Never Let Me Go
Chapter 9
"I heard you moved back. I hope you enjoyed the show because that's the first and last time you're going to be anywhere near me." Haley replied. As she got her order to go and made her way towards the exit doors.
"Haley. Will hold on. And give me a minute?" Nathan questioned. As he followed her out to the parking lot.
Haley put in her order. Closed the door and turned to look at him.
"There is nothing you could say to smooth over the fact that you left that hospital room and shut us out of you're life."
"She's 10 years old and has no idea who you are to her."
"As long as i can keep that going i will." Haley exclaimed.
"Do you have any idea what its been like for me?" Nathan asked.
Haley stared at him eyes wide. "For you! You got the life you wanted. The house. The wife. Deb and Dan's approval!"
"You've won Nathan. So why the hell are you coming to my show!" Haley questioned.
"I moved back to town to face my bad choices. My mistakes."
"To finally be a father to Sadie." Nathan proclaimed.
"Go home to you're wife. You're daughter. On the other side of town. And erase me and Sadie from you're memory." Haley proclaimed. Before getting into her car and driving home.
...
"It's about time you showed up. I tucked Elizabeth into bed already."
"I thought tonight was going to be about us?" Peyton questioned.
When she confronted Nathan in the dimly lit entryway.
"I got distracted and ended up losing my way."
"We can send Elizabeth to my parents this weekend and we can properly break in our new bedroom." Nathan proclaimed.
"I can't wait." Peyton replied.
Nathan sighed deeply. Leading the way to their bedroom.
He wrapped his arms around her and found himself just staring into the darkness.
