CHAPTER 6

Jonathan pointed to a larger camp than the one he was at now, funny thing being, the camp was also in a cave opening, it looked like a prison camp, so Ryan strolls over to it cautiously, making sure nobody is peering at him, he walks into the camp and looks around at his surroundings, but when he walked in, he stepped on a trapdoor, nothing happened. Ryan continued down the eerily empty hall, when he reached a wall, somebody kicked him in the back, knocking him to his feet, when he looked up, he saw the man that had visited his home just a week ago.

"Did you truly think that you would be successful here Smith?" the man asked. "This was always going to end one way, with your death."

"What the fuck man, I thought we had a deal, I lead your employer to an artifact, and you give me Max!" Ryan exclaimed.

"Ha! Like we were ever going to do that!" the man said, he pulled out a pistol and aimed it at Ryan. "You are the only threat to my employer's rule over the world, we could not allow that. The Scepter of Realms is much too powerful for you to possibly comprehend, with that artifact, you can disrupt anybody's anchor in the space-time continuum, sending them to not even God knows where, and with enough charge, it can be done permanently, anybody who disobeys shall b-"

"Bang" A shot was fired, the man froze, Ryan thought he was already dead, but the man fell forward, hitting the ground and spilling blood around the corpse, leaving another man, nearly hyperventilating, holding an identical pistol with steam coming from the barrel indicating that it had fired a bullet, the man's face was covered in sweat, his hands were shaking, the gun dropped to the ground, when the man saw Ryan, he tried to calm his face.

"Villains, always with the monologuing, it's going to be their downfall," he said.

"Max?" Ryan asked. He was almost frozen in fear of what had just happened.

"Hey Ryan, miss me?" Max said.

"Yeah! Where were you all this time, here?" Ryan asked.

"I was kidnapped, brought me here as a prisoner, they figured somebody would want to save me," Max explained. They sat and caught up with each other's activities when Ryan finally mentioned that they should probably stop the Scepter from being taken from the mountain.
