard and bites down on it, doing super effective damage. The Greavard suddenly flinches and takes a step back.
"Keep it up, Lincoln!" said Nemona.
"All right!" said Lincoln. "Sprigatito, use another Bite attack!" Sprigatito runs at Greavard and bites down on it again, doing more super effective damage; unfortunately, it didn't make Greavard flinch. The Greavard responds by running at Sprigatito and rams into him, headfirst.
"Better hurry up and end this before Sprigatito reaches his limit." said Nemona.
"Sprigatito, use Leafage!" said Lincoln. Nemona releases a bunch of leaves from his body at Greavard, hitting it, and doing enough damage to dispel its Tera Form.
"Lincoln; catch it!" said Nemona. Lincoln quickly takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Greavard. As the pokeball flies through the air, hundreds of small bits of crystal start being drawn towards it and cover it completely until it became completely crystallized.
"Hey, what happened to my pokeball?" asked Lincoln. The crystal-coated pokeball hits the Greavard and sucks it in; once it did, the layer of crystal suddenly shatters and the pokeball falls to the ground where it wiggles once before clicking.
"You did it, Lincoln!" said Nemona as she runs over to Lincoln and hugs him. The crystal cavern shines brightly, forcing the two to close their eyes. When the light faded, they see that they were back outside.
"How did we get back outside?" asked Lincoln.
"Once a Tera Raid battle ends, we're transported back outside the Tera Den." said Nemona. Suddenly, the cluster of crystals suddenly breaks apart and completely disappears.
"Where did it go?" asked Lincoln.
"No one really knows." said Nemona. Lincoln stands there for a while before realizing that Nemona was still hugging him, making him blush.
"Nemona; you can let go now." said Lincoln. Nemona, realizing that she was still hugging Lincoln, quickly lets go of him while blushing a bit.
"S-Sorry, Lincoln." said Nemona as she looks away to hide her blush. Lincoln, hoping to change the subject, points to the three small orbs, and berries that appeared where the Tera Raid den was.
"Where did those come from?" asked Lincoln. Nemona looks and sees the objects.
"For some reason, Tera Dens leave things behind after disappearing." explained Nemona. "The small orbs are Pearls; they can be sold at PokeMarts for good money." Lincoln then sees the berries and recognized them as Oran Berries and picks them up, along with the Pearls. He gives the Oran Berries to Sprigatito to replenish his strength. His new Greavard's pokeball suddenly teleports to storage. Lincoln uses his Rotom Phone to look up his new Pokemon's information.
"This says my new Greavard is a girl, she knows Tackle, Growl, Lick, Tail Whip, Bite, Roar, and Headbutt; and she has the Pickup ability which allows her to sometimes pick up items after battles." said Lincoln.
The two continue to look around the area and find a couple more Tera Raid Dens; inside he found and caught a Shellder and Venonat, plus found some bags of Stardust and more Pearls.
Also, Lincoln trained the Pokemon he had with him. His Sprigatito learned Magical Leaf, his Pawmi learned Nuzzle, his Tarountula learned Feint, his Hoppip learned Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, and Bullet Seed; and his Lechonk learned Mud Shot. During Spewpa's training, she froze up and started glowing.
"Hey, Spewpa's evolving!" said Lincoln. He and Nemona watch as Spewpa started to change. When she finished, she was now a butterflylike Pokemon with mostly dark pink wings. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at his newly evolved Spewpa.
"Vivillon, the Scale Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Scatterbug. The patterns on this Pokémon depend on the climate and topography of the land it was born in. This form is from frigid lands." said the Rotom Phone.
"This.. is.. AWESOME!" said Lincoln. "This says that Vivillon learned Gust, Struggle Bug, Poison Powder, and Sleep Powder; and she has the Compound Eyes ability which gives her better accuracy."
"Congratulations, Lincoln!" said Nemona. Lincoln then looks at the clock on his Rotom Phone and sees that it was way past lunchtime.
"Man, I didn't realize how long I've been training." said Lincoln.
"Wanna grab some lunch?" asked Nemona.
"Yeah, I worked up an appetite." said Lincoln.
"Well, let's head back to Mesagoza then." said Nemona.
As they head back to Mesagoza; meanwhile at the Royal Woods International Airport in one of the terminals there; the McBride dads were looking at Clyde who had a suitcase in his hand and a big smile on his face.
"Clyde sweetie; Mr. Clavell said that someone named Mr Jacq will be at the airport to pick you up." said Harold McBride.
"Okay, Dad." said Clyde. Tears form in Howard McBride's eyes before he wraps his arms around Clyde in a hug, making Clyde hug him back. After a couple minutes, they break the hug.
"Just remember to call us every day whenever you get the chance." said Howard.
"I will, Dad." said Clyde. Just then, they hear an announcement over the airport's PA system.
"Attention; the flight to the Paldea Region is now boarding." said the announcer. Clyde then gives his dads each one more hug and heads down the jet bridge and boards the plane.
"There goes our little man." said Harold. Howard's eyes tear up and his lips quiver before he breaks down and hugs Harold.
"He's growing up so fast!" said Howard as he sobbed uncontrollably.
"That he is, Howie." said Harold. On the plane, Clyde finds his seat and sits down. The plane soon takes off and starts heading towards the Paldea Region.
"Man, I can't wait to get to the Paldea Region and be with Lincoln! I wonder what other kinds of Pokemon are there and what kind I'll end up getting? I guess I'll find out soon enough." Clyde thought to himself.
Clyde is now on his way to the Paldea Region. What adventures will he have with Lincoln when he gets there? What will his starter Pokemon be? Wait and find out.
