Coming Up Next: The spies return to the surface just in time to tango with Charleston and Ringmaster's trump card, and this secret weapon is definitely ready to take a big ol' bite out of the spies. Can they beat back this massive mechanical megalodon before it can escape and wreak havoc in Beverly Hills, or is this where the dolphin man has the last laugh?

EDIT 10/24/24: Added in the preview for Vicious Velocity now that Mat and I have started it.

Act 3: Lost in the Waves

9:32 P.M. – Just Off the Coast of Beverly Hills

"Everything looks fine from here," Sam noted when everyone had resurfaced, noting that they were a few miles away from Beverly Hills on the Mali-U side.

"Do you think we beat them up here?" Haruka wondered.

Just then, Bridget noticed the water just ahead of them rippling ominously.

"Get ready, everyone, here they come!" Bridget exclaimed.

A few seconds later, something massive broke through the water surface to greet the spies.

"...what in the hell?!" May shouted.

"Should I even be surprised at this point?" Nick sighed.

The 'something' in question turned out to be a gigantic robot in the image of a megalodon shark, with all the features of such a shark, and both Charleston and Ringmaster sitting in a cockpit just above the machine's fin.

"Isn't it magnificent?" Ringmaster laughed. "Our magnificent Mechalodon will be the instrument of your doom!"

"Just remember, you can do whatever you want with them, but keep Alex alive," Charleston responded. "She will be my queen once the rest of them are shark bait."

Before Alex could go on the offensive, clearly incensed by that remark, Rei did the honors for her, blasting the Mechalodon with a cluster of exploding bubbles that knocked it off balance.

"What part of 'no' don't you understand, you little freak?" Rei proclaimed.

"I say we just dispense with the pleasantries and start tearing this thing apart," Michi taunted.

"Oh, now you're talking my language," Nick chuckled as the spies all prepared for battle. "Let's scrap this scuzzy shark!"

"My thoughts exactly," Nozomi quipped.

"And just because Nick has four girls that are crazy for him doesn't mean you can take one away for yourself..." Siren remarked.

"FOUR?!" Michi chastised. "Did I hear that correctly?"

"Mat is the next one in that category," Sam chimed in. "With me, Britney, and Melissa."

"One look at their spy team should be obvious enough," Rei told Michi. "They got thirteen people on there!"

"You guys owe me an explanation later..." Michi told Nick and Mat.

"One thing's for sure," Mat commented, looking at the Mechalodon. "This isn't no aumakua... that's for sure!"

"What the heck?" Rei wondered.

"That's Hawaiian for 'family god' or 'guardian,'" Mat corrected.

"Our mission in Hawaii," Alex giggled. "Where Mat's originally from."

Siren, Rei, and Michi hummed about that. They were obviously not familiar with Hawaii like how the spies were, especially Mat.

"At least I can try something..." Mat then replied.

"What're you thinking?" Clover wondered.

"We got a spear-like gadget, right?" Mat asked.

"The Pocket Sized Protracting Lip Spear..." Clover guessed.

Mat looked through his gadget bag and found it.

"Here goes nothing," Mat quipped.

Nick noticed Mat trying to execute his attack and gave a grin to give Mat the opportunity he needed.

"WATCH OUT!" Michi shouted as the Mechalodon came charging for them, forcing the group to scatter so they didn't get chomped.

The Mechalodon suddenly turned around far quicker than the spies were expecting it to, no doubt due to the rocket thrusters lining its sides, and rushed straight for Alex.

"Are we seriously pulling this crap again?!" Nick growled as he placed himself in front of Alex and projected a large psychic barrier to hold the Mechalodon back. "I think that's your chance, Mat! Give 'em the ol' heave-ho!"

Mat nodded as he hurled the Pocket Sized Protracting Lip Spear at the Mechalodon. Nick added some extra oomph to Mat's attack via his psychic powers.

"I'm guessing that's a move 'only in Hawaii', as Mat would say," Alex chuckled.

"Did I get the weak point?" Mat wondered.

Sam looked on to see if Mat hit the weak point indeed.

"You wretches!" Ringmaster growled from the cockpit.

"I'd say he did," Melissa chuckled. The Pocket Sized Protracting Lip Spear had lodged itself in one of the Mechalodon's eyes.

"Don't think we're done yet, though!" Charleston cackled as the Mechalodon once again charged, this time firing lasers every which way to keep on their toes.

The Mechalodon's remaining eye fired a much larger laser beam towards Mat, obviously intending to get him back for the stunt earlier. What actually happened was Michi opened a portal in front of Mat so the laser went into the portal instead of hitting him, then she opened another portal above the Mechalodon so the laser blasted the top of the machine instead.

"Did you forget I was here, you little clucks?" Michi giggled.

Before the Mechalodon could start charging again, Rei blasted it back with a cluster of exploding bubbles.

What happened next surprised everybody, as the Mechalodon actually flew out of the water and started flying around dropping what appeared to be small drones into the water.

"...oh, boy, those are robot piranhas," Sam gasped.

"Everybody out of the water!" Haruka shouted, and the spies all flew out of the water to avoid the robo-piranhas. Nick carried Siren and Nozomi carried Michi, since Siren and Michi were the only two of them who couldn't fly at the moment. Rei simply created a bubble shield around her so the robo-piranhas couldn't touch her.

"Pointless, my friends," Ringmaster laughed. "As you can see, our magnificent Mechalodon isn't limited to the water just because it's in the image of a shark."

The Mechalodon charged forward, its massive jaws clamping multiple times as it attempted to take a bite out of the spies.

Clover and Blaine took a chance and rushed down the Mechalodon, getting close enough before both slashing Platinum Credit Cards at it, slicing through a good chunk of the Mechalodon's teeth in the process.

Nick flew closer and fired a Final Shine Attack into the Mechalodon's vulnerable mouth to do some major damage, but the Mechalodon quickly spun around and bum-rushed him before he could react.

Suddenly, a large bubble covered Nick and Siren that the Mechalodon bounced off of.

"Thanks for the save, Rei!" Siren laughed. "Now let's give the 'Aqua Tail' a college try, shall we?"

"I'd be delighted," Rei chuckled as she began to wave her hands, controlling some of the ocean water around her to fly into the air and wrap around Siren's lobster tail.

"All right, Nick, toss me towards that thing and I'll show you something cool," Siren giggled.

Nick did so without hesitation, twirling Siren around a bit to build up some momentum before throwing her towards the Mechalodon.

When she was close enough, Siren whipped her tail out, the water shrouding it having enough force to carve a decently-sized hole in the Mechalodon's outer hull.

This shook the Mechalodon enough for Bridget to transform into Sonic Mode again, fly up into the air, and punch the underside of the Mechalodon with a Metal Masher Boxing Glove. This caused Charleston and Ringmaster to fall out of the cockpit and into the water, though they both activated rocket boots to keep them afloat.

"That was a mistake, you know," Bridget chuckled as Nick flew towards her and took her hand before flying forward. After a couple seconds, Bridget had gained enough momentum to start running atop the water's surface thanks to her Sonic Mode speed.

"And what do you have to show for it?" Charleston laughed.

"How about we just show you instead?" Nick quipped. "All right, Bridget, let's give these freak shows a little taste of the brand spankin' new Purple Comet Attack!"

Ringmaster attempted to use his whips to knock Bridget off course, but Siren dropped back down and whipped him in the back with her tail, allowing Bridget to get in close and use her momentum to uppercut Ringmaster into the air.

Nick followed by leapfrogging off of Bridget's shoulders and knocking Charleston back down with an overhead fist slam.

Before either villain could regain their bearings, Bridget sped by them, causing them both to spin around in place for a couple seconds.

Nick lunged forward to kick Charleston in the back and send him stumbling forward.

Nick and Bridget ran to either side of both villains and started attacking in perfect sync with each other, landing four direct punches each before snap-kicking the baddies into the air.

"Ready for the finale?!" Bridget shouted.

Just as Charleston and Ringmaster started falling back down, Nick and Bridget charged, striking both baddies rapid-fire from multiple angles and making it look like they was being pinballed through the air.

For the final blow, Nick and Bridget joined hands once again, then flew swiftly towards Charleston and Ringmaster, using their joined hands to clothesline both villains and send them crashing back into the water.

For good measure, Nick quickly trapped both villains inside of a psychic bubble.

"And that's it for you two," Nick quipped. "Now stay away from my fiancée, or else."

Having said everything he felt he needed to, Nick flicked his hand upwards to send the bubbled villains off to containment.

Meanwhile, the spies were rapidly firing their Laser Lipsticks to destroy the robo-piranhas so they could have a clear shot at destroying the Mechalodon.

"All right, I think that's all of them!" Melissa exclaimed. "What do you say, you guys wanna bust out the Vortex Blaster?"

"Actually, allow me," Rei stated as she rose out of the water, her body glowing a bright blue.

The spies watched intently as Rei conjured a ring of bubbles around her, then used her ice beam to freeze them into solid sphere-shaped chunks of ice that orbited her body.

Not wasting a second, Rei charged towards the immobile Mechalodon, the ice chunks tearing gashes in the machine rather handily. Rei then raised her hands to fire a barrage of water blades from her hands that flew up into the air, then came cascading down to slice through the Mechalodon, cutting it into chunks. And for the finale, Rei fired an ice beam and swept it across the water, completely freezing the Mechalodon's remains before firing a cascade of exploding bubbles to completely decimate what was left of the machine.

"Nice," Michi chuckled. "Way to overkill that thing."

"Sometimes, you've gotta overkill things," Rei quipped.

"Very true," Nick noted. "Now how about we get the heck out of here and check in with Jerry?"

"Sounds good to me," Alex admitted. "I just hope we don't see Charleston again for a long time."

10:56 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

Jerry's Office

"Wonderful performance as always, everyone," Jerry proclaimed once everyone was back in his office and had given him the rundown of everything that had happened.

"We've sent a team of agents to return all the captured animals back to Siren Island, and they're thankfully unharmed," RiCO stated as she and iCO materialized in the office.

"Mr. Bear is a little confused on why there was a bear that had wings, though," iCO giggled.

"Oh, do I have stories to tell him when Rei and I get back," Siren chuckled.

"And on that note, I can send you all back, considering how late it already is," RiCO quipped as she waved her hands to send the spies and Michi back to Mali-U, and Siren and Rei back to Siren Island.

The Spies' Penthouse

All of the spies had light dinners upon coming back home from the mission.

"Glad we got that Mechalodon taken care of," Bridget told the others.

"No doubt about it," May remarked.

"It's a bigger thing that we saved Siren and Rei, too," Sam pointed out.

Everybody nodded in agreement.

The next day, Mat checked out any news online if Team Kawasaki's Chad Reed would finally make his return to Supercross 2010 at Toronto; he was immediately discouraged at seeing no word yet.

"I guess only time will tell," Mat sighed, knowing he had to wait until the upcoming Saturday for the Toronto Supercross to air on TV.

"I think you multi-task on things like this just as much as Clover does," Sam commented.

She couldn't help but chuckle a bit since that was something Mat was very passionate about.

"Mat, didn't you say yourself that the title's over for Chad Reed?" May reminded.

"Yeah, but you know damn well what I want to see from Chad Reed..." Mat sighed. "But at the same time, I already know the Motocross season in the summer is the biggest priority."

"Well, we're all behind you, Mat, regardless," Melissa stated.

"Speaking of which," Michi replied. "You want to fill me in on the 'multiple girlfriends' schtick?"

"We'd be happy to," Mat answered. "I guess I fell for Sam when I transferred to Beverly High, and I suppose we just really hit it off."

"Plus, Mat's really the first guy who loves me for me in that sense," Sam giggled. "I was extra touched at finding out that I'm Mat's first girlfriend, and now we're engaged."

"My situation was after one of our rogues' gallery disguised himself to break my heart," Britney exclaimed.

"Me... I just fell for him by chance," Melissa admitted. "After he interviewed me for one of his stories for Mali-U's TV news program."

"I can see that happening," Michi chuckled. "And, honestly? Screw that guy who went after you just to break your heart. I mean, who does that?!"

"Snit, apparently," Clover quipped.

"I honestly didn't mind sharing," Sam replied.

Haruka looked around to see Nick and Alex weren't there.

Nick and Alex were sitting near the penthouse pool thinking.

"You thought Charleston was going to get you, Alex?" Nick wondered.

"Maybe once or twice..." Alex admitted. "I guess maybe Michi's appearance is occupying my thought process..."

"I'm just glad she's a friend and not a foe, to be frank," Nick commented.

Alex nodded in agreement.

"How do these unknown people find us so... randomly?" Alex wondered.

"Your guess is as good as mine," Nick sighed. "I'm really just used to it happening by now."

Alex decided to drop the matter and stand up. Nick looked over to see a flash from Alex's X-Powder, and Alex herself jump into the pool.

Nick couldn't help but smile at the fact that Alex had decided to go with her classic yellow two-piece that she hadn't worn in a while.

Michi opted to jump into the pool herself after allowing Nick to use his X-Powder and let her change into a purple two-piece with light violet stripes.

"Okay, so, I know Mat's side of things in the girlfriends department," Michi stated, turning to Nick. "How about you, buddy?"

"I guess that's only fair, huh?" Nick chuckled. "Anyways, I met Alex a little while after Haruka and I moved to Beverly Hills and joined their team, and I guess we really just clicked."

"As for me, I've known Nick for a while, but our situation only really turned romantic when I lost my first crush during a mission," May explained. "Nick helped me through it, and that's when I fell in love with him."

"I was actually Nick's first girlfriend, a couple years before he moved to Beverly Hills," Nozomi responded. "After everything with May, I kinda dared to hope that maybe I could 'reconnect', so to speak, and I'm just glad it worked out."

"I've known Nick the longest out of all of us, but it was only recently that my feelings turned romantic," Haruka stated. "I wasn't sure of my chances here, given that dumb anime cliché, but I guess my fears really were unfounded."

"You all have a very interesting dynamic, don't ya?" Michi chuckled. "But I guess I'm just glad I found someone I know I can trust."

"That's just what we do, Michi," Sam quipped. "We help people."

"Hey, has anybody seen May?" Melissa wondered. "She was just in the pool a moment ago."

"...oh, no," Nick groaned, easily able to hear the rapidly-approaching footsteps.

Predictably, May had taken that opportunity to sneak out of the pool room, then run right back in.

"PIRATE DIVE!" May shouted as she did a cannonball into the pool.

What actually happened was that Michi raised her hands to open two portals, one over the pool where May was diving and another one slightly higher up. This caused May to fall into the first portal and come out the other one doing a belly flop into the pool instead of a cannonball.

"Nice try, you goof," Michi chuckled, to which everybody started laughing.

"...I guess my luck was bound to run out sooner or later, huh?" May sighed.

11:31 A.M. – Location Unknown

"Ooh, she's got their trail again!" Gigi laughed as Raora began to search around the area, using her glowing eyes to follow any trail she could pick up from the Collective.

"Maybe be a little quieter, Gigi, so she can focus?" Cecilia sighed. "You always get like this when we're chasing the Collective."

"Hey, it's fun to knock them around," Gigi quipped.

"And honestly, I don't mind the noise," Raora admitted. "It's fun talking with all of you."

Elizabeth couldn't help but smile at that. The four of them, the Arbiters of Justice, had all come from very different backgrounds, but had been united by their common goal of pursuing and wiping out evil forces that most people probably wouldn't stand a chance against.

At this point, they were all practically thick as thieves, even if their contrasting personalities tended to clash with each other at times. Elizabeth herself was mostly serious and focused on their mission, though she had learned to loosen up with her friends in the Arbiters.

Gigi was rambunctious and hyper, always eager to get into a good scrap, though she knew to tone it down when they didn't have a target to catch.

Cecilia was lazy at times and very brutally honest about what she thought. But despite her lackadaisical attitude, Cecilia always fought her hardest when push came to shove, and put one hundred percent into anything she would set her mind to.

Raora was very relaxed and liked to draw a lot when not on the chase, but when it came time for a mission, she was laser-focused and determined to see it through, and she learned new things very quickly.

All in all, the Arbiters of Justice were a very quirky bunch. And Elizabeth wouldn't have it any other way.

"I think I found something!" Raora proclaimed, her eyes flashing blue before returning to their normal yellow shade. "I just picked up Collective activity somewhere close by."

"They're definitely getting sloppy," Gigi quipped.

"It looks like they're... somewhere in the state of California," Raora stated.

"That's not too far away from here, is it?" Cecilia gasped.

"All right-y, then, Arbiters," Elizabeth proclaimed, twirling Thorn in a stylish way and pointing it towards where Raora had seen. "How about we go and dish out some justice?"

Totally Spies: Marina Madness
~The End~

Final Note from Mat49324: And Marina Madness has just been completed. Hope the title may have sounded familiar if you've played Knuckles Chaotix for the 32X back in the mid-90s (yes, I finally realized where Nick went with the title). We hope you enjoyed this one, and that you'll stay tuned for our next project. I'll be authoring the next one, and this is the second synopsis that was relayed to me by Doc Fossil on Fanfiction. Be on the lookout for Vicious Velocity coming soon. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts on Marina Madness.

Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And we're all done with this one, folks! We got to see Rei again, Michi shows off her stuff, and all's well that ends well for the moment. Fun fact, see if you can figure out the pattern I'm going with for the episode titles this season. And yes, the title of this one was another Knuckles Chaotix reference, since I know Mat likes that game.

Anyways, now it's time to talk about the next episode of Totally Spies: The New Adventures! We're doing something a little different this time, as we're dealing with a motor bike heist gang wrecking stuff up, and they're lead by an original villain! ...one that wasn't thought up by me! Yeah, Mat thought of this villain, since I figure I've brought in more than enough OG villains to the point that he deserved a turn for once. You'll see who that villain could be next time on Vicious Velocity, which will be posted by Mat. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of Vicious Velocity, and we'll see you next mission!

Before Sam could do the up-and-over, though, they heard the really loud sound of what felt like a bunch of motorcycles riding through.

"Really?" Sam groaned. "A bunch of idiots are gonna do this right now?"

"But why so close to Mali-U, though?" Alex wondered. "If they were in the city, we probably wouldn't even hear them, right?"

"Eh, probably just some idiots trying to act cooler than they actually are," Nozomi quipped.

However, after doing a psychic radar scan to check things out, Nick wasn't so sure.

"I don't know, Nozomi," Nick responded. "I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but I'm getting bad vibes from these biker peeps."

"You think it might be someone from our rogues' gallery?" Blaine asked.

"Not unless they suddenly started propagating an interest in motorcycles or something," Mat quipped.

"...uh-oh," Melissa gasped.

"What's wrong, sis?" Nick wondered.

"Take a look at this," Melissa responded as she showed the other nine spies her phone, which was displaying an article titled Echo Gang Bikers Strike Again. "There's this group of bikers calling themselves the Echo Gang. They're a heist gang who drive custom-made motorbikes, and they've been attacking places all over the country in the past couple years."

"I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard of them, given how much traveling we do with W.O.O.H.P.," Clover admitted.

"According to this article, they've struck New York, Houston, New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Miami and even Las Vegas," Melissa explained.

"And if that was the Echo Gang, then it looks like they're gonna try attacking Beverly Hills next," Britney gasped when she made the connection.

"That settles it, then," Sam proclaimed, shifting into 'leader mode'. "Let's head into the city and head them off before they can try anything scummy."

To be continued in Totally Spies: Vicious Velocity...
