Author's Notes: The Male Lead in this story is from a Web Novel called Top Notch Master Masquerading as Cannon Fodder Female Companion. This novel is one in a series of books co-written by a couple of authors. These novels have a lot of drama, face-slapping, and silly yet romantic antics. The Male Lead is mentioned in The President is Being Shameless Again and The Long Awaited Mr. Han. The author's name is Dawnesque/As if Dawn.

As for the names used here are the rough translations of their meanings as I understand and researched. Fang - Square; Feng - Wind (风/風); Wen - Boon; Wei - power (威). First names: Kagomes Father - AnJun (Peaceful army) Uncle - AnLi (Peaceful strength), Cousins JiuYin (small shelter) JiuYang (small light), brothers - LongWang (Dragon King) LongLei (Dragon Thunder).

Kagome felt a sense of disconnect. It was neither unpleasant nor pleasant as she tried to orientate herself.

She had just returned from a unique world that could only be called fantasy and found in a novel. It had layers that mixed martial arts, Mysticism, cultivation, Spiritualism, and legit Alchemy.

Sighing, Kagome wondered how a meditation session had caused her soul to separate from her body. She still had some of her abilities from that world, having been taught by a couple under a heavy fate from being born under the Dragon and Phoenix Stars. Her mate had been a half-breed purple lightning dragon with a voracious appetite.

"Sorry."

The sudden and softly spoken apology made Kagome freeze.

"I'm sorry."

With a deep breath, Kagome focused on her and realized she was with another soul. And that the soul felt eerily similar to her own.

So, using her spiritual sense, she 'looked' around to see a young woman of roughly twenty-six floating before her. The similarities were her facial and body structure and her deep blue eyes. The woman was five feet tall, yet her skin was not healthy and had a yellow pallor. The sunken eyes were dark, and she had long, straight, dull, thick black hair that hung in waves.

"Please forgive me."

Feeling a bit irked, Kagome realized what this was. This woman was dead and had regrets and grudges. Their souls were almost a 100% compatible match, meaning it was another version of herself.

"Name and reason to apologize."

Knowing her words were curt, even ruse, Kagome didn't care. She was experiencing a new type of reincarnation—one she wanted to avoid dealing with.

"Feng-Ohlde Kagome. And I asked the Gods to help fix the wrong in my life."

Kagome took a few deep breaths to stay calm. The Gods were definitely fucking with her again. Yet she couldn't deny her other self the help being sought and having lived twenty-plus lives. She'd come to understand only she could take care of herself. All else was fleeting and ephemeral.

Soon, a look of panic and fear flickered across her other self's face as her body trembled. Kagome knew these signs. This version of herself had been traumatic, even abused.

"Hey, do-"

"Do it. No-"

"Blood is on- You're as- Surg-"

"I'm her hus- My ri- Do it!"

A chill ran down Kagome's spine as she looked at her other self. The soul was curled in on itself, trembling and turning gray.

"Fine, I'll help you get back your life so you can move on safely. Share all your memories with me."

The widening of her other self's eye was all Kagome got as literally twenty-six years from birth to death slammed into her mind.

A child who was supposed to be lucky had lived in pain and trauma since she was young when her mother had been murdered before her eyes. Yet this version of herself wasn't completely stupid, just love-drunk and blind—a way of living that she understood.

"How long."

"Ah, five days."

"Good. No text or email will trigger the failure that was put in place with your cousin. Sit back and watch a great dramatic show as it unfolds."

Kagome smiled, while her other self looked shocked and horrified as they shared their thoughts on the quickly concocted plan.

000000000

Kagome opened her eyes only to feel them burn under the glaring LED lamp in the operating room. The panic of all in attendance and the chief surgeon who met her gaze as she held the scalpel over her abdomen was hilarious as she smiled.

Then, with mental conditioning of her first life, Kagome forcibly dropped her blood pressure and her heart rate, setting off the alarms. Kagome felt her consciousness slip into oblivion. This scenario was only the first time triggering a death-like reaction.

"Dammit, stitch her up, Sam. Nurse Louanna, see why the power went out, and you, Nina, get a blood pressure cuff on the stethoscope."

"Dr. Donaldson, is she cursed?"

"Don't be an idiot."

Internally, Kagome snickered. She knew she lost her uterus this time. But this version of herself was spiritually blessed thanks to her paternal great-grandmother's family. She was long practicing Taoist and TCM Doctors.

And over the past two weeks of "almost" dying on the operating table at different times, Kagome felt a familiar soul arise. Though her other self was shocked at who it was. It wasn't until she was alone in her hospital room they showed themselves.

As their gazes met, Kagome couldn't help but try to smile through the anesthesia, speaking in a slurred voice, "You're late, cousin."

Soon, the sounds of her being wheeled out and cold blankets being laid across her abdomen to keep her body temperature low so she didn't bleed as much. Kagome wondered what this particular cousin was doing here. Then, her world went black.

He stood there with the current and former head of the Lanshan Institute, superior Fang BoRan, and the twins from Taiwan's reclusive and notorious Feng family. His eyes were glued to the monitors, which replayed this morning's events.

Having returned late with his team shadowless from an operation to retrieve the injured heir of his paternal Wei family, he checked in, completed his report, submitted it, and then headed to the field to exercise. Sleeping on the flight back, he did not feel tired.

As the monitor shifted to show various angles of the compound's main gate, he saw the moment he encountered what he thought was a youngster shuffling and using a walking cane. Their gate was a slow shuffle and stiff roll as if exaggerated.

So he called out to get their attention, only to be ignored. Then, following protocol and approaching slowly and with caution, he reached out, placing a hand on the youth's shoulder.

He saw himself in the security monitor suddenly having an elbow driven into his ribcage as the walking cane fell to the ground and grunted. Then, with a grab and fluid move, he witnessed his body going airborne due to the shoulder throw that swiftly followed the elbowing.

Thanks to his honed reflexes, his feet hit the ground with an audible thud, putting him into a partial bridge pose as the nearby camera's microphone picked up a loud pop. A choked cry of pain followed the loud pop as he looked up to see a woman's chest before he was let go, almost falling onto his back. The girl fell back at an odd angle due to their left hip suddenly not supporting her.

As the video paused, a voice said, "Ah, little K still has the skills the family taught her."

The words made him feel cold all over once more. He had heard from the old men Wen and Wen Ren about the Feng Family's only female child in six generations. The video showed him and her in a reactive scuffle.

"Indeed, she used to keep up with you, Feng JuiYin, and her two brothers," Old Wen said. His voice was laced with pride. "My little cousin still has talent even though she is injured."

His pride felt stabbed because it was true. An injured person had gotten one over him. Usually, only Wen Ren and Fang BoRan could beat him in a sparring match. He could hold even with Feng JuiYin in a match. They were still ever for win and loss.

"So, Wei WuCai, how are you feeling? I heard four ribs were bruised," Fang BoRan asked with a wide smile.

Glaring at everyone, WuCai looked at everyone and spoke slowly: "I hurt. I do not regret my actions, as I followed protocol. And not having been informed about her being a guest, let alone a description, the fault is on you, Fang BoRan, and Wen Ren."

The annoyed looks and frown he received didn't phase him after shoving the blame on his two friends and superiors. It was their fault, after all.

Breathing in deeply, Kagome exhaled and started the kata again. She'd been at Lanshan for three months. Other than the early morning encounter with the current head of Shadowless Unit, which resulted in her left hip dislocating, everything had been calm. Thus, her body's healing had been going smoothly.

However, she was still sharing the body with the original host soul, so she constantly experienced all the emotions. It was frustrating to the max, yet she understood those emotions well. She remembers her first life with InuYasha and their toxic and tragic love triangle and then her life with Orochimaru.

Her body jerked as her mind became cluttered, ruining the kata again. She had learned swordsmanship in her prior life, so she knew herself. This world had traditional Jianshu, or Chinese swordsmanship, which fascinated her. Hence, she was attempting to practice it. However, using her walking cane compared to the WuTang Sword did not help.

Kagome grunted in frustration and shifted into the starting position, only to feel the mostly healed abdominal incision pulled and hurt.

"Fuck!" she shouted and tossed her walking cane to the ground and sank to her knees and held her hurting tummy.

Soon, the sound of hurried footsteps could be heard, making Kagome lift her head and glare at her distant cousin Wen Ren. It did not phase him as he reached her side and scooped her up in one arm, the other grabbing the walking cane.

"You idiot!"

She knew he could; blunt words were said with concern. She knew she was in the wrong. Her body was taking forever to heal, yet she was becoming impatient. She could feel the seal of spiritual ability. However, the previous host would not let her use it to heal quickly.

000000000

We WuCai paused at the curled-up body of the institute's guest. He had just come from the canteen, and Wen Ren was nitpicking the level of stubbornness being shown.

Though it was amusing for the pot to call the kettle black, it had been himself who reported her two months back after encountering her trying to struggle to do the Feng family's WuTang martial arts. She'd been pale and sweating from pain.

The words from Feng JuiYin as he left echoed in his head. Kagome lifted her head from her knees and looked at him for a few seconds. Her scooting over was a silent invitation he took to sit next to her.

He'd seen many like Kagome since coming to Lanshan and then deciding to stay.

Feng JuiYin was right. Kagome was, in her own way, trying to cope with the physical, mental, and emotional changes her injuries had wrought. However, he was still shocked that Feng JuiYang did not like Kagome because she was born a girl and thus took all the love and attention childishly.

"It sucks having my rights and choices forcibly taken."

The sudden, whispered words pulled him from his thoughts as he sat beside her and looked out over the treetops below the institute. Kagome hardly spoke to anyone during her stay here, so he grunted to show she had his attention. His curiosity piqued.

"I am half a woman now. I feel barely human, knowing I can't have a child anymore. And that it wasn't a choice I made."

A chill ran through him. He had cracked into it with Hao Danghuai, but the information had been sealed and redacted. The alarm had been triggered, leaving them both in trouble and harshly punished. But he had gleaned that six and a half months ago, a severely injured Feng Kagome had been recovered and secretly brought back to China's T-city and Lanshan by her cousin Feng JuiYang.

Tilting his head, Wei WuCai looked at her. He noted how her pink lips were pressed into a thin line as she frowned. He, by chance, had seen her smile once in the past three months. And that was cradling Wen Xu, Wen Ren's newborn son.

"Death is never an option. It is a coward's choice or a last and often honorless choice. But having a happy family is also not for me either. And my family, hahaha, yeah, no!"

He could feel his eyebrows practically jumping on his forehead at her words. We WuCai wondered how her cousin would feel about her saying that. Then again, there were her father and older twin brothers. She was a favored child, right? Then why did it seem she thought they'd not care about her?

The sight of tears on her cheeks made him uncomfortable, so he stood and stepped behind Kagome slowly. A soft groan came from her as he bent and hooked his hands under his arms and easily lifted her.

"Hey! What the fucking hell!? Put! Me! Down!"

He couldn't help but smile at her foul language. It was exactly like Feng JuiYin's when he got agitated.

"Uncurl your legs and stand. Do not be lazy."

A sharp hiss, like an angry cat, was heard as she did as he told her. Once she was standing, he retracted his hands, bent over, picked up her walking can, and placed it in one of her hands.

"You are an idiot. Prove them all wrong."

After speaking, Wei WuCai saw her body stiffen, and he left.

000000000

Kagome took a deep breath and pulled herself from the calm, meditative state. She had finally gotten control from the original host, who was an utter brat. So Kagome had started training her spiritual Ki and minor cultivation. This world was not conducive to cultivation.

"Why do you keep doing this? Making others aware of the heritage will only bring bigger problems to the family and me."

Rolling her eyes before opening them, Kagome circulated her Horiki, carefully heating her internal organs, joints, and bones. Though it had been slow going, and results only showed up during her last exam, seven months had now more or less passed since she arrived here.

"Cease your whining, or I'll seal you again. You asked for help, and I agreed. You have died, and your life is now mine. I allow you to stay and see the revenge I'll get in your name. So don't block me, and stop nagging."

The body remembers all the trauma. Thus, Kagome had issues with the opposite sex in close proximity. Mainly because it was classified as innate, and the original host made it worse by interfering.

"You bitch!"

Kagome smiled as she stood, glad she no longer needed the damn cane.

"Only because you're acting like a selfish, spoiled child. And you don't like not getting your way, proving my point. So quit being willful, or I'll do as I said."

A strong feeling of discontent washed over their shared body, yet Kagome ignored it. She walked out of the woods and to the shooting range. Since that night, when her soul and the original host had synchronized and spouted off to the cold man, Wei WuCai, they'd seemed to understand. His blunt words had spurned her to take control and get back on track. And each of their few exchanges, she'd accepted his offer to train her in firearms since she had none.

So, in exchange for him teaching her the basics of shooting, she'd teach him the bare-bone basics of her family WuTang Sword. She had been taught secretly by her great-grandmother's second husband, the younger twin of the Feng family at that time. Then her grandfather, her father's father, and his brother. Her uncle and cousin Feng JuiYin had also kept her up to snuff, though her father didn't want her to practice.

"You're late. Get Ready."

The short, cold, and blunt words made Kagome squint and nod. He was not used to the manner of talking now, but he could kill a conversation with his words.

000000000

His eyes didn't leave her as he watched. It had been 10 months since she arrived at Lanshan, and the changes were gradual, yet he could see the stark contrast from the silent and empty-eyed girl he'd first met to the slightly smiled and eyes sparkling with mischievousness.

Tomorrow, he'd be leaving for his family's home and then a mission. He had no clue how long he'd be gone this time, Yet it was obvious to him that something in him had changed during these 10 months.

"If you stare at my cousin any harder, I'll drag you to the sparring grounds, Wei WuCai."

Snorting, he looked into the black eyes of Feng JuiYin, who was standing with his brother and father, both of whom were glaring at him as well. It was both mildly annoying and amusing how protective they were of Kagome, Especially Feng JuiYang, who had admitted he wasn't fond of her.

"Let's go."

Speaking those two words, he watched as all three Feng men's faces grew sour in annoyance at the obvious challenge.

"What's going on?"

Flicking his eyes to the side, he saw old man Wen. The way his dark eyes glowed, Wei WuCai knew the old man had heard everything.

"Great cousin Wen," Feng JuiYin and Feng JuiYang said with a bow.

The amused look in old man Wen's black eye as he accepted the twins' greeting.

"Feng AnLi, I asked what was going on."

The way the twins and their father visibly stiffened was amusing. None of them wanted to answer, so he gave a polite cough to get old man Wen's attention. When his eyes flicked to Wei WuCai, a smile followed the look that also made him stiffen.

"Yes, Xaoi WuCai?"

"They are being overprotective. Many here at Lanshan have taken a shine to your young cousin, young Kagome. And their natural instinct to be an obstacle seemed to kick in," he said, enjoying how everyone showed shock at him saying so much. Also, I must finish packing to return to my family for the New Year."

The slow nod he got had him leaving at a fast walk, feeling smug. The old man had nagged and begun lecturing the twins and their father. He heard the old man tell them to back off and let Kagome form her connections and friends, especially with the opposite sex, since she had trauma being close, even mildly intimate, with men.

He'd learned while teaching her to shoot. Her confession is that she was married to a man who abused her and treated her like a blood bank, even forcing her to miscarry. The man whom she had loved had harmed her deeply by hurting her, and, while she was in the hospital, illegally signed for her to get a hysterectomy. It angered him when he recalled their first real conversation and her feeling half a woman.

He knew Kagome had warmed up to him and saw him as a person of trust to confide in. Yet she kept up a mile-thick wall between them and others. Hence, her male family members glared at him since she showed an inclination of acceptance while she kept them away from her like the plague.

000000000

The loud clatter of metal on ceramic echoed in the now silent canteen kitchen of the Lanshan Institute.

Yet Kagome didn't dare look at the spoon she had just dropped as her other hand gripped the half gallon of Rocky Road Ice Cream. Her mind was having a hard time processing what had just been said to her. Even now, the original host was silent due to being stunned.

Take your time."

She watched as her surprise companion bent and picked up the fallen spoon before flicking his wrist and sending it flying into the sink with a change. Her eyes tracked him as he grabbed a clean spoon from a drawer and stabbed it into the Ice Cream she held.

"What is his issue? Why me? I'm still married!"

At the words spoken by the original host, Kagome snapped out of her daze.

"I am still married. Isn't your confession a bit improper?" She asked as she saw his abyss-black eyes narrow.

"Do you intend to stay married to that... thing that harmed you repeatedly."

"No. But getting a divorce won't be easy."

"I'll help while waiting."

Kagome felt skepticism from the original host. She, too, felt that way.

"Why, I am a broken, used pair of shoes. A hen who can't lay eggs."

Her words are self-depreciation but true. Any sane man would run from a woman like her.

"You are worth it, idiot."

Kagome felt her eyes twitch at We WuCai's words as she watched him turn and leave without saying another word. She has lived in Lanshan with her cousins, their families, and employees for seventeen months.

And this man still killed all conversations and left her astounded and unable to respond.

"This can't be right. There has to be an angle!"

Kagome did not wholly disagree.

"Yet you knew he was not lying. I monitored his aura."

The original host said nothing. They both knew the trauma afflicted their shared body. Yet this whole time, when he wasn't on a mission, he spent time with them, patiently helping and being near them, something Fang BoRan and Haohao said was out of character for Wei WuCai.

000000000

Lifting a hand, Wei WuCai rubbed lightly against his cheek, already feeling it swell. His gaze never left the two men before him.

He'd gone on his mission and had come across information that piqued his interest. It filled in a lot of blank and redacted information on Kagome's personal files he'd seen, and it explained some of her more severe reactions to close, even intimate physical contact with others. It left him even more angry than what he had gotten from Kagome previously.

The trail led him to the Leinster Province and Dublin, the Capital of Ireland. That also meant he was led to the two men before me. Not an idiot, having worked most of his life in Lanshan, often going out on international missions, he had come across the names of these two men.

Yet he persisted, feeling the need to help Kagome free herself from her past and the trash she was married to. She was chained and bounced, so he dared to make contact.

Of course, upon learning his purpose, the reaction was massive suspicion. These two military men were officers of the Forsai Cosanta (Defense Force) of Ireland and Kagome's older (estranged) twin brothers, Feng LongWang and Feng LongLei. And he could say they lived up to the strong names after a few blows.

Shifting his body, WuCai got back into the defensive fighting stance. He had seen enough of their martial arts. It was a mix of the Feng family's traditional style that he'd spared against Feng JuiYin and Feng JuiYang and the Irish Dornálaíocht (boxing) and speachóireacht (kicking) fighting styles.

It made them deadly fighters because of how swift, fluid, accurate, and robust they were. It also allowed Wei WuCai to realize that although they were estranged from Kagome, they still loved her and would protect her.

To earn their trust and respect, he had to continue. He would need their help to make sure Kagome could be free. However, he would pursue her afterward, with or without their approval. She was his, even if she didn't know it at the moment. He would not let her run and hide or make more excuses, like being a used and broken shoe.

000000000

Kagome felt disconnected from the world. It had been two years since she came to Lanshan after being rescued. Though she wasn't divorced, Wei WuCaihad brought her to meet his mother, the Wei family elders, and the next head of the family, Wei Ziqain, and his wife, Tan Mo.

The last person she had kept up with for how she always came out on top. From how her aura flickered around the tiny body, Kagome could tell that Tan Mo was either a transmigrator or regressor. Kagome was sure it was the latter, yet.

However, that didn't matter, as Kagome suddenly stiffened at the thick, cold, and annoyed aura that rolled off Wei WuCai as he sat beside her.

"Auntie, I have no interest in this Miss SuLing as a marriage partner. I came home to visit my mother and the elders."

His words stiffened the woman he called Auntie and the other two ladies, Cao Baimei and Su Ling. As his aunt opened her mouth to speak, Kagome bit the inside of her mouth. Wei WuCai brushed his arm and leg against her as if trying to reassure her.

"Yes, yes, sorry. Why don't you introduce your guest, Xaio WuCai."

Feeling her chest tighten as the original host began to have a mild panic attack affecting her directly.

"Feng Kagome."

The three syllables of her name were all he introduced, and it made Kagome want to roll her eyes at his unique skill at killing conversations.

"Oh, well, it seems as if she is uncomfortable. As if she doesn't want to be here."

"Yes, my Xiao Ling'er should take her out to walk, hoping she relaxes. Putting a simple girl like her in this situation is cruel to you, Wei WuCai."

WuCai felt a coldness settle through his body. He did not need a translator to know his auntie and Cai Baimei were insinuating that Kagome was beneath all gathered and unfit to be there. Narrowing his eyes, he could tell Kagome was starting to break down, and he had worked hard for her to be at ease in his presence and comfortable next to him physically.

"Yes, Miss Feng, go with Xiao Ling'er."

He frowned as he listened to his auntie speak while looking to the side of his family elders, Mom, Ziqain, and Tan Mo. All of them knew why he had brought Kagome today.

"Ah, before you go, Miss, which Feng family are you from? There are very few in the upper social circle with that name, and I don't recall seeing you at any of the social gatherings, be it political or business."

Wei WuCai stiffened when Kagome stood up suddenly. He saw her pink lips stand out against her paling skin. Her family was taboo, yet he knew it was not his place to speak for her; she had her pride.

Her mouth opened and closed, eliciting a soft snort from Cao BaiMei and Su Ling. They didn't even bother to hide their disdain, which shone in their eyes. His auntie seemed to be smiling smugly at Kagome's agitated state as if she had hit the nail on the head.

"Oh, I'm sorry to have asked a question you find hard to answer," Cao BaiMei said in a polite yet insulting tone. Your family must be ordinary and from a lower class or even the country if you don't want to answer. Please, I wasn't intentionally trying to embarrass you."

"Who is looking down on my Feng Family?"

At the sound of a familiar, aged, raspy voice, Kagome felt her body go soft as her vision filled with dark spots. The sudden weightless feeling of being lifted by thick muscular arms as if she were a fragile piece of glass was uncomfortable. Yet when she attempted to struggle, Kagome went still as she met aged blue eyes that stared at her with nothing but love and acceptance.

"Elder Madame Feng-Tao MeiWei."

The old male voice that spoke quickly, accompanied by the sounds of clothes rustling from standing, made Kagome realize this was the original host's great-grandmother who had entered the room—the actual Matriarch of the Feng and Tao families in Taiwan. Kagome let her mind slip into darkness. She knew that this elderly woman wasn't someone who could be taken down quickly. Feng-Tao MeiWei was almost 95 and had experienced a lot.

Wei WuCai held Kagome close to his body as the stooped, ancient woman shuffled into the living room of his grandparents and the heads of the Wei Family. He gave a slight bow of his head as he saw not only his mother, Tan Mo, and Wei Ziqain stand but also his grandfather and grandmother. They bowed with reverence to this elderly lady who was even their elder.

"WuCai, take Kagome to rest," Tan Mo, Wei Ziqain's fiance, said softly, drawing his attention from the scene.

Nodding in agreement, he walked into the hall and froze. Just outside the living room door were Kagome's Uncle, cousins, brothers, and father. A man he held respect for and was an older carbon copy of the twins LongWang and LongWei. A man who separated from his family to pursue a political career as an international peace and goodwill ambassador.

He couldn't help but feel drops of cold sweat suddenly roll down his back at the glares he was receiving from those six men. The pressure they exuded was ridiculous.

"WuCai, ignore these gentlemen. We need to get her settled and comfortable," Tan Mo said from behind him, causing him to break free of the Feng family men. And I will stay with her until she wakes up. You should hurry back here to what you intended to do. Ziqain and I support you."

Tan Mo's words eased the knot in his chest that he had been unaware of. Then he saw them flinch when Elder MeiWei's voice floated from the room.

"I've seen all kinds in my long life of 95 years of living. You think your small-time politician husband, Su Bing, is shit made of gold. This daughter is a shallow white lotus who wants to climb above her status quo. And you, a member of the Wei family due to your sister's marriage, have the rotten guts to plan to marry your nephew to such a 'weak and petty' bitch!"

Then, without a second glance at the six men, he walked in long strides to his bedroom, which the elders kept in the old mansion. Once he had Kagome on the bed tucked in and comfortable, he looked at Tan Mo, gave her a nod, and left to return to the living room.

Before he reached it, he heard Elder MeiWei still talking. He realized that he now knew where Kagome got the ability to slash and stab with her words in such a vicious manner.

I've lived long enough to see that my Feng family is less than a small-time Beijing Mayor. I guess I don't need to live anymore."

"Elder Madame Feng, please calm down!"

"Elder Madame, that's not what I meant!"

He could barely see the living room through the Feng family men. Yet the panicked cries from his auntie and Mrs. Cao told him plenty.

"Alright, it is time for the uninvited guest to leave, and we cannot entertain such big buddhas in our home since we are so lowly. Our family and the Feng family have much to talk about."

At the sound of his grandmother speaking, Wei WuCai stepped back as those before him parted to give the three women who came uninvited a path to walk. Seeing his aunt and the other two red-faced and rushing to leave with their tails tucked between their legs was oddly satisfying.

"Little Xiao WuCai, come here and explain why you wanted our families to talk," his mother called out to him.

Casting a glance as he passed through the six men who seemed to be crowding the doorway again, Wei WuCai steeled himself and sat on the couch as soon as possible.

"I want to marry Kagome. But there is a problem; she is still married to an abusive manipulator," He said bluntly. "Also, I have gathered in the last year vital intel to help facilitate the divorce easier and a plan to execute it while making sure that bastard and all who are involved suffer for a very long time."

000000000

Kagome sat in a daze, staring blankly ahead. A lot had happened in the past year since she had first gone to the Wei family's old residence. She, not the original host, had reconnected with the Feng Family. Though the original host was spiteful about it, refusing to acknowledge it, they were overprotective because they loved her and were not trying to control her.

Kagome had also strengthened her spiritual Qi and learned of the plan to help her divorce the original host husband and abuser.

A plan her current pseudo-lover had concocted and worked on with the men of the Feng Family. It was a much bigger fiasco than she thought. The divorce couldn't be kept silent since it involved the Feng Family, one of China's oldest families that has produced generations of top scholars and generals for the great imperial families throughout history.

They'd settled in Taiwan at the end of the last Imperial family, the Hans.

Her father was a peace and goodwill ambassador sent to Ireland. Her late mother was the daughter of a high-level government official, so that helped to make the waves bigger.

Then, her marriage had been registered in England, where the duche husband was born and raised. Thus, the affair is shoved onto the international stage due to laws, politics, and ancestry. It left Kagome wondering who the original host pissed off in a previous life!

"Order in the Court!"

Soon, silence filled the International Criminal Court (ICO). The opening statements were made by the agents appointed by each country. With three countries that could be considered political powerhouses, it took a long time. In total, three rest breaks were given over the span of four days.

It left her head spinning as she processed all she was learning. The UN Security Council asked for specifics about certain 'incidents,' causing all parties involved to testify at will. For this, Kagome allowed the original host to come forward. Her accounts of dates and times burned into her memory through the trauma that she had suffered. Trauma could never truly be forgotten, just hidden.

The loud rebuttal from the duch spouse and the skinny faux blonde named Nicole Anna O'shaughnessy caused the lead Judge to slam his gavel.

Then came the Doctor and nurses who ' always treated' her when she had 'accidents.' They had been hidden away by the Wen Family at Lanshan as a form of protection so they couldn't be bribed or disposed of. But what left Kagome in shock was the Doctor. He'd made copies of all her medical records and annotated them, including the bribery funds he had taken from the duche and Miss Nicole.

Learning she had her blood stolen for this bitch who sold it at black market prices since it was a rare blood type made Kagome angry. Her brothers and father exposed this self-entitled brat. Kagome also learned her grandmother's family had a unique mutation that made it oddly compatible for transfusions and studying things like poisons and diseases.

Slowly but surely, the case came to a close. The duche and his faux blonde side piece were sentenced to life on death row without parole. She got her divorce and was now a free woman. The original host said goodbye before passing on after the trial.

Wei WuCai watched as the Feng family men tried to appease and coax Kagome. He had long guessed she had forgiven them, but due to years of stress, anxiety, and being shut off due to her 'life choices,' she was making it difficult on purpose.

He had already waited four years, and now that he was over thirty, he wasn't going to wait any longer. She was what he wanted, and he always got what he wanted, even if he had to take it. WuCai knew he'd not take anything by force from her.

Some of their conversations since the trail had left them both raw and bare. WuCai knew his feelings had not cooled but had grown into a hard-to-suppress inferno. When she had brought up being unable to have children, he had told her they could surrogate since she still had her ovaries or adopt that he would continue to be patient with her to be able to be intimate with her fully. WuCai had felt frustrated as he convinced her that he had a good idea of the depth of her trauma and could wait, telling her that thirty years of no female companionship could be extended further.

Yet the strong, his biggest statement, which even floored her family, was that she was a strong yet fragile woman who was worth waiting for.

Wei WuCai saw Kagome look at him and flash with a hint of a smile as the men. It was nice to see warmth in her eyes, and it made his heart beat a little faster as he kept a blank face. She, Kagome, had his heart, and he'd do anything for her. Well, short of killing, then he'd have to involve her family.

THE END~
