The Sacred Beasts had been taken care of and sealed away and Duel Academy was back to normal.
A way back to Ash's world had been discovered.
"What are we doing back here?" Alexis asked.
"Beats me." Ash didn't have a answer for that question.
They were here for a vacation to the Alola Region since they didn't have to worry about classes.
The entire group, minus Zane who had graduated from Duel Academy, was there.
"Been a while since I saw Lillie and the others." Ash commented.
Chazz made his way over to Misty to flirt with her.
"Hey there." He smirked.
Misty walked away, causing his attempt to flirt fail miserably.
"Tough luck." Jaden told him.
Chazz would get over it eventually.
Elsewhere
Brock and Mindy had been looking at a pamphlet on the Alola Region.
"What do you think of Alola?" Brock asked.
"From the pictures I've seen, it's really nice."
Alola was their next destination.
"It resembles Hawaii." Mindy noted that it looked just like Hawaii.
"Alola is actually comprised of four different islands just like Hawaii." Brock explained.
He and Misty once accompanied Ash around Alola.
Jaden and the others joined them.
"Whoa." He was left speechless.
"I'm looking forward to going there." Alexis stated.
"Me too." Jasmine added.
The prospect really excited her.
Syrus was also excited.
So was Bastion.
He was standing next to Jasmine.
The gang from Duel Academy was looking forward to going there for a vacation.
Everyone then headed to the airport and sat down, waiting for a plane to take them to Alola.
When it landed, they boarded the plane and waited for it to take off.
"Alola, here we come." Ash said.
The plane then soared through the air.
Several hours later
The plane finally descended towards Hau'oli City on Melemele Island.
"Here we are."
A set of stairs folded down and the passengers stepped off the plane.
"This is the Hau'oli City airport."
"Follow me." Ash led them to IIima's house.
IIima was one of the trial captains here on Melemele Island.
He lived in a mansion on the north side of the city.
They all stood in front of the mansion's entry doors.
Ash knocked on them.
IIima then came into view after opening the doors.
"Hello Ash, it's been a while since we last saw each other." IIima smiled.
"It sure has been." Ash agreed with him.
He and IIima then walked down memory lane.
"Have you heard from Lillie and the others?" Ash asked.
"Oh yeah, these are my friends." He introduced the Duel Academy students.
"Nice to meet you." Ilima smiled at the Duel Academy students.
Alexis, Bastion, Chazz, Jaden, Jasmine, Mindy and Syrus were impressed with how polite he was.
"Want me to show you around?" IIima offered.
The group accepted right away.
He led them across the city to check out what it has to offer.
Along the way, they found out Hau'oli was the largest city in Alola.
"This is unbelievable." Alexis whispered.
"I'm going to show you where the Pokemon School is." Ilima announced.
When they arrived, Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow and Sophocles were at their desks.
Sophocles then looked up.
"No way."
Kiawe and the others also looked up to see Ash standing there.
"What are you doing here?" They asked in shock.
None of them had expected Ash to return to Alola following becoming the champion.
"Meet my former classmates Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow and Sophocles."
"These are my current classmates." He gestured to the gang from Duel Academy.
Both groups shook each other's hand.
"How's it going?" Kiawe asked.
He was making small talk with Bastion.
"Nothing much." Bastion replied.
Lana, Lillie and Mallow were talking to Alexis somewhere else.
Lana was the first to speak.
"How is Alola so far?" She asked Alexis.
"Pretty cool." She responded.
It was just as big and lively as Domino City.
"Oops."
Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow and Sophocles then released their Pokemon.
"You weren't supposed to know that."
Alexis had chewed him out for saying that a couple times last year.
A shiny Torchic then walked in front of them.
"Where did you come from?"
It then dawned on Jaden.
"Wait, you're that shiny Torchic from last time."
The shiny Torchic was then picked up by Jaden.
"How did you end up here?" He questioned.
Flashback
The shiny Torchic had wandered off from a farm in Paniola Town.
"Doesn't really make sense."
"Why come all this way to Hau'oli City?" He asked.
Torchic chirped as a response.
"You wanna follow me."
Torchic nodded yes.
"Let's do it."
Jaden then met back up with the others.
"I'd like you five to meet this shiny Torchic."
Lana, Lillie and Mallow had sparkles in their eyes.
"It's so cute!" They shouted in unison.
"Can I hold you?" Lillie asked.
Torchic remained calm as she picked him up.
Lillie then stroked his feathers.
"Your feathers are really soft."
Torchic chirped happily.
Lana and Mallow also got a chance to stroke his feathers.
They liked the feeling.
"You sure like him, huh?"
He then recognized the Torchic.
"Wait, aren't you?"
He had run into this Torchic before.
Torchic stared back.
"This is the same Torchic we ran into in Kanto that was caught by the poachers."
"You're right."
The rest of the Duel Academy group was surprised to see him in Alola.
Lana held him in her arms as they left.
Jaden followed close behind.
They strolled around Hau'oli City.
"I feel like shopping." Alexis spoke.
Truth be told, she wanted some new clothes.
"I know just the place." Mallow led her to a clothing store.
Misty wanted to go shopping with them too.
The guys on the other hand went to a restaurant.
"What sounds good?"
They were brainstorming what to get.
"How about pizza."
They all agreed that was what they would get while they were there.
A waitress came up to their table.
"What can I get for you?" She asked.
"We'd like a pepperoni and sausage pizza." They said in unison.
Their order was placed and then their waitress went to other tables because there were other customers.
They waited for a while and then their food eventually came.
"This looks good." Jaden was drooling.
Ash was drooling as well.
"Please stop drooling." Bastion told them.
Back with the girls
They were continuing their shopping spree.
"I'd say we've gotten more than enough clothes at this point." Alexis told the other girls.
Lana and the others thought they should reunite with the rest of the group.
They exited the store and went on their way to the restaurant.
When they arrived, the boys had already gotten the check and paid for the food.
"I see you guys are done with your meal." Misty noted.
"What about you guys?" Ash questioned back.
They held up the bags containing the clothes they purchased earlier.
"That's a lot of stuff." Jaden remarked at the amount of clothes they bought.
He then snapped out of his shock.
They then proceeded to continue walking through the city.
"Where did you go?" His former classmates asked.
"It's a long story." Was all Ash said.
Time skip
His former classmates were brought up to speed.
"So that's what happened." Kiawe noted.
"Something along those lines."
Lana, Lillie, Mallow and Sophocles nodded in understanding.
They didn't need to hear the whole story.
"Arceus sent you to another dimension?" She questioned.
"That's unbelievable." Mallow wasn't sure it was true.
Lillie, on the other hand, was.
"Plenty of strange things happened to us." She reminded her.
They had visited Ultra Space before.
"Fair." Sophocles conceded the point.
They decided not to press the issue any further.
"What should we do now?" Lillie asked her friends.
That was something the group had to decide together.
"How about checking out the ferry terminal." Ash suggested.
"The ferry terminal?" Misty asked.
This wasn't a idea that she expected.
"Let's do it." Brock was on board.
The others agreed with his idea as well.
Their next destination was the ferry terminal to the south.
One of the sailors allowed them to check a ferry out.
"That was awesome." Sophocles had sparkles in his eyes after they walked off the ferry.
"Someone's excited." Kiawe chuckled at his reaction.
The girls felt hungry.
"Where's a good place to get some food?" Alexis asked.
"How about the Malasada shop." Lillie offered.
The shop was on the way to the marina they visited earlier.
"What are Malasadas anyway?"
"It's a variety of doughnut that's coated in sugar and cinnamon." Lillie explained what a Malasada was.
"I'm looking forward to trying one." Mindy stated happily.
Minds made up, the girls strolled to the malasada shop.
"Ah." Jasmine sighed happily after taking a bite out of the malasada.
"These are good." Alexis enjoyed the taste as well.
"Glad you like them." Lillie smiled at them.
She always thought malasadas were really good every time she had one.
The five felt satisfied after eating the malasadas and rejoined their companions.
All the food made the group exhausted and they wanted to find a place to sleep.
"Want to check into the Tide Song Hotel on Akala Island?" Lana asked.
"Yeah!" The others cheered.
Preparations were underway for them to check into the Tide Song hotel.
