"G'morning, sweetheart," Poppy felt his lips move against hrr nape and she couldn't help but shiver a bit because of how deep Branch's voice gets in the morning, "what do you want for breakfast?"
The Pop Queen tried to think of an answer as she snuggled deeper into his arms, "pancakes?"
"You'll have to help me," Branch said and Poppy felt him dragging her up into a seating position, "come on, love, rise and shine!"
"Branch," Poppy whined with her eyes still closed and then she felt a small flick on her forehead, "oww!"
The Pop Queen opened her eyes to glare at him while she covered her forehead but when she saw the teal troll looking at her so fondly, Poppy had to lower head down again as a telling blush spread across her cheeks.
"You're so cute but come on, it's time to get out of bed!" Branch carried Poppy off the bed until she was ready to stand on her own.
The Pop Queen slowly followed Branch to the kitchen as she tried to rub the sleep away from her eyes. When Poppy opened them again she saw him struggling with the things he needed for the pancakes and she couldn't help but let out a small giggle that had Poppy covering her mouth.
The teal troll looked at Poppy with what could be classified as puppy dog eyes and she had to mentally resist melting right there and then.
"Come on," Poppy worked her way towards him while going through the different drawers to gather the things that they needed for the pancakes.
The Pop Queen handed him the bowl with all the dry ingredients in it and added the wet ingredients like the eggs and milk. She watched Branch scrunch his nose in concentration and Poppy couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. The Pop Queen shook her head as she heated up the pan and sprayed some oil on it, "Are those ready, Branch?"
"I think so?" The teal troll handed Poppy the bowl and she poured the first pancake and the next until there was barely any batter left for another pancake. Poppy saw him looking at the bowl avidly and she couldn't help but snort, "Branch, I am not giving you the remaining batter stop looking at it."
"But babe-" "But no," Poppy handed Branch a plate stacked with pancakes with some fresh fruits and whipped cream on top and pushed the maple syrup towards him, "Here. They're ready."
The fond laughter that burst from her lips was understandable if everyone had the chance to see Branch perk up like a cute puppy being given treats.
