...
The rain poured heavily into the mudded ground, as the soldiers fought for their lives relentlessly.
As each sword clash and each roar meant survival.
It was a war for the very land that they walk in.
A land that both races used to live in harmony.
However, it was a days bygone and there was no use to reminisce about what could have been.
Prince Arc Lionheart panted heavily, bearly able to collect himself as his eyes stilled into his remaing soldiers.
His soliders, were fighting for their lives, holding into their weapons for dear life.
They did not care if they were to die.
They have to win against the monsters.
Prince Arc watched in despair as his people fell like flies to the hands of those creatures. Their blood spiled into the ground as if it were nothing.
Some monsters cackled with glee as they played with their bodies as if they were toys, not living beings.
Not people who once had their own dreams and ambitions.
Prince Arc, felt a pentup scream in his throat, he wanted to scream and roar at those monsters.
Tears ran down his face, as he recalled each one of his comrades. Their eyes, full of hope, full of dreams and full of ambitions for the future.
But now.
All what he could see was lifeless bodies, that could not move, their eyes no longer had that spark in them.
They were dead.
Arc punched the mudded ground heavily as if it would feel his anger as he cursed at the creatures that he had once deemed as friends.
His heart beat painfully in his chest, his breathe was cutting short, as he heard the screams of his people.
Begging for the pain to end.
Begging for war to end.
Begging to see their loved ones for one last time.
Suddenly, Arc felt his body snap, as a wave of power surged through his body.
His blue eyes that once remainded his people of the clear sky, turned into the color of blood.
Summoning the last of bits of his power, he allowed his Soul to be coated with magic, as he unscathed his broken sword. Now coverd in a red like steel.
Without any hestiation left, he charged.
Cutting any monster before his eyes.
With each slash, his determination rose.
Pumping more power into his body, he kept on moving forward.
At this point, he did not care who he would kill.
He would end this war.
And he would see it thorugh that the monsters would pay.
For everything.
A race that he once considered an ally, but no more.
He would make sure to trap them into the underground.
Arc did not know when everything has stopped.
But, he was a witness to the monster kind defeat.
The battle has forced the monsters into Mt.Ebbot, hoping for a temporary escape.
However, it was a plan that the humans devised to trap them into the underground.
With their magical abilities, the six humans including Prince Arc.
Used their Souls magic to create the barriar. Trapping the monsters within the Underground of the montain.
Just then, Prince Arc's eyes began to dim.
His heart was now a shadow of its former self.
As the other humans celebrated the victory for their war, Prince Arc's heart ached with pain.
Turning back to face the barrier. He noticed that only one monster stayed behind.
A monster he had been in love with, for a long time now.
But no more.
At this point, he no longer holds any feelings for her or so he believes.
As his eyes met her yellow eyes.
The female dragon glared at him, he could tell that she was enraged.
He chuckled.
But, there was no emotion expect for remorse.
That was all what he felt.
As he turned his back, ready to let go of the last emotions that he had for her.
"Arc.."
She called out, her voice although laced with anger, he could tell that she was just as broken as he was.
"Lady Serephina..."
He called her out in a formal way, trying to sound uncaring.
"Are you okay?"
The question threw him off guard, as he chuckled painfully.
"Why do you care? Should you not be mad at what we have done?"
He barked at her, hoping to get her railed up a bit, but all what he saw was tearful eyes.
"No..."
She replied meekly, as tears fell down her eyes, the dragoness could not hate him, no matter how much she tried to.
Arc's eyes widen in shock as he faced her, a sad smile laced his lips.
Tears soon followed.
"You have to forget me, Serephina..."
He laughed shallowly as he told her, then, he stepped closer to the barrier, knowing that he could cross it.
From his bag, he threw her a heart locket before allowing the barrier to matiralise, he turned his back on her for the last time.
"Arc!!!"
Ignoring her anguished scream, he began to walk towards his people. Smiling as he felt his body slowly getting colder.
'Ahh...How did things go like this?' Arc questioned himself.
Knowing that no answer would come.
He begun to stager, knowing that he would not have much time left.
Oh... How he wished that things have turned out differently.
However, beggers cannot be choosers he thought.
As he neared the army, his closest aid, turned to call out for him in a cheerful tune.
But, his face morphed into a horrified expression as he seemed to bark out orders to the people around him.
Once he reached them, he could hear his soliders screaming as he fell to the ground.
Blood seeped through his mouth.
He coughed blood.
He did not have much time left.
He felt ringing in his ears as he realized that it was getting harder to breathe.
Among the noises, his eyes began to lose their sight, but he could make the outline of some people.
Just then, he felt a familiar surge of power getting close.
As he felt two arms cardling him close, although the face was not clear, he knew who it was in an instant.
"Charalot... D-do not cry..."
Arc whispered to his brother as he coughed more blood, signing his near death.
"A-Arc... P-plesase!!! D-do not leave me!" Charalot begged, tears ranning like waterfall as he felt his brother's body getting colder by the second.
"You... You will be fine Chara... But, my time on this earth is up..."
Arc stroke Charalot's face with a smile on his face.
"Now... It is up to you... To lead the new Era... Chara...lot..."
Arc whispered for one last time, before he took his last breathe, closing his eyes, as he body became as cold as ice.
Charalot's screams rang out through the entire barren battlefield.
Although the humans have won.
They have lost more than just their leader.
With their former allies trapped into the Underground.
It was the marking of a new Era.
For both races.
The Humans and Monsters.
They Would not know of each other's existene until much further into the future.
