The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 1, Episode 10: The 12-Step Job. Well, it is actually more in between Episodes 9 and 10, but I'm just calling it a lead in to 10.
No direct quotes in this one!
The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Prompt: "Are you sober?"
"I'm moderately functional."
"I'll take that as a no."
Pru groaned as she watched Nate Ford stumble into the Leverage, Inc., offices. Ever since her practically brother, Alec Hardison, had hired her to act as the home base front for the crew, it had become painfully obvious to her that no one (on the crew at least) was going to put a limit on how much they were going to let Nate drink. Pru knew that they hadn't been a crew for much longer than she'd been working with them (and Alec had told her, after some persuading on her part, what Nate was going through), but she didn't feel like it was her place to say anything yet. Maybe that was going to change.
She stood and made her way towards the mastermind, who seemed to think that bending over under Alec's painting of Harlan Leverage the Third (or "Old Nate" as she and Parker called it) was his best choice. Rolling her eyes, Pru crossed her arms as she looked down at him.
"Nathan."
"Ugh." Unintelligible words at their finest. Cue another eye roll.
"I'm going to need a better answer than that."
Groan. "Leave me alone, Prudence."
"Well, that's better. I guess." Pru muttered under her breath as she squatted down to see his face a bit better. Raising her voice slightly, she asked, "Are you sober?"
"I'm moderately functional."
Pru groaned as she stood and shook her head. "I'll take that as a no."
"Just leave me alone."
"Nathan, you can't stay in the lobby of the offices. Unless you want to sleep on the floor out here, that is. Not to mention, you've got a perfectly good couch in your office that I know you've slept on before. Why not go there?"
"You've got a point."
"I have those every so often. Need a hand?"
"No."
As she watched Nate continue to stumble through the offices, Pru made herself a promise. After the next job, she was sitting down with Nate to address his drinking. Enough was enough.
