Figgy stared at the coffee maker brewing when someone knocked on the door. She wasn't expecting anyone. Roman was gone when she came out of the shower and that was for the best. He already knew too much. She decided to ignore the knocking. Whoever it was would go away soon again.
"Figgy?" Roman called through the door. "I know you're there. You know I'm a stubborn donkey that won't go away so better open the door, baby girl."
She sighed and walked over to open the door. He pulled her into his arms for a hug and backed her into the apartment. He broke the hug and closed the door.
"I almost went there," he said.
"Where?" She asked.
"Dean gave me his dealer's address," he said.
She sighed and shook her head from side to side.
"I decided to come here before I go there. I'm not sure how bad I'll hurt him once I get my hands on him," he said.
"Roman, stop it!" She said firmly. "You can't go around hurting people. You got a life and a career. It doesn't matter that you're a famous WWE superstar. You'll go to prison."
"I don't care," he said.
"But I care!" She yelled.
She breathed fast a couple of times and then got tears in her eyes.
"I care, you stubborn donkey. I care about you. I need you to stay with me," she said.
"Figgy," he said.
"I won't visit you in prison," she said. "If you go there, you're on your own. You'll never see me again."
She crossed her arms and stared him down. He couldn't help but smile at how cute she was. He gently grabbed her face and leaned down to kiss her. The kiss only lasted five seconds, and then he slowly pulled back.
"What was that for?" She asked.
"Once this is all behind you and you're ready to start dating again, I hope you'll consider me as an option," he said.
"I already did that a long time ago. Now everything is fucked up," she said.
"Everything will be okay. I promise," he said. "Stay here. I'll be back soon."
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"To fix things," he answered.
"You better not fucking kill anyone," she said.
He chuckled at her and left her apartment again. He drove back to Dean's place and walked straight back in. He found Dean in the bedroom lying on his side in bed. He was far gone in his heroin rush which made it easier for Roman. Roman knew all of Dean's secret hiding places. He went through them all and found all the drugs he could. He walked back to the bedroom and placed everything on the nightstand.
"Goodbye, Dean," he said. "I hope you get better one day."
He walked out in the living room and found Dean's phone on the coffee table. He had an important phone call to make before driving back to Figgy's place and he didn't want to risk doing it from his own phone. He didn't want to be connected with this. It hurt his heart to do this to Dean but it needed to be done. Dean wasn't going to stop his destructive behavior otherwise.
Figgy saw Roman's car drive up. She walked out to open the door before he made it inside the building. She heard him take two steps at the time, and then he finally appeared in front of her. He didn't look as happy as she had thought he would.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"You shouldn't worry about me right now," he said.
He stepped inside her apartment and closed the door.
"I called the cops," he said.
"Why?" She asked.
"To report Dean and his dealer. I drove by the dealer's house and you don't get a house like that from being a small fish. He's one of the people ranking high," he said.
"I know. I've been there," she said.
"The cops are gonna raid his place," he said. "And Dean's."
"Dean?" She asked.
"I found all his stash and left it for them to find easy. He refuses help so this will be his wake-up call. He won't serve long but he will serve time, and he'll either get clean in prison or die from an overdose. His choice."
He stopped talking and stared at her for several seconds. He had expected her to say something but she just stared back at him. He knew it would be hard to hear that her brother was about to go away because of what Roman had done.
"Are you mad at me?" He asked.
She rushed into his arms and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight.
"He'll get out again. The dealer, I mean. People like that always get out again and continue where they left off," she said.
"Eventually," he said. "But you'll be long gone once that happens."
"You don't know that," she said.
"Yes, I do because I'm taking you with me to Florida," he said.
She blinked at him and he smiled at her.
"You'll get your own bedroom in my house and I'll find the best damn therapist for you to work through what you just went through. I'll even cook for you on all my days off. All I want is for you to come with me. I won't expect anything in return. Even if you never want to date me, I still want to help you move on. I will always be there for you no matter what," he said.
Her eyes filled with tears that quickly spilled down her cheeks.
"Are those happy or sad tears?" He asked.
"Both. I've gone through a lot lately," she said.
"I know," he said.
"But I want to come," she said. "I wanna come with you, Roman. And once I'm ready, you better take me on the sailing tour to Shell Island so we can try snorkeling together. That would be the ultimate first date, wouldn't it? There won't be a lot of people on the boat with us. And those that are will be more busy with the marine life than some famous wrestler being on board."
He smiled widely and pulled her into his arms.
"That sounds like the perfect first date," he said.
"Okay," she nodded. "Help me pack my things."
"Do you wanna wait until the cops bust Dean to visit him before leaving?" He asked.
"Nope!" She answered. "He's on his own from now on. I already saved him three times. I got nothing left to give."
She pulled him down for a soft kiss.
"All I got now is for you. Once I'm ready, that is," she said. "I wanna start over with you."
