Name: Daryll Phillipe Gibbons

DOB: 06/07/1988- Paris, France

Unit: 2nd Marine Special Operations Batallion (Marsoc)

Current age: 34

Significant other: Emmanuelle "Twitch" Pichon

Early life: Daryll is the only child of Emanuel "Manny" Gibbons and Juliet Gibbons, Daryll's parents met when Manny was on leave in France from the 3rd Marine Divison, they hit it off and nine months later they were blessed with a healthy bouncing blonde haired boy.

Daryll was raised in Paris the first two years of his life before Manny finished his last deployment with the Marines and didn't reenlist to be a full-time father.

The family moved to Baton Rouge Louisiana, and Daryll was surrounded by a loving family that loved their little French and Bayou French speaking child.

Manny was a big fan of martial arts movies and watching martial arts tournaments on TV whenever he could, and little Daryll would sit beside him on the couch and loved them as well.

Daryll was picked on in school for his accent that combined the smooth French and the Cajun twang, and there were many times that he got detention for picking fights with his bullies. Juliet did not approve of his use of violence since she became a nurse after getting her citizenship, but the pipe hitting marine that was his father was proud he stood up for himself.

In middle school, while many boys were playing sports or goofing off, Daryll was taking martial arts lessons since he enjoyed the exercise and the peace of mind that it brought him.

By the time he graduated high school, he was a second-degree black belt in karate and was starting his studies with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and later Krav Maga. On his eighteenth birthday, he hitched a ride to his nearest recruitment center and volunteered for the United States Marine Corps just like his father did.

He wasn't able to get written permission to join when he was seventeen, but he was determined to serve his country after what happened to it in 2001. After returning home and telling his parents what he had done behind their backs, they promptly exploded, but after a while, they calmed down and helped him get ready for him to head to basic training.

After basic, he was assigned to the 2nd Marine expeditionary force in North Carolina and spent a lot of time aboard small ships performing harbor patrols in the Middle East and Africa.

During one of these patrols, their patrol boat was ordered to watch the canals, while the oiler and refueler ship of carrier strike 4 was docked for repairs.

It was him, Sergeant David Clark, and his fellow Lance Corporals Windsor and Bonner, along with the patrols boats pilot. All was going well until several small boats ranging from old jet skis to modern fishing boats burst from the canals flanking a jet boat that had a massive bundle covered in tarps.

The patrol boat started to give chase when several of the jet skis broke away from the chase and pulled up alongside the boat. The passengers made the daring leap across the open water and started to assualt the Marine with wicked curved machetes.

Sergeant Clark moved to the bow of the craft and got on the Browning M2, and began hosing down the jet skis and fishing boats, leaving Bonner to protect the pilot who was radioing the CIC of the carrier and Daryll and Windsor to protect their Sergeant.

Daryll knew right away that his rifle was next to useless in these conditions and quickly put his CQB training along with his martial arts training to work.

When the fight was over, Windsor had a machete buried into his collar bone, Daryll had killed two men personally while sending two more over the bouncing craft using the pole they used to pull the boat into dock.

The last they saw of the jet boat was a missle streaking from a Seahawk and the boat sending a massive shockwave across the water. They performed a patrol around the destroyed boat while the navy divers searched the wreck for unexploded ordinance that could've survived the explosion.

In 2006, Daryll had volunteered for Marine Force recon, wanting to prove to himself that he could do the difficult training. Arriving at Camp Pendleton, he completed the basic recon course before starting the nine week three phase training pipeline.

Phase one is the longest after four weeks he was subjected to high intensity personal training, running difficult obstacle courses, swimming with fins, rucking, land navigation, helicopter rope suspension training, communications and supporting arms.

Phase two is three weeks concentrated on small unit tactics, mission planning, and executing full mission profiles. Daryll had a scare when on a mission he was bitten by a spider, and his skin started reacting horribly. Luckily, he wasn't poisoned, but he was definitely allergic to that spider, even though he never saw what it was before crushing it under a glove.

Phase three only consisted of only 2 weeks in Coronado, where they were taught nautical navigation as well as small boat operations and amphibious recon.

His primary weapon in Force recon consisted of an M4A1 Sopmod configuration along with an M45 meu soc in .45 acp that he would carry for years.

During his rotations back home, Daryll was addicted to his studies in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu going on to enter several tournaments whenever he was able to. He also got into training using collapsible batons using them to great effect in training and even taking two of them back to the fleet with him but never deploying with them.

Onward to glory: In 2010, Daryll was amid transit aboard the carrier of strike group 4 when he received an invite for the individual training course to become a marine Raider (Marsoc), he read the email over and over before his lieutenant stuck his head into his compartment telling him he needed to get packed up cause the plane would be leaving in two hours with or without him, he wasn't the only one on the surface fleet that was leaving for additional training.

Sergeant Daryll Gibbons arrived at the infamous Camp Lejeune in North Carolina for his nine month four phase training course, having to relearn the basic skills and learn some new ones for two weeks, small unit tactics along with operation Raider spirit and stingray fury

Phase three consisted of close quarter battle training, and this is where Daryll excelled, his hand to hand combat skills were put to the test, needing to use the techniques the instructors taught them instead of the skills he picked up when he was growing up and serving as a marine. This training took five weeks, even though Daryll didn't want it to end.

Phase four was irregular warfare, and it sure stood up to the name, with operation Derna bridge requiring him and the others working with a partner nation's military and Daryll learned that he loved learning from different militaries and the other branches of the US military, he wasn't like other Marines that assumed that they were superior than the rest.

At the end of the nine months, a Marsoc Raider was born with the words "always faithful, always forwards" being tattooed around his left bicep.

Charlie Company: 2nd Marine Raider Batallion, team two, tactical element/fireteam 2-1s assistant element leader newly promoted Staff Sergeant Daryll Gibbons arrived at his new station on carrier strike group five in 2011 not to cheers from his twenty-seven Marsoc brothers but to a sparring competition.

His first opponent was his new commanding officer, Captain Daniel McKnight, and he is a corn fed Nebraskan who has a habit of pushing his men to the absolute limit. The twenty-seven raiders, two SARCs (Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman), whom Daryll was certain were holding and placing bets, and him lower than the Lance Corporals of the tribe.

McKnight threw him a pair of boxing gloves, and a clean shaved Hispanic man with the butter bars of a lieutenant helped him put them on, his name tape read Rico and Daryll learned that this butter bars was actual one of the most senior members of the teams right behind the team chief/ Master Gunnery Sergeant.

"Give us a good show then. We know all about extracurricular skill sets." Rico said as Daryll slammed the boxing gloves together, getting his new teams attention.

McKnight was just getting his gloves laced by a man who terrified Daryll when he stared him down out of the corner of his left eye that was surrounded by scars that looked like he was smacked in the face by a pickaxe point first.

This is Master Gunnery Sergeant Emmerson, the grand old man of the Corps with over twenty-five years in and many more to go if he had anything to say about it, behind Emmerson holding up one of the gym bulkheads was an African American man who was sizing him up through his glasses.

Daryll learned this was the Operations Sergeant, and his assistant ops Sergeant was sitting on a weight bench not far away. These are Gunnery Sergeant Mack and Staff Sergeant Wilson.

"You done gawking at the HQ element, son?" McKnight asked as they knocked gloves together and began to dance.

After the fight, the HQ element was leading Daryll through the cavernous passageways of the carrier to their team room and armory. Daryll was holding an ice pack to his chin. The Skipper was a boxer when he was a younger man, and his punches hurt more than the average man.

The Skipper was holding an ice pack to the lower part of his back due to him ordering Daryll to quit holding back. He was met with kicks and ground grapples, and it was the first marine bootleg boxing match that ended in a pin.

Entering the armory, Daryll was impressed with the lineup of Scar-L rifles and MK48 light machine guns that sat in racks, and the collection of Sig and FN pistols sitting in cases.

Daryll was quickly loaded down with new fatigues, plate carrier with Tac vest, helmet with NVG mount, and pads. He was officially a Marsoc Raider, and he now looked the part.

Competition: Currently deployed on the strike group was a Seal Team along with the Marines of Marsoc, and they mostly got along, but Captain McKnight and Master Chief Derek Shields absolutely hate each other.

Apparently, the Skipper was a washout for Seal selection, and after he failed, he joined the Marines and "actually worked my way here." In his words.

So when Daryll was sitting in the team room chatting with team 2 and Gunnery Sergeant Mack. He was a little surprised to see the Master Gunns walk in, grab him by the shoulders, and shove him towards the hatch.

When Daryll asked Emmerson what was going on, he just grunted. "What's going on is the Skipper and LT are in the middle of a briefing with the Seal Commander, and he requires your set of skills." Emmerson said as they began climbing the ladders that led to the upper decks.

When Daryll asked if he needed to break a fight up, Emmerson just laughed. "Trust me, no one wants to bounce that special warfare asshole off the carrier more than me, but no, you're needed because you can speak French better than we all speak english."

When they made it up the three floors to the CIC and the small briefing room, Daryll would have thought that he would never see the inside of the CIC, let alone the briefing room that all the strike group decisions were made.

Entering the briefing room, Daryll noticed the Skipper and Master Chief Shields were both standing out of their chairs and were both staring death at each other. At the far end of the table was the captain of the flat top as well as his executive officer with a man in a working class uniform sitting to the XO's left.

"Emmerson and Gibbons reporting as ordered Skipper." Emmerson said as both new arrivals snapped a sharp salute.

"Thank you Master Gunns. Now, Captain, do you care to explain your plan?" The XO asked, and McKnight lowered himself back into his seat, and Daryll was filled in.

Roughly three hours ago, a French research vessel started to send out an SOS on a French military frequency, and the French navy is nowhere close to render aid. They asked for our help since the vessel is within range of the carriers' launch and Seahawks.

"That's why we should get the op sirs, me and my boys are trained for this sort of thing." Shields said, causing McKnight to glare death at him.

"With all due respect, Chief, but my raiders are better equipped than you, your translator doesn't know French, and you won't be able to communicate with the crew after securing the ship." McKnight said, gesturing to Daryll.

The man in the digital blue working uniform stood up suddenly and stared at the two team leaders in turn.

"The decision isn't up to either of you, I'll be quarterbacking the op from CIC, and I need any edge possible to help the team on the ground." Daryll learned that this was Lieutenant Louis Barton, and he was serving as the officer of the watch in the CIC.

In the end, the leadership of the strike group decided to send team 2 under the command of Lieutenant Rico and Master Gunns Emmerson to assualt the boat.

Meeting at the fan tail deck a few hours later, Rico took team 1 into one of the ships launches while Emmerson took team 2 on another. The plan was for team 1 to take the port side while team 2 took starboard.

Daryll was down in the prow of the launch with his new Scar resting oh the lip of the boat. They were naturally doing the operation at night, so it was light discipline with the only light from the UV spotlights of the launch and their weapon mounted UV lights.

Daryll had a sig p220 in a drop leg holster, and he had his M45 meu in a waistband holster behind his back. He was also given a stun gun and a collapsible baton by NSF (Naval Security Forces) in case anyone could capture any of the attackers alive.

The dark blob of the ship was getting bigger, so the pilots of the crafts shut the motor down, and the Marines began to row towards the boat with the launches oars.

"2-Actual to CIC, requesting update on enemy disposition over." Rico said over the team channel from his position near the pilot station.

"CIC to Actual be advised ISR is picking up two armed figures up top, recommend going with plan Bravo." Barton said, and Sergeant Patrick Carson moved to the bow with his Scar MK20 DMR and propped himself on the lip of the boat.

Plan Bravo was designed to be used if they could clear the deck simultaneously. Team one had their own long gunner, and when the targets were dropped, then the pilots gun the boats engines to get to the vessel quickly.

After the rifles fired, the launch lunged forward, causing everyone to hold on to something when they were within the visual range of the ship. The pilots turned the two large spotlights on each craft, promptly blinding anyone dumb enough to look their direction.

Daryll removed his NVG's and took aim on a figure he saw drop to cover. His ACOG optic gave him plenty of Zoom, and when he saw the top of his skull, he fired once dropping the man. His first kill in Marsoc was under his belt.

The boats pulled along the larger craft, and rope ladders were thrown over the side. The Lt went first, followed by 2-1s fireteam leader Gunnery Sergeant Colby Black, then Daryll, who watched the hatch at the top of the ship where the pilot house was while Carson and Lance Corporal Marty Burns climbed over.

The only people who would stay in the boats were the pilots and the SARCs. Daryll noticed that the attackers were well armed and didn't seem to be a mix of races, Daryll followed his team inside the ship while team 1 took the upper deck and the pilot house.

The ship clearing went well. There were only three sleeping berths, while the rest were used as a galley, makeshift lab, and a recreational space with tvs and computers. They had only dropped two more targets when he was called to the pilot house by Emmerson.

Daryll made it top side and was met by Master Sergeant Sanderson, who was leader of team 2-2 and assistant team cheif at the bottom of the steps, telling him that the way was clear and that his language skills were needed.

Entering the pilot house, Daryll was met with two more bodies dressed in western garb and of multiple races. He noticed Emmerson in a heated argument with a man who was bruised and bloody sitting in the pilot chair.

"Listen, buddy, I'm normally a nice guy, but you need to calm the fuck down before I do something not nice." Emmerson said as Daryll stopped beside him. "Good, you're here. Talk to this guy."

Daryll removed his helmet and knelt down before speaking French, which the guy was surprised to hear. "There are eight of them. They claimed to be mercenaries working for the US military, and they said they needed to search our vessel for contraband."

Daryll asked about the other passengers, and the pilot informed him of two other passengers, a man and a woman who were taken below deck. Daryll rose and donned his helmet and called for a Corpsman to tend to the guys injuries.

Putting out the info over the net, he made his way back below decks again and began to help his team search for the missing passengers and their last missing contact.

Daryll was searching the lab, and he was about to leave when he heard a small sob coming from below. He looked down and could barely see the outline of a hatch, kneeling down and running his hand over the floor he could feel the break on the floor, but there was no way to open it unless it was controlled by the computers that were destroyed.

Removing his Halligan bar from the side of his pack and levering the hatch open till the tough lock broke open, he was met with a hidden compartment and a blonde woman laying against the wall with a sharp object sticking out of her abdomen.

Daryll climbed down, careful not to jostle the wounded woman. He noticed a passageway leading down the length of the ship towards the engine room, putting the call in for another Corpsman he checked the woman's pulse, and it was weak, but there.

The woman opened he blue eyes slowly, and her pale face was full of surprise. He told her quietly who he was and that he was here to help. He asked her if she knew where the last passenger was, and she told him that he was taken to the ships desalination station.

When the SARC arrived , he told the LT his plan while the rest of the Marines were getting info off the dead bodies for examination later.

He found the last hostage tied to a pipe at the edge of the passageway and was moving to secure him when the last enemy peeked around the corner firing a pistol whose first shot slammed into Daryll's front trauma plate sending him sprawling on his back.

He reacted and fired twice, dropping the man. The hostage started to freak out, but Daryll couldn't tell what he was saying since his mouth was gagged.

Quickly freeing the man, the first words out of his mouth caused him to sprint while pushing the man forward. "Dead man switch." The ship was rigged to blow.

"Marines, we are leaving!" Someone put out on the comms because of course they did. When they hit the top deck, Daryll saw the Master Gunns and the LT telling them to hurry. They helped the prisoner down the ladder when the ship shuddered violently. The three Marines jumped and landed in the launch with a thud.

They tore out of there, and thirty seconds later, the ship exploded with a massive fireball. "All that work, and for nothing." A voice called to Daryll's left, seeing the man staring out at the wreck.

The man was Gustave Pichon, and the woman who was being worked on by both SARCs in the other boat was Anastasia, who is his girlfriend. Both worked for the University of Paris and were on a trip to study the local ecosystem off the coast of Africa.

After returning to the flat top and rushing all three of the boats occupants to the Med Bay, Daryll stood on the fan tail deck and stared out at the water, remembering why he loved being a Marine.

"Hell of a thing you did." Daryll spun to see the Skipper who was geared up in case the mission went sideways. He looked up to see team 1, who were all staring at him with admiration. "Well, now that he went out and got some, do you think our new assistant fireteam leader is one of us?" McKnight asked, and every marine from Master Gunns Emmerson to the Junior Lance Corporals gave out a singular sound

"Ooh-Rah."

2015- Charlie Company didn't stay tucked away in carrier group five forever. They deployed to the Middle East in 2012 and stayed in constant deployment until 2015.

Currently awaiting transit at Vélizy- Villacoublay Air Base, Daryll was in charge of teaching the unit French, and he was allowed to discipline any member of the teams, including his superiors.

One evening, when the unit was spending the evening in their assigned barracks holding a dart tournament, the door flew open, and the Master Gunns told Daryll and his three best students to get geared up.

Exiting the barracks in a hurry Lt. Rico pulled his team towards a little bird, telling him the situation.

A five man GIGN team was running a protection detail for the new French presidential candidate when their convoy was hit by a vehicle equipped IED. The GIGN were able to get away and were currently held up in an office building that was now under siege.

Daryll's team was going to insert by helo to reinforce the team inside while the rest of Charlie Company would roll in with the rest of the armed response.

The rooftop was starting to fill up with people climbing the fire escapes and jumping from adjacent buildings. The helo flared in low, letting the Marines thin the opposition before jumping down.

Clearing the roof and reaching the metal door, Daryll pounded his fist and called out who they were. The door opened to the biggest man Daryll had ever seen, and he was holding the largest shield that had several impact marks from bullets.

Giles Touré moved to the side, allowing the Americans to get inside before locking the door back and putting his shield against it. Daryll made his way down the stairs, meeting the second member of the defense, Julien Nizan, who patted them on the back as they all went by.

They found the leader of the team Gustave Kateb in a back office with the principal, who was tucked inside a closet with a reinforced vest given to him by Nizan, the last two member of the team were down on the ground floor.

Hearing this, Daryll sent Lance Corporals Rick Weaver and Colin Riley to reinforce them while he sent Lance Corporal Marty Burns and Sergeant Patrick Carson to protect their floor while Daryll and Gustave planned their evacuation.

Their plan was to hold up here and keep the enemy out while the ground forces flush them out. Suddenly, the floor shook, and Daryll ran out to see the wall had been breached, and his men were being rushed by men with bats and pipes.

Daryll waded in with an M45 in his left hand and quickly drawing one of the two custom collapsible batons that he had specially made by a friend back home.

He dropped one man with the M45 before it became a better bludgeon than a firearm. He collapsed several windpipes before his team was able to push them back, Gustave ran to the hole and put a large wall reinforcement device in over the hole.

The defense was held until the reinforcements were getting closer, and Daryll put himself down on the bottom floor with Olivier Flament and Emmanuelle Pichon, who was wearing a ski mask to help keep the snowing drywall dust out of her eyes and mouth.

"Charles 2-2, this is Charles actual be advised we're meeting heavy resistance but were moving to you." The Skipper called, but before Daryll could respond, the whole front of the building was replaced with a massive fireball.

Daryll was struck in the face by a thrown piece of brick that knocked his NVG's askew. He fired with one eye aided by night vision until his mag went dry before throwing a flashbang and a frag.

He grabbed Emmanuelle and pulled her down behind cover before the two explosions shook the room for a second time.

Emmanuelle worked her way out from under Daryll, who couldn't move due to the desk they were hiding behind. He was mostly on his back, and he was holding it up with his body and arms.

After being freed and helped to his feet by Emmanuelle, he noticed men in the doorway, but they were Marines, and they had survived the night.

A year later, Daryll was in Paris on leave, and he met Emmanuelle while he was being refused service by a café for him wearing his marine Corps tank top with his tattoos exposed on his arms.

She had berated the owner and took Daryll for a nice dinner that knew her and her family. Daryll thanked her, and they went for a walk in a park where she asked Daryll to teach her his hand to hand techniques that she heard about by her team.

She offered him the spare room in her apartment while he was on leave as payment, and he spent the rest of his leave as an instructor to the prettiest woman he's ever met.

They stayed in contact, and over the years, they had built a very passionate romance that is still strong today. In 2018, they met up in Nancy to introduce Daryll to her father and new stepmother.

All four of them were surprised when they realized that Daryll and his unit had saved Doctor Gustave Pichon and Anastasia from the pirates on the boat years ago, needless to say, they approved of their daughters boyfriend.

Team Rainbow: In 2020, Daryll was pulled aside by Captain McKnight to show him a sealed manilla envelope with an application to join Team Rainbow. It was forwarded by Emma, who had gotten approval by their leader.

"Daryll, listen to me. I don't want to lose you to some joint taskforce, but I know that these people have been doing good work, and I know they need someone like you. These operators use their special gadgets, but they need someone who uses their well-defined skills." The Skipper had told him to fill it out since he knew it would put him closer to the woman whom he knew his staff sergeant loved.

Daryll had received a send-off that would go down in the Marine Corps history books if someone kept up with Marines and their debauchery. He received a gold plated lighter from Emmerson and a box of good cigars from his unit before he climbed on the chopper that took him away from his longest unit and family.

Daryll arrived at Hereford and was immediately picked out by Maxim Basuda and Lera Melnikova for his hand to hand skills. He also became close friends with the newest advisor, Malcolm Talbert, who was still settling in with the operators.

Daryll participated in the mission in Morocco on the ground team that secured the lab and dealt the killing blow to Pyotr Ivanov after a prolonged fist fight that nearly killed the younger man.

He also took part in the mission to kill or capture Sergei Grendel, being the only operator to avoid capture due to the floor in the safe house collapsing and burying him under rubble.

He aided the team sent to rescue his fellow operators and chased Sergei down with the help of Malcolm, who killed the Russian by drowning him in the ocean.

Today: Daryll is the most accomplished hand to hand fighters in team Rainbow with Maxim, Lera, and Tiana Pereira all acknowledging his skills. He is currently with the team, who is escorting the defectors of team Rainbow to the drop off with NightHaven.

Physical condition and equipment

Height: 6ft 0in

Weight: 201 pounds

Build: lean and muscular

Primary weapons: FN Scar-L with a Trijicon ACOG 4x sight and FN40 grenade launcher, custom collapsible batons.

Secondary weapons: Sig p220 and M45 meu soc.

Daryll has the motto of the Marsoc Raider "always faithful, always forwards" on his left bicep and a heart wrapped in barbed wire with his mother's name on his left peck.

Psychological Report: Daryll might be my favorite operator to talk to when I need to talk about something besides work. He always knows when someone needs a distraction. One time, he came into my office and told me that I was going to meditate with him. He is a very spiritual man, which seems to tie in with his southern upbringing.

He also told me that the first day he arrived, he proposed to Emmanuelle and kept it hidden from everyone for two years. Daryll will make a wonderful leader if he can understand that he doesn't need to be on the ground in the action.

Inspiration: Daryll's love for the Corps and family was based on José Garcia from the extinction cycle, his fighting skills from staff sergeant Brady from Arisen. His bravery is based on the Marine Raider Teams from Arisen, who fought and sacrificed everything to save humanity.
