The Keyblade Knight chapter 2
Aqua didn't know how long she was in the realm of darkness all she knew is she was becoming exceedingly lonely, this place plays tricks with her mind, from seeing astral forms of her friends Terra and Ven to fighting a dark copy of herself her mind was beginning to break she didn't know how much longer she could hold out by herself.
Looking ahead she spots ruins of a castle her heart drops knowing this was a world consumed by darkness she wondered how many poor souls lost their hearts to the beings of shadow. Aqua comes to a broken bridge she summons her keyblade points it in front of her and closes her eyes "Blizzaga!" as she opens her eyes the bridge has been somewhat repaired with a path of ice.
sighing she dismisses her keyblade and crosses the bridge looking down into the black abyss beneath her briefly before crossing as she looks around she sees countless destroyed homes, debris litter the ground beneath her feet and the air above her this makes hear heart break more and despair begins to root itself in her heart "is this all there is in this wasteland?" she nearly falls to her knees wanting to give up she is exhausted fighting countless heartless she has very little magic power left and he keyblade has multiple cracks in several places she sits down and begins to close her eyes.
'im so tired maybe if just rest a bit' 'CLANG!" her eyes shoot open and heat rushes into her body "was that?" she jumps to her feet and begins to run as fast as she can hearing more of the distinctive sound of clashing metal "AHHHHH" she finally hears was that... someones voice!? she picks up her pace running up a large hill tripping once or twice as she scales the top of it as she reaches the peak and looks down into the dark valley below where an army of heartless are swarming a figure clad in armor the armor was a light navy green with gold trim on the figures waist was a sash reaching down to his knees in his left was a...Keyblade!? in his left has a large tower shield both the same color scheme of his armor the figure was cutting through swathes of heartless but looking closer she could see he was breathing heavy clearly exhausted another heartless jumped up behind him ready to strike his back.
"Look out!" Aqua managed to warn him just in time as he block its blow with his shield before counting with a sweep of his blade destroying the creature he briefly glanced at her before returning to his battle Aqua not wasting another moment ran down the hill to his aid casting Spells as she went jumping on a couple of the heads the heartless to reach the figure finally pushing her legs as hard as she could to perform a backflips landing back to back with the stranger "I don't know who you are or why you are here but lets work together to defeat these heartless"
the figure without turning answered her "yea I don't know who you are but thanks for the help I am almost at my limit here you watch my back and I will watch yours" she give him a nod before rushing back into the fray. "thundaga" she roars slaying several heartless in a ring around her having a second to breath she turns to the stranger to see him slamming his sword into the ground making the ground erupt with stone shards destroying multiple heartless in a cone in front of him, Aqua knowing they cant hold out against this many heartless calls to the stranger "we cant stay here we are going to get overwhelmed"
"if you have any ideas I am all ears" the stranger answers back as he slices a knight heartless down the middle, aqua blocks a strike from a heartless before blasting it with a firaga she remember the ruins they could hold out there for now "I passed through some ruins on my way over here follow me hurry!" the figure nods "ill clear a path get behind me" he dismisses his keyblade and places a second hand on the inside of his tower shield before charging into a group of heartless knocking them back more and more collapse onto him slowing his progress.
"I don't think so!" he growls digging his feet into the ground before throwing them back but not before a claw stabs into the side of his chestplate make blood pour out from the wound "ARRRGGH" he breathes out Aqua noticing this kills the heartless "can you still run?" the stranger grabs his wound before nodding "ya I can try" Aqua is now concerned that is a pretty deep cut but she knows she can heal him with Curaga when they get to safety.
Aqua grabs his arm and pulls it over her shoulder before running with him away from the heartless, Summoning blizzaga to make an ice ramp they slide down the hill she feels something wet on her side looking down she sees blood oozing from the strangers wound 'he is losing too much blood I have to hurry' a minute or two later they manage to make it back to the ruins she finds a run down house and gently sits him down his breath is heavily labored.
"quickly deactivate your armor so I can heal you" he nods before the armor disappears into particles of light she finally gets a good look at the stranger he had short black hair his face was covered in sweet and contorted in pain 'he looks like he is about my age maybe a little younger than Terra she gives him a soft smile "ok let me see your wound" he nods before removing his hand that was now covered in blood she places her hand on his wound gently she closes her eyes focusing on her spell "Curaga" a green light comes from her hand the boy tenses in groans in pain as the flesh stitches itself together before his eyes sweat pouring down his face "tha-Thank you-" Aqua smiles giving him her name "Aqua my name is Aqua" he gives her a tried smile "Thank you Aqua name is Traye" she manages to finish before closing his eyes head falling onto her lap.
