It was well past midnight, and Asher and Jerome were supposed to be fast asleep, but the day's hilarious events just wouldn't stop replaying in their minds. Curled up under the covers, the room was quiet, but neither of them could resist bringing up Anna Redman one last time.
Asher turned on his side, half-asleep but still chuckling as he whispered, "So, did you catch that line where Anna said she's not 'entertaining men for money'? The girl acts like she's some kind of martyr on national television."
Jerome let out a sleepy laugh, rolling his eyes in the dark. "Oh, I caught it. It's hard to ignore when she practically screamed it to the cameras. And honestly? I'm so over her. She's, like, an unstoppable force of unnecessary drama. Meanwhile, poor Brittany is just trying to make it through the show."
Asher chuckled, nodding in agreement. "You know, maybe we should get Brittany to show up at the talent show. Imagine the look on Anna's face if she walked in, looking amazing and unbothered, while Riverdale gives her a warm welcome."
Jerome laughed, shaking his head. "Oh, if Brittany walked into Riverdale, Veronica and I would roll out the red carpet. Anna wouldn't know what hit her."
Asher grinned at the idea, still half-joking. "It would be iconic. And honestly, she deserves a fun night out after all the nonsense Anna put her through. But… maybe she should keep away from Veronica's Instagram. V's going to be watching Anna like a hawk after today."
Jerome was about to respond when his phone suddenly buzzed on the nightstand. They both froze, staring at each other with wide eyes.
"You don't think…" Asher whispered, raising an eyebrow. "It's Veronica, isn't it?"
Jerome reached over, grabbing his phone and unlocking it to see a text from Veronica. He showed the screen to Asher, who was now fully awake.
The text read: "You two won't believe this: Anna Redman just DMed me."
Jerome's eyes widened, and he quickly typed back, "What?! What did she say?"
Asher sat up in bed, watching Jerome's screen intently. "No way. Do you think she's mad about the comment?"
Jerome shrugged, just as their phones buzzed again. Veronica had responded: "I barely even had a chance to read the message before she blocked me. I'm not joking."
Asher and Jerome stared at each other in utter disbelief, bursting into laughter.
"Oh my god!" Asher said, clutching his stomach. "She blocked Veronica? She must've been really triggered by that comment."
Jerome shook his head, trying to control his laughter. "I can't believe it. Anna went through the trouble of messaging her just to block her immediately after. Talk about committing to the drama."
Asher wiped a tear from his eye, still laughing. "Do you think she's just doing damage control at this point? Like, trying to figure out who's coming for her and getting rid of them one by one?"
Jerome grinned, shaking his head. "If that's her strategy, she's going to have her work cut out for her. She'd better start blocking Bachelor fans left and right."
They shared a look, both of them basking in the absurdity of it all. Jerome sent one last text to Veronica before setting his phone back on the nightstand: "Well, congrats, V! You officially got under her skin. Sleep well, Queen."
Veronica's response came almost immediately: "Oh, you know I will. Goodnight, troublemakers. "
With that, Jerome and Asher finally let themselves settle back under the covers, a satisfied smile on each of their faces. They both turned off their phones, letting the peace of the night sink in.
"Best Instagram drama ever," Jerome murmured, still amused.
"Couldn't agree more," Asher whispered, giving him a gentle kiss on the forehead. "Now, finally, let's get some sleep."
And as they drifted off, they couldn't help but feel a new level of closeness to their quirky little town and their no-nonsense friend Veronica. With Anna's drama fading from their minds, they relaxed fully, letting themselves sink into the warmth and comfort of each other's arms.
