CHAPTER 4
When he woke up, he saw a man sitting on the other side of the room, staring at him, Ryan waved at the man, and he waved back. Ryan stood up and walked over to the man, at the same time he looked around, it was just the man and him in the entire room, when Ryan arrived at the man's table, he sat down.
"Good morning," Ryan said.
"Good morning to you too," the man replied. This man's voice matched the one Ryan had heard on the phone.
"How exactly are we going to find this artifact, have you found a clue and you need my help to solve it?" Ryan asked.
"I have found half a clue in an Indian temple; I tried visiting the mountain in New Zealand, but there was nothing there, I was hoping you had that piece," the man said.
"That was you?!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Apparently, we were destined to do this together Ryan Smith," the man said.
"What does your half have?" Ryan asked.
"My half is simply a map, and at the bottom, there is the top half of some text, how about yours?" the man asked.
"I just have an X marks the spot, and the bottom half of text, they probably go together and reveal the location of the artifact!" Ryan exclaimed.
"My half shows an island, my team and I have set up camp on that very same island," the man explained.
"My half is extremely weak, it's probably meant to go on the top of your half," Ryan said.
"We have just that kind of equipment back at camp, all we must do is wait until we arrive, for now though, enjoy yourself, we still have a couple of days ahead of us," the man said. "Call me Jonathan."
"Alright Jonathan, but what kind of lenses are we going to use?" Ryan asked.
"We will use trial and error," Jonathan said. He walked over to the kitchen.
Ryan stood up and walked away, but not before he watched his new ally make himself a mug of coffee, two eggs and two pancakes, he also got himself some maple syrup from the fridge.
Over the next few days, Ryan rarely saw Jonathan, and when he did, it was a simple hello in the halls until they finally arrived at the island.
