Freya and Steve climb into the funnel cake truck that Darcy and Vision had stolen and get on the road once more. There's no where for Freya and Steve to sit, so they're forced to cling on to the front seats.
"So, I started filling him in on what happened, but you might be a better fit for that, Frey," Darcy says over her shoulder.
"Um, okay," Freya starts hesitantly. "Time for a life crash course. Uh, where to start...? Oh, right, JARVIS."
Freya fills Vision in as quickly as she can while trying not to overwhelm him. Once she's finished, Vision stares at the dash in front of him. Completely silent. Freya glances at Steve worriedly, hoping she didn't upset him.
"Sooo..." Vision finally says as he drags out the "o". "Wanda killed me?"
"Um, yes," Freya cringes. "But it's not that simple. You asked her to do it."
"Why would I have done that?" Vision questions in confusion.
"To save the universe," Steve answers.
"Well, half of it," Darcy adds.
"Did it work?" Vision asks.
"It did..." Freya begins hesitantly. "Until Thanos used the Time Stone to rewind time to not only kick my ass, but to also kill you himself."
"There are a few extra steps," Steve nods. "But to set up the context..."
"I came back and died again," Vision says defeatedly.
"And she had to watch," Freya frowns. Vision looks over at her, the sadness easily readable in his eyes.
"Oh, man, another red light?" Darcy groans.
"What the hell?" Steve mumbles.
"It's kinda overkill out in the sticks here, don't you think?" Darcy asks.
"Yes," Vision says suspiciously. Freya looks over at him just as he looks up at her. They lock eyes and she raises an eyebrow at him in question. He looks back at the stop light and narrows his eyes.
"Are you thinking this is Wanda?" Freya asks him.
"It's very possible," Vision sighs as the light turns green.
"Also, it never rains in Westview, right?" Darcy asks as she turns the windshield wipers on. "Whoa!" Darcy yells as she slams on the brakes. A crew of electricians suddenly appear out of nowhere and block the intersection with their truck. Darcy sits back in the driver's seat with a scoff of annoyance. "Yeah, great. Just take your time, fellas."
"So if I understand correctly, my original code dates back to an AI called JARVIS?" Vision asks.
"Yep," Freya nods. "I helped my dad create JARVIS."
"But my corporeal form," Vision continues. "Was born of Ultron's plan for global genocide?"
"Correct-o," Darcy answers.
"What am I now?" he asks.
"Honestly, I'm a STEM type of lady," Darcy shrugs. "So I thought she just flipped a switch on your head and brought you back to life. That was until Freya came up with her theory, which makes way more sense."
Vision looks over at Freya in anticipation of her answer. Freya pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs.
"What I think happened," Freya begins slowly. "Is that Hayward lied about Wanda taking your body. I never believed Wanda would do that to you. What I think she did is create a whole other you. One that is very much real, Vision," Freya reassures him.
"But what I don't get is why you can't leave the Hex," Darcy frowns.
Vision looks down at his hands defeatedly after hearing everything. Freya's heart breaks at the expression on his face. She reaches down under his chin and gently tilts his face up to look at her.
"What I do know," Freya smiles. "Is I've been watching WandaVision for the past week. And the love that you and Wanda share is so amazingly real and pure, Vision." A hopeful look sparks in his eyes, making Freya nod. "You two belong together."
"Thank you, Frey," Vision smiles.
Steve places a gentle hand on Freya's shoulder, making her look up at him. She's met with a proud smile as he pulls her into his side and presses a kiss to the top of her head.
"Aren't they so cute?" Darcy gushes to Vision.
"Yes, they are quite the adorable couple," Vision chuckles. "Do you two have any kids?"
"Uh, well, she's actually carrying two right now," Steve smiles as he places a hand over Freya's stomach.
"Congratulations!" Vision grins. "I hope to meet them someday."
"You will," Freya nods confidently.
"Is there anything you can tell me about Wanda and I?" Vision asks her. "I don't remember anything about her and I before Westview..."
"Of course," Freya smiles. "Hmm, let me think... Ah! Okay, so, after Ultron, we all moved into the Avengers Compound together. I honestly miss those days," she smiles sadly. "It was like a giant family under one roof. But, anyway, back on topic. Wanda had just lost her brother, Pietro-"
"The same Pietro that showed up at our house?" Vision interrupts.
"No, that was definitely not Pietro," Freya tells him. "I don't know who that was."
"Sorry to interrupt," Vision nods. "Continue, please."
"So, Wanda had just lost her brother during our fight with Ultron. The only person she would speak to was me. But, you couldn't help but want to make her feel better," Freya smiles. "You would visit her constantly and always check on her. To the point that she told me that she looked forward to your visits. You two even got into the habit of watching old sitcoms," Freya tells him before laughing. "Your favorite was Malcolm in the Middle. You loved watching Hal get hurt all the time."
"That sounds like I would've enjoyed that very much," Vision chuckles. "Thank you. I needed that."
"Any time, Vis," Freya pats his shoulder.
"Okay, let's wrap it up!" one of the workers shouts.
"Yes, finally," Darcy grumbles. Just as the electricians leave, a crossing guard suddenly appears out of nowhere, holds up a stop sign and blows her whistle as she begins to wave kids across the street. "Oh, come on!" Darcy yells.
"Kids? What's next, puppies?" Steve asks. Darcy snorts in agreement.
"Have you spoken with Wanda at all?" Vision asks Freya.
"Not recently, no," she shakes her head. "I have spoken with Billy though."
"Billy? My son? How?" Vision asks.
"Billy has powers. So I'm fairly certain Tommy has some sort of powers as well," Freya informs him. "I'm worried though. I was speaking with Billy earlier while he was on his way to Agnes' house with Tommy. Then, the connection just disappeared. I couldn't hear him anymore."
"Is he okay? Are my sons okay?" Vision asks worriedly.
"As far as I know they're okay," Freya nods.
"What about Wanda?" he asks.
Freya tilts her head and realizes she hasn't tried to reach out to Wanda since she had severed their connection. Reaching her mind out, she searches for Wanda to attempt to speak to her. But, she can't find her. She can't even sense her mind.
"I... I can't find her," Freya says in slight panic. "Vision, I can't find Wanda."
"I need to get to my wife," Vision says before phasing and flying through the roof of the truck.
"Vision!" Freya calls after him. She looks over at Steve and he nods.
"Go after him," Steve tells her. "I'll stay with Darcy to make sure she's okay. We'll catch up to you guys. But, please, be careful, Doll. I can't stress that enough."
"I know, Spangles. I'll be careful," Freya smiles. "I love you."
"And I love you," Steve smiles down at her before planting a sweet kiss on her lips. "Oh, wait," he suddenly says before she can leave. "Do you have my stuff?"
"Oh, right!" Freya replies. She raises her right hand and conjures Mjölnir and his shield out of thin air. She hands them over to him with a smile and he presses another gentle kiss to her lips in thanks.
"Whoa..." Darcy whispers in awe. "I can't get over how awesome that is!"
Freya winks at Darcy before opening the passenger door of the truck and blasting off into the air after Vision. She easily catches up with him and falls in place on his right.
"You really didn't think I was gonna let you go off on your own, did you?" Freya teases. He smiles and shakes his head. Out of nowhere, Freya begins to sense Wanda and the twins. "Vis, I can feel Wanda and the twins' energy signatures now. I don't know how or why, but they seem okay for the moment."
"Oh, thank God," Vision sighs.
"Lets get over to them and see what's going o-" Freya suddenly stops mid air with a gasp. There's a new energy signature. But it feels like it's outside the Hex. Vision notices this and abruptly flies back to her.
"What's wrong, Frey? Is it my family?" Vision asks. Freya tilts her head as she explores the energy signature more.
"No. No, it's not them. The energy signature, it's familiar. It feels like..."
"Like what?" Vision presses.
"Like you," she whispers. Her eyes go wide and her stomach drops. "Oh, no. He did it... Hayward did it..."
"Did what, Freya?" Vision asks. "I don't understand what's going on. What did Hayward do?"
"He brought you back," she reveals. "Your body that he still has. He found a way to power it without the stone. How the hell did he..." Freya pauses and thinks for a moment before closing her eyes and sighing in frustration. "The drone. Wanda's aura was still surrounding it when Hayward's men took it in for analysis. They must have found a way to syphon the energy from it and place it in your body."
"What does that mean? If there's two of me. Why does Hayward want that?" Vision questions.
"Well, first and foremost, he wants to use you as his own personal weapon. Because I'm pretty sure he has it out for powered people," Freya tells him. "But, right now, specifically Wanda."
"We need to go," Vision urges. Freya nods and they both take off again and fly as fast as they can.
