The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 1, Episode 2: The Homecoming Job.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au. Rated M just to be on the safe side.

NOTE: this one-shot includes direct word quotes from the episode. Sometimes, however, I will just change who has the lines, partially to integrate Pru more into the scene.

A big thanks to the Leverage, Seriously, website, who has posted the pretty accurate transcripts from the entire original series. You can find it at .net

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "You-you are- "

"Beautiful, a genius, immensely talented."

"Dangerous."

Pru sighed. She was currently sitting at the front desk (also known as her desk) at the offices of Leverage Consulting and Associates, moving papers and keeping half an eye on her computer, which currently had a split screen. On half was the feed from Charles DuFort's office (so that she could keep an eye on Nathan), while the other half had the feed from the hallway by Congressman Jenkins' office in D.C. (this one to keep an eye on Sophie), as Pru listened to them on comms. At least Nathan seemed to finally decide on a job that he wanted to have her do for the time being; watching monitors and listening in on comms. She rolled her eyes and turned her attention fully to the monito; it seemed as though Sophie was ready to begin.

"Congressman Jenkins." Pru was glad to be able to listen in on Sophie's meeting (Alec had informed her that he was listing to Nathan's part, so they were covered). She hadn't dealt with many grifters before, so Pru was taking the chance to really watch Sophie work.

"European countries will aid the United States in foreign operations if they know that European companies are going to reap some of the benefits. Some help in the Appropriations bill…"

"I support American companies."

"Like Castleman?"

"Like Castleman. And they support the…country."

Pru scoffed as Sophie continued, "I didn't pick you at random, congressman. Castleman can be a fickle friend. Rumor has it that they're looking for some fresh blood. You should look out for the signs, congressman. Missed phone calls, no more little favors."

"Those are the same signs that your wife is cheating on you."

"That's right."

"And what am I supposed to do when that happens?"

"Play the field."

Pru widened her eyes. This woman was practically lethal. Once she saw that Sophie was clear of the congressman, Pru pressed her comm to unmute it. "Miss Deveraux?"

"Please call me Sophie, Prudence."

"Then it's Pru, Sophie. I just wanted to say that you are…"

"Beautiful, a genius, immensely talented?"

Pru scoffed. "Dangerous is what I was going to say. I'll see you and Parker at the airport."

"Then I'll see you soon."
