"I don't think we're going to find any more outposts… we've been looking for weeks. I'm tired and hungry." A girl with short, wild black hair and a tomboyish appearance spoke in a downcast manner to the boy who was leading the rugged, dirt covered group forward.

"Don't say that! I'm sure we'll find someone soon! They have to be here! They'd never leave just like that! Its impossible!" The boy with shoulder length black hair and sharp features barked back gripping his daggers in frustration.

"...she's right. Everyone has been celebrating, the fire nation is gone. We should rest. The Duke is tired." The soft but strong mumble came as the group paused at the quietest member speaking.

They glanced at the 4 year old who was rubbing his eyes looking down before being swept up by muscular arms.

"He isn't the only one who is tired." The large and buff giant of a teen rumbled as the presumed leader glanced back.

The group of ten that had been following them, all kids the same age as them, were dragging their feet, the sound of the carriages they dragged slowing as well.

The daggers were clenched again but in helplessness rather than anger. Soon a sigh was heard.

"Alright. We can rest here-" The words didn't even get out yet and cheers resounded all through the flat plane.

"Thanks Jet!'

"Yeah thanks Jet! My feet were hurting!"

"And I'm dirty!"

"How dirty?!"

"Very dirty!"

"Can we eat now?!"

Jet slapped his palm against his head as the coalition of kids immediately dropped their serious facades and began flopping around on the floor lazily.

With exasperated grumbling he went over the cart, being the most knowledgeable in rations, and began taking out the easily packed food and spreading it out.

"2 for everyone this time guys. Sorry." The boy tried not to let the sad groans get to him as he got to Smellerbee who gave him an encouraging smile when he gave her a portion.

"Thanks but I only need one. You can give it to Pipsqueak, he needs it more!"

The grumble that came after spoke volumes and the girl's face went red but she didn't take back her words.

Giving her a quick nod, he moved to Duke and Pipsqueak, giving them their rations.

"3?"

"There was an extra left over big guy. I know you need it." Pipsqueak smiled widely and immediately began digging in.

Jet glanced at Duke to make sure the youngest was alright but he was too busy trying to copy Pipsqueak.

With a nod Jet glanced over to their reserves before deciding he could go without today.

Moving his eyes over to the grassy plains, he saw the tiny hill they had stopped at for cover before deciding taking a lay of the land wouldn't hurt.

"Thanks." He said when Longshot offered him half of his portion and began scarfing it down.

"What will we do now Jet?"

Jet frowned, putting down the food.

"Like I told you. We will continue our search until we can find an outpost. We'll use their supplies to get more stuff."

"And if there aren't any?"

"There are."

"...if-"

"I said they are! Why do you keep questioning me?!" The boy stopped full on, turning to look at Longshot with a glare.

"Everyone's getting tired. We can sleep as long as we want but no one feels safe walking around like this. It's too exposed, like we can get attacked any time."

Jet balled his hands up hearing the well reasoned answer unable to refute.

"You say they're gone but you also say we can get attacked? You should make up your mind!" The boy shouted for a lack of better words.

"..."

Answered with silence the boy kissed his teeth and spun on his heel moving back up the mountain. After a second footsteps followed.

Feeling his frustration rise Jet furiously looked over the peak of the mountain for something to take his mind off it but blanked out when he did so.

"Huh?"

Longshot similarly did so as both boys gazed at the massive forest of trees, their chins turning upwards to follow it.

"Longshot…"

"..."

"Do you still have that map?"

Something like paper rustling was heard.

Jet took the map and unfurled it, his eyes scanning the faded lines and worn edges. He focused on a point marked Shu Lao. A forest that spanned for miles? Since when, was the map wrong? It had seemed so desolate before, the brown ground seemingly indicating barren land, but-

He glanced back up at the thick canopy, then down at the map again. No, that was definitely a forest.

"I-I think we should get back to the others," he said, glancing back at Longshot. "A forest is a better place to stay for safety." It could just be a mistake, an error from age and wear, so he could only roll with what they were granted.

Unfortunately that wasn't to be so.

"This isn't right! This isn't supposed to-" The girl said, gripping her hair in frustration, her eyes wide as she glanced all around.

The group stopped when the girl finally exploded. It was easy to see how rattled she was when they came closer to the forest but it seemed she could no longer take it.

Jet glanced at Longshot who shook his head. Smellerbee hadn't told them where she came from before so it wasn't surprising that she knew about what was going on.

Jet grinned, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, if we get lost, at least we can practice our survival skills. Who's up for a game of 'Who Can Find the Biggest Bug?'"

Everyone turned and looked at him baffled at the awful joke before the girl shook her head.

"This isn't time for jokes! I haven't even been gone for a full year! How can a forest grow in less than a year?!"

"Maybe you remembered wrong?"

The girl spun and looked at Pipsqueak, her annoyance evident. "I think I'd remember seeing a forest this big wouldn't I?"

"I'm just saying you could have mixed it up."

"And how does that even make any sense?! Do I look like him?!" She pointed to the snotty 4 year old picking his nose on the boy's shoulder.

"I'd make more sense than a forest sprouting out of nowhere-"

"I AM NOT CRAZY!"

"Okay! Calm down!" The boy got in-between them but the effect was minimized due to the large size of Pipsqueak who could probably fold them both in half.

Luckily being a leader came with perks.

"Let's just set up camp and see if we can figure it out tomorrow okay? Maybe you miss remembered hey- let me finish! Either that or something crazy is going on! Who cares, let's just get some sleep okay?"

Pipsqueak backed off evidently not having cared too much about it but Smellerbee looked at him aghast.

"You don't care about why there's some creepy forest here?"

"Not really."

She looked at him silently and he sighed thinking she was accepting before nodding to her and turning around.

"Let's unpack for today everyone-"

"Apple!"

Everyone's head shot up at the word and they looked at the toddler who was pointing deeper inside the forest.

Their eyes widened as they spotted what he did and Jet had 1 second to blink before they were racing forward without restraint.

"You guys…" He didn't say anything about it as he too was feeling hungry, moving closer, watching as Duke stood on Pipsqueak's shoulder to pick them and throw them down.

"Lucky~."

"I didn't know apples were in season!"

"Who cares! Eat eat eat-!"

They all climbed the tree raiding it like no tomorrow as Jet was throw his own apple, catching it easily.

"Ohhh maaan-" The preteen was astounded at the sheer sweetness and immediately lost his composure, not even seeing the weird looks sent his way.

With the single mindedness that only children could have, the all engorged themselves on nature's gift completely ignoring their surroundings until-

"G-guys?" Smellerbee got all their attention as she pontinted a bit ways away from the tree.

"That's just luck right-" Jet nearly dismissed the next fruit bearing tree but he gulped catching sight of the next tree beside that one as well.

And the next one.

And one next to that as well.

Another….

It kept going.

Silence fell on the makeshift camp as everyone gasped at the long line of trees.

Soon they realized that they didn't hear nor see a single animal since they came here. Not even the little chirp of a bird and it was just after dawn.

The forest was completely quiet.

'Holy crap-' The kids thought as one.

"City Leader Kira, Priestess Hama, there's been another group of refugees following the guide. Children-!" The order recruit, a new one from the earth kingdom, bursted into the tent, interrupting the tense planning session focused on the city's new structure.

Hama lifted her head slowly from the blueprints, her gaze piercing through the dim light. The initiate flinched under her dead-eyed stare that only held moodiness.

"I see. Do they have anything that sets them apart from the others?" Her voice, though lethargic, dripped with an undercurrent of malice.

"...no, my Priestess."

"Did they bring any contributions?" Her voice became darker.

"...no, my Priestess?"

"Did they bring anything at all?" It was like an abyss enveloped the tent as the man shook like a leaf.

"..."

"Then, like the others, assign them to their designated areas. There's no need to report every trivial detail. Get. Out." The initiate, sensing the tension, bowed deeply and hurried out of the tent, leaving Hama and Kira alone in silence.

"City leader Kira. How is the formation of the city's guard coming along?" Hama asked blandly and the woman shifted ignoring the earlier scene.

"It's going well, however they still need time to catch their strength and become properly organized. There have been many recruits and with the help of your men, I have been able to entice them with a surplus of food."

Hama nodded slowly. That was how she thought it would work especially when that brat left her (her healers) with the task of healing most of the city. They had become very thankful for the suddenly not aching bodies.

Not to mention what he did before he left. The people who were there to witness it became very…well they weren't far off from the water tribe. A pity only such a small number saw.

Well it mattered not. With the new shrines she planned to have constructed that would remedy itself with time.

"However…" Hama turned to the woman, giving her a glance. She had a feeling that she knew what she would bring up and it made her satisfied. She had been waiting for this.

"There is a problem occuring and spreading. The new groups of refugees, they do not see any reason for them to work when everything is being provided for them. From my reports, if they can just pick and eat fruits from outside, why would they need to do anything?"

Hama's eyes twitched. That reminded her of a major oversight. The water tribe did not do money like the earth kingdom and fire nation. They battered for what they wanted and needed being a nation focused on survival.

That had nothing to do with now though.

"I see. Let me guess, this sentiment is spreading to the original settlers?" The slow but hesitant shake surprised her.

"No, that's where it gets worse, there have been conflicts with them and the new groups because they feel they are leaching off your kindness. I had kept it quiet in hopes that it would die down but it's futile. It's getting worse every day." Kira shook her head.

Hama had many thoughts about that. One the woman still had enough power to keep something like that from her and two that she would be needing to take that away. Either that or have her own people blending so she didn't have to wait on her to report. Luckily she already had the second plan in motion.

"Thank you for your consideration but we can't run a city properly if you don't give all the information correct?"

The woman tapped a finger on the desk.

"I understand that however you all have been so busy, I had thought I could deal with something so small. My apologies."

"It's no issue. I'm thankful that you're so cooperative. It would seem the great spirit had quite the impression, no?"

The woman looked away slightly as she spoke ruefully. "He is quite the figure."

A chair was pushed back and Hama stood. "Well I have a solution to the problem you speak of. I would hope you can point out those who became a problem?"

"I can't but I know who could." The city leader got up as well.

"Good enough but I hope you don't question my methods…they are unconventional but they work I assure you."

"Priestess Hama let us not pretend, I, and to a greater extent this city, isn't at your mercy. So long as we get what we were promised I have no grounds to complain for how you have us govern."

Hama chuckled.

"I like you but that just takes the fun out of it."

Three days later, once the identities of the original settlers had been established, the new rowdy groups found themselves inexplicably dragged far from the city and unceremoniously dumped in an unknown location. All they had to survive was a single crate of supplies, barely enough to last three days.

The grim reality set in quickly. Half of them would meet a gruesome end in their desperate bid to reach any civilization, succumbing to hunger, injury, disease, or even murder then consumption. Those who managed to make it to a nearby settlement, often gravely injured, faced a similar fate. Death awaited many of them if fortune did not smile upon their weary souls.

Of course, no one would ever take seriously the ramblings of a madman claiming to have seen giant wooden golems and a cult worshiping a powerful spirit killing them in droves.

Yet the new residents of the newly named Konohagakure would forever remember the nightmarish vision that unfolded before their eyes, what they first believed to be mere statues suddenly springing to life and marching ominously into the heart of their city, taking people only for them to never be seen again.

The memory of that spectacle would haunt them for years to come but that would be the last time anyone made a fuss about not working. To further prevent it, the fields of new fruits were now being fenced in and made farms so no one could misunderstand again. Along with guards being placed as soon as they could.

Of course Hama, a prime expert, master and doctor in revenge, had a list of these people who were close to those who died so she would make sure to take care of them when they got more settled and populated.

For now whoever she enjoyed the semi free labor and laid in her bed glaring up at the roof when she remembered her bed was empty.

It had been weeks now and he still hadn't come back. Had he been enjoying his time with that foolish little girl so much?!

What about her?!

"What about me, you god damn BRAT! Aghhh!" She screamed into her pillow, gnashing her teeth in frustration, as she turned in her bed for the 50th time but the woman didn't feel comfortable at all. In fact she felt even worse.

No matter how many layers she stripped, bloodshot eyes returned to the ceiling in silence biting her lips until they bled, trailing down her pink bottom lip.

….

She hadn't been this long without him near her before. It was strange. She was so used to at least knowing where he was…

….

She wondered if he even missed her.

'If only I had been younger.' The selfish thought came. Had that been why she had gotten left behind? Maybe she didn't have that adventurous bone in her? It wasn't far-fetched…maybe she couldn't keep up?

She didn't know…

She pursed her lips dissatisfied with what image appeared in her mind. Sure she had noticed how much slower she aged compared to before, no doubt the doing of what made her this way, but she still knew if things continued like this…

'I don't want to be left behind…I don't want to leave him for anyone else! I don't, I don't!' The thought terrified the woman to stiffness.

These titles she had imposed on herself, the responsibilities, what would she do if they all caused her not to get what she really wanted? She realized now, he picked up that little brat because she had no real power or duties but what about her?

Hama?

She wanted to annihilate the fire nation but she also wanted her son. But she knew her son, he wouldn't destroy the fire nation even if she commanded him to. Hama wanted the fire nation gone so she needed a force. She also wanted her son but her son wouldn't destroy the fire nation. However if she continued like this she would lose her son! She didn't want to lose him but he couldn't give her what she wanted! B-but she wanted him. Why couldn't she have him?! Why couldn't she have everything?! She tried her hardest to balance everything, she tried to find more ways to be with him. She tried but why couldn't she still have them both?! Why couldn't he just stay with her?! Why was everything so hard?! That fucking princesses taking her place! Hama wanted to rip her apart! And that brat! How dare he leave her to galavant?!

Why

Why

Why

"AGHHH-!"

Kai and Nami both flinched in fear hearing the beastly scream and the sound of destruction come out behind them

The twins glanced at each other quickly, seeing the fear in each other's eyes before they gulped hoping they weren't next.

"Don't leave me…" Hama mumbled curled around her pillow, her long brown hair shadowing her face as she calmed down from her rampage.

Resting her face on her pillow, the woman whose eyes blurred had been forced to make a decision. Otherwise she would have never been able to escape that state.

"Come home soon…Naruto. I miss you."

"Cheers to our freedom!" one of the many men gathered around the wooden table outside near the main road shouted, raising his cup high. The others followed suit, voices rising in agreement, their drunk states making their volume sky high.

"To freedom!" the Chief echoed, despite his lingering reserves of the past months. But now it seemed they were finally in the clear.

The Fire Nation was gone.

"Did you see the look on their faces as those dogs fled?" another man chimed in, his calloused hand slapping the table with a cackle, boasting as if he hadn't been a captive. "It was glorious! A shame I couldn't kick one in the ass when they left."

The chief snorted. "Aye, I'd rather take one of their heads though. That would've made for a fine trophy."

"Imagine the tales we could tell! A wall of heads to scare off any invaders, maybe I could find a wife too?!" a burly man added, raising his cup as if to toast to the idea.

He was denied.

"Not with that nasty mug Karok! Who'd lay with your dirty ass man?! Take a bath!"

Laughter erupted, as the now named Karok sat back down glaring at the man who spoke as they got into a spat and it was all cheers and beers until-

"You think they'll really stay away? What if they regroup?" The mood was brought down as everyone quieted looking at a skinny young man with long black hair.

"Enough of that!" the chief did not allow the topic to even start.. "We've earned this moment. Let's not tarnish it with worries, we've won." He glanced around, meeting the eyes of his friends, urging them to focus on their victory that was not truly theirs.

"Right you are!" another man shouted, quickly changing the subject. "Let's talk about the feast! Did you see the size of that boar they brought in? I could eat my weight in it!"

The chief chuckled, letting the conversation shift back. They traded stories of the hunt, boasting of their skills, drowning out any lingering concerns.

But as the night wore on, and the children went to sleep, a cool breeze rustled through the trees and past the road causing the chief's smile to falter as he glanced around.

"Perhaps we should turn in-?

"Let's not stop the fun now!" one of the men shouted, clinking his cup against the chief's. "We have much to celebrate!"

Just as they were about to dive back into their revelry, a thick mist began to roll in the village getting them to exchange glances.

"Strange weather," someone noted, glancing warily toward the road.

"Maybe the Fire Nation left some spirits behind," another joked, but the laughter felt forced.

As the mist thickened, the chief's heart raced. He wasn't stupid. Something wasn't right. "Get back to your houses and get armed! Something is-" he warned but just then, a small figure emerged from the mist, gliding silently through the main street getting everyone to gape.

Wrapped in white fur, it moved with an eerie grace. The chief felt a chill grip his spine as the laughter died in their throats.

Many pairs of eyes followed the child-like figure in horror, watching as the mist completely encased the town in its grip, dimming their vision, flowers blooming in its wake.

They observed the rumbling under its feet and could only gape as they watched the spirit walking through the village, redecorating it as if it was nature's child.

The figure slowly passed them with nary a glance or sound, except for its footsteps, simply walking right down the middle, bringing its unnatural mist with it, before it left through the village's next entrance.

5 minutes hadn't passed.

The men simply watched blankly until it was completely gone before the village chief raised his beer bottle, took a hearty sip and drained the entire thing down on the floor right after.

He was soon followed.

After that day they would sign a pact to never drink again, that would be broken the next week.

Yue practiced her waterbending katas with graceful precision, the movements of her body flowing like the very waters she had learned to manipulate.

Her feet glided over the ground, one step in front of the other, shifting seamlessly from one fluid motion to the next. She summoned the energy of the ocean and moon, pushing and pulling, feeling it surge through her veins, guiding her as she transitioned from a low sweeping arc to a powerful upward thrust.

*Boom*

The body of water impacted the gray boulder, finally shattering it into many pieces as she sweated at the physical exertion, apologizing for damaging nature as she sat down.

The girl lost her guilt however when she felt the white bunny nudge her feet and she smiled before looking over to the great spirit. He was sitting on a flat rock mediating, his fist and feet clamped together perfectly. Surrounded by numerous animals, she also saw the many chips of rocks and wood over him from her striking training.

He had asked her to do her best to disturb him from his meditation, and though she didn't want to cause unnecessary damage, the urge to listen to him outweighed her reservations.

'The great spirit is truly something.' Yue thought, rising from her spot and approaching him, feeling an unexpected sense of calm radiating from the nearby animals. They regarded her with curiosity, before looking away.

If she were honest with herself, she had never had this much fun in her life. Everything here felt like a new experience. The sights, sounds, and scents of the forest were intoxicating. She felt alive in a way she hadn't before at her home.

With a playful smile, she called out to him, glad she could finally win at teasing him without losing. It didn't matter to her that he couldn't fight back.

"I bet you never thought I'd do this huh? Hihihi!" She moved forward and poked his cheeks, pinching them as if looking for something.

She began frowning when she realized that no…

They were not whiskers.

"It can't be-" The girl rubbed the soft cheeks some more, feeling her heart shattering as the awful truth became apparent, her face falling in despair.

Making soft sounds of sadness and disappointment the girl stood back and sat down looking at him silently feeling her expectations betrayed before she came out of her slump.

They had passed by several small villages and the great spirit being the great spirit had simply walked through all of them.

Of course leaving his own color. Flowers, trees, animals all followed him whenever he passed by a town and Yue was a prime witness to see the people bowing or cowering when he entered their towns.

She didn't understand it much, but he was apparently laying the groundwork to come back and sweep up.

Of course when the great spirit stopped being the great spirit and became Naruto, they would hurriedly come back and watch the chaos that he left.

She was sure he was still embarrassed by that one village that had seen the trees as more annoyances than anything else. They had blocked the gates that carts needed to get into making quite a commotion.

Luckily it was the first one so he adjusted accordingly but she was sure he'd never go back with how red his face was.

The girl giggled and laid down on her back breathing out glancing at him, not really knowing why she couldn't keep her eyes off him.

She really didn't have anything to do that didn't involve him so when he became like this she was forced to stop too but she didn't hate it.

It wasn't any worse than how she lived when she was a princess. It was better in fact. Dedicating her life to serving the spirits didn't sound as bad as it did before.

Not that it did sound bad! She just meant in comparison…

"I wonder what kind of plant this is…." Her eyes became preoccupied with the pretty yellow flower with white spots. She didn't pluck it of course, rathering to leave it to fend for itself.

"Flower…" She looked at it again, feeling a bit strange. Like it was familiar, so delicate and dainty that she didn't even want to hurt it-

"Ah-" She then thought of her position at the great spirit's side. What did she do exactly? Why was she so lucky to be chosen for this honor?

Was it just that? Luck? She didn't know why but it made her feel…uncomfortable. She didn't really do much to earn her position and it felt like anyone could come and take it-

The girl flinched when she felt a sharp pain in her chest. It was tiny yet it hurt all over and it didn't stop.

She realized she didn't want that at all…she wanted to stay near him at all times. She needed him but he did not need her..

"Mghh-" She turned her head to see him coming out of his trance and she watched the animals looking spooked before they ran away almost bumping into her.

"Yue? How long was I out?" The boy rubbed his head looking tired as watery eyes stared at her.

"Was I supposed to count?" Yue rubbed the bunny before letting her go feeling nervous. Did she mess up again?

"...ehm I guess not. " He yawned, stretching as she wondered. It was impossible not to be curious with all his affairs.

"Did you find anything else Naruto? I know you're having problems…" Though he hadn't told her what they were.

"Nah. Whatever this is comes and goes for some reason. Though I did remember a really nasty memory." He grimaced as he got up.

Though she really wanted to ask, Yue held her tongue and got up with him smiling because for now it was the best she could do.

"Okay. I'm sure you'll get better." He returned her smile as he took out a map and she made her way over to look down at it. It had a long squiggly line from Konohagakure all around it and towards their second to last destination. They couldn't just visit everywhere, it'd take too long.

"The Abbey. Do you know anything about it, Yue? We should be close."

Yue felt a bit stupid when she could only shake her head in negative but she was trained to not let such things show.

"Well, I heard their Nuns or something. I know the fire nation has them, they're supposed to be…pure I guess? We may need some kind of presentation if we want them to take us seriously. Especially if they've already been pressured by both the fire nation and earth kingdom. I think they've been the most unaffected than everyone else. "

Yue watched as he paced around in confusion and she knew she had to push herself to speak.

"Maybe we can make baskets and a cart to carry them, Naruto. Also we can try a new way of approaching this problem. Instead of just growing trees around villages." She released the breath she was holding because it was heavy. She had wanted to give her opinion on it before but she had never seen the need.

But now that she felt her position was threatened…

"A-are you saying I'm a one trick pony?"He looked confused and she snorted back her laugh.

"Nooooo-" He looked at her skeptically so the girl looked away trying not to feel bad about what she was thinking. Yes, he was a bit of a one trick pony!

"Well, I just feel not everyone may need food, some people may need protection but we won't know unless we talk!" She felt it was a bit simple but when he looked at her surprised, she kept her head straight looking at him trying to not backtrack.

"That's…a good idea but I can't let everyone think I'm human right? That's bad. I can only do that with so many people…that's what mom said anyway."

Yue eyes widened. He was right. That was bad. She was forgetting she wasn't talking to a boy her age but a great spirit!

"Uhhh-"

"So how about this? I'll let you go in my stead as my…her-herald? Is that it?"

She nodded letting him know that was the correct word before her eyes bulged as she realized what he said.

"H-herald?!"

"Okay, as my herald but only this time though! Because we already know they aren't dangerous. I name you, Yue, My herald! Now here's your pay." After making a grand show waving his hands he held out a shiny apple that she took in a daze.

"But I-"

"Well let's get to it! We can't be waiting here all day."

Yue looked down at the apple astounded. Did she really just secure her position by talking her mind a bit more? Wasn't that just anticlimactic? But most importantly-

"No…" she whispered, making the spirit/boy turn to her with a puzzled look as she let the apple tumble to the ground.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, tilting his head.

Yue flinched, and when she finally looked up, her cheeks were bright red, but that didn't stop her from trying. If talking had gotten her this far, maybe she could ask for something more!

"M-maybe I could get something else as payment?" she stammered, her heart racing.

"Uh… I don't have any money," he replied, looking a bit put out.

Yue shook her head, a puff of air escaping her nose. How bold of her to even think it, but-

"C-can you hug me?" she mumbled, her voice barely a whisper, as she stared at the ground, feeling warmth spread across her cheeks.

"Please?" She begged not even realizing how cute she looked as she turned her eyes to the floor.

'How rude of me! I should be glad that the great spirit is assigning me this task! How could I be so-!' The girl immediately discarded the thought as she flinched in anticipation hearing his footsteps get closer.

He was standing right in front of her and her eyes were dizzy.

Oh.

One minute she was standing and the next she was being lifted off the ground, her legs dangling as the great spirit gave her a great old warm bear hug.

'Ah, ah, ah-' The girl wiggled inside the arms as she went limp like a noodle unable to comprehend what was happening.

When the girl was put down her trembling legs crumbled beneath her like weak sticks, she didn't even hear his panic shouts as she twitched on the ground in bliss.

"Uhhhhh."

Her brain had left the station.

And Naruto had no idea what he had just unleashed. The foolish child.

"Mother Superior, there is a situation that needs your attendance." The humbly dressed nun opened the door to the blending room, bowing politely to the elderly woman.

Superior who had been instructing her younger charges on combining the different essential oils paused and turned towards her with serious eyes.

"Is it perhaps the earth kingdom? I had been expecting word from them for quite some time." Shifting both her arms into her long sleeves, the woman posed the question.

The nun didn't try to hide the confusion on her face.

"No mam. It's a rather well dressed child who wishes to speak with you. She also comes bearing gifts…"

Superior was now deeply invested, especially at what was hinted.

"You speak as if she is alone?"

"She is Mother Superior, about 12 or 13 years old as well and the gifts…."

"I see. Then lead me to this child. I will judge the situation." Receiving a nod in turn for her words, the elder moved behind her junior, following her to what she knew was the waiting room.

'There hasn't been a visitor in at least 4 months without counting our trading partners. What could a young girl possibly want with us? With gifts as well?' The woman didn't let her confusion show as she arrived at the white, flower painted door, her sister nun bowing out leaving her to handle it.

Taking a breath, Mother Superior opened the door, spotting her curiosity immediately as she raised an eyebrow in amusement seeing the cookie crumbles near her lips.

"Good evening child. What is it you wish from this abbey…" She decided to spare her the embarrassment, seeing her wipe them away subtlety before she was surprised when the girl's temperament changed.

"Good evening Mother Superior." The girl started politely bowing, getting the woman to smile.

Then she went off the rails.

"I am named Yue and I come as the Herald of The Behemoth, Apprentice Priestess of the Order of the Leviathan and Princess of the Water Tribe. I wish to discuss if you were willing to place the lives of your people in the hands of the Great spirit."

There was silence.

Mother Superior looked at the girl in the eyes seeing the complete seriousness there, wondering if the fire nation had poisoned the water supply before they left. Or perhaps the smoke fumes had infected people more than she thought?

Only that could explain the utter lunacy she just heard.

Thooonks for the reviews.
