Chapter 15

Eddy shadowed Sam as the team took positions near the mining camp. Jack observed the camp below through a set of binoculars. He focused on the guards and noticed they were human as well. He did not see any Jaffa.

The operation itself looked rather primitive. Which Eddy found ironic for mining operations on Earth were rather sophisticated. To Eddy is seemed that using primitive mining methods was ironic considered the Goa'uld had advanced technology.

Daniel came to Sam's other side. The pair made observations together.

"Seems like your typical system lord slave operation." Daniel mentioned.

"Yup." Sam agreed.

Eddy asked. "Why are they using caveman methods to mine?"

Daniel explained. "It's to prevent the slaves from getting weapons and technology to rise up."

Eddy's Asgard genes influenced her reasoning. "But if they used automation they don't need slaves and would get a much higher yield."

Daniel and Sam traded glances.

"Asgard?" Daniel asked.

She nodded. "Must be Asgard genes."

Eddy miffed. "I'm just stating the obvious."

The mission soon went sour as they were spotted by a guard. SG-1 came under enemy fire. Jack made the call to retreat as the mission failed. As the team was falling back Sam took a hit to the lower leg. She fell to the ground.

"Carter!" Jack huffed worried as he saw he go down.

Eddy didn't have time. She placed her hand on Sam's wounded leg and went into the trance in an effort to aggressively heal. Doing so made Eddy vulnerable to the attack. As she healed Sam's led she was struck by a stun weapon. Eddy collapsed onto the ground beside Sam before she could finish healing Sam's wounded leg.

Sam still couldn't stand on her own. Daniel helped her up as Jack and Teal'c laid down a suppressing fire for the retreat.

"Cover me, T." Jack tried to get to Eddy but the fire became to heavy. He was soon struck in the arm and directly on the chest plate. He was forced to fall back. He looked on in horror as Eddy fell into the hands of Matit's guards. He would need backup to launch a rescue mission. He fell back with Teal'c with a gut wrenching feeling as he figured he let Thor down.

Meanwhile

Eddy found herself floating above her body. It was most odd sensation. She looked upon her own body laying motionless on the ground. Her thoughts was much like speaking as could herself clearly.

"I guess I'm dead." she declared. "Funny! I thought it would be more…where is the bright light?" she looked about. "No bright white light. What? Am I going to hell?" she feared. "Oh' great. I'm doomed. Just wonderful." she stated sarcastic. The floating sensation stopped and she felt whole again and standing on her feet. But no one seemed to see her. She looked at her body as the enemy guards picked her limp body up and carried it away. "Well…shit." she complained. "Now what the hell do I do?" She pondered. "Maybe I should follow my body to see what they do to me."

Eddy followed the guards who carried her body out of the mining camp and to a small castle on a hill that was hidden behind the pine trees. She miffed. "They watched us walk right in." she soon figured. She walked behind the guards into the stone castle. It looked like an old English castle from the days of Kings and Queens. She noted the statues of cats as she walked through the front door. She followed the guards deeper into the castle and into a throne room.

Sitting on a large red and gold thrown was an old woman, bent over and barley alive. Eddy watched as her body was laid before the dying queen. The queen raised a hand in approval. Eddy watched rather bewildered. She looked on as the guards removed her uniform and clothing. Leaving her body naked on the floor.

"How did I die?" she asked looking over her body. "I don't see any wounds."

The old queen was helped up and soon stripped of clothing. The old host was helped to the body that lay before her on the floor. The guards lowered her gently and lay the old queen on her side, back to Eddy's body. They then rolled Eddy's body so the two bodies were back to back.

Out of her body, Eddy witnessed the Goa'uld emerge from the old woman's body and then enter her own effortlessly.

She threw up her hands. "What the hell man!? I'm still alive? That snake just took my body. This sucks!" She huffed and motioned as if she was still in a body. "I'm out of my body so that bitch just took me."

With Eddy's conscious mind out of the body, Matit was able to take completely over. She settled into the new host and then rose to her feet. The guard lavished her with the royal robs.

"Oh' fuck no!" Eddy huffed. "Get out. I want my body back. Get out!" she yelled but no one could hear her. She kept screaming and screaming to no avail.

Hatit was seated on the throne once more. The old host had died the body was then carried away. She smiled most pleased with the new host and the ease of which she was able to take control.

"No, no, no!" Eddy huffed. "Get out. That's my body. You cannot have it." She threw up her hands. "I'm so fucked." she realized how bad the situation was. The guards left the throne room.

Matit sat pleased with her new host.

"I'm taking it back by force." she announced. She walked up to the Throne, stood before Matit. She then turned around and sat directly onto the throne herself trying to get back into her own body.

Matit felt the most strange energy as Eddy took back possession of her body. It was if electricity ran through her. Then, she realized she could not feel the left side of the body. It was most strange.

"Get out!" Eddy managed to speak.

"Host?" Matit became alarmed.

"Get out of my body." she spoke aloud.

Matit tried to suppress Eddy but found she could not. "How are you overcoming me?"

"Get out." Eddy tried to force her out but found she could not make the Goa'uld leave.

"I will not." Matit replied. She tried to suppress Eddy again but failed once more. "Why can I not control you?" she wondered.

"Get out of my head." Eddy demanded. She raised her left hand and smacked the side of her head as if trying to slap a fly.

"Stop that." Matit rebutted raising the right hand.

Eddy slapped the right hand. "You stop it. This is my body. Get out."

"I have taken you as my host. Now silence." Matit rebutted.

"Silence! Fuck, you are not talking to me like that. This is my body. You leave." she demanded.

Matit then realized she only had control of one leg. "Can you move the left leg?"

Eddy moved her leg by lifting it up. "Yup!" She then realized she had no control over half her body. "Wait! What the hell? Am I having a stoke?"

"The blending failed." Matit declared. "I shall require a new host."

"Wait! What? You mean take some other poor sap?" Eddy asked.

"Of course." she tried to keep her composure in a daunting situation.

"No!" You are not doing this shit to someone else." she shook her head.

"Silence." she repeated annoyed.

"Fuck you." Eddy huffed.

"You must be silent. If the other System Lords discover this mishap it will be seen as a weakness and they will attack." she warned.

Eddy told her. "You will have to buy my silence."

"What do you wish?" Matit demanded to know.

She smirked. "You do what I say and I will let all your little system lords think you are still in charge so no one will attack you."

"They will kill us both." Matit deemed.

"I'm already dead." she declared. "I saw you take me. I died and there was no bright light for me. I'm going to hell." she deemed. "We both are." she assumed. She had yet to realize what she had actually experienced.

Matit knew she was trapped. She could not get total control of the host and could only move half the body. She had no choice but to let Edna rule her kingdom.

It was a somber mood at Star Gate Command. No one was sure what became of Eddy but they were certain she fell into enemy hands and feared the worst. Jack found his office and took a seat behind his desk and began to draw up possible rescue plans.

Sam limped to his office using a single crutch. She found Jack in deep thought. "Sir." she called from the doorway.

"Come in, Carter." he motioned.

She hobbled in and took a seat across from Jack. "How you holding up?" she asked concerned. She noticed the bandage on his upper arm.

He replied. "Okay. You?"

"Okay." she mimicked.

They sat in silence for a moment. Jack finally spoke.

"This is as bad as losing Charlie." he declared.

"Sir?" she asked wondering why he compared it to his dead son.

He explained. "She's Thor's kid. I promised him that I would take care of her. I kind of adopted her. Now, I don't even know if she's dead or alive and Thor can't even help us."

Sam sighed. "All we can do now is wait for any reports from Chulak on her."

Jack pondered. "We never should have let her off world."

"She would have to go off world eventually, sir." Sam countered. "She's only half human."

"Which is why I wonder why a zat took her down like that?" he questioned.

Sam concluded. "She was trying to heal my leg. That must have placed her in a weakened state. Similar to the Nox." She then assured more herself. "We will get her back, sir."

"Hope so." he sighed.

Meanwhile

Edna and Matit faced a new problem. They needed to walk and neither had full control of the body.

Eddy asked. "Do you have a bathroom?"

"What is that?" Matit asked unsure. The Goa'uld found she could not access Edna's mind at all.

"I need to pee. You know. Urinate. You got a pot to piss in or what?" she barked.

"Of course. I'm not a barbarian." she snobbishly replied. "It's through that doorway." she point across the large throne room.

"We have to walk." Eddy stated the obvious.

"Yes." the Goa'uld queen agreed.

Eddy tried to push up but found with help, she didn't have the ability. "Okay, we both need to stand at the same time. You think you can do that?" she asked.

"Since I only have control of half your body it will be more difficult." Hatit assessed.

"When I count to three, we stand together." Eddy stated. "One, two, three."

Eddy and Matit both managed to push off the throne and into a standing position. Then Matit attempted to walk and pair fell down to the floor.

"You do not move without me telling you." Eddy huffed.

"I merely attempted to walk. Had you moved your leg, we would not have fallen." Matit complained.

Eddy drew on her firefighter training. She gave instructions. "We will stand back up and walk one step at a time. Put my right palm side down on the floor with elbow bent so we can push back up. I will do the same. One three we push up and stand. Understand?"

"I understand how to stand a human body." Matit retorted annoyed.

"On three." Eddy stated as she placed her left arm and hand in position. "One, two three, push."

It wasn't easy and the host and Goa'uld were very uncoordinated but they did manage to push up from the floor. Now, Eddy found herself in a pushup position as if in an exercise.

"Okay, I will draw my leg under my body and start to stand. You draw my other leg behind and grab the side of that ugly chair you sit on to stabilize us." She took a deep breath. "On three! One, two, three." She drew her leg up underneath her for leverage.

With as much grace as Goa'uld could muster, Matit drew the other leg and grabbed the side of the throne as they stood back up. Exhausted she took a break and paused. Never had she been in such a situation before.

Eddy kept focused on the task at hand. She gave the next instructions. "Okay! Now we need to walk. We will take one step at a time. I will go first. On three."

Matit sneered. "You counting method is annoying me."

"Oh just shut up." Eddy barked back. "One, two, three." She took one single step with her leg and foot. She wobbled a bit but managed to keep her balance. "Now my other leg. One three. One, two three."

Matit moved the leg as instructed.

"Good." Eddy found she moved exactly one step. She changed tactics. "Okay! My foot." she moved her leg and foot once forward. "My other foot." she instructed.

Matit moved the right foot.

"My foot." she repeated the step. "My other foot." she waited.

Matit moved the other foot.

"Alright." Eddy found they made progress. "Here we go. My foot, my right foot." She would not say "your foot" for to Eddy the right side of her body did not belong to Matit.

"My foot." Matit snorted as she moved the right foot determined to gain some control.

"No!" she shook her head. "It's not your foot. It's my foot. You stole my ass! This is my body. Not yours."

Matit replied. "I know your bladder is full. If you wish to empty it then I get the other foot." she snorted.

"I can hold it a long time." Eddy rebutted. "I've gone hours holding it. Do you really want to be the one system lord who pees herself?"

Matit tried to take control. "We shall cooperate to move. Now, your foot." she tried to take over the conversation.

Eddy moved her left foot forward.

"My foot." Matit snidely remarked as she moved the right foot.

"Fine." Eddy allowed for the one concession. "My foot." she moved her left foot. Your foot." she soured.

Matit moved the right. She spoke. "My foot." she moved the right. "Now your foot."

Eddy moved her left foot. She figured she better take over coaching or the Goa'uld would gain more control. "My foot." Eddy moved her foot. "Your foot. My foot. Your foot." Eddy coached as they awkwardly walked across the floor of the throne room.

As they got to the doorway Eddy complained. "You are a living nightmare."

Matit shot back. "As are you."
