"YAY! I actually managed to win, I can't believe it!"
"Alright Nejire! That was awesome!" Togata whooped as he, Amajiki, Hado and Haya were all gathered around the kitchen table of the 3-A dorm building. Atop of Hado's head was the crown for Miss Con's winner and the sash running diagonally across her torso, the boutique of flowers laying in front of her. There were other third years in the building as well but majority of them were fixated onto the television where a group of friends were all playing a first person shooter. "Eri was able to see you whenever you went really high into the air and she said you looked like a fairy!"
"See? Told ya going for the cute vibe over the sexy one would be the trick to helping her win." Haya stated. "What with Kenranzaki pulling the same shtick every year it was bound to reach a point where it would just grow dull."
"But did you see the vote count for those who voted for Nejire? Holy crap! There were so many more compared to last year!"
"Yeah but, now that I think about it, it really sucks that the first year didn't get as many votes as I thought she would." Hado sympathized as she formed a blade of a right hand and chopped at the air. "Kendo was her name? She's pretty, and I thought she was really cool with the way she broke those boards. It was like POW! And then, and then all the debris went everywhere like WHOOSH!"
"I don't know if flying debris would count as something cool in a pageant when it comes to safety but you know, if you like it you like it, to each their own."
"Hey I'm hungry! We should order a pizza." Togata chimed. "I was so busy running around and playing with Eri I didn't even realize how starving I am. At least she was able to eat though, Midoriya managed to find a candy apple at the end of the day. Hey what'd you guys think of his class's concert? I thought it was sweet!"
"Too loud." Amajiki stated. "I know the whole purpose was to liven up everybody's spirits and all but did they have to go so far as to potentially break our own eardrums? I'm willing to bet no matter where you were on the campus you'd still be able to hear them."
"Dude you're like the ONLY one who's complaining about the concert everybody else said it was perfect." Haya said. "And with a Quirk like yours don't you think you could've made some shells or turn yourself into a marshmallow or something."
"I didn't eat marshmallows today and I can't just turn myself into one that's not how my Quirk works. I develop the characteristics of the item I eat but I don't turn into the entire item."
"Even still you eat clams for a living right? Could've just made some huge ones to cover up your ears. Oh but could you imagine somebody like Amajiki just morphing into a giant marshmallow during a fight? I don't know if I'd be intimidated or on my butt laughing on the ground."
"I think it'd be cute!"
"I think it'd be funny!"
"I think it'd be best if I went to my room now."
"What?! And miss out on all the pizza I'm ordering right now?" Togata asked with his phone in his right hand and madly typing away at the keyboard. "Come oooooon you wouldn't wanna miss this! I got pepperoni, cheese-actually two of those are going to be cheese, and then that special they got with the buffalo sauce."
"Ooooooooh." Hado ooh'd at Togata's order with her hands frisking about her body and patting the several pockets of her blazer. "That sounds really yummy. Heyyyy, what the heck?"
"Something wrong?"
"My phone. I can't find my phone anywhere did I drop it?"
"I didn't see you with it when we walked in." Haya replied as the third years all looked around their immediate area to see if they could find the device potentially laying on the ground or placed somewhere. Unfortunately, they couldn't. "When's the last place you had it?"
"I definitely had it in the green room before I went out but, I feel like I had it after that too. I'll go check just to make sure though."
"Want me to go with you? Something tells me you're gonna make it over there and then forget why you went in the first place. Plus if anybody stole it I'm always down to rumble."
"No it's okay Yuyu I can get it myself." Hado said, standing up from her seat and sliding her chair back underneath the table. "We were the last ones to exit from the green room so more than likely it's just sitting in my area. I'll be right back."
Hado departed from the kitchen area as Haya returned to poking at Amajiki in regards to which characteristics of pizza he'll be able to manifest if he eats it, the pageant winner shutting the door behind her with a click. She took a quick breath in and out and hopped over the three steps that led into the front entrance, humming a joyful tune as she waddled happily towards the main ground of U.A's campus.
Who would've thought that on her third and final year of high school, Hado would finally win the Miss Con pageant over the consecutive winner of every year before this one. Going into the pageant she'll admit there was a bit of nervousness and despair thinking that despite her cute appearance she wouldn't be able to pull through with enough votes to earn her the crown. But lo and behold at the end of the day once the counts had been totaled, the crown found itself over her head and the sash decorating her torso with grandeur. At first it felt like some kind of lucid dream or a hallucination until she pinched herself on the leg and realized that it was not some sort of dream or a trick of her mind. This was real. She really did in fact win on her very last year, the happiness that coursed through her body earlier still present even hours after it happened.
There was something about the pageant however that did make her a bit curious during her performance. When she was floating at her highest for everybody to see, Hado had the perfect view to see the entire crowd gathered before the stage, so many faces both old and new all staring up at her in awe. But there was one face in particular that piqued her curiosity for a moment out of all the others. At the very back of the crowd where she was able to spot Togata and the little girl Eri looking up to her, she also spotted the face of a first year who had a different look in his eyes compared to all the others. Midoriya. The look on his face made it seem like he was staring at an angel descending from the heavens, so captivated onto the third year he seemed to not notice what was going on around him. It took several shoulder tugs from Togata and a pat from Eri to get the first year to snap out of his trance in order to not be left behind to see the other sights of the festival.
That Midoriya, he was always an interesting sight for Hado. The first time she heard any mention of his name dated all the way back to the Sports Festival, the next occurrence would be word of mouth that two first years were caught brawling with each other after curfew. She wouldn't truly see him in person until the Big 3 paid a visit to the homeroom class of 1-A. It was then that she had the opportunity to truly get a good look at him in terms of his appearance and she will admit he's not bad looking, a bit on the cuter side if telling the truth. Togata's fight against the entirety of the first year class also gave her some insight as to how smart he is when he managed to predict where the blonde phantom would pop up and plan a counter attack. Ultimately it failed, but it was still a nice try though.
Then, his true colors came out during the raid of the Hassaikai estate when the first year put it all on the line to bring home a child in distress. From what Hado heard, Midoriya took on one of the biggest risks in the form of allowing a dangerous Quirk such as Eri's to continuously affect his body in order to combat against a super powered Overhaul. The third year doesn't exactly know what kind of Quirk it is for him to constantly have Eri's power flow through him but it had to be something powerful and something with a high amount of raw strength to keep up with it. If a Quirk such as Rewind didn't end up killing him then whatever he holds inside of him must be something mighty strong.
'MmmmmmMMMMM!' Hado pouted with her curiosity flaring up again. Now that she's thinking about Midoriya's Quirk her curious side is starting to get the better of her and she wants to know more about it. What is it exactly? The Sports Festival would've made her think that it's some kind of super strength type Quirk but now she's having second thoughts about it thanks to the weird lightning that arcs around his body. Maybe one day when they'd cross each other again she'll have the opportunity to ask him properly about it, for her own mental sake. Cause if not she'll probably drive herself insane with the amount of questions buzzing through her mind right now.
Finally the third year had made it to the main building of U.A, opening up a door on the side located on the ground floor near the Support Studio. The green room from where she prepared to get set for the Miss Con competition wasn't that far from her current spot, about a two minute walk at a leisure stroll. There were several students still wandering about the halls with a few of them exchanging a couple of words with Hado who continued on her way towards the set up area, making a tight turn around a right corner and-
"Oof!"
"Ouchie!"
Bumping right into somebody who was making that same turn.
The girl managed to stay on her feet although nearly tripping backwards in the process, but as for the other individual they fell onto their rear end from the front bumpers that came with Hado. Once they fell onto the floor and looked up Hado was able to see who she accidentally bumped into before a smile grew onto her face. "Oh heyyyyy! Midoriya!"
"Hado-senpai." The boy greeted on the ground. "Hey, s-sorry about bumping into you are you okay?"
"Yup! I'm okay! Here let's get ya off the ground first it's dirty down there." Hado latched onto Midoriya's right forearm and helped him into his feet, the boy dusting himself off once he stood all the way up. His attire had been changed from earlier, now wearing a casual green T-Shirt with black shorts and his red shoes.
"Thank you."
"No problem! Say, whatcha doing wandering around here?"
"Well the thing is I'm actually trying to find the green room." He replied. "When I got back to my dorm building I-I haven't been able to find my school ID and I think I left it in there, don't know why it would be in there but it's the only other place I've been to today and the last spot I'd like to check. Thing is though I can't find the room, I don't ever go in there so I'm a bit lost."
"That's okay I'll help you look for it. I was actually on my way over there now since I can't find my phone either, hopefully it's in there. Come on I'll show ya."
"Oh, okay sure." Midoriya tagged along side Hado on her left for the journey, having to do a complete 180 from where he was initially going. The green room isn't a spot in U.A that's really given him a reason to visit hence his inexperience in knowing where it is, and he wasn't able to find any teachers to help him with locating it either. He did contemplate on going back to his dorm building and asking Aizawa for assistance but then he remembered that the teacher was now responsible for overlooking Eri's care. He didn't want to disturb that process so for now he'll just follow Hado. "O-Oh by the way Senpai, I forgot to say this earlier but congratulations on winning. Your performance was great out there."
"Thank you." Hado beamed. "You know it's a bit of a surprise to me still that I managed to win but hey I'm not complaining! I'm actually still really happy that I managed to do so, too bad your friend didn't get as many votes as I thought she would."
"My friend? I didn't have any friends participating in it."
"Kendo. You're not friends with her?"
"N-No?" Midoriya said. "I haven't even spoke to her at all throughout this entire year and if did then I don't remember. She's the Representative for 1-B and I'm in 1-A."
"Ohhhhhh." Hado sounded. "Okay okay I getcha. Though, even if you are in different classes you're both still in the hero department, you should look into making some friends with the other classes. You never know if next year you'll end up in the same class as those in 1-B."
"I-I've thought about that once but, I don't know. Feel like I'll talk to them only if the situation requires me to. Not saying that I don't want to talk to them you know but, eh. I don't know i-it's hard to explain."
"No I get what ya mean. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult in opening up to others and other times it's super duper easy. Hey hey! I bet it'd be a lot easier if you try and come up with a training session between classes. You know, like maybe it'd be a really big battle between teams and some of those teams are intermingled. Like a few 1-A students and 1-B students to make up the numbers of the teams."
"Huh. Sounds interesting." Midoriya shrugged. "But something like that sounds like it's more along the lines of the Representatives' job. They're the ones who can probably coordinate that to happen."
"True true, but something like that sounds really exciting!" Hado commented. "So many Quirks being able to absolutely go ham with each other, WA-POW BAM KICK BOOM WHOOSH PSHOOOOOOO!"
"Hado-senpai, are you interested in Quirks?"
"You bet! I think it's super neat that there's so many people out there we don't know about and so many Quirks out there with them. I mean just think about it, what if there's somebody out there who can create a black hole with a snap of their fingers?"
"I-I think that'd be pretty dangerous." Midoriya commented. "Black holes are one of the most destructive forces in the universe if something like that was in the hands of a villain..."
"Eeesh. Now that I think about it yeah it does sound pretty bad. But it's not definitely not as interesting as your Quirk though! How does it work?"
"My Quirk? Oh, well basically it allows me to supercharge my body with energy and depending on how much output I put into it I can alter the level of strength for my attacks. Though, I'm still getting used to it since I'm a late bloomer, and sometimes the after effects leaves my body all sore and aching."
"Oh geez that sounds pretty bothersome, but look on the bright side. You got a super duper awesome Quirk that lets you be really strong with it AND you're in the highest ranked hero school in all of Japan. I bet if you really put your mind to it and you keep a big smile on your face you'd be able to do anything once you graduate. My Quirk's not that fast when it comes to speed but it hits really hard so hopefully I'll be able to crank up the velocity before I leave U.A. Do you have any goals before you leave?"
"I just want to be the best hero that I can be, so that I can become this world's greatest hero someday." Midoriya answered. "That's my dream, to be like All Might who saves people with a smile."
"All Might huh." Hado commented. "Ya know your Quirks are somewhat similar to each other, guess I could see how you'd want to be just like him. Well no matter how you do it we're all rooting for ya. Here we are!"
Turning left at the last hallway the first/third year duo arrived at a closed door on their left, Hado jutting down the handle and pushing it open. When she flicked the lights on majority of the items had disappeared from earlier spare a few tables and curtains hanging from small carts, nothing much that would give it anything of interest. Midoriya hummed before his eyes absentmindedly took a single glance down to his feet and he spotted half of a student ID peering out from underneath a trash can, pacing over to slide the card out from underneath. "Huh, well I managed to find my ID, don't know how it managed to even get underneath here."
"Great! Now you don't have to worry about going through the trouble in filing for a new ID." Hado chimed. "Hey hey while we're here, this reminds me. Who did you vote for in the Miss Con contest?"
"U-Uh, I-I actually don't vote Senpai, sorry about that. I was too busy spending time with Eri and Togata I didn't have the chance to put my vote in before the tolls were closed."
"Really? Aw man that sucks, I bet whoever you were gonna vote for would've really appreciated it."
"Y-Yeah, sure. A-Anyways I'm going to head out now, have a good night."
"Byeeee!" The third year waved her junior goodbye before he hurriedly made his way out of the green room and disappearing on his journey back to his dorm building. Once he was gone she placed her hands on her hips and looked around the room. "Now then, time for me to start looking for-...uhh...wait, why did I even come here in the first place?...Eh, oh well. Maybe I'll remember later."
And with that so too did Hado take her leave from the green room, turning the lights off and shutting the door behind her. Not even noticing her phone laying out in the open on the very first table upon entry.
-
"PBBBBT HAHAHAHA!"
"I told youuuu, that I should've went with you dummy because I knew this would happen." Haya said with Togata laughing on the nearby couch after Hado returned to their building empty handed. "Now you gotta go all the way back to get your phone."
"I know, I'm so sorry." Hado apologized with her hands clapped together. "I was just so busy talking with Midoriya that I forgot why I even went over there in the first place."
"Huhhhh, god you're such an airhead, yet you make it look so cute at the same time. Alright I'm going with you this time so you don't get distracted."
"You managed to run into Midoriya huh? Wonder what he was doing in the halls." Togata added. "How'd it feel to meet your fan haha!"
"My fan?" Hado asked. "What do you mean by that Mirio?"
"Oh you don't know? When the tolls opened up for the votes, Midoriya was the very first one to vote for you."
