CHAPTER 8

Ryan felt funny, as if his insides were in the wrong place, Jonathan wasn't across an entire ravine anymore, for some reason, he was right in front of the Ghostbusters HQ, he looked to his right, Max seemed just as confused as he was, Ryan decided to walk inside, he saw the Ghostbusters, but not the ones he knew from the movies, they looked much younger, they spotted Ryan and waved at him, another one gestured him over.

"Are you four actually the Ghostbusters, or are you just pranksters? Because I really have somewhere to be, I.E. Fighting a god," Ryan asked.

"Fighting a god? Then why are you here, just let us handle it, we've defeated one before, don't you remember when we had to fight Stay Puft at the Shandor building?" the Ghostbuster asked.

"You've fought Gozer?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah! My name is Logan... Wait a minute, how did you know that?" Logan said.

"I watched a movie," Ryan replied.

"Then you must be a god as well!" Logan exclaimed. He turned away. "MALCOLM, JAKE, KEEGAN! GET OVER HERE! A GOD IS LITERALLY IN THE FIREHOUSE!" Logan turned back around, Ryan and Max were nowhere to be found.

Ryan and Max had fallen through another portal, now it was night-time, and they were standing face-to-face with what looked like a human, but it had a translucent blue right arm.

"Hello?" Ryan asked. Max backed away.

The man turned around and jumped back, landing on his butt. "You startled me! How did you get here? I thought I was alone!" he exclaimed.

"Sorry, but do you know where we are?" Ryan asked.

"How do you know where you are? Are you from another universe or something?" he asked.

"Something like that," Ryan said. He looked up and saw drones, they looked like they were looking for something. "Why are there drones in the sky? Are they always there?" Ryan asked.

"Damn, he's made it public before, but I didn't think he'd actually do it, after all these years," the man said. When he looked back at Ryan, he was gone once again.

Now he was in a college dorm, why, he didn't know, then somebody yelled.

"DANIEL, I TOLD YOU TO PICK UP THE CHEESE! WHAT DID YOU GO DO INSTEAD?!"

Another person yelled. "THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY, GO GET IT YOURSELF JACK!"

Somebody walked across the hall, it looked like a wolf, but it was standing up, when it saw them, it stood in silence.

After a minute, it spoke. "Hello? Are you a statue or somebody in a costume?"

"Um," Max said, they were all speechless.

The wolf seemed delighted for some reason, it noticed that its pants were starting to fall so it pulled its pants up and started walking towards them. "Uhm, I hope you didn't just hear our cheese argument just now," the wolf said.

"We heard it," Ryan said.

"Aw man, how much?" the wolf asked.

"Pretty much the last two sentences," Max answered.

"Damn, uh, my name is Jack, what are your names?" Jack said.

"My name is Ryan," Ryan then pointed to Max. "He's Max, I don't think we can stay here for long though."

"Really? Why's that?" Jack asked. As if on cue, another portal materialized and consumed Ryan and Max, leaving Jack alone, Jack looked at his surroundings and jumped into the portal to follow them.

They hit a soft surface, it felt like grass, Jack landed on top of them.

"Ouch!" Jack said. "OH! Sorry!" Jack got to his feet and looked around, then at his hands, then sat down.

"Where are we now?" Max asked. He was having trouble getting to his feet.

"Somewhere blocky, I feel like I recognize this place," Jack replied.

"Why did you follow us, Jack?" Ryan asked.

"At first, I thought my machine worked, this is proof that it does not work, I thought if I followed you, I could find out the secrets of the universe," Jack said.

"In a way, you will buddy," Ryan said.

"What do you mean?" Jack asked.

"Right now, we are trying to fight an interdimensional god," Max explained.

Ryan looked around and immediately knew where he was. "Stick with me Jack, the portals only know that Max and I are here."

"Fair enough, I just followed you guys," Jack said.

Jack followed Ryan very closely, their blocky appearances made them stick out like a sore thumb, then Ryan spotted a monster converging on three people. "HEY NEWBIES, RUN!" he exclaimed.

Just then, the portal took all three of them away from the world of Minecraft.
