Hello all. I know as you're wondering. How's my hiatus so far? Boring, to say the least. But I've been really busy working on other fate projects such as Falsus Heartland, the third Grand Genesis saga story in the Fate: Compilation series. So to be as transparent and honest as possible. I will provide some questions as of late.
[Question 1: Is Arc 2 still being worked on?]
Answer: I made some small progress here and there but the release of Metaphor ReFantazio has been keeping me distracted. Trust me, it's a really good game coming from ATLUS and SEGA. But all and all, pushing for more fantasy was the right move but… my creativity on this story has been slowing down. To make this tough and yet, painful decision… Birthscion Genesis will be put on an indefinite hiatus for the time being. I don't know when or how long it takes. It's just that working on an ambitious story like this is challenging. I wanted to challenge myself to explore new ideas that haven't been done before like how I made a Fate story set in a world like ours as a fantasy story. But the more time and ideas I want to implement takes a toll on me. I have to step away from that story for who knows when. I know you're disappointed, I know I'm disappointed. Thus, a decision must be made. Should there be updates, I'll try to let you know… when I'm able.
[Question 2: With Birthscion Genesis now in hiatus. What will you do now?]
Answer: As of currently, the third fate story part of the Grand Genesis Saga known as Fate: falsus Heartland is being worked on by me personally. I wanted to go back to a tried and true battle royale format when I published Paradisus Scramble, a story with a unique take set in a "utopian" showcase city filled with conspiracy and corruption. Novissima Dissonance, a tale all about revenge and hatred. And Hyalus Decadence, a story that explores the secret behind the existence of the "Genesis". As for Falsus Heartland, it is somewhat the accumulation of all three stories but with a higher emphasis on mystery and legacy. Of course, character development and world building remains at the forefront for my stories.
[Question 3: Would Falsus Heartland act as the conclusion to the Grand Genesis Saga?]
Answer: Yes. There are many questions left unanswered like Jin Adashino's sacrifice in Hyalus Decadence and Yusei Hieda's journey to search for the third vessel found in the third world. Logos and Pneuma are part of Ultima. There is a third one that has yet to be revealed so I won't be going into full details yet. While the Grand Genesis Saga would potentially end to close the books on the mysterious existence of Ultima. A new saga would open in the future… If fate such as this allows it (No pun intended).
[Question 4: What is the future for the Fate Compilation series?]
Answer: Honestly, I don't know. But I loved one thing that I enjoyed the most as a hobby: making stories as a form of escapism from the harsh, dystopian reality we live in. Time will always continue on. We'll continue to age and grow older with each passing time. Even like 4 years or 8 years later, we all might as well move on and do something productive in life. Maybe one day, I'll make a proper novel that isn't fan-fiction and make something original. Who knows when it will happen, y'know?
[Question 5: And what of your future, then?]
Answer: This is a hard question that I'm always trying to figure out. At this point in the future, should something happen to me like me passing away or not being active enough on publishing new chapters for existing stories I've worked on. Me living such a mundane life is pretty much my thing. I love making stories. I do. But sometimes, whenever you're feeling down or hitting at the lowest point because something has happened in reality, no matter how bad or awful it is, I will still make stories to make worlds captivating. But to say the least, with my future, I'm not going anywhere. Fate will always be one of my favorite series to this day. No matter what.
Well, that does it with the update. I know you wanted to see more of this story but there are so many loose ends at the moment. So it'll be better for me to work on something else within Fate Compilation in order to close out the Strange Grail Saga for good. Alright, I guess I'm done here.
