Hey everyone, sorry for the late update, but my internet is terrible.
As usual, my Author's Notes will be at the bottom of the chapter, please read them. Also, please comment, but no flames.
Deathstalker982 & Landrogar: Thanks so much for your suggestion, but I'm going with something different in regards to how I tackle the [Absorption] problem. You can see what I mean in the chapter and give me your opinion on it. I will be implementing your ideas for more skill books and stuff form quests, but I went with an older idea that I had. I hope that I introduced more of the Gamer into the story, and you'll see it more and more as the story progresses.
Also, thanks to everyone who is supportive, I really enjoy reading your comments.
I don't own Naruto or Re: Monster or any other Anime/Manga or other references I use.

Chapter 3: Social Upheaval
Day 26
"Ah! Morning guys!" A hobgoblin greeted the trio as they woke up, and it took Naruto a few moments to realize who it was. "Hehe, surprising, isn't it?"
Naruto was slightly surprised to see that Gobue had evolved into a hobgoblin, but he realized that taking down that Black Wolf pack helped her level up significantly. He wasn't aware that she was that close to reaching level 100, since he hasn't been using [Observe] on his teammates regularly. He also switched off the option to have the name and level float, since it was getting annoying when training the goblins. He decided to check their levels later and gave Gobue an accessory to congratulate her.
Afterwards they all trained as usual, but instead of splitting and going out hunting, Naruto had them checking their equipment and gear. The low-ranking goblins were using Animal Horn Spears and Carapace Shields, gear that Naruto had crafted for them. The captains, which either had five or ten subordinates depending on their hierarchy ranking, had light leather armour and metal weapons.
Today, Naruto was leading the goblins on a surprise attack on the orc mine. He's not the type of person that would take aggressive actions against others, but upon using [Observe] on the leader and the mine itself, Naruto's mind was made up. The quest he got helped convince him.
After spotting the group of six orcs, Naruto used [Observe] on the toughest looking one with the best armour.
Orc LeaderLvl: 74
An orc who has managed to rise in strength and become the leader of his kin. Wearing much better armour then the rest, while also being stronger and more skilled, he is a much deadlier opponent than the other orcs. The leader of this tribe of orcs, he made a deal with a certain village to supply them with spirit stones and 'protection'. In exchange the orcs would receive a few slaves every six months.
Reading that pissed him off, but he knew they couldn't take down these orcs just yet. It didn't help when they reached the Orc Mines and saw how many more were there. Using [Observe] on the mine, in hopes of learning more, caused a quest to trigger and one that Naruto needed to talk to Kurama about.
[Orc Mines]
Originally a small cave found by the orcs, they discovered that there were plenty of spirit gems to be found there. It was soon turned into a full-on mining operation, as the amount of spirit gems in the mountain seemed to be endless. The reason for this is unknown, but it was apparent that so long as the orcs controlled this mine, the more power they will obtain.
[Quest Alert!]
[Territory Takeover]
You learned about the mine controlled by the orcs and how they are building up power through it. The more they are left alone the greater the threat they become to humans, elves and even goblins. March forward and defeat the orcs inhabiting the mine.
Main Objective: Clear the Mines of Orcs
Bonus Objective: Clear it without any losses
Rewards: XP, Random Skill Book, Random Item
Failure: Death, Elimination of Goblins, Massive Growth of Orc Tribe Strength and Numbers
[Accept / Decline]
After discussing it with Kurama, they both agreed that taking out the orcs was necessary. The quest and the [Observe] information both hinted that something in the mine would allow the orcs to become a massive threat, that's ignoring the fact that they have a consistent method of building up their numbers.
Later, when Naruto went out to train his skills, they worked on a plan to deal with the orcs. They both realized that with the number of orcs there, they would need a large group to take them on. Having recently gotten [Pack Leader] and [Pack Hunting Knowledge] skills, the thought of having the other goblins participate in the attack popped into his head. He wasn't too happy with doing that, but he also realized they didn't have much of a choice.
Making a basic plan of attack, one that the goblins could easily follow, Naruto also suggested that Kurama make an appearance and help in taking down a few orcs. With Naruto showing the goblins that he trusts him, as well as impressing them by killing a bunch of orcs, Kurama should easily be able to fit in. Naruto also accepted the quest, since he was going to deal with the orcs regardless.
Naruto told the assembled goblins of the plan, and they were all for it. He wasn't too surprised by their response, since many of them wanted to reach level 100 and rank up or they just wanted to eat some orcs. Regardless of their reasons, the goblins paid attention to him while he explained the plan and they began their march.
As they were reaching the orc mine, Naruto had the goblins check their equipment and ready themselves. After seeing everybody ready, he began the first part of the plan.
Sending out Gobumi and the goblins with ranged weapons ahead, he had them take cover in the trees. He led the rest of the goblins past the tree line and in sight of the orcs milling around outside the mine. He shouted at them insults in their own language, causing the few there to rush towards the group in a mindless rage. They didn't get far when arrows pierced through them, killing them or weakening them enough for the approaching goblins to easily kill.
It seemed that they caused a commotion as many more orcs began rushing out the cave, and Naruto smiled as things were going according to plan. Suddenly, to everyone's surprise a dark red beam of energy pierced through several of the charging orcs, killing a couple of the armoured ones, before exploding and injuring a number of others. Despite being surprised by what happened, Naruto continued on with the plan, using [Spider Silk Generation] and [Silk Spinning Arts] to tangle and trap the orcs.
Seeing this the goblins rushed the orcs, stabbing and killing them with their spears, while Gobukichi and Naruto went after the heavily armoured leader who quickly managed to break free. The fight didn't last too long, the combined strength of Naruto and Gobukichi allowing them to quickly finish off the orc leader. Gobumi and her squad helped support the rest of the goblins, and it wasn't too long before the fight was over and the orcs dead.
They had a number of injured, but thankfully no one died. Meanwhile, the orc leader and all the orcs in the mine were killed.
"Goburuto, sir! His arm is barely attached!" Exclaimed a worried goblin helping his injured comrade walk. Naruto immediately rushed towards them, and began using [Regeneration] to help reattach his arm and heal him. He also instructed the goblins to wrap their injuries with bandages infused with healing herbs, which would reduce the time needed for them to fully heal.
"Thanks boss!" The formerly injured goblin exclaimed as he flexed his now healed arm without any pain. The emphasis on defence training and the use of silk to hinder the orcs, those had a significant impact on allowing the goblins to take down the orcs. What also helped the goblins win was that their attack caught the orcs by surprise and Kurama's assistance, who showed up after launching that red beam of energy.
"Oi! Don't attack him!" Naruto shouted at some of the goblins that were getting ready to attack Kurama. Naruto might have been surprised by his attack, but he wasn't going to let the goblins get killed, "He's a friend."
"Huh? What do you mean Goburuto?" Gobumi asked him as she lowered her crossbow once he commanded them.
"That's Kurama, I met him a while ago in the forest. We fought, and it was a draw. After that we talked and became friends. Also, he helped us in beating the orcs, so if nothing else we owe him some thanks." Naruto answered her, "Still, I wasn't expecting you to show up here... What brought you here?"
"Some orcs ruined my napping spot, so I went looking for a new one after dealing with them. Then I saw you and your group show up, so I figured I'd help you deal with them." Kurama snickered at seeing the goblins shout in surprise at Kurama speaking their language.
"Interested in joining us for lunch? We're about to start cooking the orcs." Naruto asked him, already knowing the answer. Kurama accepted his offer, and the goblins accepted his words easily enough, having seen Kurama's strength in the battle. They also respected their boss, so his recommendation carried a lot of weight with them.
After stripping the orcs of their belongings, finding two new types of spirit stones that Naruto grabbed to eat, they then began grilling the orcs. Naruto made sure to mainly eat the strongest orcs, like the leader, and he also reminded the rest of the goblins to save some for the other goblins. He didn't get many skills from the orcs, but he looked through the skills he got as he enjoyed the taste of roast pork.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming an Orc, you have gained the Active Skill [Rallying Cry]!
[Rallying Cry] (Active, Lvl: 1): Battle cries are well known for granting its user a boost in combat ability, same with Kiais, by allowing them to sharpen their minds through affirmation of self. However, this cry is used by leaders to rally their followers and troops, rekindle their spirits and encourage them to keep fighting. This skill grants minor bonuses to followers at the cost of MP.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming an Orc, you have gained the Passive Skill [Improved Digestion]!
[Improved Digestion] (Passive, Lvl: Max): Most beings only absorb a portion of their food's energy and nutrients, but with this skill, all that changes. The user's body is capable of digesting food with greater efficiency and speed, granting the user more energy and nutrients from their food.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming an Orc, you have gained the Passive Skill [Halberd Proficiency]!
[Halberd Proficiency] (Passive, Lvl: 1): The halberd is an odd weapon, a mixture of a spear and axe, it is an extremely effective one. It possesses a spear tip for stabbing, an axe blade for cutting and it can even act as a hook for pulling enemies off horses or tripping them. This skill allows the user to freely handle halberds, increasing the damage caused and the speed of attacks.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a [Wind Spirit Stone, you have gained the Active Skill [Aero Master]!
[Aero Master] (Active, Lvl: 1): Wind is a powerful element, one that is incredibly versatile in its uses. Practitioners have created sharp wind blades capable of slicing through flesh and armour, vacuum spheres capable of causing massive pressure damage and wind gusts that can throw enemies into trees and rocks. Creating and controlling wind will grant its user a versatile weapon, if one that needs a great deal of training. This skill allows the user to create and manipulate wind, but it does not grant immunity or resistance to wind not created by the user. This skill may not be a spell, but it still uses MP to create and control wind.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a [Wind Spirit Stone, you have gained the Passive Skill [Storm Resistance]!
[Storm Resistance] (Passive, Lvl: 1): A rare skill, one that is only found within enchanted items, through blessings or specific species. This skill reduces the damage the user takes from wind-based attacks.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a [Earth Spirit Stone, you have gained the Active Skill [Earth Control]!
[Earth Control] (Active, Lvl: 1): Earth is known as the defensive element, which isn't an untrue statement, but it does possess a great deal of offensive potential. Many mages utilize this element, mainly for its defensive abilities, from creating earth walls to coating their body in stone armour. Earth can also be used to create a field of spikes, massive fists controlled by the user, deep mud pits that drown its victims and massive fissures that swallow enemies. This skill allows the user to create and manipulate earth, but it does not grant immunity or resistance to earth not created by the user. This skill may not be a spell, but it still uses MP to create and control earth.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a [Earth Spirit Stone, you have gained the Passive Skill [Earth Resistance]!
[Earth Resistance] (Passive, Lvl: 1): A rare skill, one that is only found within enchanted items, through blessings or specific species. This skill reduces the damage the user takes from earth-based attacks.
'That digestion skill doesn't seem useful, but the others are fine. Why haven't I gotten something like a sword proficiency skill yet?' Naruto wondered, 'Maybe it's because I haven't used my sword in an actual weapon fight?'
After everyone finished eating, Naruto had the goblins gather all the equipment and meat, while he began talking to Kurama. The fox had surprisingly enjoyed the party, even if he spent most of it eating.
"Hey, interested in joining us at the cave?" Naruto asked him, acting like he just had this idea, and it wasn't something they practiced before.
"Sure, why not." Kurama replied lamely, not bothering with making any reason. That didn't seem to change things, since the goblins cheered, happy to have someone strong join them. Gobumi was slightly confused, being the most intelligent one there, but she didn't really question it since Naruto and Kurama seemed to get along. Truthfully, Kurama didn't really care that much about joining the goblins, but he had to keep an eye on Naruto, otherwise he might get them into an even bigger mess.
Returning to the cave, Kurama immediately found a spot to sleep in, after Naruto explained to the goblins at the cave that he's a friend. They accepted his explanation, but he did warn everyone that Kurama's really strong and anyone trying to eat him is on their own. Naruto then went out to train a bit, and on the way, he talked with Kurama through the chat feature.
"What was that attack you used? It looked like a mini bijudama, I could have sworn you didn't know it when we first met."
"I figured out how to do it." Kurama replied smugly, his tone apparent even through a text message. He continued after a few moments, probably snickering at his end, "This Gamer power is really powerful. I was able to get a whole bunch of skills after getting it, and after you figured out magic and explained it to me, I was able to get the [Internal Mana Control] and [External Mana Operation] skills. After that, I was able to figure out a few new skills by manipulating this energy, like my [Miniature Bijudama] that you saw."
"But I tried to get several skills several times, but it never worked. How did you get a whole bunch of them?"
"Hmm... I have no idea." Kurama replied, "If I had to take a guess, I would say that multiple factors played a role in that. I'm guessing that you've probably focused mostly on finding things to eat to get skills from them, no?"
"I mean, you make it sound like I didn't train or try to learn skills on my own. But, yeah, I did sort of end up focusing on eating things to get stronger."
"You also mainly tried to get new skills as a goblin, right? Not after you ranked up and became a hobgoblin?"
"Now that you mention that, yeah. Initially, especially after I created [Observe, I tried to get a bunch of skills. Things like [Strong Blow] or [Dash, but I could never create anything like that. I figured that if I couldn't get basic skills like that, I was probably limited in the skills I can create."
"Strong blow?" Kurama asked mockingly, knowing perfectly well what Naruto meant.
"Oi! Don't go making things sound wrong. It's a skill that lets you hit things even harder than normal. Now, why does being a goblin matter when trying to learn skills?"
"From what you told me, when you were a goblin, you were weak, weaker than a human child."
"So, what you're telling me is that as a goblin, I was so weak that I couldn't even learn skills like [Strong Blow] or [Dash]."
"Partly, but the biggest factor is that you didn't have the mana control skills. After I got them, I just focused on using this mana energy to create new skills, and I got several like [Crushing Bite, [Flying Claw] and my [Miniature Bijudama]. I would channel it into my mouth and jaws and bite things repeatedly, or channel it into my claws and try to send out a flying slash. That's what I mean by using mana to create new skills." Kurama explained, his wisdom shining through. He was after all over a century older than Naruto, and he's had a great deal more experience in manipulating chakra. "The reason you never had much success in creating skills was probably a mixture of those three factors, so why don't you just try to create a few now?"
"Hmm, I guess that makes sense. There are also skills that probably need more stringent requirements to unlock, like any skill about specific weapon proficiency. Despite using these swords for a while, I haven't gotten a sword proficiency skill yet, and the reason is that I haven't actually used them in a prolonged fight. I have been focusing on killing things quickly and efficiently, so I haven't really had an actual weapon fight. It's probably the same thing with taijutsu styles, although Frog Kata may only be obtained if I could use Senjutsu."
"Sure, whatever..." Kurama replied indifferently, once it was clear Naruto was going to train and experiment, "I'm going to sleep now, tell me what you discover tomorrow."
After that, Kurama exited the chat and Naruto figured he was asleep by now. With his [Negative Emotion Sensing, Kurama would know if someone was going to attack him, so Naruto wasn't too worried about him. Deciding to first look through the rewards from finishing the quest, he opened his [Inventory] and took out the skill book and item he got. He used the skill book, since it was a rather useful skill, but he used [Observe] on the small blue sphere.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of using a Skill Book, you have gained the Active Skill [Auto-Loot]!
[Auto-Loot] (Active, Lvl: MAX): You have achieved the pinnacle of looting prowess. You have opened every chest, taken every weapon in sight, harvested every plant, skinned every animal, picked every pocket and left the dead naked. As a reward for your achievement, you have obtained this skill. This skill allows you to take everything valuable from an opponent you just killed or defeated, storing them inside your [Inventory] or placing them in your hands.
[Water Breathing Pill]
This magical potion in the form of a pill grants the user the ability to breathe underwater for six hours.
'I wonder... If I eat this pill, will I get some sort of water breathing skill, or will it just let me breathe underwater for six hours. I can try it some other time, since it'll probably be really handy in that fish quest. I should really handle it soon.' Naruto thought to himself as he stored the pill back into his [Inventory]. 'This [Auto-Loot] skill isn't too bad, but I wish it worked on getting skills rather than items.'
Shaking his head, he decided to try and unlock a few skills to expand his arsenal. He had a few in mind that he wanted to try and get, so he quickly went to work. Remembering Kurama's advice, he took control of his mana and used it to coat his fist and began punching a nearby tree, making sure that all the attacks were heavy blows. Eventually, a window popped up informing him of a new skill, which made him smile and move onto something new.
After a while, Naruto stood there breathing heavily, looking through the skills he got. He also practiced a few of the skills he regularly uses, since he figured he'll be needing them soon.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of hitting something really hard, you have obtained the Active Skill [Power Strike]!
[Power Strike] (Active, Lvl: 1): Pour your all into your attack, and deal even more damage. That is the basis of this skill, which allows you to deal more damage through physical attacks. Whether you're using a sword, spear or just your fists, using this skill allows you to deal more damage. This skill uses MP to increase striking power.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of moving extremely fast, you have obtained the Active Skill [Dash]!
[Dash] (Active, Lvl: 1): Rapid movement is something most veteran fighters learn how to do, and this skill does just that. Moving at high speeds, even in a single direction, is an incredibly useful skill, especially when used by a creative mind. This skill may not grant instantaneous movement, only allowing the user to move slightly faster than their top speed, but it has its uses. This skill uses MP to allow the user to dash.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of your hard work, you have obtained the Active Skill [Body Reinforcement]!
[Body Reinforcement] (Active, Lvl: 1): A rather rare skill, mostly because most people capable of directly manipulating their mana don't bother in reinforcing their body. Most mages prefer to fight from a distance, but this skill is quite a handy one to have. By channelling your mana throughout your body, you're able to increase all of your physical attributes. The boost might be minor, but it synchronizes quite well with other enhancement skills. This skill uses MP to boost physical attributes for a period of time.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of your hard work, you have obtained the Active Skill [Weapon Reinforcement]!
[Weapon Reinforcement] (Active, Lvl: 1): A clever application of mana, to channel it through a weapon and coat it as well, the user can enhance the weapon's attributes. Its main purpose is to increase its durability, but as a side-effect, the weapon's power is improved as well. This skill uses MP to reinforce weapons for a period of time.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of experimenting with mana, you have obtained the Active Skill [Mana Bolt]!
[Mana Bolt] (Active, Lvl: 1): You might have discovered this skill by mistake, but it's the starting point for more advanced direct mana manipulation. This skill is basic, but that means it can be built on and improved in many different ways, it all depends on the user. This skill uses MP to form a bolt of energy that can be fired by the user.
Naruto was pretty happy with the results, even though he failed to recreate the Rasengan. He did manage to get [Mana Bolt] from it, and he learned that to recreate the Rasengan, he needs to improve his mana control by a great deal. Looking up and seeing how dark it'd gotten, Naruto headed back to the cave.
Day 27
After a good night's sleep, the fatigue from yesterday was all gone. It wasn't anything physical, mainly mental fatigue, but Naruto was glad for it to have gone away. He ended up thinking about how to use the equipment they got from the orcs, while overseeing the goblins doing some drills, when an unknown group of goblins appeared.
By this point, Naruto knew all the goblins from the cave, and these ones were new. Around three quarters of them were wearing looted armour, but what was surprising was that there were three hobgoblins among them. One even carried a magic staff, which meant that they were a mage. Naruto was slightly worried that they were going to be hostile, so he began unsheathing his swords but was interrupted by Gobujii.
"Hold on there, they're not enemies." The elderly goblin began telling him, "They're the goblins that went out on the expedition. In other words, they're your parents."
"Oh... I see, I suppose I'll go greet them." Naruto replied, but he didn't really consider them his parents. Even if one of them was responsible for his conception, his real parents will always be his human ones. That's something he'll never forget. Right as he was about to call to them, Naruto noticed them.
"Oh... You've returned Gobuken, and you've brought back some rather nice things." Gobujii told the armoured hobgoblin.
"Of course! I know what I'm doing! So, we were thinking of..." The other hobgoblin began saying, but Naruto didn't pay attention.
He was focused on the five human women tied up that were brought by the expeditionary goblins. Looking at their clothes, four were normal girls and the fifth was probably an adventurer. Her face has some bruises from being hit, though all of their clothes looked mostly fine, suggesting that they hadn't done much to them. However, it was obviously a matter of time, as Naruto noticed that Gobujii and the new hobgoblin getting aroused.
He understood that this was simply how goblin society worked. They breed the women they capture to replace the goblins that die on these expeditions. However, none of that was acceptable to him. He wasn't going to allow something like that to happen, so long as he could actually do something about it.
"Say, do you think you could leave those women with me?" Naruto asked the Gobuken, the lead hobgoblin, as he decided to save the women. His reasons were plain and simple, he wasn't going to allow something like this to happen so long as he's around.
"Huh?" The hobgoblin, that Naruto assumed to be in charge, looked unhappy. Naruto tried to discuss the issue and persuade him, but the hobgoblin just grabbed Naruto's shirt aggressively.
"Woah!" Naruto replied, not at all intimidated by this show of force, as the rest of the expeditionary goblins took up arms. They didn't seem keen on listening, since they're just seething and it's obvious that talking won't work.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A voice interrupted the fight, as Kurama woke up from his nap atop a tree branch. The expeditionary goblins also noticed that their hostile actions weren't ignored, as the goblins from Naruto's generation picked up their own weapons and took up stances. Gobumi already had her crossbow aimed at Gobuken and Gobukichi was menacingly staring at the new goblins. "Also, you shouldn't count me out either."
As Kurama said this, he fired a [Miniature Bijudama] into a tree forcing it to fall down, and his face made it clear that it was just a warning shot. Naruto didn't just sit there idly, as he smacked away the arm grabbing him and began unsheathing his weapons.
"You're the ones that started it." Naruto began saying, as he got ready to just kill them, since it was clear they wouldn't listen or be persuaded by words. "Don't regret it as you die."
"You're just a brat born recently; we'll beat you to the ground!" Gobuken exclaimed angrily, as he unsheathed his sword.
"Aah..." Gobujii sighed as he rubbed his head, "I knew this would happen."
"Alright, alright! Put your weapons down, you guys!" As Naruto got ready to take them all down, a voice interrupted the ensuing fight. One of the female hobgoblins from the expeditionary group had shouted at them. She continued saying after everyone calmed down a bit, "Don't drag everyone into your personal argument. It's rather troublesome."
"Yeah, it's annoying!" Agreed the third hobgoblin of the expeditionary group.
"Oi, Gobujii... Who're these two?" Naruto asked him, as he privately thought he can take that entire group down by himself.
"Ah! That's Gobusei and Gobusato. Gobusei is a mage." Gobujii replied, happy that things have calmed down. It made some sense that the mage would be the voice of reason, since remaining calm in such situations is part of a mage's wisdom.
"So, how about this?" Gobusei began telling everyone, "The two of you will fight each other. Whoever's stronger will become the leader, and he'll get to control the community. Does that sound fine?"
"Yeah, sure. I already expected something like this, only I thought I was going to have to wipe all you guys out." Naruto agreed, while mentioning that second part in a matter-of-fact tone. That seemed to piss the others off, but Gobuken agreed to the condition. Naruto wasn't surprised by the quest that popped up in front of him and he accepted it without hesitation.
[Quest Alert!]
[A New Leader]
The goblins who went on an expedition have returned, with them loot and captured human women. You tried to solve things through words, but that didn't work. Now, you must defeat the other hobgoblin to become the leader of the goblin community.
Main Objective: Beat the other goblin
Rewards: XP, [Goblin King] Title
Failure: The human women will be raped, Possible extinction of goblins
[Accept / Decline]
"Gobusei, was it? Aren't you stronger than him? You're a mage after all." Naruto asked her, since he was wondering why she wasn't trying to be the leader.
"Who knows? Anyways, I'm not interested in being the leader." She replied in a disinterested tone.
"Ahaha!" Gobusato laughed a bit, before saying "That's just like you Sei! Well, good luck, Goburuto!"
The fight for the top spot began around midday, and Naruto saw that the expeditionary goblins had sat down and pulled out dice and were gambling. He was surprised that they knew how, but he shook his head and focused on the fight.
The rules were simple. Weapons aren't allowed, you win if you knock out your opponent or if he gives up. Accidentally killing him is also fine, and Gobujii was decided to be the referee.
Truthfully, Naruto wasn't worried, he knew he was going to win this fight. Even if he didn't bother with using any of his skills, he was simply too experienced in hand-to-hand combat to lose to Gobuken. The other goblin might be physically bigger and stronger, but that didn't mean he was a better fighter. Naruto was still going to use a number of his skills, mainly because the other goblin pissed him off and he wanted to show the rest of them not to mess with him.
He began with activating [Body Reinforcement, [Pump Up] and [Predict, which in addition to [Steel Skin, [Strong Body] and a number of other passive skills, made him much deadlier. He thought about activating [Power Strike] when hitting the other goblin, but he was worried he might actually kill him that way. He also wanted to see if he could get a taijutsu skill, so he decided on a simple but effective style.
"Well then, the fight to decide the chief will begin." Gobujii began saying, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah, just start!" Gobuken exclaimed angrily.
"Yeah, I'm ready." Naruto calmly replied.
"Well then... Get set..." Gobujii began saying, and Naruto overheard that most of the expeditionary goblins were betting on his opponent, but he didn't really care. He focused on Gobujii, who exclaimed "Go!"
Immediately, Gobuken sprang at him with a punch, but even without [Predict, Naruto easily dodged it. He punished his enemy with a strike to the gut, that left the bigger hobgoblin dry heaving for a few moments. Naruto didn't give him much respite and went on the offensive, focusing on using punches and kicks to beat him up, but also adding a few elbow and knee strikes. He made sure to target non-vital areas, and he was surprised by how tough the other guy was. However, that didn't mean much, when it was clear to everyone that Naruto was just playing around.
He was making a show of the fight, since he intended to use it to make it clear to the newcomers who was in charge, but he made sure to never underestimate his opponent. That was something that Kakashi and Jiraiya beat into him, and while he was making a show of the fight, he made sure to tightly control the flow of the battle.
Eventually, while Gobuken was barely able to stand and was swaying, Naruto got a short text message from Kurama, telling him to just end the fight. Rushing at the barely standing hobgoblin, Naruto struck him with an uppercut, sending him flying and crashing into the ground unconscious. The fight was helpful in several ways, such as levelling up a number of skills and obtaining a new skill.
"Well, that was a nice workout." Naruto exclaimed, "Any others interested in challenging me?"
He may have said this to everyone, but the message was directed to the newcomer goblins. Kurama was smirking, having enjoyed the beatdown Naruto gave the other guy, and he messaged the whiskered hobgoblin that the goblins were terrified of him. Mainly the expeditionary ones, the ones from his generation seemed to be more in a mixture of awe and fear. When no one else stepped forward, he earned the top spot in the community. Equipping the new title he got; he was pretty happy with the bonuses it gave, and the skill he got was pretty nice as well.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of repeated motions, you have obtained the Passive Skill [Konohagakure's Dragon Fist Style]
[Konohagakure's Dragon Fist Style] (Passive, Lvl: 1): The basic taijutsu style taught to all Konoha shinobi, it's the perfect mixture of defence and offense. Plenty of shinobi still use it as they advance through the ranks, although they add to it and customize it to their fighting style.
Bonus to Physical Attributes
[Goblin King: A title worn by goblins who become leaders of their tribes, by showcasing their strength, intelligence, leadership and a number of other traits, but mainly strength.
Bonus to Goblins obeying you
Bonus to Goblins following plans
Bonus to Leadership Skills
The first thing he did was forbid anyone from laying hands on the girls and after telling them that he intends to establish more rules later, he dismissed everyone. Naruto took the girls to the treasure storeroom that had once housed the women from before. He didn't mind if they left, except that they would be killed by the monsters in the forest or captured by orcs or bandits. It would be rather depressing if something like that happened, so Naruto preferred to have them stay here for now.
"I want to let you know that I have no intention of hurting you." Naruto began talking to the women using the human language, "I'll provide you with basic necessities, and hopefully I'll be able to return you home."
"You can understand human speech?" Asked the red-haired adventurer after a while, and Naruto found her to be pretty cute.
They talked for a while, and Naruto learned that the other four were part of a travelling merchant troupe, called the 'Star God's Pavillion', and that she was part of a guild hired to protect them, called 'The Sword of the Weak'. They were on their way to the fortified city of Trient when they were attacked by the expeditionary group.
More than half of the guards were inexperienced adventurers, so they stood no chance against a swarm of goblins led by three hobgoblins. All the men were killed, the goods and equipment taken and the women brought here. It's a rather harsh story, but unfortunately not one new to him. It seemed he upset them by asking about what happened, as they began crying.
Apologizing for upsetting them, Naruto left after telling them where the blankets, furs and torches are located. It seemed that being near a tribesman of those who killed their friends was hard on them, and for now they should probably be left alone.
Day 28
"Good morning!" Exclaimed the red-haired adventurer energetically when Naruto was bringing them breakfast. Maybe letting it all out the night before and getting some rest helped, or she just recovers fast. The others were still afraid of him, something he figured won't change for a while.
"Yeah, good morning!" Naruto replied unsurely, surprised by her energetic response. He had brought the girls some food he prepared using the ingredients that had been plundered. He wasn't the best cook, but he knew how to make some basic things, like stews and soups. [Manufacturing] helped him significantly, since cooking was just another form of crafting.
When they began eating, their moods immediately began improving, the tasty food helping soothe their hearts. He might be praising his own skills, but after tasting it, he thought that his stew is pretty good. He hadn't had any cooked meal since he before he died, and Naruto had to admit that it lifted his spirits up as well.
After they ate their meal and relaxed, Naruto was able to learn more about them. He wasn't surprised to learn that they each had a [Job]. He thought that if they were helping out in the community, they could keep their minds off it all. They did have some demands of their own, in exchange for helping out.
The warm looking girl, who had brown hair, was called Emery Furado. She held the jobs [Appraiser] and [Smith, so Naruto assigned her to maintain their weapons and equipment.
The sisters with blonde hair, both held the jobs [Cook] and [Tailor]. The older one was called Felicia Timiano, and Naruto figured that out because she had noticeably bigger breasts. The thought of mentioning that was crushed the moment it formed. The younger sister was called Alma, and Naruto thought it would be a bit unreasonable to have them start making clothes for the goblins. Instead, he assigned them the task of cooking food for everyone.
The smart and cool beauty, with the glasses and dark green hair, was called Spinel Fean and she held the [Alchemist] job. Knowing how useful they can be, he assigned her to start making potions for them.
"Oh, right... I'll just tell you now, that if you mix poison into the food," Naruto began warning them, not realizing how terrifying he sounds, "I won't be able to guarantee your safety anymore."
"Oh, I didn't mean to scare you..." Naruto apologized after seeing how his words scared the girls greatly.
The red-haired adventurer was called Rubellia Walline, and she held the job [Warrior]. However, she was still a novice, so Naruto decided he'll have her start training with them later on.
While they were telling him about their [Jobs, they also began explaining them to him, since they thought he didn't know what they were talking about. He let them do that, even though he did know a few things about it. Most of the information were things he already knew, but he did learn that people who were called 'heroes' most likely held some kind of hero jobs.
After breakfast, they normally train, but today was a little different. Naruto had the goblins begin gathering everything in the cave and packing them up, so they can prepare to move. With the addition of the expeditionary group and the human girls, the cave's become pretty cramped. They had no choice but to move, and he decided that their new home will be the orc mine.
He had explored it after they killed the orcs, and it was more than big enough to fit all of them. The mine won't collapse, since it was well reinforced, and they could mine spirit stones there as well. Naruto sent Gobukichi and ten other goblins as the vanguard to take out any orcs still there, and after an hour they began making their way to the mine. After an hour of moving through the forest, they eventually reached the orc mine and they found a pile of dead orcs.
"Goburuto!" Gobukichi called out once he noticed them.
"Good job dealing with these guys! So, there were still some orcs left..."
"Yeah, but there were more of us. Do you want their hearts?"
"No, you guys eat them. See if any of the other goblins want some."
After that they began on the maintenance and modification of the mine, although Naruto handled most of it. With the use of [Earth Control, the task was actually not too difficult. He mainly focused on expanding the main chamber and reinforcing the walls, as well as adding a few more rooms such as storage rooms for weapons, treasure and food, a restroom and several bedrooms.
"What power..." Spinel muttered to herself, as she stared at Naruto work in amazement. She wasn't alone in that regard, as Rubellia and Emery paused moving things to watch him work.
He left the smaller details for Gobujii and the others, since he didn't have a great eye for architecture. He also made a bedroom for the human girls to stay in, as well as a smithy, a kitchen and a workshop. While clearing rocks and earth, they found a good amount of [Fire Spirit Stones] and [Water Spirit Stones, which meant they had lighting and fresh water readily available.
"This place is amazing!" Emery exclaimed, as she studied a few of the spirit stones, "With all these spirit stones, I won't have any problems making things."
"Really?" Naruto replied, surprised that she was skilled enough to work with them. Still, he was pleased with this, especially since this entire mountain seemed to be chockfull of spirit stones.
"Great work everyone! The food is ready now!" Felicia exclaimed as she and her sister took the large pot off the fire.
"Oh, that smells really good..." Naruto muttered to himself as he smelled the delicious stew they prepared.
"There's plenty more where this came from!" Alma added afterwards.
Everyone spent the rest of the day cleaning up and storing everything were its supposed to go.
Day 29
They started out the day with training, and now they had even more space for it. There was a large empty area in front of the mine, which made it a perfect spot for training. That day the older goblins will begin to train alongside the others, and to start off, he had them watch the others practice.
"Hey... The hell's this?" Gobuken exclaimed in surprise when upon seeing the others training. The other expeditionary goblins were similarly shocked by what they saw.
"No need to worry about it guys." Naruto told them, before his face turned menacing, "The lot of you will be joining them from now on!"
A hidden side seemed to emerge when Naruto is training others, one reminiscent of a drill seargent. He wasn't really a sadistic person, but maybe it was just a part of being a teacher to enjoy your students' suffering. It would explain why Kakashi was always happy and chipper when he was leading Team 7. Naruto wouldn't have his students do anything he wouldn't but considering that his regular training regimen could be considered a form of torture, the expeditionary goblins were in for a harsh time.
"What! Are you bastards tired already?" Naruto shouted encouragingly at the goblins running laps, "Did you cultivate nothing but your own age all this time? Anyone who falls behind will have to do push-ups! If you don't want to, you better start running even faster, ladies!"
"You damned brat! Don't get all cocky just because y-" One of the expeditionary goblins who seemed to have had it with the training rushed at him to attack. Naruto fixed rebellious behaviour with force, as he punched the goblin's lights out. "ERGH!"
The next few hours were a repeated cycle of screams and treatment, and at the end everybody sparred with Naruto. They found themselves unconscious or on the brink of it, and something about the scene seemed familiar to him. Naruto didn't consider this form of training extreme or torturous, but that might just be his shinobi heritage and the training he underwent. Considering he hasn't thrown them off a cliff to have them awaken some inner power, he thinks that he's being really gentle in his treatment.
"Ah, I knew it..." Gobumi exclaimed softly while sweat dropping.
"I expected this too..." Gobukichi replied, as the three of them watched from a ledge.
"Goburuto is really tough when he's like that." Gobue added to the conversation.
"Another ten laps!" Naruto exclaimed after they restarted the training session. The goblins were a tough group, since they recovered pretty quickly.
After everyone was done training, Naruto implemented a few more rules. Most of the goblins were too tired and sore to go hunting, but Naruto really wanted to finish that fish quest. Kurama had already left to hunt for something while Naruto was training the others, so went into the forest alone.
"Hey, Gobumi." Naruto called her over, "Can you keep an eye on the girls, make sure no one tries anything while I'm gone. Have Gobukichi stay in the cave to help you if need be."
"Sure, but where are you going?"
"I'm heading to the river, to see if I can get my hands on some fish. I'll see if I can grab some for everyone, maybe we can grill them or make some sort of stew."
"Alright, be safe. Don't you want to take someone with you?" Gobumi asked him slightly worried.
"No, it's fine." Naruto reassured her, since he doubted the quest will be too difficult. After he began moving through the forest, he contacted Kurama and asked him if he wanted to help him deal with the quest.
"Fine..." Kurama replied back through text, "I finished eating and was planning on finding a place to nap, but I guess I can help you."
Staying near the orc mine, Naruto decided to work on some skills while waiting for his foxy friend. He worked on improving [Mana Bolt, hoping to improve it somehow. He did notice that it lacked stopping power, and he had some ideas to improve it. Kurama showed up before he could work on it some more, so he decided he'll train it another time.
"So, what did you eat?" Naruto broke the ice as they moved through the forest.
"I found a few rabbits; they were pretty tasty. Cooked meat tastes much better, so I'll probably bring my catches back with me."
"It's been a while since we talked normally."
"Before we were brought to this world, we only just became friends. Before that we wanted nothing to do with one another."
"I guess you're right..." Naruto admitted sheepishly, "Still, even if we haven't been friends for that long, I still consider you one of my closest."
"Considering you're the first person since old man sage that I trusted..." Kurama began saying, "Still, why're you bringing all this up?"
"It felt a bit awkward to just walk around without talking."
Kurama just snickered for a bit in response, and after a few moments Naruto joined him. They continued walking leisurely in silence, before suddenly Kurama stopped.
"I'm sensing a truly murderous intent moving in this direction. No animal can release something like it, at least no beast I'm familiar with."
"Let's get up into the trees, we can see what this thing is." Naruto suggested, and the two of them quickly climbed up into one with plenty of leaves to hide them. They also agreed to only communicate through the party chat.
Soon, Naruto was alerted to something coming his way by [Presence Sensor, and he activated [Echolocation] to learn its more precise location. He'd stopped having it constantly active, after he got tired of the information overload.
They only waited for a minute or two, but finally someone appeared within their line of sight. It was a human male with white hair, although he wasn't an old man and white seemed to be his natural hair colour. He looked like an adventurer, with his sword and armour, but upon seeing him, Naruto felt an odd sensation. Asking Kurama through the chat, he also confirmed that his furry friend felt something similar. He quickly used [Observe] on this man and showed Kurama the window that popped up.
Name: Reiji Shigaraki Alias: All For One
Race: Human Job: Adventurer
Title: Symbol of Evil
A true monster wearing human skin, this man has caused untold suffering in his first life. With thousands of corpses, he managed to become known as the Symbol of Evil, and nothing could stop him. He's committed all manner of crimes, from murder, theft, torture, blackmail and many others, building up his criminal empire along the way. He possessed an extremely powerful ability, one that let him steal the quirks of others, and he spent over a century cultivating it. However, there will always be light that opposes the darkness and eventually he was killed by what he created. Upon being reincarnated, it didn't take long before he joined a guild and killed the merchants he was hired to protect, as well as his own party members.
"So, am I the only person that thinks we should deal with this guy? From the looks of it, he's pretty much a weaker version of Madara or Orochimaru." Naruto asked through the chat. Normally, he's the type to try and give people chances to change, but this guy was like a mixture of the worst people he's ever met.
"No, I'm with you on that. This guy makes those two seem like saints, if very corrupt ones, and I can tell that if he's allowed to grow stronger, he'll be a big problem later on." Kurama replied, his [Negative Emotion Sensing] making it really clear how disturbed this guy was.
Quickly making a plan, Kurama stayed hidden while Naruto jumped below. Shigaraki was surprised to see someone, or rather something, appear in front of him. As he was reaching for his weapon, Naruto immediately locked eyes with his opponent and used [Evil Eye] and [Intimidating Roar] in unison.
'That's a pretty good combo,' Naruto thought to himself as his opponent froze in the middle of drawing his sword, 'but I should keep going.'
"[Pump Up, [Power Strike, [Body Reinforcement, [Weapon Reinforcement, [Venom, [Electro-Master, [Dash]" Naruto whispered to himself as he drew his estoc and rushed at the white-haired man, with his weapon sparking with electricity and dripping deadly venom.
Striking true and puncturing through his throat, Naruto quickly continued moving, ripping his sword out and using [Dash] to get clear. The reason for this was that Kurama had been charging up and aiming his [Miniature Bijudama] at Shigaraki, and once Naruto was out of range, he let the attack loose. It struck their opponent in the head and blew it into a fine red mist, although the rest of his body seemed to be fine, if bloody.
"Well, that was anti-climactic..." Naruto muttered to himself once the battle was over. He was honestly a bit surprised at how quickly the fight was over, and how easy it was. He figured it would go on for a while longer, and apparently so did Kurama.
"AHAHAHA!" Kurama laughed himself silly once he got down the tree, "Symbol of Evil? AHAHA!"
"Are you sure that your [Observe] wasn't wrong?" Kurama asked after he finished cackling for a bit, all the worry about this being a second coming of Madara seeming like a bad joke.
"No..." Naruto replied, as he began looking through the backpack Shigaraki was carrying. He took out several pouches of coins and jewels, the only odd thing about them is the blood stains covering them. "The window told us that he killed the merchants he was protecting and his party. These pouches and all these other valuables, they don't belong to this guy. There are also a few pieces of equipment, on him and in his backpack, that wouldn't be used by someone with the job of [Adventurer]."
"Hmm..." Kurama hummed to himself as he considered Naruto's words, "When we first got here neither of us was anywhere near as strong as we used to be. Maybe it's the same thing with him. It actually makes sense when you think about it, but I'm still confused why the fight was very easy."
"I think my combination of [Evil Eye] and [Intimidating Roar] was what really let us win quickly. I'm not sure why, maybe we were just lucky, but he was completely paralyzed by their combination. Both mention that somebody with a strong enough will can fight them off, but maybe the surprise of it gave us an advantage?" Naruto theorized, although he wasn't too sure. Eventually, they both decided that it didn't really matter all that much. "Hey, do you want to see the skill I got from the skill book?"
"Hmm? Sure, but how's it going to help here?"
"Just watch, [Auto-Loot]." Naruto intoned, and all of the corpse's equipment disappeared off its body and into Naruto's arms, all neatly folded, "It lets me easily loot anything valuable from my opponents."
Kurama just hummed, not really all that impressed. It was certainly a useful skill, but it was one used for niche purposes. "So, are you going to eat his corpse?"
"WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?" Naruto shouted in response. Taking a few deep breaths after hearing Kurama start snickering at his reaction, he stored the equipment and gear into his [Inventory, before replying, "Why, do you want to eat it? Maybe this time you'll be able to eat someone without having them chew up your stomach."
"Yeah!?" Kurama replied hotly, "Well, at least I don't have to say that my first time eating a woman, I was literally eating her flesh!"
"OI! Why'd you have to bring that up?" Naruto replied scowling, as he lost this little verbal spar between them. He wasn't able to come up with any comeback after what Kurama said. Taking a few moments to cool off, "Still, he probably has some useful skills. I can't believe I'm doing this again."
With visible disgust, he cut open Shigaraki's chest and ripped out his heart and quickly devoured it, followed by the liver and kidneys. He paused for a few moments, while hunched over and gagging, and read the description of the skill that he obtained.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming Reiji Shigaraki, you have obtained the Active Skill [All For One]!
[All For One] (Active, Lvl: Max): In the dawn of quirks, one man was born with an extraordinarily powerful quirk. One that allowed him to take and give quirks, as well as use them as he desired. Make note that this skill only works on superpowers under the category of 'Quirk'.
Ability to Take and Give Quirks
[Job Obtained!]
As a result of consuming Reiji Shigaraki, you have obtained the Job [Adventurer]!
[Adventurer: This job allows its user to become an adventurer specializing in a myriad of skills.
Grants Bonuses to Adventuring Skills
Increases Growth Rate to Adventuring Skills
"I think I know why this guy wasn't that strong." Naruto commented after thinking for a while. "I was pretty confused about what these 'quirks' were, but it seems like they're a specific type of ability. This skill, or quirk, it only lets its user take and give quirks. Nothing else, so in this world that doesn't have quirks, it's pretty much useless."
"That makes sense..." Kurama replied, before chuckling to himself a bit. "It's like a bloodline that lets you steal other bloodlines and use them, even give them to others. Now you have it, and it's a completely useless skill."
"Yeah..." Naruto replied with a sweat drop, while Kurama continued laughing. Shaking his head, and not wanting to eat human meat anymore, he used [Earth Control] to bury the body deep beneath the ground. "Come on, let's just keep moving towards the river. I can wash up and finish the quest there."
They continued on their way towards the river, and soon enough they reached it. Washing off the blood, he began watching and noticed that only a few fish were swimming along it. Figuring that they'll have to head upstream to find the source of the problem, they eventually found the source of the river. It was a relatively small lake, when compared to what the duo had seen. The lake had a small waterfall, originating from the cliff above.
"Guess I'll have to dive in to see why there's barely any fish in the river. They probably get washed down by the waterfall, and they should thrive in this small lake. Will you be okay staying up here, since you can't breathe underwater." Naruto deduced after seeing no obvious clues.
"No, I'll be miserable napping here in the shade of a tree on a nice sunny day, while you go get me some fish to eat." Kurama replied sarcastically, before he found a spot to lay in and quickly fell asleep.
'I should drench the furball in some really cold water.' Naruto thought to himself before he shook those thoughts away. 'It's time to see if I actually get a water breathing skill from that pill or if it just lets me breathe underwater for six hours.'
Eating the magic blue pill, he was pretty happy to have a window pop up, informing him of the new skill he got.
[Skill Created]
As a result of consuming [Water Breathing Pill, you have obtained the Active Skill [Water Breathing]!
[Water Breathing] (Active, Lvl: 1): The ability to breathe underwater has always been exclusive to fish and other water dwelling creatures. However, many have developed ways to imitate this, to discover the riches hidden in the depths. This skill uses MP to grant the user the ability to breath underwater for a duration of time.
'Nice! That's a really handy skill, even if I'll rarely get to use it. I just have to make sure to use it every ten minutes, and as it levels up, I'll have to do that less and less.' Naruto thought to himself as he stored most of his clothes and equipment in his [Inventory]. The only thing he kept on were his underwear and bowie knife, since everything else will just weigh him down underwater.
Activating [Water Breathing, Naruto quickly dived into the water and began swimming, and after several minutes he encountered the source of the problem.
Chomper Pike Lvl: 27
These fish are not native to these waters and are an invasive species to this lake. Bigger than a normal pike, they also possess a great deal of razor-sharp teeth that they use to tear apart their prey. For large prey, they bite them and latch on, until they die of blood loss.
If it wasn't for his high levelled [Night Vision] skill, Naruto would probably be blind in the water. He was really thankful that he saw the fish, since it immediately began swimming towards him incredibly quickly. Activating [Body Reinforcement, [Weapon Reinforcement] and [Power Strike, he tried to stab the fish but missed. With the water slowing down his movement, he mistimed when he was supposed to attack, and the Chomper Pike managed to bite his left arm. It hurt quite a bit, since the fish were a bit bigger than the average goblin, with mouths that scale with their size.
Thanks to [Steel Skin] and [Physical Damage Reduction, the fish's fangs didn't pierce his skin. But the pressure was painful, but he was thankfully right-handed, which allowed him to stab the fish and kill it. Storing it in his [Inventory, he continued swimming and exploring the lake. He encountered a few more of these fish, but he was barely timing his attacks to kill them.
'I need a better way to deal with them. If I could get them on land, then dealing with will be extremely easy, but even stabbing them is pretty difficult.' Naruto thought about what he can do for a few minutes, while renewing his [Water Breathing]. Eventually an idea came to mind, and he smacked his head, 'I'm so stupid. I can use [Hydro-Hand] to launch them out of the water and then deal with them.'
Using that strategy, Naruto would control the water around the fish to throw them onto the land. He even managed to use [Hydro-Hand] to increase his movement speed underwater. After launching over 20 of the Chomper Pikes out of the water and not finding any more, he left the lake to deal with them. He was surprised to see that they were still flapping around but figured their monster status let them survive for longer outside the water.
Naruto thought about practicing his skills on them but decided to just finish them off with his knife. Storing them into his [Inventory, Naruto went back into the water to find if there were any more Chomper Pikes. He found a few more, but rather than throw them out of the water, he tried to use [Mana Bolt]. He didn't try with any of his elemental skills, since fire won't work underwater, lightning will harm him as well, wind will disperse quickly, and earth will move too slowly.
Rather than using a standard [Mana Bolt, he focused and shaped the sphere of mana into the form of an arrow. He ignored the window screen that popped up and sent the mana arrow to pierce through one of the fish. He kept doing this for those left, and by then he was near the bottom of the lake.
Looking around, he saw something shiny in the lake's soil out the corner of his eye. Digging around, he eventually managed to find a metallic bangle buried in the soil. Storing it in his [Inventory] and deciding to look it over later, Naruto wondered how he'll find the rest of the fish. The lake may not be massive, but it was still quite large, and he didn't have any quest pointers. His [Night Vision] didn't allow him to see everything, and Naruto began looking through his skills to see if he had anything that'll help.
It didn't take him long before he felt like an even bigger idiot than before, as he realized he could still use [Echolocation]. It worked even better underwater, and soon Naruto had hunted down all the Chomper Pikes in the lake and gotten a quest completion screen. Exiting the water, he found a spot in the sun to sit in and dry out, and began reading through the new skill, the bangle and the quest reward.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of experimenting with [Mana Bolt, you have obtained the Active Skill [Mana Arrow]!
[Mana Arrow] (Active, Lvl: 2): A step up from the basic [Mana Bolt, the user shapes their mana into the form of an arrow before firing it. The shape grants it impressive piercing power, as well as increased flight speed through its aerodynamic shape. This skill uses MP to create and launch a mana arrow.
[Bangle of Strength]
This slightly rusty bangle is enchanted to grant its user increased strength, allowing them to strike harder and carry more. The enhancements it grants aren't incredible, but that's to be expected of an item of the rank [Normal].
[Skill Synthesis Orb]
An extremely rare quest reward, it allows the user to combine several skills into one. It is a one-time use consumable and eating it will not do anything other than destroying it.
Naruto began using [Repair] on the bangle, since it's a useful item to have equipped, and began pondering what he should do with the reward he got from the quest. Since it was a one-time use consumable, and it specified that eating it will only destroy it, Naruto was unsure what skills to combine.
"Hey, Kurama! Come check this out!" Naruto called him over, and explained what the small glowing orb can do. "I'm not sure what I should combine. I can combine all the elemental manipulation skills, or the silk generation and spinning, or the mana manipulation ones. UGH! I wish this wasn't a single-use item."
"Hmm..." Kurama hummed to himself, while Naruto sulked a bit, "You're an idiot!"
"Hey!" Naruto replied with indignation, not expecting that reply, and answered with a slightly hurt tone, "Why'd you say that?"
"Well, you didn't even consider trying to change that [Absorption] skill of yours. You clearly hate eating humans, and you'll certainly have to do that more in the future. Gaining skills from eating, that's something that's simply too useful to ignore, but if you could make it so you don't need to eat their flesh to get their skills, then why not do so."
"Oh..." Naruto replied softly, "I didn't think of that. Why didn't I think of that?"
"Because you're an idiot." Kurama replied with a smirk, not being able to resist letting loose that barb.
"OI!" Naruto exclaimed, "Stop calling me that. Anyways, which skills should I combine with it?"
"Did you forget what skill you got earlier today?"
"A skill I got earlier?" Naruto muttered to himself, before remembering what his furry friend was talking about. "Oh, you mean the [All For One] skill, which has a very stupid name. It's not a bad idea, but I'm sort of worried that it might only work on living people if I combine them. Let me look through my skills and see if there's something else that I can use."
Looking through his skill list, Naruto carefully read each one, just to make sure he didn't miss something useful. After a few minutes, he actually found something that would be really helpful and brought it up with Kurama. They discussed it for a bit, before agreeing that the combination should work well together. When Naruto used the [Skill Synthesis Orb, they confirmed that the skills used will be lost, but they were confident in their choices and pressed accept.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of using [Skill Synthesis Orb, you have obtained the Active Skill [Assimilation]!
[Assimilation] (Active, Lvl: MAX): Created through combining [Absorption, [Auto-Loot] and [All For One, this skill is greater than the sum of its parts. It allows the user to take the skills of enemies killed directly or indirectly, but the user must be aware of the enemies killed. The user still gains the skills of things he eats and must eat objects to gain skills from them, as well as enemies that weren't killed by the user directly or indirectly.
Naruto was really happy and impressed by what he got, but he was confused by a few things. Looking into it a bit more, he learned that indirect kills meant things like enemies his followers defeat, enemies who are killed by attacks he reflects at them and a few other cases listed. He also learned that the chance to get skills is the same as it was with [Absorption]. Ultimately, Naruto was just happy that the number of humans he'll have to eat is reduced.
Having finished the quest and acquired a good number of fish, Naruto put on his clothes and gear, as well as the [Bangle of Strength]. The duo then began making their way towards the mine, but before reaching it, Naruto took out a sack he brought with him and stored as much fish as the sack could fit. He didn't want to carry it all the way from the lake, so he figured he'll take them out a short distance from their home. The goblins enjoyed a nice meal of roasted fish and fish stew that evening.
Day 30
It was raining heavily, so they decided to have another tournament to decide on the hierarchy for their community. Naruto was pretty okay with doing things like that for now, since it encouraged the goblins to train hard to improve their ranking. It wasn't all that different from how things worked in shinobi villages.
With the difference in power between goblins and hobgoblins, it was decided to split the event into two divisions. Kurama initially wasn't interested in participating, but after hearing a few of the cocky older goblins call him a coward, he decided to show them who's in charge. Naruto had to have Kurama participate in the hobgoblin division after several goblins found themselves heavily bruised and unconscious.
The outcome wasn't too surprising, with Naruto taking first place, Gobukichi second, Kurama third and Gobuken fourth. Kurama didn't really care all that much, since he knew that if he was allowed to use his [Miniature Bijudama, he would have gotten first place.
"If magic was allowed, I bet you'd have gotten higher in the ranks." Gobusato was telling Gobusei.
"I don't care about that... Good luck Sato!" Replied Gobusei, who wasn't interested in the tournament in the first place.
Afterwards, everyone went on to do their own thing, Gobukichi training, Gobue mining and Gobumi teaching others to read. Naruto went to talk to Gobusei about her magic, since he's been curious as to what she uses.
"Currently, I know three magic systems: Fire, Water and Abyss." Gobusei explained to him.
Since he read a random book about magic and relied on skills, he got through [Absorption, he didn't know what these systems were. Gobusei explained that they were just types of magic, each having sets of spells belonging to them. Fire and water magic were straight forward, but apparently abyss revolved around casting illusions.
Naruto checked on Kurama, but the lazy fox was happily sleeping. Shaking his head at his friend's antics, Naruto decided to check on the human girls and see if they needed anything. He ended up assisting them in various tasks, but he didn't mind since they were cute. It also raised the level of [Manufacturing, which was a nice bonus.
Day 30
With the downpour continuing, they decided to remain inside that day as well. After morning training, Naruto and Gobukichi decided to spar. Naruto had made some armour out of a Black Wolf pelt, and he also took some of the things they got when they fought the orcs. He took a round shield, as well as the leader's halberd, which he was still getting used to. It wasn't a weapon he's ever used, so it was taking him some time to get used to.
"Haha! Good job Gobukichi!" Naruto praised his friend, who blocked his attack with his new shield. It was larger and even tougher than the previous one, with barely a scratch appearing after blocking a strike from his halberd. Gobukichi was barely moved by that attack, showing just how strong he's become.
Naruto right now specialized in using his abilities to create openings for quick and powerful finishers. He has trouble with opponents like Gobukichi, who can take and inflict a great deal of damage. Gobukichi had also gotten much better at using his axe, learning from experience how to best swing it. Now that it was combined with a [Fire Spirit Stone, that crescent axe is much deadlier. Even with [Fire Resistance, hot things are still hot.
"I'm not done yet! Come at me Goburuto!"
"Don't go sulking when you lose!"
A good part of the day was spent on that mock battle, and despite his superior stamina and endurance, Naruto was quite tired. Fighting somebody who can tank hits and return them was very exhausting, especially since Naruto didn't use any of his magic skills or ones like the silk skills. He now knew what other shinobi felt when fighting him.
Later that night, a few hushed voices were arguing amongst themselves.
"Are we doing it tonight? If we get caught, we'll be in deep shit..."
"What are you getting scared for? There's a whole five of them beauties, not using them is just weird..."
"I want a taste of them..."
"Come on, it's not like them girl goblins can satisfy us now. There's no reason we have to listen to that little brat, right?"
After sparring with Gobukichi, Naruto spent the day making clothes and other gear. Everyone was sleeping when it happened, but [Presence Sensor] detected eight individuals heading towards the human girls' area. Naruto woke up the moment that it did and saw the group of goblins whispering to each other. He already knew what they were planning on doing.
He was more than willing to take care of them on the spot, but he didn't want them to try and claim that Naruto misunderstood something. He knew that if they weaselled their way out, they'll just try again when he's not around. Grabbing his weapon, Naruto stealthily followed them to get proof.
Once he confirmed that their plan was to assault the girls, Naruto immediately acted and cut one of the goblins in half. Beating down the rest and tying them using his silk, it turned out that it was the former hobgoblin leader and his lackeys. The girls were awoken by the sound of fighting and began screaming in fear.
"I told you recently not to touch them, and yet your desires are out of control?" Naruto asked them, his voice sounding ominous. "Why not just satisfy yourself with other goblins?"
"Damn it... A brat like you isn't going to get it. Once you try a human, you can't be satisfied with goblins anymore! Back when-" The former hobgoblin leader began ranting, but Naruto didn't let him continue.
"Like I care." Naruto replied as he shut him up with a powerful blow. Taking a deep breath to calm down, he then began reassuring the scared girls, "You must've been scared, but there's no need to worry anymore."
"You'll be fine, I won't let anyone harm you." Naruto continued after Rubellia crashed into him crying. After a few moments, the other goblins had woken up and come to see the commotion, "Gobukichi, carry those guys to the hall near the entrance. Also, wake up everyone and have them gather there. I want everyone to witness what I'm about to do."
"Am I doing the right thing, Kurama?" Naruto asked his oldest friend through the chat, his temper being managed thanks to [Gamer's Mind]. "Am I just overreacting, or is this the right thing to do? Maybe I should just kick them out and make it clear that they shouldn't return."
"You're not in the wrong or anything like that. Honestly, these pieces of crap have it coming. You also have to show the rest of the goblins that you're the leader, so some show of force is needed. Their entire mentality revolves around might makes right, and if you desire to change that, you need to show that you will punish rule breakers. Still, you're not the sadistic type, but you can't just give them an easy death."
Sighing at the advice, which while helpful, didn't really give him any concrete plan. A little while later, everyone had gathered near the entrance. Naruto explained to them the rules they have to follow and the punishment that follows.
Staring at the bound goblins, Naruto's temper exploded, and an oppressive aura began spreading from him. He was using [Gamer's Mind] to keep a lid on his anger, but now, he just let it all loose.
Killing intent was a commonly used technique by most shinobi, but its strength varied from ninja to ninja. For a shinobi of Naruto's calibre, who could easily take the title of strongest, his killing intent was a devastating weapon. He may have become a weak goblin upon being reincarnated, but his willpower remained solid as steel.
His rage at what these goblins had done was immense, and the killing intent coming off him showed that. The bound goblins felt the entirety of his anger slamming into them, and they all understood that they were going to die. Most began attempting to crawl away or plead, without much success. Two of them acted differently, and it seemed that the killing intent hit them much harder, and they bit off their tongues in order to escape this oppressive aura.
It was clear to everyone what had happened, since the silk bindings covering their mouths became stained with blood. Blood continued leaking from their mouths, dripping down their chins and cheeks, as they began choking and spasming, until their bodies stilled.
The other bound goblins' terror only grew further, with several more considering copying their dead comrades. Naruto kept up his killing intent, while walking towards one of the goblins. Grabbing him by the head, Naruto activated a number of skills, and began squeezing, while ignoring the screams of pain emanating from his captive. Cracking sounds could be heard from the screaming goblin as his head was being crushed, and eventually those screams stopped as his body stopped squirming.
Tossing him away, Naruto moved on to another goblin and grabbed them by the neck. Squeezing, just enough to stop them from breathing, and he choked him for a while before snapping his neck and throwing him to the pile of dead goblins. He beat the sixth goblin to death, and cut up the seventh with his envenomed knife, which made each cut burn like hell.
The last goblin, or rather hobgoblin, Gobuken was quivering and crying in fear, but Naruto wasn't going to let him go. Grabbing him by the head, he used [Electro-Master] on him, and the screams began as Gobuken's body convulsed in extreme agony. Naruto wasn't a sadistic individual, and he needed to have [Gamer's Mind] active to keep him focused. If it weren't for that skill, he would've already vomited and cried a bit.
It wasn't that he felt guilty about punishing them, since they did try to commit something terrible. He also wasn't feeling conflicted about whether his actions were right or wrong, since he was well aware that Konoha had its own Torture and Interrogation force.
Having met Anko and Ibiki, he knew that they would consider what he did to be foreplay. It was mostly his kind heart that was against this, having preferred to give them a quick and merciful death. However, he knew that this punishment was needed, so he steeled his heart and did what he had to. Eventually, Gobuken stopped convulsing, his body having gone still and it was clear that he was dead.
"Well then, do you guys understand the rules now?" Naruto asked as he turned around, his face and clothes bloody. After finishing off the tied-up goblins, Naruto's anger dissipated, and he relaxed a bit. Having begun smiling after letting some steam loose, that seemed to terrify the remaining goblins more than what he did. It didn't help that they felt his killing intent, even though it was only a very small amount that escaped his tight hold on it.
With the punishment having taken some time, and the difficulty the rest of the goblins had with going to sleep after witnessing what they did, Naruto let them sleep in till noon and skip training. He dealt with the bodies, using [Earth Control] to bury them, but he did use [Assimilation] to see if he could get anything. He wasn't surprised to get nothing, but he didn't mind it too much. He did vomit a bit, since what he did was rather gruesome, especially to someone like him, but Kurama reassured him through their chat that he did what he had to. He also looked through the skill that he obtained while he was delivering the punishment.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of releasing your intent, you have obtained the Active Skill [Killing Intent]!
[Killing Intent] (Active, Lvl: 1): A skill commonly used by shinobi, it allows them to overwhelm their opponents using their sheer aura. The stronger and deadlier the shinobi, the more powerful the effect is. Those feeling killing intent could become paralyzed, terrified, unconscious, suicidal and some might even die of heart attacks.
Naruto ended up sleeping till 2 in the afternoon, and after waking up he decided to go out hunting. Gobukichi, Gobumi and Gobue joined him, and he left the defence of the human girls to five goblins, after making it clear what would happen to them if anything should occur. Naruto wanted to ask Kurama if he wanted to join them, but he'd already left to go hunting on his own.
The first thing they came across that day was the Triple Horned Horse. They were twice the size of normal horses, they had three horns on its head, and they were covered with thick scales. Not only were they stronger than hobgoblins, but there were two of them. At Naruto's signal, Gobumi and Gobue fired their envenomed arrows at the horses. Gobumi's arrow struck one in its eye and Gobue's shattered on the other's scales.
'Those scales are tough! That crossbow can pierce plate armour, and it simply bounced off!' Naruto thought to himself, nearly shouting those thoughts out loud.
Even though the arrow pierced its eye, and carried the strongest venom Naruto could produce with his [Venom] skill, it was still standing and started charging them.
"Woah there!" Naruto exclaimed as he tied it up with a great deal of silk webbing, but even then, it was still trying to escape. It even began tearing a few, requiring Naruto to create even more silk to hold it down. It was actually starting to scare him, with how wild it was.
Meanwhile, Gobukichi had slammed into the other one, stunning it for a few moments, giving Naruto the time to tie the poisoned one for the girls to finish off. Naruto soon joined him, and the scales were giving them some trouble in inflicting damage. However, they soon figured a way of breaking them off and they killed it. It was hard work, but that made this hunt pretty meaningful. They began harvesting the beasts, and Naruto decided to simply eat them, rather than use [Assimilation, since he was quite hungry.
They collected the six horns, the hearts, the scales and the tastiest cuts of meat and ate them. Naruto got six skills from them, showing just how strong these beasts are. Normally, even groups of hobgoblins wouldn't be able to beat one.
"Awesome!" Naruto exclaimed as he ate one of the horns, and while it tasted fine, he was ecstatic with the skills that he got from the horses.

As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Passive Skill [Armoured Scale Charge]!
[Armoured Scale Charge] (Passive, Lvl: 1): Individuals with armour often take to the front lines, charging forth and allowing their armour to absorb damage. This gives them the opportunity to inflict damage without worrying about parrying or dodging blows. It's no different with heavily armoured monsters, who use their scales, hides or exoskeletons to take the brunt of damage. This skill enhances a charge while armoured with scales.

As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Active Skill [Scaled Horse's Neigh]!
[Scaled Horse's Neigh] (Active, Lvl: 1): A skill unique to the Triple Horned Horse and the rest of its evolutions, but it is not something that is rare amongst monsters in general. By releasing a loud neighing sound to intimidate and frighten approaching creatures. This skill allows the user to release a neigh that has a chance to inflict Fear and Stun. Fear is more likely to be afflicted than Stun.

As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Passive Skill [Rapid Recovery]!
[Rapid Recovery] (Passive, Lvl: Max): The most annoying and difficult monsters to defeat are the ones capable of healing themselves and recovering their strength. This allows them to tire out their opponents, and strike when they're weak and tired. This skill improves the user's recovery rate significantly, in other words this skill increases the user's HP Regeneration.

As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Passive Skill [Enhanced Leg Strength]!
[Enhanced Leg Strength] (Passive, Lvl: Max): Strong legs are nothing but advantageous, allowing one to move fast and to launch powerful kicks. This skill enhances the strength and power of one's legs.

As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Passive Skill [Improved Charging Power]!
[Improved Charging Power] (Passive, Lvl: Max): Charging an enemy is usually a terrible idea, unless you possess extraordinary defences and speed. However, plenty of animals utilize this method of attacking to stun their prey, then skewering them with their horn or trampling them. This skill enhances the power of charging attacks.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of eating a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Active Skill [Triple Stab]!
[Triple Stab] (Active, Lvl: 1): The unique skill of Triple Horned Horses, they can use their horns to stab their prey with their three horns. This skill allows the user to stab something three times, either vertically or horizontally.
Even Gobumi and Gobue tried out some of the scales and found them to be quite tasty. Wanting to test out [Triple Stab, since it seemed rather interesting, he took out his estoc and faced a tree. Using his skill and stabbing the tree, Naruto was slightly surprised to see a hole appear above and below where his estoc landed. He figured this skill would allow him to strike something three times quickly, but it didn't. Practicing with it a few times, he quickly figured how to choose whether the three strikes were horizontal or vertical.
They continued hunting as usual, and when Naruto went to sleep in his hammock, something woke him up. It was Rubellia climbing into his hammock with a scared look on her face.
'I guess it makes sense. She's still scared after what happened.' Naruto thought to himself, and he let her sleep with him. Nothing dirty happened between them, but Naruto did find the warmth of another body comforting.
Day 33
When Naruto woke up, he was surprised to find somebody sleeping with him. He knew Rubellia climbed into his hammock, but what surprised him was that Gobumi had as well. How she didn't wake him up stumped him and made him wonder if Gobumi had some ability to hide that even he couldn't detect.
'My arms...' Naruto thought in panic, as the girls weren't letting go of his arms and nobody would help him. Gobusei passed by, smiled, and took his magic book with her. Gobukichi similarly smiled and offered him a prayer, while Kurama just began snickering quietly and mocking him through chat. Naruto thought Gobue would help him, but after seeing Gobumi, she left. His arms were so sore after being used as pillows, that he accidentally dropped his sandwich while eating.
"Oh? Did something happen to your arm?" Felicia asked him in concern.
"It's fine, it should be back to normal soon." Naruto replied reassuringly, as he blew off the bits of rock off his bread. He was only released from being used as a pillow after about an hour from when he woke up.
During morning training, everybody was pumped up and energetic. Naruto figured that the goblins realized that they need to put more effort to become as strong as him. With the increase in their numbers, Naruto had decided to organize everyone into groups, and he'll be supervising them all.
Gobukichi is the commander of 'Hammer', the heavily armed forces that will attack enemies head on. Gobusato will lead 'Sword', the lightly armed forces that focus on mobility. Gobumi is the leader of 'Bow', the long-range attack forces that use projectile weapons. Gobue will lead 'Pickaxe', which focuses on chores and logistical support. Gobusei is the leader of 'Staff', the mage group, even though there aren't any other mages amongst the goblins. Naruto named them after the weapon or tool that best symbolizes their group, but he might change it later on.
There were currently 39 goblins from his generation, although not all were born the same day as him, some were born a few months before. There were also around 20 older goblins who could hunt and fight, and with Kurama that brings up their total manpower to 60.
Since everybody was busy training, studying or sleeping, Naruto went out hunting by himself after sparring with everyone today. The first thing he found was a Demon Spider, something he really liked to eat, especially when it was fried to a crisp. Their carapace were light and sturdy, so he took that for making armour and ate the rest.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a Demon Spider, you have obtained the Active Skill [Expanded Vision]!
[Expanded Vision] (Active, Lvl: Max): This skill allows the user to expand their field of vision and see a greater number of things than normal. This skill uses MP to expand the user's field of vision.
The skill was incredibly helpful, even if it gave him a bit of a headache from seeing so much, but it didn't take long before it helped him find a Triple Horned Horse. The beast still hasn't seen him, so he quickly found a place to hide in some nearby bushes. With [Echolocation, Naruto was able to determine that there was nobody around, so he figured it was convenient to test something out.
He decided to test out his [Demise Magic] on it; to see how powerful it is on something stronger than a slime. Calling on his mana, he used [Spear of the End, the lowest of the Demise spells and launched it at the horse. The spear hit the horse's neck and decapitated it, punching through its armoured scales like they were made of paper.
'Seriously? It's this powerful?' Naruto thought in shock. He already knew that this magic was strong, but for the weakest spell to completely destroy such a tough opponent in one hit, it was mind boggling. 'This magic is a danger to myself and to my allies. I was right to keep it as a last resort.'
Afterwards, Naruto took apart the Triple Horned Horse and ate it. He read about the skill he got and tried it out. He freaked out in the beginning, since it made him look like some sort of lizardman. He did calm himself down and cancel the skill, causing the scales on his arm to disappear.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a Triple Horned Horse, you have obtained the Active Skill [Armoured Scale Formation]!
[Armoured Scale Formation] (Active, Lvl: 1): Many creatures grow scales as a defensive mechanism, mainly in the reptile family, and they're quite effective. The greater this skill's level, then the greater the defensive properties the scales possess. This skill uses MP to grow scales.
'Well, the defensive properties are great, but it makes me look freaky.' Naruto thought to himself, as he continued his search for more prey. After a while, Naruto stumbled onto a Green Slime and used [Pyrokinesis] to fry it. He kept grilling it till the core was nice and crispy, and then ate it.
[Skill Created!]
As a result of consuming a Green Slime, you have obtained the Active Skill [Metamorphosis]!
[Metamorphosis] (Active, Lvl: 1): The ability to alter one's body, both in shape and size, is quite rare and often only found with creatures possessing a relatively amorphous form. This skill allows the user to morph their own body to a certain extent, such as softening their body for increased flexibility and extendibility. This skill uses MP to morph one's body.
Testing out this skill, he managed to soften his limbs and move them in some pretty weird ways. It reminded him a bit of that Genin in the Chunin exams, the one that could extend his limbs. He wasn't too sure what he can do with this skill, but maybe when combined with a few others, it'll be really useful.
Combining this skill with [Self-Body Fluid Control, Naruto was able to recreate what a slime does by absorbing a Horned Rabbit that attacked him. It felt weird, but he somehow managed to absorb small prey into his body. He also figured out that if he liquifies his limbs, before they get torn apart, then he can just reattach them later.
It was a pretty cheap move, and he couldn't use it in front of others because it looked pretty nasty. Though gaining more abilities isn't a bad thing, the sun was starting to set, and satisfied with what he had, Naruto began making his way back to the mine.
Don't go writing about how AFO is so OP, that how can he died this easily. Here's the thing, in the world of Re: Monster, there are no quirks and thus no way for him to build up power through them. Ultimately what made him OP in MHA, was pointless and useless in this world. Granted, he still would have been a very big threat if he stayed alive, if only because of how much stuff he knows. If nothing else, he knows about recreating gunpowder and other more advanced weaponry. Basically, he would have been an even more dangerous version of the Sage from Another World.
So, you might have noticed that I had Naruto combine three skills to get [Assimilation]. So, initially I was going to do that on Day 80, but I decided to have it happen now. I thought about giving him [Synthesis, but that's a bit OP right now. I decided to save it for later and gave him a one-time use consumable to get it working. Quests will keep on coming and with them skill books for skills that Naruto wouldn't get because he won't kill everybody he meets for power. Tell me what you think, but I tried to not make it too OP.
The punishment scene, so I tried to make it clear that Naruto isn't a sadist like Rou. He killed them in painful ways to teach the other goblins what would happen if they disobeyed his rules. Considering that Konoha has a division called the Torture and Interrogation division, Naruto wouldn't consider what he did to be particularly sadistic if you look at what he's probably heard happens there.
I have a question for you, do you think I should start making my chapters shorter. I don't mind writing a minimum of 10K words, but I end up having to write multiple arcs in one chapter (by arcs, I mean mini ones, if you know what I mean). I'm going to post a poll, that basically asks whether I should start making my chapters Short (Min 5K), Medium (Min 7K) or keep them Long (10K). You can also comment on what you'd prefer. I need to make it clear, that it won't necessarily make me write faster, since there are a number of factors that make my updates rather slow.
