After Majin Boo is defeated

Son Suno glided across her house, practically dancing as she tended to her chores at a leisurely pace while humming a little song. With Goten spending the weekend with Trunks, she was alone in the house. It was a state that she very much wasn't used to as she always had at least one of her children with her. Under other circumstances, she would find this to be disconcerting but not under these ones. Instead, she felt as free as a bird and positively giddy. After all, she was alone in the house but she wasn't the only one at home.

"Man, seeing my memorial is still really weird," Son Goku, Suno's wife, said as she came in through the back door. "Maybe we should, I dunno, put it in the attic or somethin'."

"I think I have a spare capsule lying around somewhere. We'll put it in that," Suno said as she put away the duster before moving to get the pans out. If there was one thing Suno knew about her wife, it was that she was usually hungry after "work." "How's the garden?" she asked.

Goku walked into the kitchen after putting away her gardening gloves and stepped over to the sink to wash her hands. She used to tend to her garden barehanded but Suno put her foot down for the sake of cleanliness after Goku had brought in dirt one too many times.

"Everything's goin' pretty great. Finished taking out the sprinklers and got rid of the last of the weeds."

Suno put some butter in the pan and set it on medium heat before taking some chicken breasts out from the fridge. With just a tap of her finger and a little bit of ki, the chicken was perfectly trimmed and cubed. "I'm sorry I didn't keep up with it that much."

Goku stepped out of the way to let Suno wash her hands while she used some ki to vaporize the water off of her own. "Nah, you're fine. You were busy taking care of Gohan and Goten. Besides, I was always the one with the green thumb. This actually kinda works out for me since I'm thinking about expanding it." Without needing to be told, Goku pulled the leftover rice out of the fridge and placed it on the counter alongside carrots, celery, potatoes, and shallots from the garden (all of which Goku peeled and cut up with ki).

"I think we couldn't really call it a garden anymore at that point," Suno said with a giggle as she put the shallots into the pan now that the butter had melted.

"Sure we can! It's not like it was a garden before anyway." From the start, Goku's "garden" had been more like a small farm. When you're dealing with someone as fast and energetic as Son Goku, the scale of things tends to get wonky.

Suno laughed at that while she added the chicken to the pan before pulling out the seasonings and curry roux. "That's true."

Goku hummed as she studied her wife. Suno was slightly swaying rhythmically to some unheard tune and her face was positively aglow with a smile. "What's got you in such a good mood?" She loved to see her wife so happy but this seemed a bit much for some random day. For a moment, Goku had been worried that it was some kind of anniversary but a quick glance at the calendar assuaged those fears.

"Oh, it's nothing. It's just that…" Suno paused and looked up, lost in thought for a moment. "It's just you and me again. We've been married for about eighteen years and, of those, we've only actually been together for seven." Goku frowned at this. She knew that everything that had happened that kept them apart needed to happen but that didn't make the truth sting any less.

"This is the first time it's just been the two of us without something looming over the horizon since Gohan was born all that time ago." Suno's vision started to get blurry as tears stung at her eyes. "I finally have you back. It's like a dream come true. No, it is a dream come true."

Goku pulled Suno away from the stove, making sure to remove the pan from heat and turn the burner off, before enveloping her in a loving hug that Suno gladly returned. "I'm sorry I had to go away for so long. I never wanted to leave you."

"Don't be sorry," Suno said as she slowly shook her head. She then pulled back and lost herself in her wife's eyes before gently kissing her. "My Goku. You're back and that's all that matters."

The moment hung in the air with the two lost in each other before Goku spoke up again. "When I was in Otherworld, I sparred with Pikon and the others a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Everyone just thought that it was because I loved fighting but that wasn't it. Well, that wasn't only it. Whenever I wasn't fighting someone or exploring or just doing something, I'd always end up thinking about you and Gohan. I had to fight myself to stop from reaching out and sensing your ki. If I did, I knew that I'd use Instant Transmission to come back without even thinking. But, hey, I'm back and I don't plan on going anywhere."

Goku wiped away her wife's tears before leaning in for another kiss. It would be several hours before Suno got back to making dinner.
