Freya, Steve, Monica and Darcy congregate in the evidence and data room of the main building. Jimmy had ventured off to grab everyone coffee. Monica is currently hellbent on trying to figure out a way back into the anomaly while the other three silently sit by and watch the show. The twins had somehow found a dog and aged up to ten. Also, Vision is now obviously suspicious of Agnes' behavior. Which validates Freya's feelings about her even more so.
"Okay. Okay, I've got it," Monica suddenly announces. Pulling the other three's attention back to her. She detaches her marker from the whiteboard in front of her and turns to them. "What I need is a 10,000-pound fallout shelter comprised of lead for photons, cadmium for neutrons, tantalum for seismic blasts, on wheels," she cringes. The other three look at each other, unconvinced, as she continues. "And then, I would be able to safely re-enter Westview. Right?"
"Yes. Theoretically," Darcy hesitantly responds.
"I can work with theoretically," Monica nods.
"Just keep an open mind, Mon," Freya warns. "This is more than just science. You know that."
"Yeah, I know," Monica sighs with a frown.
"What'd I miss?" Jimmy asks as he walks in with both hands full of coffee cups.
"The twins aged up to ten," Steve tells him as he helps with the cups.
"Holy Christmas. At this rate they'll be empty nesters by dinner time," Jimmy says in disbelief. Freya just lets out an amused snort and takes a drink of her coffee.
"Coffee isn't bothering you right now?" Darcy asks.
"No, why? Should it be?" Freya tilts her head in confusion.
"I had a friend that couldn't even stand the smell of coffee when she was pregnant," Darcy tells her. "Made her morning sickness way worse."
"No, I'm fine," Freya shrugs. "Barely any morning sickness too."
"I know some women who'd be mighty envious of you right now," Monica chuckles.
"Don't remind me," Freya scrunches her face up in discomfort.
Even though she's an Avenger and Tony Stark raised her, she's never liked the spotlight. It makes her miss her assassin days. Get in, get the mission done, and get out without anyone knowing. Everything her and Steve now do is on display for everyone to see. Especially after news of their marriage broke when they went on the run after a civil war broke out between the Avengers. They had tried to keep it as quiet as possible, but someone had managed to find out.
"I know an aerospace engineer who'd be up for this challenge," Monica smiles wryly. Freya quirks an eyebrow in interest as she waits for Monica to reveal her contact. Monica grabs her phone and begins to type up a text until Darcy interrupts her.
"But I can't guarantee the Hex won't just mind-wipe you as you go in."
"Wait. What's a Hex?" Monica asks in confusion as her thumbs freeze over her phone screen.
"Oh, um, it's what I'm calling the anomaly because of its hexagonal shape," Darcy smiles proudly. "It's starting to catch on." Monica glances at the other three, who try to subtly shake their heads. Darcy sees this and rolls her eyes. "You really wanna go back in there? After everything she's put you through?"
Freya frowns at that. But she knows Darcy is only trying to look out for Monica and doesn't mean any harm by her words.
"Yeah," Monica says confidently. "Yes, I do." She nods at Darcy, who has a shocked look on her face. Freya smiles at Monica proudly, who returns it with a small smile of her own.
"Have we identified these minors yet?" Jimmy asks as he walks up to one of the screens. "Or the newborns?"
"Oh, Wanda's twins are hers," Monica answers. Freya instantly becomes extremely interested in what Monica has to say since she was inside the anomaly. "Everything might look fake in the TV, but everything in there is real."
"But, Wanda manipulates people's perceptions, makes them hallucinate," Jimmy responds.
"Yeah, that's her whole bag," Darcy agrees.
"No, it's not," Freya chuckles.
"It's not?" Darcy asks.
"Oh, not even close," Steve nods.
"What else can she do?" Jimmy presses.
"Well, look at me as an example," Freya shrugs. "Her and I are similar when I comes to our powers. There's different layers to each ability. They evolve over time. She's the one who taught me how to use my magic to create physical objects."
"Wait, you can spontaneously manifest stuff?" Darcy asks excitedly.
Freya silently sticks up her free hand. There's an almost invisible shimmer around it before an FBI badge appears in her hand. Jimmy gasps and walks up to her. He hesitantly takes the badge when she holds it out to him with a smile. He gently flips it over in his hands before curiously sniffing it. His eyes go wide and he looks up at Darcy and Monica.
"It's real," Jimmy says in shock.
"No way!" Darcy squeals. She jumps up from her seat and yanks the badge out of Jimmy's hands to look at it.
"When could you do that?" Monica asks with a proud smile.
"After our second fight with Thanos, Wanda started helping me retrain my abilities since I'd lost them. We found out that I can now do that. I've also recreated Loki's scepter and the Tesseract."
"But, how?" Jimmy asks.
"Her magic," Steve chuckles.
"Yep," Freya nods. "I get my magic from Loki. For a long time, I originally thought I received power from the stones. But I've come to realize that the Space and Mind Stones just enhanced everything. And I recently just seemingly unlocked my full power. So I don't even know what I can fully do. Scientifically speaking, I technically shouldn't be able to do that. But, magic," she shrugs. "It's a loophole."
"So is Wanda the same then?" Jimmy asks.
"That's a hard question to answer," Freya frowns.
"Well, if all the sets and props and wardrobe are solid matter, that would mean she's wielding an insane amount of power," Darcy says.
"Far exceeding anything she's displayed in the past," Jimmy agrees.
"Uh, her and Frey could've taken out Thanos both together or on their own if he hadn't initiated a blitz," Monica interjects. "I mean, besides them, nobody else came close."
"Well, I'd argue that Captain Marvel, Freya's mom, came close," Jimmy shrugs. Freya sees the look on Monica's face at the mention of Carol and frowns with worry.
"Hey, you okay?" Freya asks Monica.
Monica looks up at Freya and gives her a small, thankful smile.
"I'm fine," Monica nods.
"Her powers came from an Infinity Stone, too, right?" Darcy asks Freya.
"Yeah, my mom got her powers from energy from the Tesseract, aka the Space Stone." Freya pauses in thought for a moment. "But, I mean, that's what we've all thought about Wanda with the Mind Stone since we met her," Freya responds as she nibbles at the edge of her coffee cup. "But what if that isn't the case? What if she's more like me than we thought?"
"That she already had powers?" Steve asks.
"I mean, maybe," Freya shrugs. "We never explored that possibility because we always thought the Stone is the source of her powers. What if it only juiced her up?"
"Do you think your mom might have some insight on this?" Darcy asks.
"My mom is galaxies away," Freya sighs. "She's got bigger things going on."
"And we are not talking about her," Monica says as she walks over to the magnetic board. "We are talking about Wanda." Jimmy and Darcy look at Freya in question, who only ignores their stares. Monica reaches up and plucks the picture of the colorized, retro S.W.O.R.D. drone off the board. "Darcy... what was that you were saying about props and sets and...-"
"-Wardrobe?" Darcy asks.
Freya's eyes go wide when she suddenly thinks of something. Monica meets her gaze with wide eyes of her own.
"Fish pants," Freya mumbles.
"Where's the lab?" Monica smiles.
Jimmy and Darcy quickly lead everyone to the lab. When they round the corner into the room, they're met with Monica's outfit from the anomaly.
"What are we lookin' for?" Jimmy asks.
"That," Monica answers as she walks up to her outfit. She grabs a scanner and begins to go over the pants with it.
"Oh, man, are we being mind-controlled to see that right now?" Darcy asks.
"Jeepers creepers," Jimmy mumbles.
"Oh, no, they're real alright," Monica tells them. She walks back over to everyone else and reaches for Jimmy's gun. "Can I borrow this?" She doesn't even wait for permission before she's yanking it from the holster.
"Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa," Jimmy protests. Freya reaches out and blocks him from walking forward to retrieve his gun. "Okay, never mind," he mumbles.
Monica shoots four rounds into the pants while Darcy covers her ears. Steve is watching in confusion when the bullets don't even harm the pants. Freya just smiles.
"Whoa!" Darcy chokes out.
Jimmy walks forward while Monica hands his gun back to him. He holsters it and kneels to pick up a bullet. It's completely flattened. All of them are.
"You had a bulletproof vest on when you went inside, didn't you?" Jimmy asks Monica.
"These pants are 87% Kevlar," Monica nods. "It's not an illusion."
"Wanda is literally rewriting reality," Freya chuckles in disbelief.
"Permanently?" Darcy asks.
"Well, the outfit didn't change back," Steve nods.
"If she can change things as they go into the Hex..." Monica begins.
"Ah, you called it the Hex," Darcy grins. Monica just playfully rolls her eyes and continues.
"What happens if we send something in that requires no change?" Monica asks. Freya gasps when she has an epiphany.
"Does S.W.O.R.D. have any of my grandfather's old tech?" Freya asks her.
"I was thinking the same thing," Monica grins.
They all hurry off the have an old Stark drone from the 80's shipped out to them within the hour. Once it arrives, Hayward has his techs set it up before Monica can get her hands on it. Freya and Steve stand off to the side while they wait for launch. Once it's time, they both watch the monitors anxiously.
"I don't have a good feeling about this," Freya mumbles.
"About the drone?" Steve quietly asks. She just nods silently as an answer. "What's wrong?"
"Wanda isn't gonna be too happy when she sees that thing," Freya frowns. "I just have a feeling she's gonna tell us to get off her lawn."
