Episode One
Prologue
It was a calm sunny day in district 23 of Millennium, and the time is 5:17 AM to be precise. A small little girl with orange hair was laying in her bed until a voice rang up to her.
"Neru! Get up, it's your first day and you are going to be late!"
"Ugh, yes mom I'm up..." The little girl then yells out, struggling to get out of bed as she is so sleepy.
The girl's name is Neru, and she proceeds to sloppily get up from her bed which reveals her dragon pattern pyjamas.
She then begins her morning routine by heading to the bathroom to splash water on her face to clear her vision and fully wake herself up. She then proceeds to brush her teeth with great speed as if she wants it to be over with quickly.
The maiden then undresses herself, stepping towards a shower and starts humming some tunes while she washes herself. She wastes absolutely no time however, and quickly finishes within 3 minutes.
Neru then quickly puts on the prepared Millennium outfit and makes her way down stairs.
"Good morning dear." A voice calls out to her.
"G'day mom. Lemme help with the chores" Neru answers back
The lower floors of Neru's house resemble a family diner that hasn't opened yet.
"No no no, no need dear. It's your big day. You should just eat breakfast and get ready."
"Cmon mom, dad won't come back till 8 and I can't let you do everything by yourself."
"Neru I can handle it on my own, just eat the breakfast I prepared on the table." Neru's mom answers back, not wanting to make her daughter run late.
"Gah fine…" The lass couldn't bring herself to argue against her mom and just sat down to eat breakfast.
"Make sure to not get into trouble on your first day okay? And also make friends!" The mother states, not wanting Neru to be isolated and be in trouble.
"I'll be fine mom, ya don't need to worry about me." She quickly reassures her mother.
Neru then quickly ate the plate of Phat Kaphrao that her mother had cooked up for her, which is an extremely rare sight as Neru usually eats microwaved ramen for breakfast due to the time it takes to cook in the morning.
"Damn, it's 6:12 now, I need to go now before I'm late!" Neru exclaimed, not wanting to be late on the very first day.
As Neru prepares to leave her home, her mother calls out to her to hand over a few things.
"Take these Neru, I made the jacket myself by the way." Neru's mother then proceeded to hand over a map, a lunchbox, and a jacket with a sick eastern dragon pattern.
"Woahhh thanks mom." Neru happily accepts the jacket, as she likes dragons very much.
"Make sure to reach district 1 safely dear!"
"Bye mom!" She then exits her home and begins walking to the path on the map.
"From district 23 to district 1… It will be a long time, I suppose." Neru complains at the sheer distance it would take to reach the Millennium Science School from her home.
The Millennium Territory has a total of 23 districts, with 1 being the core of the territory aka where the school is, and district 23 being close to the outskirts as the most neglected part of the territory.
Neru then proceeds to walk past the slums and low income households of district 23, showing how much of a shithole the entire district is. The sheer neglect to the district has turned it into a crime ridden hell hole like districts in Gehenna. Which means trouble was to follow Neru.
"Is that Neru?" Someone speaks out in the background.
"Yeah that is her! She will fucking pay for what she did last week!" Another person presents an idea
"The Orange Demon has let her guard down it seems, this is the perfect chance for us to get our revenge!" A dog faced man emerges and begins organising an ambush on the poor little girl.
As Neru was walking on her way out of district 23, she quickly sensed that something was out and began calling out to her surroundings.
"You all can come out of hiding, I know there's an ambush for me." Neru began glaring at the buildings surrounding her.
Four ruffians then emerged from their hiding spots as they were found out. One was carrying a baseball bat, another carried a pistol and so forth. 7 thugs came out to greet the now surrounded Neru.
"Where the hell do ya think ya goin?"
"We have some unfinished business you twat."
"Ya think you can fuck us over and get away with it?"
"Hehe Imma enjoy this.."
Neru then quickly sighed at the sight and spoke up. "Guys I'm a bit busy right now, can we just do this later? I don't have time for this nonsense."
The thug's expression then became aggressive due to the fact that Neru doesn't even seem to care about their presence.
"I'm gonna enjoy breaking every bone in your body" The one with the baseball bat then lunged at Neru.
Sigh. "Guess we're doing this then." Neru then effortlessly evaded the man, and kicked his ass making him fall down on the floor.
The other ruffians then began rushing towards Neru as well to avenge their humiliated ally, and Neru began smiling that she can blow off some steam in the morning.
Neru then quickly punched the first man, breaking his nose and uppercutting him within a few seconds.
"ARGHHH MY NOSE!" The thug yelped in pain while Neru kicked his mate in the balls.
"FUCK!" The dude quickly fell on the floor after his manhood got crushed by the strong kick of the Orange Demon.
"Oi oi oi is that all ya got?" Neru taunts her attackers.
Neru then proceeded to headbutt the approaching ruffian, carrying him and throwing the bastard at an incoming thug, neutralising them both.
Another thug then attempted to sneak up on Neru with a knife, but she responded with a roundhouse kick to the face, knocking the retard out with a single strong kick.
"What an idiot."
Neru then spots a thug on the back, aiming his pistol at her.
"Oh Nah, no you fucking don't." She then proceeds to grab the knife and throw it at the assailant, injuring his arm which distracted him long enough for Neru to deliver a gut punch, dropping him to the floor.
Neru then scoffs at how easy it took to take down the ambushing thugs, which made her lower her guard enough for the last standing man to act.
"YOU FELL FOR IT, FOOL! THUNDER GRENADE ATTACK!" The last thug then pulled out a grenade and threw it at Neru.
"SHI-" Before Neru could finish her sentence the grenade blew up on her face and knocked her to the ground.
"Hah, what a pathetic way to go out." The thug yaps before Neru emerged from the smoke.
"Shut the fuck up." Neru then proceeded to do a jump knee strike, breaking the man's face and making him fall unconscious.
"Welp that took a while, but I won! Suck it losers." The girl was covered in smoke and her clothes were somewhat torn from the explosion, but she seemed unscathed aside from minor bruises and cuts from the shrapnel.
"Wait.. Holy shit it's already 7:11? Imma be late!" Neru panicked for a solution but she quickly thought of a way to solve her conundrum.
"Fuck the routes, Im gonna climb." Neru then proceeds to jump on the roof of a random nearby house, and starts dashing across district 23, jumping roof to roof.
"The fuck are you doing? Get down from my roof!"
"The hell?"
"Fuck was that noise?"
"GET DOWN FROM THERE YOUNG LADY!"
Multiple insults were yelled at the trespassing girl, but Neru couldn't give a single shit about them. She was going to make it on time and nothing was going to stop her.
42 minutes went by and she arrived in district 1, the core district of the Millennium territory and where the school governing the territory resided. She quickly jumped down and landed on the academy floor in spectacular fashion, earning the stare of everyone around her.
"Phew, 7:53 I made it in time." Neru then ignored the stares and walked towards the entrance of the Millennium Science School.
"Who's that girl?"
"Look at her torn clothes?"
"Did she just jump down from that building?"
Words were being thrown behind her back, but Neru proceeded to the checkpoint anyway despite the glare from students and passersby. She was then questioned by the entrance guards.
"Are you a student of the Millennium Science School? If yes please state your name."
Neru then answered. "Mikamo Neru, 1st year of the Millennium Science School."
