BEEEEEP*

"Yayyyyyy! Friday! Yay yay for Friday!" Hado cheered as she threw her happy fists into the air, her classmates gathering their belongings and taking their exit from the classroom after the final bell had rung for the day. The third year closed her light blue notebook with cat and ice cream stickers over the cover and stuffed it into her backpack before turning over her left shoulder. "Hey hey, Yuyu! Hey Yuyu hey! It's Friday, you know what that means right?"

"Well if today falls into line with the regular pattern of what we've been doing every Friday for the past two years then I think I have an assumption." Haya replied, the two girls standing and heading for the exit of their classroom. "It's candy day-"

"IT'S CANDY DAYYYYY HAHA! Oh I love Fridays, and I love candy. What are we getting today? I think I wanna get some more of those chocolate peanut butter kitties. Ooh! Or the rainbow ropes!"

"Yeahhhhhh about today, I can't make it."

"Awwwww." Hado whined with her shoulders slumping and arms dropping. "Whaaaat?"

"Sorry Nejire but I kinda got some stuff I gotta take care of." Haya explained. "Things are happening back home so I gotta go stay with my family for the day until I get back later. I'll make it up to you next week though I promise."

"Hrmmmm, okayyyyy. As long as you make sure everything's okay back home then I understand. Ooh hey Mirio!" Hado took off in a short burst down the hall where a cowlick stood out amongst the crowd, Togata turning behind him to the sound of his name and the quick pattering of shoes approaching him. "Hey hey! Guess what day it is?"

"Hmmmmmm, oh!" Togata beamed. "It's Friday! Candy day haha! I forgot about that."

"Yeah yeah! Unfortunately Yuyu can't come with us since she has some things that need to be taken care of, so it's you and me for today."

"TSSSSS ooooooh uh, about, thaaaaat. I uh, kinda have some other stuff that I need to do."

"Aw whaaaat?"

"Sorry!" Togata clapped his hands together and bowed his head in forgiveness. "But I gotta go see Eri with Eraserhead today. He says that it's important I hang around her as much as possible to help encourage the usage of her Quirk, and the sooner she gets a grasp on it, the sooner I can get my Quirk back. Really REALLY sorry about this Nejire, maybe next time."

"Awohh, maaaaan." Hado pouted with a glum look to the floor. "All my friends are gonna miss out on candy day. I can't ask Tamaki either since he's not feeling so well, him having to miss out today for school does kinda suck. I don't wanna go alone to candy day you guys are the best part."

"Sorry Nejire." Haya apologized. "If I had the choice of going with you today trust me, I'd take it without hesitating."

"Yeah same here."

"But if you don't wanna go alone, why don't you go see if those first years are interested in going with you? Um, what were their names? Uraraka and Asui?"

"Oh-ho yeah! That's a great idea!" Togata added. "I'm sure those two would be interested in seeing what candy day is like. You and that brown-haired girl kinda are on the same wavelength as each other, except you're a lot bouncier."

"Hmmmm..." Hado puffed her cheeks out as she tapped the front of her chin in thought, her cheeks slowly deflating as a smile began to grow. "You know, that's actually not a bad idea. Yeah...Yeah that does sound fun! Okie-dokie, I'm off to go ask. See ya guys around!"

"Peace." Haya flashed a peace sign as Hado quickly scurried over to the nearby staircase, her flowing hair bouncing with each step taken before it disappeared from view. Once out of earshot, Haya turned to the blonde with a curious eyebrow raised. "You really think Uraraka and Nejire are on the same wavelength?"

"A little." Togata answered. "Nejire's really happy-go-lucky and a bright person to be around, but she's really strong and tough when the going gets rough. From what was told to me after we saved Eri, Uraraka is kinda the same way, just on a smaller level."

"Nah, I gotta disagree. Nejire's totally the cutest thing in the galaxy, I don't think the brunette's got it in her to match what Nejire's doing. No insult to your little unicorn friend of course, she's adorable."

"Man, I really wish I could've gone to candy day with her, could've picked up something for Eri. Hmm...wait a second. Idea!"

"~Hm-hm-hmm~." Hado joyously hummed as she hopped down the stairs to the second level where the first year rooms were primarily located, her hands teetering out to her sides like she was an airplane. It was a shame that today her friends were unable to join her on the wonderful tradition that was candy day, but hope wasn't off the table just yet. She had two other options to ask in going with her, and although she could always go by herself like she's done before, it was the experience with friends that made it ten times better. "Bloop!"

The third year hopped off the last step with both feet landing at the same time, turning to her right to see the incoming wall of first years. She hummed and squinted on her tip toes trying to find the familiar head of deep brown in the crowd, so many colors and faces taller than her making it more difficult than it should be. Hado frowned when unable to find the brunette until at last she came across Asui through a split in the crowd as she smiled and cupped her hands over her mouth. "Hey-"

BZZZZT*

"Oh?" The girl quirked, her short attention span instantly drawn to the buzzing phone in the small right pocket of her school vest. Pulling out her phone she grew even more curious to the notification of Togata sending a text message, tapping the notification to extend the full message.

: Hey! If you want to it's totally up to you, but first see if Midoriya would be interested in joining you for candy day! If he does tell me maybe he can get something for Eri while you guys are there, and it gives you the chance to speak to him more since you keep asking about him and all.

BZZZZT*

Yuyu Hakusho: If you're gonna invite the pea in a pod tell me if he tries something stupid. I'll deal with it.

'Midoriya huh?' Hado looked from her phone back to the crowd of first years, the mass beginning to split and move off in their own directions. Asui crossed her path and was close enough for the third year to call out her name and grab her attention, but something about the thought of inviting somebody else sounded a lot more fun and interesting to see how it plays out. She has been rather curious about the boy ever since the festival, and while Uraraka and Asui were good choices for company, this was an opportunity to be taken if there was any. "Hmmm..."

Towards the back end of the first year crowd, Midoriya paced down the hall on the left hand side, the side closest to the staircase that took students both to the third and first floors of the building. Everything seemed as normal as ever until he approached the staircase and froze when spotting Hado searching through the crowd, his heart skipping a beat at her cute and curious face. Not wanting to make a fool of himself in front of the girl he's taken an interest to the first year creaked in the other direction and quickly began to make down the hall-

"Hey Midoriya!"

'Aw crap.'

Grimacing through a tight gulp Midoriya forced himself to turn back around as Hado bounded up to him with her signature beaming smile, a tiny blush forming on his cheeks at how cute and close she was. "H-Heyyyy, Hado-senpai. H-How are you?"

"Great! It's Friday, hm-hm." The third year grinned, her toothy smile smacking Midoriya in the face with slap of bouncy energy. "Almost time for the off day. Hey hey! Are you doing anything or got any plans today?"

"No?"

"Great! Say, are you interested in joining me for a fun thing called candy day?"

"Candy day?"

"Yeah! It's a fun tradition my friends and I made up a while ago. Well it's also a holiday over in the States but this is different. Every Friday there's a candy store not too far from here that does this great sale. For every pound of a certain candy you get, you get a free half pound of other mixed stuff! It's so fun, they have all types of candies and sweets, ooh and sodas and pops too!"

"Huh, that does sound like an interesting tradition." Midoriya cocked his head. "But u-um, why me?"

"Well Yuyu and Mirio had other stuff to take care of, and Tamaki's been really sick for the past few days I wouldn't want to drag him out of bed for something like this." Hado clapped her hands and bowed her head. "Pleeeeeeeease come with me? Please please pleeeeeease? I really don't wanna go alone it's so much more fun if you bring friends with you, plus I still have a buncha questions to ask about your Quirk."

"U-Ummm..." Midoriya rubbed the back of his neck in thought, question and sense clashing against each other in his head. This was a difficult request for him to consider mainly due to two points that contrasted the other in perfect opposition.

Those points being his interest for her, and the nerves he acquires BECAUSE of his interest for her.

Much like a person might act around their crush, Midoriya gets the entirety set of works whenever Hado comes anywhere near his 20 foot radius. A stuttered tongue, the inability to stand still on his feet, a bouncing heart, everything. It makes being around the third year so enjoyable because of the brightness and the positivity that she brings to the table, but at the same time it was a shame that he couldn't keep calm enough to enjoy said positivity to it's full extent. So as half of his brain was focused on Hado, the other half was questioning how quickly he could accelerate to top speed and leave the area before making himself look like an idiot in the event something happens.

Never before has a situation made him want to accept but at the same time deny. On one hand, accept Hado's request and run the possibility of stumbling over a word so badly it makes corny movie actors have premium tier acting skills when "tripping" over a stick. And on the other hand, deny her request and spare himself that possibility but also miss out on the beaming bunch of bright blue. He could suggest Uraraka and Asui since all three of them were at Ryukyu's agency, but wouldn't she have done that already? And if it was just the two of them at the store, that means he could have her undivided attention. Not that he would do anything fruitful with it in the first place. Probably nothing more than a complete stutter festival.

"-eeeeeease please pleeeeeeease prettypretty please pleeeease-"

"M-Mm...U-Uh... Y-You know what, sure, I'll go."

"Yay! This is gonna be so fun." Hado brightened up as she took Midoriya by his left forearm and began dragging him down the hall. "Come come! We can't let other people take all the good stuff."

Stuttering like a mad fool, Midoriya's face purged into a deep red color as he was forcefully and joyously dragged down the corridor, his brain unable to properly compute with the rapid data processing. How humorous it was to know that his body was able to sustain injuries from over using one of the world's strongest Quirks, yet it was unable to sustain the overload of nerves coursing through him when it came to the third year. And to think, this was only the phase in which he had an interest for the type of girl she was. If the time came around for this interest to grow into something on a deeper level, he doesn't even think Full Cowling would provide him with such a sensation.

DING*

"Ta-daaa! This is the place!"

Just as Hado said back at U.A, a candy store located on the corner of a city intersection wasn't far from the school's location, a simple ten minute walk in the direction of West. The corner store wasn't grand by any means but the outside was most certainly deceiving to the sheer quantity of what was on the inside. Never before has Midoriya laid eyes on such a wide variety of candy in one place before, shelves upon shelves upon jars upon tubs of sweet delicacies, and a multitude of different tables with more displays of candy to select from. On the right side of the establishment was a wall of candy to observe over, the wall connecting with the back and stretching towards the left where it would stop just before the clerk's counter.

To Midoriya's immediate left were three refrigerators with a rainbow selection of marble sodas, juices and other sweet beverages as well. Odd, he's never seen or heard of this location before, and it was such a short walk away from U.A too. He can think of several classmates that would have an absolute field day in a store like this. "Whoa."

"Isn't this awesome?" Hado inquired with a small bounce to her words. "I absolutely LOVE how many options there are to choose from it never gets boring in this place. Here lemme show you how it works."

The third year guided Midoriya towards the immediate right where a stand with dispensable candy bags and a scale was located, Hado taking one such candy bag for herself. "It's simple really, all you're doing for this first bag is finding out what kind of candy you want in here. Remember, it has to all be the same in this first bag, and it has to weigh a pound. Then for the second bag, you can mix whatever you want in it, and as long as comes out to be half a pound or under, it's free!"

"Simple enough. Though, I-I'm not that much of a candy guy if I'm being honest." Midoriya said as he took his empty bag. "Might be here for a little bit."

"That's okay, I'll help you! I love seeing what kind of first things newcomers get at this place, I think it shows what kind of person they are. You've had candy before though right?"

"No yeah certainly, I just don't find myself eating them often. I can say for certain though I like chocolate."

"Oh that's easy, here lemme show you some of my favorites." Midoriya followed Hado towards the left and noticed right off the bat that the wall of candy was color coded, making it easier for newcomers such as himself to identify what was where. In the middle section of the wall were the browns, black on the right side with blue on it's left. In each tub and container of candies were either a scoop or a pair of tongs, the third year humming over the options she favored most. "Hmm...ooh I know one you can start with."

At her waist level on the display was a tub of chocolate shaped cats, a rich brown color that was glossy underneath the light. Utilizing the tongs Hado picked one of the cats and held it out to him. "Here try it!"

"U-Um, don't we have to pay for it?"

"It's okay, it's only a sample they don't mind. You only get one sample per candy though, but it's enough to help you decide if you like it."

Midoriya plucked the candy from the tongs and nipped into the ear of the cat, revealing the inside to contain a pocket of peanut butter underneath. The combination of sweet and salty wasn't bad, and unlike the other combinations of the two substances this one wasn't overpowering on either or. It was equal on both sides. "Mmm, mmm not bad. Mmm, I actually like that."

"These are chocolate peanut butter kitties, they're my favorite when it comes to the chocolate section. I like to add them in the mixed bag though, save the first one for something I haven't had in a while."

He agreed to that, adding the chocolate peanut butter felines to the half bag did sound better than making it the primary choice. It did feel heavier compared to other choices. He enjoyed the selection but something told him too much of it would quickly run his palette for it dry. With the last piece down the hatch his eyes were instantly drawn to the blue colored section, thinking about how similar some of the delights were to Hado's hair color. As if they could easily blend right in with her hair and not be spotted by the naked eye. One such tub of candy caught his attention due to the shape and resemblance of it to a different object.

"S-Senpai? What about those blueberry shaped ones over there?"

"Oh those are REALLY good!" Hado placed the tongs back into the tub and moved further down the left, reaching for the the pair of tongs that were just about at her chest level. In this tub were a crisp, light blue blueberry shaped candy, with some form of sweet dust coating the exterior. "These are Blueberry Busters, they're really sweet on the outside but it gets really sour on the inside, so you do wanna be careful when getting a lot of these."

Midoriya hummed with the candy sample placed on his palm, no bigger than a coin he noticed. He popped the candy into his mouth and like she said it was sweet on the outside, the coating of the candy making it a pleasant experience for his tastebuds. Placing it in between the right side of his teeth he bit into it, spilling a small pocket of liquid in his mouth that was the sour content. Immediately he scrunched his face at the center as Hado giggled at his displeasure, finishing the candy as quick as he could before shaking his head side to side. "Nope!*AHEM*. Nope, didn't like that one. Way too sour."

"Yeah it kinda gets you on that first time, but after having it for a while you get used to it. Get the idea of this now?"

"Yeah, I get it. Just try whichever ones I have an interest too and decide what I'm putting in the bags."

"Easy-peasy! Lemme know if you need any help."

"Thank you. So um, h-how long did you say you guys have been doing this?"

"Oh geez, a really REALLY long time now." Hado answered as she looked over the variety of choices in the blue section, Midoriya going back to the browns and inspecting the chocolate selections. "I'd say, about two years next week?"

"TWO YEARS? Wow." Midoriya commented. "You really like this place that much you'd come here every Friday?"

"Yup yup! Though, it's not just the candy that makes this place fun, it's coming here with your friends that makes it so much sweeter. It's like a hobby, yeah it's fun and nice to do it by yourself but if you have friends to do it with you, it makes the experience much more memorable. You know what I'm talking about right?"

"U-Uh, no, no not really. I um, didn't really have friends when I was growing up."

"Why? Ooh lemme guess, you were an introvert like I used to be."

"No? I-I mean, mmm, sort of. I didn't really go out of my way to talk to people I pretty much kept to myself, so yeah I guess I was kinda an introvert back then. But, no. No I-I didn't have friends growing up because of a different reason. Remember during the training run between our classes how I told you I was initially Quirkless? Well, that's the reason. Not a lot of people talked to me or wanted to talk to me for that matter, so for the most part I found myself doing things by myself. Mm, not that I think people would be interested in joining me anyways. I like to write down information about Quirks and stuff in these notebooks I have."

"Really?! Ooooooh, that sounds super interesting." Hado said. "Hey hey I like stuff about Quirks too!"

"Really?"

"Yeah! Think about it, there's so many people that we know in our life yet there's so many MORE people out there that we don't know. And with the possibility that they have some super duper powerful Quirks OOOOOOHH it's so exciting! That's why a Quirk like yours is really really exciting to see up close. Cause it's like, what if there's something stronger out there? I mean being honest the likelihood of that happening is pretty slim since your Quirk is already really strong but, it's always possible.

Quirks are like candies, we have this wall here in front of us with a whole bunch of candies to choose from but this is primarily Japanese stuff. Think of what other countries' candies are like, like the States or a country such as France. Then there's the factor of knowing that with each generation a stronger type of Quirk is created, and since our generation has some strong people, it's so weird to think how simple and plain the first ones were. I like the idea of studying the different attributes of Quirks. You're not alone."

He wasn't alone. If only he was told that during the years that he needed it to be told to him.

Hearing the girl admit that she was interested with the logic of Quirks was surprisingly comforting, but he figured there wasn't much he could do with it. It wasn't as if he could casually walk up to her and ask for a sit down to discuss over everything they've seen when it came to Quirks. Could he? She was easily approachable and the type of person who seemed easy flowing with any conversation, so theoretically he could in fact casually walk up to her and ask for a sit down to discuss over everything they've seen when it came to Quirks. Though he doubts his hands would steady themselves enough for him to actually go through with it.

For Hado the decision to fill her bags of candy was as easy as breathing, but for Midoriya he struggled to decide which ones he wanted over which ones. Practically, it all boiled down to the game of taste testing and deciding if he liked it or not. An hour of sampling and receiving advice from the third year resulted in his free half bag being mixed with a few chocolate peanut butter felines and the rest consisting of fruity selections, ropes of multi-colored pebbles sticking to a strand of sticky candy and hard coated stones with a gummy interior. For his beverage a strawberry marble soda was what inclined him the most, Hado insisting that they sit on a nearby bench for a while before returning to U.A.

"Ahhhhhh..." With tongue sticking out into the air, Hado poured a small packet of purple fizzy candy over her taste buds, feeling and listening to the fizzing sensation that she so much enjoyed. "Haha! Cool!"

"Hey Senpai? I-If you don't mind me asking, earlier you mentioned something I've been kinda curious on." Midoriya said with his mixed bag sitting in his lap. "Y-You used to be introverted?"

The third year nodded before slithering her tongue back in and humming in confirmation. "Yup! When I first got here to U.A, I wasn't as talkative as I was back then. As I look back on myself and compare it to the current me, I was pretty grumpy looking. My mom used to tell me that I looked like I'd bite somebody's fingers off if they got too close. It was hard for me to make friends at first, until Tamaki came up to me, along with Mirio and Yuyu. Since then, they've been so close to me, and I'd do anything I could if it meant giving them the world. They mean that much to me. You really don't have anybody who's been your friend for a long time?"

"U-Um, heh, I mean, I-I have one person who's been with me for a long time, since we were kids for that matter. Now whether or not you'd call us friends is erm, a bit up for discussion."

"Why?"

"Do you know Bakugo?"

"Oh yeah, everybody knows him. The one with the Explosion Quirk right?"

"Yeah, that's him." Midoriya confirmed. "I call him Kacchan, and he calls me by my hero name Deku, but for an entirely different reason. Our whole life our relationship with each other has been um... complicated, heh, l-let's just say that. What with me being Quirkless for so long I looked up to him since he was the closest idea to me of what it means to be a winner. His skill with his Quirk, his exponential growth, his confidence in looking at an obstacle as a challenge, he's everything I wanted to be if I had a Quirk. I stuck by him, but he didn't really want to stick by me.

So we've for the most part been rocky with each other, though recently that's changed after we got into a little bout after school."

"Yeah yeah, that was really crazy you know?" Hado chimed. "It must have been really serious if you two broke school rules like that, and not long after we moved into the dorms? GEEEEZ."

"Hmph yeah, it was pretty risky of us but it worked out in the end though. Somewhat at least. Compared to all the years before, it's not so bad."

"Well as long as you guys aren't going at each other's throats then that's what matters. Hey hey! Can I see your half bag?"

"Hm? O-Oh yeah sure." Midoriya swung his right hand out to hand his half pound assortment of candies to Hado, the third year holding it up to her face and humming with squinted eyes. "What are you doing?"

"Trying to figure out what kind of person you are." She answered, her fingers kneading the soft parcel to mix and grind the candy around. "I mean it you know, I can read candy. It's like tea leaves with one of those psychic ladies."

"Read candy. Huh. Can't say that's the oddest thing I've heard in my life, but it's up there. Thanks for inviting me out on this candy day of yours Senpai, it was an interesting experience."

"Hey no problem! Hopefully next time Yuyu and the others can come with us."

"Next time?"

"Yeah!" Hado beamed with her usual bright smile. "Next time! This didn't have to be a one time thing you know, you could always come with us every week if you'd like. We're friends, right?"

Hado turned to the first year and widened her grin, once again punching him in the face with the full force of a bright star. It was moments like this that really shined the truth of the massive difference between he and this optimistic third year. It's difficult for him to fully comprehend the idea that at one point in time she wasn't this rolling ball of a bouncing beam, he just didn't see it. In a way she reminded him of All Might, how her wide smile brought ease and an all around positive aura to the space near her. If he was damned to Hell for gazing in her eyes, then he'd be proud in saying he saw Heaven without entering it.

Beside Midoriya's right leg was his full pound bag, Hado cocking her head as she reached to pick it up. "Oh you went with these huh? Good choice."

Midoriya snapped out of the stare he didn't know he was doing to look at the full bag that she held up beside her, the single color of periwinkle pebbles vibrant and lush inside the crinkly plastic. "I like these, the yogurt inside is a nice touch that brings out a pop. Do you like the yogurt too?"

"Y-Yeah." He agreed. "It's uh, definitely the yogurt that I like about it."
