In this chapter…well, doesn't the chapter title kind of explain it already?

I'm going to start off small. I figured it would be better if I built up the horror instead of unleashing it all at once.

To be honest, I think the Faculty kind of did that itself. I found that the movie got progressively scarier as it went along. I know that I found the climax to be the scariest moment.

Chapter 2: The Invasion Begins

Shortly after gym class, the breakfast club decided to talk about how unpleasant their gym teacher was.

This time, he called them babies. They didn't even wear diapers.

Though it would be fun to throw a stinky diaper at the gym teacher. It seemed fitting since Coach Willis's attitude stunk.

"I know that I've probably said this before, but our gym coach is a jerk." remarked Claire.

"I wish someone would do something about him." spoke Andrew.

"Maybe throw a dodgeball at his face?" suggested Bender.

"That's funny." remarked Addison.

Andrew was worried about what would happen to Stan once he told the coach that he was going to leave the team.

Was he going to punch him?

Perhaps the coach thought that since his town was a football town, he could get away with anything. And perhaps the principal was turning a blind eye to the gym teacher's actions.

"How are you all doing?" asked Marybeth.

"We're doing pretty good, Marybeth Louise Hutchinson." answered Brian.

"Why do you always introduce yourself this way?" questioned Andrew. He had seen her introduce herself to Delilah and Stokeley. Personally he thought that Delilah was snarky but he could sympathize with her for losing her father. And Stokeley had decided she could make a few friends at school.

"Is that a problem?" questioned Marybeth.

"No. But I think Marybeth is enough." stated Brian.

"I understand." nodded the blonde.

As it turned out, Stan hadn't worked up the courage to tell the coach yet.

He had seen him yelling at the team.

Perhaps the coach was having a bad day.

But then again, he always seemed to be in a bad mood.

Was he abused as a child?

He certainly hoped not.

"You are all a bunch of sissies!" exclaimed Coach Willis.

The football team groaned. This was not going to help them win the football team.

Maybe they should throw the game in order to displease the coach.

But then again, their fans would be awfully disappointed in them if they did that.

And they outnumbered the coach by a wide margin.

Maybe they could try to make it so their team was a close second? The fans would probably still be happy, and the coach definitely wouldn't.

Stan decided he would tell him his plans when the coach was feeling better.

Besides, he knew that the team was having a football game soon. Maybe he shouldn't quit just yet.

So Stan figured it would be a good idea to do so after the game.

Coach Willis was approached by someone.

"Oh hey. What do you want?" asked Coach Willis.

Little did he know that he had encountered an alien invader.

Suddenly, a tentacle grabbed him by the throat.

It seemed that this alien invader did not want him calling for help.

Or maybe they just wanted him to shut up.

Or maybe both.

The next day…

Once again, Brian was being oppressed by bullies.

On the lighter side of things, Casey was getting the day off.

He was feeling rather happy.

He didn't want the bishop to run headfirst into the rook with the castle flag. The bullies had pushed him into the flagpole more than once.

Though they at least hadn't given him a wedgie using the flagpole. Yet.

Marybeth noticed that Brian was being bullied.

She decided she was going to take action.

"Who needs a punching bag when we have you?" questioned one of the bullies.

It was so much fun to bully new students.

Especially ones that were nerdy.

But Marybeth wasn't going to let that happen.

"You leave him alone!" exclaimed the teenage girl.

"What are you going to do about it, new girl?" asked another one of the bullies.

Marybeth pushed him and he fell to the ground.

"We don't normally attack girls, but you asked for it!" shouted the bully.

He attempted to punch Marybeth, but she ducked and slapped him in the face.

"Oww!" exclaimed the delinquent. She slapped surprisingly hard.

Another bully attempted to grab her, but she punched him in the face.

"My nose!" shouted the delinquent.

"Sorry, did I break it? I actually didn't intend that." noted Marybeth.

"No, but it's bleeding!" answered the teen with the bleeding nose.

The bullies decided to run. They were way over their head.

"You're really strong, Marybeth." noted Brian.

"I guess I don't know my own strength." spoke Marybeth.

"Well, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover." said the geeky boy.

"It's true, you shouldn't." answered the new girl.

There was oftentimes more to people than met the eye.

Stan decided to tell his team what he was planning to do.

They would be sad to see him go, but he was sure they would understand.

"Gabe, I've got bad news." noted Stan.

"What is it?" asked Gabe.

"I plan on quitting the football team." explained the quarterback who decided not to be a quarterback.

"You're quitting now of all times?" questioned the token black guy.

"Well, I know there's a football game on the horizon, b-" spoke Stan.

"There's that, obviously, but more importantly, have you seen how the coach is acting?" asked Gabe.

"How is he acting?" asked the jock. He was glad he wasn't racist (or Gabe would never be able to join the team), but he was a big reason why he wanted out.

"He's acting nice. Really nice." explained the black football player.

"Really? Doesn't that seem a bit off to you?" asked Stan.

"I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth." answered Gabe. Besides, he had heard about the school's bullying problem. It seemed possible that the gym teacher was the source. Those who were bullied could become bullies themselves.

"Well, if you want to stay on the team, you're welcome. But I need to focus on the rest of my classes. Not just gym." said the jock.

Sure, he was a jock, but that didn't mean he was dumb.

He decided to talk to the coach.

"Hey, Stan. How's my star quarterback?" asked Coach Willis.

Stan immediately remembered what Gabe had told him.

Coach Willis was standing by the pool.

Since the coach was in such a good mood, he decided to talk to him.

"I'm sad to tell you this, but I'm resigning from the football team to focus on my schoolwork." explained Stan.

He felt like people should think of him as more than just a football star.

Sure, he did well in football, but he could do much more than that if he set his mind to it.

Perhaps he would play football again someday.

But for the time being, he wanted to do something else. Who knows? Maybe he could become a straight-a student.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck in your future endeavors." spoke Coach Willis.

"I didn't think that you would take it so well." remarked Stan.

"Well, I wouldn't have minded if you had waited until after the football game. But I can find a replacement." noted the coach.

Maybe Zeke would be interested in joining. Although, he didn't want him selling drugs to the football team.

Getting jacked up right before a game was not a good idea. It could cost them the game, for one. But more importantly, one or more of them could end up being medivacked. And the school would be sad to see them leave. Even if they most likely would come back later.

If Zeke joined the team, he would need to keep an eye out for them.

"Alright then." noted Stan.

He had to admit, the gym teacher certainly had changed.

Was his mood better when a football game was coming?

He wasn't sure.

Stan left the pool.

The Breakfast Club were happy to hear about the coach's change in behavior.

No longer would he yell at them for being weak as kittens.

Though Addison did admit to liking kittens.

"Did you hear the news? The gym coach has changed his ways!" exclaimed Andrew.

"He has?" asked Addison.

"I wonder what caused his change in behavior." noted Brian. Not that he was complaining.

After mingling with the rest of the club, Brian told Casey what Marybeth had done for him.

"She did? Who would have thought the new student would be so strong?" asked Casey.

"I know." nodded Brian. He admired her for it. And no, he did not mind hanging out with a girl that was stronger than he was.

Casey decided to write Marybeth a thank you card.

"Thank you for rescuing Brian! From Casey."

She wrote one back.

"You're welcome! We newbies need to stick together. From Marybeth Louise Hutchinson."

"Good old Marybeth. Always saying her full name…and writing it too." remarked Casey.

Meanwhile, at the pool, Dick Vernon approached the gym teacher.

He was unhappy with the gym teacher's change of attitude. Though in a twist of irony, everyone else was happy about it.

"What happened to you yelling at the students?" asked Dick Vernon. He loved it when the coach did that.

To be honest, he was the one teacher who he had gotten along with. They both seemed to have a negative opinion regarding the high schoolers.

"I've decided that yelling at the students isn't the way to get them to play better." noted Coach Willis. He was going to be much more gentle from now on.

"I was hoping that you would be able to teach some of them a lesson." remarked Dick Vernon.

He would love it if he made the Breakfast Club do pushups. Preferably a lot of them. Especially Bender.

"Why don't you take a look at the pool? It's looking particularly sparkly today." recommended the coach.

Dick Vernon took a close look at the pool.

"What are you talking about? I don't see any spark-"

Suddenly, a parasite that had been lurking in the pool lunged at Dick.

There was screaming, then science.

"Two down, several more to go." remarked Coach Willis.

And yes, one of those two referred to himself.

Meanwhile, Casey discovered a strange creature near the sprinklers.

It was white in color.

It seemed somehow sweet and lovable.

So he decided to give it to his science teacher.

He would ask him not to dissect it, of course.

"Fascinating. It seems that you've discovered a new species." remarked Mr. Furlong.

"Really?" asked Casey. This made him feel very special. Hopefully popularity would make him less likely to be bullied.

But then again, envy could bring out the worst in people.

"New species are discovered every day." spoke the man.

Marybeth suddenly walked into the room.

"You should give it some water." noted the blonde.

"Some water, you say?" asked Mr. Furlong.

"Well, it does look amphibious." spoke Casey.

Mr. Furlong decided to dump it in his water tank.

Why he had a water tank that had no fish in it, the rest of the school had no idea.

The creature began to swim around.

"What do you know…" said the science teacher.

He reached in his hand to touch the creature.

But one of his students advised against it.

"Are you sure you should be doing that? It has teeth." warned Stokeley.

And there were fish that were poisonous.

Dr. Furlong took his hand out.

"Thanks for warning me." spoke Dr. Furlong.

Stokeley noticed that the creature almost seemed to be staring back at them.

She wondered if it was not from this world.

After all, she was a sci-fi fan.

Was there really life on other planets?

She could only hope that they came in peace.

If not, the world could be in a lot of trouble.

She had seen Independence Day.

She had also seen Mars Attacks…though to be honest, the aliens were laughably evil in that one. But what was so funny about an alien invasion?

At night, the faculty were discussing making changes to the school.

But Principal Drake was dumping the school's budget into gym.

"What about drama class?" asked Mrs. Olson. Surely, some of the money could go to drama. The drama club would definitely appreciate that.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Olson. But this is a football town." noted Principal Burke.

"Is that all they think about? Football?" asked Mrs. Olson.

Mr. Furlong shrugged. He hoped that the principal would donate some money to science class in the future.

They had discovered a new species.

Wasn't that worth some money?

As soon as Principal Drake left the school, she discovered that she had forgotten something that was very important.

"My keys! How could I forget my keys?" asked Drake.

She went back into the school to get them.

And Dick Vernon is the first Breakfast Club character to be infected. I don't think you'll feel too bad for him.

Why stop with the cast of The Faculty?

I'm not going to spoil who gets infected next yet though.

I figured you would want to read that.
