Gently taking the mechanical heart and pen from the safe in the wall I returned to the motionless Scaramouche on the black lab table which I place his heart into the opened compartment that is exposed in his chest, the clamps give a small hiss when locking into place and the gears whine into motion after the pen looking key is placed into it's rightful socket in the mechanical heart. Seeing all the parts are working like they should and I don't hear any weird sounds I gently shut the compartment door which blends in like it was never there in the first place which the noises I was hearing from the working mechanical parts are cancelled once the compartment door is completely shut, so unless told no one can tell Scaramouche isn't human.
Scaramouche wakes up unlike I ever expected as his eyes shot open in panic with a loud gasp and his back arches off of the black lab table with his arms flying wherever, reminding me when Lulu wake up in the Fifth Element movie inside the reconstruction pod.
'I guess it's a massive shock to the system waking up again after so long of being silent'.
"Shhh, it's ok" Doing the only I can thought of I gently take him into my arms and off the table to lay him on my lap as I sit us on the floor, using the sheet to hid his modest when finally noticing he's completely naked underneath it.
"Hey, it's alright, you're awake" I gently hold his arms down from smacking me in the face as I gently smack his cheek to get him aware to where he is, panting he blinks which I see the haze fading from his mind and become confused when seeing my face.
"W-what are you doing!? W-what happened?!" He demand after his eyes widen before gazing around and jumping off my lap when noticing a sheet is the only thing covering him, blinking away what haze is left.
"Hey! Focus on me! my name is (Y/N) and tell me the last thing you remember?" I stand up showing him my hands and that I mean no harm to him but he turn his nose up at me in disguise, now acting like his game counterpart.
"I demand to know what has happened and why you had your slimy hands on me this instant." He hissed at me as he wrap the sheet around his body better and he's cheeks turn a little red as he does so.
"Where's Citor? Where's my creater?" He demand again as he glanced around the lab to notice everything is covered in a thick layer of dust and frowning when seeing the sad expression I'm giving him when he mentioned Citor, so instead of explaining it to him I walk through the bookcase and take the letter off of the desk before handing it to him.
"Something happened which I haven't figured out yet but the city didn't last long... it's gone." I watch as he read the last letter his creator has left for him as his face reminds unreadable the whole time which he slowly slid down onto the floor, finally showing sadness and anger as he gently presses the letter against his chest. I creep next to him and slowly bring him into a hug knowing he needs the comfort but don't know if he'll take it, surprisingly he immediately clang into me as he begin to cry angrily.
"I will..." He started to hiss but I immediately interrupted his sentence knowing what he was about to say.
"You will not do such a thing! Although I don't know him but what I got from the letter is that he loves you like a son and he won't want you to do something so dishonorable of his memory! He would want you to live your life the way you want to!" I immediately take a hold of his face gently with both of my hands making him look at me so he can see I'm serious and causing his eyes to widen at my actions, he falls silent thinking over my words carefully as I allow his face to fall from my hands.
"You think so?" He asked in a whispered without looking at me afraid to allow himself to be vulnerable to a complete stranger, to me.
"Yes, I do." I whispered back as I hold him close to comfort him again.
"He's gone, what am I supposed to do now?" He mumbled as he pulls himself away from my hold and tighten his on the sheet around him, with a sigh I removed my pack from my back and take out my spare travelers clothes before handing them to him.
"Here, these are the only clothes I have on me for you to wear although they might be a bit big in you." Scaramouche slowly takes the clothes from my hands and stand ups, giving me his famous glare which I immediately stand up myself and stroll out of the laboratory so he can have his privacy to change into the clothes, I busy myself by looking at the readable books on the shelves in the study.
"I'm done" I hear Scaramouche call out to me after a few moments of hearing clothes moving, strolling in to see he had rolled up both the sleeves and pants to get the clothes to fit him but he had to hold onto the pants as they are slipping off of him. With nothing else I rip a strip out of the white sheet and thread it through the loops before tying it off, using it as a makeshift belt.
"You thought about what you're going to do now?" I asked after he gives me a thankful look for the makeshift belt.
"Not yet" Right then and there my stomach growls for food which I give him a embarrassed and awkward smile.
"Stay here" Scaramouche demanded with a frustrated sigh before stomping out of the basement leaving me dumb found at sudden his actions so I just make camp in the basement, I sent the tent up in a corner causing the familiar golden screen to appear.
