April 3

5221 A.D.
Planet: Earth

Occupied by the United Galactic Nations.

The sky was always clear and sunny. Never did it rain, never did it snow, it remained a pale blue color with a pinch of red upon the horizons.

This was the weather pattern residents expected for the past 800 years as even the clouds were stripped away out of necessity over humanity's long and tiring history. A never ending hunger beckoned as mankind grasped the edges of the Milky Way Galaxy.

By all means Earth would be inhospitable if it weren't for the advanced technology and many climate control systems built throughout what's now referred to as the "Ecogrid". A series of strategically placed Airscubbers, Oxygen Generators, and Atmospheric Stabilizers ensured the planet was still capable of being traversed without the need for external life support systems.

High in space orbiting Earth was an entirely separate series of "Solar Shade Arrays" that ran off of an advanced computer algorithm. These small moon sized panels acted as a shade for the lands while also redirecting sunlight. This ensured the planet's temperature never rose above that of 22 Celsius regardless of geographical location.

These systems were a luxury that most Core planets didn't get to experience, but such was the privilege of housing the birth of humanity.

7:00 AM

Raymond National Park,

In the center of one of the most densely populated cities lay a small monument right in the middle of a 2 km by 2 km man made forest.

Sitting next to his wife, a young man took a deep breath, taking in his surroundings. This was one of the few remaining "parks" on Earth as overpopulation stretched everything the planet could offer.

Trees were seen as nothing more than mere decorations now as the lands no longer housed any natural forest. Nor did trees grow without being explicitly planted by and maintained by someone.

At the base of the monument was a simple stone circle walkway that extended many meters with benches lined at the edges. Four stone paths jetted off in their respective cardinal directions which would continue straight back into the heart of the megatropolis.

The dead space between the paths laid grass fields with the occasional tree sprinkled in, each being planted in a perfect pattern and distance from each other.

The monument was a rather small and humble metal recreation. It depicted a one armed soldier carrying another soldier on his back. One of many heroes whose name is long forgotten to all those but the ones who attend the park, and read the small plaque.

Few places in public were not crowded. On any given day the number of attendants coming to the small park would always reach the tens of thousands.

A number that had to be specifically limited in order to avoid public accidents with today being no different.

Closing his eyes, the husband laid back and threw his hands over his head. It was rather tranquil compared to the bustling inner cities, but this moment of bliss was broken as his wife asked a question.

"Honey… Do you see that?" she pointed in front of the monument.

Out of nowhere, a structure began to spontaneously materialize.

An ancient looking temple that appeared out of thin air. Made completely out of stone, the temple somehow emitted a ghastly and ominous mist.

The couple watched in puzzlement as a crowd appeared, surrounding this otherworldly looking structure.

Confusion sparked throughout the crowd as some questions could be heard faintly in the wind.

"Was this some experiment with teleportation that didn't involve the notorious singularity generator..?"

"Why does the interior go deeper than it physically should be allowed too?"

"Isn't this temple rather ancient looking…like something out of Earth's original archeology sites?"

Before the husband put much more thought into it himself, a pair of gigantic humanoid beasts came charging out of the structure wielding a mallet and wooden club.

He watched some in the crowd instinctively start to sprint away. Others stood and watched. Stunned, not exactly sure what they were witnessing.

In no time the pair of creatures reached the crowd. Raising their crude weapons high in the air, they swung with their brutish strength.

The sound of crunching and popping bones was all too loud for him. Everyone ran in pure panic as blood splattered and began to pool across the white paved stone.

The pair watched in horror on the opposite side of the monument as more, slightly smaller, but still large grotesque beasts swarmed out of the structure.

These green skinned creatures began mercilessly decapitating people and all other stores of vicious acts. Their rustic weapons, stained in blood.

Seemingly to relish in the slaughter their cheers grew louder. Some simply began to toy with people, grabbing hold of them before snapping their spines in their monstrous hands.

He quickly grabbed his wife's hand, running as fast and far away as he could take the two.

Anywhere but here!

His partner was in complete shock at the situation. She was practically being dragged away and her feet only carried her on a primal level to not fall.

As they ran the husband glanced behind him. His face grew pale as he saw mounted flying beasts, something straight out of a fictional story about castles and dragons…just murdering people.

Lancing and chasing those down who ran away. Some of the small dragons torched groups with their breath…burning them alive. Picking people up with their talons, to just drop them high up.

The blood curdling screams being echoed throughout the park were nightmarish.

While he was distracted a random panicked person ran straight into the pair, knocking the two on the ground. The husband rushed towards his wife helping her back up onto her feet, ignoring the warm, liquid feeling that was running down his head.

Hearing what sounded like the thuds of marching formations, the two turned back towards the massacre. The two were still in awe, refusing to believe this was actually happening.

Organized and professional looking soldiers began pouring out of the structure in a parade fashion. By the thousands these soldiers marched out in what appeared to be ancient looking Roman armor?!

This surely had to be some sick twisted dream. This was beyond the potential of reality, he muttered to himself.

He watched as the legionnaires quickly formed into long neat lines. Colorful standard bearers peaked high above the soldiers helmets as trumpeters sounded off.

Spears and shields in hand, pointed straight, they charged into the panicked crowd.

He grabbed his partner and continued their desperate run towards the city.

7:04 AM

In a large dark metallic room the only light that could be seen was a red flashing emergency siren. The red glow shined off the metallic composition of the many modestly sized Emergency Response Drones. Loud creaking and popping hydraulics can be heard as the 20 ton metal pod bay doors slowly begin to open.

An AI female speaks through the overcomes, "Emergency! Emergency! Unknown hostile forces detected!"

Mechanical clicking noises are made as multiple moving conveyor belts turn on simultaneously under the suspending ER Drones. Some feed and split into other belts in seemingly random directions making a rather complex puzzle.

Each drone was assisted by two large robotic hydraulic arms connected to the floor. Both arms were equipped with an omni-tool head in order to perform various functions as needed.

"Weapon selection. Lethal force authorized. Selecting LR-52 "Heat Beam" conversion platform."

Suddenly the complex compilation of conveyors started producing multiple weapon platforms. These were swiftly delivered under each individual drone as they came to a halt.

The conversion platform was nothing more than the LR-52 without a stock. A weapon consisting of a long silver metal barrel surrounded by five skinny metal support pylons that acted as a heat resistant skeletal frame.

Robotic arms consisting of a tungsten alloy connected the end of the laser rifle to a diamond shaped metal plate that was customly fitted for the undercarriage of these drones.

On the top side of these plates rests a small complex socket full of circuits and wiring that made up the integrated AI injection site. A main staple for the current era.

This was plugged into the bottom of the sleek ER Drones, giving the onboard AI control of the weapon as the plating was bolted and welded to the frame.

"Mission objective, eliminate all hostile forces. Powering Emergency Response Drones micro fusion reactors."

In unison the engines of the drones thundered to life. Each was equipped with a rectangular shaped heat propulsion vent on its flanks, capable of rotating on a magnetic ball axile for many different maneuvers.

The micro fusion reactor had a unique cooling system that involved sucking in the commonly available nitrogen from the atmosphere at incredible pressure values. This combined with a chemical, managed to get the air into an extremely cold, condensation like state.

This air was then pumped around the micro fusion reactor to keep it from melting down, only to be slowly fed into the heat vents as the nitrogen got too hot. This hot gas shooting through the vents acts as propulsion while the onboard AI calculates and regulates the air flow.

In the event of an emergency, these drones even featured a reactor purge protocol which floods the fusion reactor with a quick dry liquid lead formula.

Not a perfect solution, but good enough that it allows enough time for clean up crews before real radiation damage can occur.

"Turning on AI mainframes. Uploading to the database. Multiple targets uploaded. Initiating launch countdown."

"3…"

The heat vents begin to make aggressive popping sounds as hot air is forcefully mixed with cold. Visibly the air becomes distorted like an intense mirage.

"2…"

Electronic buzzing noises came from the mounted weaponry as the drones do a quick system test ensuring the lethals are moving functionally.

"1…"

The hydraulic pod bay door finally crashed open as a small thunderstorm escaped the dark drone bay. The squadron of ER Drones raced out at incredible speeds, not quite breaking the sound barrier, but still a respectable 1000 km/h.

They were given the mirrored shape of a pointed rhombus that followed halfway through before ending with a flat nose. Despite the bulky design, they were aerodynamic while being purposely limited.

By the thousands, the drones flew to the mysterious gate from all over the sprawling city.

7:31 AM

Men on horses began to appear from beyond the gate adorned with impressively crafted, albeit ancient, iron lorica segmentata lined with gold, deep purple capes, and plumes of all sorts.

The heavily decorated man at the head of the formation appeared with a stone stoic impression.

His appearance quickly faded as he began to hear his heart through his own chest.

"By the Gods…", he muttered.

Their immediate surroundings were nothing more than an unimpressive small statue with a small forest.
But beyond the trees…A gigantic fortress towered into the skies.

The dark metallic structures making up the fortress glowed and illuminated with a strange magic that produced bright colors of various varieties.

A truly remarkable, if not damning, sight to behold. They were completely surrounded by this fortress, as if the enemy had centuries to prepare for their attack.

He could make out what appeared to be large bridges connecting various parts of the fortress together making distinct layers. These bridges seemed to intertwine and loop throughout the towers like branches from a willow tree.

As he looked further downwards into the "layers" of the fortress he noticed it got visibly darker. The shadows of the towers dwarfed the lands themselves as day became night on the lowest levels.

Only to be illuminated again by those strange, colorful magic lights.

This was impossible. There's no way mankind could build such things, he thought to himself.

A group of horsemen off in the distance spotted the man before they quickly galloped over.

"General Calvus!" one called out.

The general quickly snapped out of his daze as he saw the group approaching him. Recognizing these were the officers assigned to the initial first waves, he greeted them as they returned salutes.

"Ah Blandus, what's the report on the initial waves so far?" Calvus shakily spoke in as confident of a tone he could muster.

"Not good! The initial first moments were a success as our forces were met by weak individuals who didn't dare put up a fight. Instead they chose to run like cowards. But as soon as our men started to make their way into the forest…the metal birds appeared!"

He pointed just above the columns of men as wyvern riders failed to chase down these impossibly fast metal birds.

They growled louder than any beast the general heard in his many campaigns. The sound could only be comparable to that of lightning constantly striking nearby.

"The birds have an incredibly powerful light magic that melts everything it touches! They also move so fast that none of the ground troops have been able to land an effective blow! Our current count suggests anytime we even manage to take one down we lose about fifteen wyverns!"

"But they are killable?" The general pauses him, "If so, have the wyverns group into a close wedge to pick them off as they fly past-"

"Well, General…" Blandus cut the general off nervously,

"Even the wyverns nor riders have been able to land a successful hit on the metal birds. Instead our kills against them stem from direct impact against the enemy, but these speeds they fly at…it's suicidal."

The officer said no more as a few seconds of the battle field painted all the picture the general needed to see.

Calvus saw the air was filled with these metal creatures as if they were vicious insects defending a nest.

Hundreds, maybe even thousands, could be seen screeching through the sky. Occasionally spitting their bright magical beams of death that glowed like molten lava.

Even from a few hundred meters away the general could feel the intense radiating heat.

He watched as the few orcs remaining had their torsos incinerated in half.

Soldiers would attempt to shield themselves from the magical beams only to have their arms completely singed off. Bones and all.

One of the metal birds in particular lined themselves with the perfectly straight formations of the Empire's divisions before it proceeded to melt the entirety of the first row.

Shields and metal armor did nothing as the Imperial troops melted into piles of charred ash.

What lines existed quickly broke into panicking mobs. Order was seen nowhere, it was just chaos incarnate.

Even the wyvern riders and their tough scales fared no better against the onslaught.

The scales seemed successful in absorbing the heat from the magical beams, but these strange birds were intelligent.

They began to concentrate their magical beams on one spot which quickly melted through their tough scales. It was rather gruesome to watch as wyverns turned into a gelatin-like state while being cooked from the inside.

"General, your orders? We will surely lose the battle at this rate! We can't sustain these losses!" screamed a centurion off in the distance who was trying to rally the breaking soldiers.

Calvus hastily pondered.

What could even be done in a situation like this?

His mind paused trying to comprehend the situation as he and his entourage slowly stared into the sky.

An impossibly huge metal structure appeared so high in the sky that it seemed to reach the very heavens.

It didn't have an obvious end, as if it continued into the horizon for eternity, only to loop back into itself... Even more ominous were the small ships flying all around this structure like a swarm of flies.

Occasionally, giant metal silver dragons roared across the distant air like a flash of light. Some of these metal creatures appeared so large he wasn't sure whether or not to call it a beast or a magic flying castle…

These huge beasts left trails of bright flame as they flew into the sky- no, into the stars…

It didn't take long for Calvus to realize that the thousands of tiny dots and small ships the men saw high in the heavens were thousands of those giant metal dragons.

At any moment they could all descend upon them…

With reality hitting, General Calvus barked orders to his officers;

"Full retreat! Tell all the men to fall back through the gate! Immediately send word to the Capital for supplies and reinforcements to Alnus Hill! The fight here is lost, we must hold them at Alnus!"

7:38 AM

A calming hum radiated from the engines and could be heard throughout the holding area of the dropship. A 3D hologram glowed in the middle of the dark bay playing real time combat footage that was being uploaded by the Emergency Response Drones and the many surveillance systems installed on Earth.

Raphael frowned at the hologram.

He was watching soldiers wielding nothing but swords and shields slaughter innocent civilians as if it was nothing.

They don't resemble any known enemy and this sort of warp gate technology has been determined impossible by scientists long ago.

Even if an enemy nation were to have somehow discovered this tech, why waste a historical achievement on such a piss poor, sorry excuse of an attack?

Seriously, who the hell were these people?!

His bionic hand clenched a bit in rage, emitting small whirling ticks.

Looking around the bay, he took a quick note of his comrades who were all listening in on the pacing captain as he gave the mission brief. Raphael knew most of these men since many were veterans of the last great galactic war.

Veterans...more like survivors he thought. Each one of them survived going to literal hell and back.

They only lived to tell the tale because they were lucky, and each person in the dropship accepted this hard truth.

The UGN paid a tremendous toll in order to help bring the previous war to a close, only to achieve a minor victory in the end. A victory that the entire galaxy knew was nothing more than a fleeting cease fire.

But dammit they earned it.

All that work…Just to be re-deployed to the Capital for a surprise enemy invasion.

The young man sighed as he shifted his gaze towards his rifle.

The RR-27 "Mech Hunter" was unique to him. It wasn't a standard issue rifle and was rarely seen in service.

The rail gun featured a long, thin, box shaped metal barrel with wires and coils wrapping around it like a spring. Its design was rather simple all things considered.

It was equipped with a lightweight recoilless buttstock, a grip with an integrated AI injection site, and the ammunition fed into the very outdated, yet reliable, magnet assisted bolt action.

But the various ammunition that belong to the arsenal of the RR-27 told a different story.

Raphael pulled back on the bolt to confirm it was loaded with the DIR-Vacuum variant before slamming it shut.

The captain glanced over at Raphael while he was pacing back and forth inside the hologram.
"Son you're not ouroboros, so get your head out of your ass and listen up."

Raphael immediately perked up straight and listened in on the final words of the mission briefing. A short while after a robotic broadcast was played by the onboard AI.

"ETA to drop zone, three minutes!"

7:42 AM

Blandus was frantically riding around the courtyard attempting to call back the Imperial troops before it was too late.

The casualties were quickly piling into cruel numbers, but there was hope in a possible defense at Alnus as the retreat was being conducted semi successfully.

Winning was obviously futile at this stage. Even survival was nothing more than pure chance to not be targeted by the metal birds.

The young officer glanced back at the gate confirming that the organized lines were still retreating to the other side.

Satisfied, he gazed around the battlefield only to spot a decent sized contingent of Imperial troops some distance away.

The men appeared frozen in fear forming a shield circle, slowly being picked off by the metal birds as they zoomed by overhead.

Blandus kicked his horse as he raced towards them yelling, "Fall back men! Back to Al…"

This was all his breath allowed before he was forcefully thrown off his horse.

He let out a painful gasp as he slammed onto his back a good distance away. His vision was blurry with his ears ringing a deafening pitch.

Although he couldn't hear anything, he could feel the ground suddenly shaking to its core as if there was an earthquake.

With a hand over his eye, Blandus looked back towards the gate only to be shocked in horror.

The thousands of men in formations at the gate were gone. The only thing that remained was a large red mass of flesh, bones, and appendages without a host.

In an instantaneous moment, a flash of light made a perfect fist size hole in Blandus's head.

His body quickly dropped lifelessly forward as the battlefield turned eerily quiet. Not a single living Imperial soldier laid among the fields as blood soaked and stained the entire stone epicenter.

Raphael walked up to the fleshy mass of now deceased soldiers. Slushy crunching noises were made under his boots as his unit trudged through the gory field.

When he approached the red mass, he took out one of his incendiary grenades, pulled the pin, and threw it onto the mass before it exploded into a brilliant blue, almost liquid like flame.

This flame made quick progress towards melting down this pile of now biofuel.

Raphael just watched in silence. His face was expressionless behind the reinforced glass mask of the Mark.13 power helmet.

This type of scene felt more normal to him than his most previous year of service. A year that was marked by peace.

An ever so slight smirk crossed his face with the image of the burning pile reflecting off his visor.

He remained motionless, seeing the swords and iron armor beginning to pile at the bottom of the burning abomination.

He pressed a button on the side of his helmet before speaking in a professional manner, "Alpha this is 'Hugh Mungus', all hostiles have been neutralized. Go for green on the Hawk Eye Drones, over."

An enthusiastic voice replied through the Helmet Communications Module, " 'Camaro', that is not your call sign!", sighed the man who was sitting hundreds miles away in a drone reserves depot.

"10-4. Hawk Eye Drones have been deployed. Make sure the Gateway is clear unless you wanna become paste. They'll be arriving in 4 minutes, over" as a static finished the drone operator's transmission.

Two men from his unit walked up behind Raphael when he heard another voice over the HCM, "Help! I think Hugh Mungus is having a gravitational pull on me!"

The transmission cut off as Raphael heard sarcastic sounding screams behind him.

When he turned around he saw two of his comrades in power armor as one was flailing around, pretending to be sucked into him.

It was impossible to visibly distinguish members in the unit as the power armor and nano under suit covered every single pore of the soldiers.

Thankfully the AI that comes with each Mark.13 Power Suit is capable of informing its wearer who they were looking at, their military identification, and more importantly that person's rank.

Although these two weren't important. The one sarcastically jacking off was a man named Sammy and the one next to him went by Jonel.

Raphael signaled to Sammy with a single finger which only prompted a laugh in response.

"Really Raph? Hugh Mungus was the best you could come up with? Acting like a damn twelve year old" Sammy chuckled

"I don't wanna hear it Sammy. If we were called into service right after being told we would retire before the next major conflict, then they will put up with my bullshit" Raphael scoffed.

"Yeah but you know damn well that's for folks like the Captain, kid. You ain't retiring anytime soon at 21 especially with that new synthetic organ program. He's one of the OGs who got it first 50 years ago and them boys are still in peak athletic condition. They'd kick both our ass's."

Jonel said as he looked around the bloodied park.

"Speaking of the Captain, you know how much he hates when you folks say stupid shit like that on the universal channel…"

The previously lethal ER Drones still littered the air, but they have already been refitted with emergency first aid platforms which are filled with various auto-injectors and medical supplies.

The drones scoured the battlefield looking for any civilians who were still alive in need of medical attention.

This treatment was not given to the enemy invaders as no quarter would be given. Hundreds of men from the 104th Drop Troopers could be seen pacing around, giving swift executions to those who moaned and cried out in anguish.

Raphael slowly looked away, "Yeah yeah I know… I'm just frustrated aye? Nothing about this situation makes any sense, nor do I want to listen to the brass telling us not to run through the gate. If these are their armies, let's just glass them and be done with it."

"Listen I agree, but at the same time this is unprecedented. And just look around you" Sammy waved his hand as if he was revealing a curtain.

"This was the first time a citizen on Earth was killed by an enemy nation in the last 1,000 years. I want nothin more than to shoot the bastards on the other side myself, but obviously the brass has some plans."

"You are probably right Sam…A pretty rare moment for you huh?" Raphael grinned looking up in the sky as the AI confirmed five Hawk Eye drones were approaching; he could just barely see them with his telescopic bionic eye.

"Here let's get out of the way before the birdies roofie us."

The others nodded while Sammy returned a familiar single fingered gesture as the trio jogged off to help with the medical assistance and clean up.

Jonel spoke up once more.

"Oh I heard a Siege Casket and a bunch of crab synths were being sent here. Apparently they are going to march them through the gate to take a foothold."

"I love working with Siege Caskets as much as the next guy, but this is a bit overkill no?" Raphael remarked. "We'd be more than enough to finish the job."

"I think the UGN doesn't want their advanced super soldiers dying to an unlucky rock from a catapult."

"Oh so now they care about unlucky deaths…"

Sammy butted in "Hey Raph look at that! They view you as expensive merchandise! Must be nice huh?"

Raphael only rolled his eyes in response before lifting his old .50 caliber revolver to finish the job.

Meanwhile, the Hawk Eye drones appeared to have blinked into the gate moving at their impressive speed of mach 20.

The five aerial surveillance drones have the capability of mapping out the entirety of small planets by themselves.

Power was never an issue as the AI was programmed to always be mapping areas of active sunlight within the planet's day night cycle, if it had one. This way the solar panels could constantly charge the drone ensuring its operation until mission completion, or destruction.

10:43 AM

Earth's Orbital Habitation Ring

High in space orbiting the planet was an enormous man made ring that surrounded the entire planet. Orbital habitats aren't uncommon in the galaxy. They can offer safe expansion for planets known to have geological instability or overpopulation where cramming becomes an issue. Although the amount of planets that have a complete habitational ring like Earths can be counted on one hand.

A dark office was illuminated by a soothing glow of blue neoned striped lights. On one side of the wall was a large open window that held a breathing taking view of planet Earth from space.

The room was decorated by occasional UGN flags adorning the iconic symbol of the Milky Way galaxy surrounded by 26 five-pointed stars. Sitting in the middle of the office was a decently sized table with an interactable screen display face.

Five men were sitting around this table, some periodically flipping and swiping through different files and images of the information offered on the UGNs encrypted database.

Of the five men only three were physically present for the meeting, leaving the other two as holographic projections.

Earth's planetary governor, the current Sector General, and Sector Admiral were called into an emergency meeting to discuss what's being referred to as a "surprise terrorist attack on Earth".

This request was put in by the two holographic UGN senators sitting on the other side of the table.

Senators deal with issues all across the galaxy which makes it a rather rare occasion for them to be physically present for a meeting.

Because of this system, and an annoyance to many, bureaucracy continues to choke progress anytime it finds success.

Faceless beings to most who cold heartedly look at numbers all day long, only to make decisions that impact the lives of hundreds of trillions at a time in the galaxy. But nonetheless it was an important job that needed to be done.

One of the Senators spoke, "So…let me get this straight…" The holographic man virtually tapped the table.

"A mystical 'gate' appeared in the middle of Raymond National Park at the heart of district 27? And the other side of this 'gate' is an entirely new and uncharted agrarian planet which is possibly connected to an entirely different dimension? Is this correct, Ramus?"

"Yes senator…" The Sector General replied. "It appears the other side of the gate features prehistoric human civilizations ranging from somewhere between Earth's iron to the medieval era. The terrorist who attacked seemed to resemble that of an ancient Roman culture…"

The other senator chuckled before speaking,

"Well this just opens up so many possible opportunities no? The first thing I want to do is approve of research teams to study this 'gate' from both ours, and their world to see if we can't…replicate- or at least understand it."

"I understand your curiosity, senator, but I'm worried about the possibility of more appearing." The planetary governor softly spoke.

"Earth's population is huge and the last thing I want are more soldiers marching out slaughtering my citizens with swords and spears! It'll spread mass panic and we all know how hard calming populations this large can be."

One of the senators sighed nonchalantly, "How many casualties were reported from the terrorist attack?"

The planetary governor replied, "About 3,552 citizens from our current count were either killed or went missing. Also 7 of the ER Drones were destroyed from collision. Apparently the AI and mechanical parts have been collecting dust over the years and many malfunctions were reported back to the pod bay…"

Both senators barely even blinked at the number of casualties before one spoke up.

"Well they obviously aren't a legitimate threat to make any drastic changes to Earth. That in of itself would cause panic. Since we don't know how these structures work, or if another one will even open, it makes gathering research just as important as anything else."

He looked over at Sector General Ramus, "So, I'd hope you've already made preparations for securing a FOB on the other side of this possible dimension?"

Ramus nodded.
"As of right now the terrorists are completely surrounding the gate on the other side." He tapped and swiped in a few directions on the table before a hologram of Alnus Hill appeared before the group.

"I've called a Siege Casket and a platoon of the XM Synthetic "Tunnel Diggers" to clear the area. The only weapons that could realistically kill our soldiers are their siege weapons and…their small dragons, which should be no problem for this group in particular…The tunnelers will-"

The senator held his hand up to pause Ramus.

"You don't need to explain your strategy to me against cavemen. Inform me once a foothold has been established, then I shall send supplies to move forward with our operations."

Both holograms abruptly shut off as the senators no longer humored the conversation.

They simply wanted results, busy men like them had things to do.

The Sector Admiral who was completely silent the entire meeting stood up to stretch.

"Man, why the hell was I called in here?" He said while in the middle of a yawn.

He proceeded to grab his hat before walking out of the office as the two remaining men looked at each other with a tired expression.

The Sector General stood up, grabbed his hat "Well Omen, I will be in touch with you as the operation commences should anything go awry."

Omen only nodded to the general as they both exited the office.
