Bloom had been called into Faragonda's office after her little stunt over at Red Fountain. She had snuck into a private event, then ruined it, attacked someone without reason but her own conclusion that the other person is a witch, all because she couldn't understand why Brandon, who later was found out to be Sky, hung up on her when she, or rather Stella, called. She thought she was right but all she did was prove that she was impulsive and didn't think things through. Bloom silently cursed, wishing she had done more investigation instead of blindly charging in on her own instincts, which turned out to be wrong this time.
Faragonda was not thrilled when she saw that Bloom had ruined the events of another school. She wasn't even holding a gentle look on her face like she normally would. Bloom's actions had given Alfea a new and irremovable stain on their reputation as a school that trained their students well. Worst of all, her relationship with the other headmasters of the other schools were slightly damaged. Griffin made an off-hand comment about Alfea's students, but that was not as terrible. Saladin was upset, really upset. This was an important event at Red Fountain, and it had been ruined.
"Miss Faragonda?" the headmistress snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the voice of the new fairy. She wasn't going to go easy on her this time. She understood when Bloom had practically been near the stage of begging to stay in Alfea after discovering she was a fairy, even after she used the name of another student who had said they weren't attending anymore. But this time, things were different. She refused to allow this type of behaviour to be repeated once more and would nip it in the bud.
The door opened to reveal the fairy in question. Faragonda had a lot to say to her. But the headmistress could see that Bloom was quite upset about something. She shook her head slightly, deciding this was not the time to be soft towards any students who would disregard any sort of rules so lightly. No matter what background they came from, no matter what they went through, those kinds of actions are just purely unacceptable.
"Bloom, I'm certain you know why I've called you here." She responded as the fairy sat in the chair in front of her. Bloom had refused to look at the headmistress, knowing why she was called here, but seemingly trying to find any kind of reason to justify her actions.
"I know, Miss Faragonda, I'm terribly sorry." Faragonda raised an eyebrow. 'Terribly sorry' doesn't excuse her actions, nor does it excuse the fact that the bond between Red Fountain and Alfea had damage done. Cloud Tower was pretty much fifty-fifty since none of the students were involved in this debacle.
"I was just so convinced that Diaspro was a witch and that she was manipulating Sky." Faragonda's eye twitched, something that she didn't really think she would do while listening to a student explain their actions. Several students had talked about their experiences with witches before, but that never gave them the impression that all witches are bad. They never even once badmouthed the witches or claim someone else was a witch just because.
Bloom continued explaining her side of the story. How she was tricked by the Trix and how it had affected her. She had a hard time trying to see that witches could ever be good since then. This made Faragonda understand a little more about the fairy student's experience. Several others have once talked to her about not being able to trust witches, even when the witches are their friends, just because of one bad experience. But no student has ever once jumped to a conclusion that someone could ever be a witch just because things weren't what they seemed.
"And that gives you a right to attack another fairy?" Faragonda questioned. Bloom froze for a moment, trying to think of something to say. But before she could, Faragonda continued questioning her. "Even when that individual transformed into a fairy, proving she couldn't be a witch, and used her own element of magic against you?"
That left Bloom speechless. She never thought about that. She was so focused on attacking Diaspro under the belief that she was a witch to the point that she had missed when Diaspro used fairy magic against her.
"I understand that you've had a bad experience with witches and have trust issues with others who seem to be not as nice." Faragonda stood up and walked to the front of her desk. "But that doesn't mean that anyone who doesn't treat you nicely is a witch, Bloom. You were quite stubborn at that moment and were blinded by your own facts instead of the truth"
Bloom kept her head lowered, ashamed of her own actions and how she had reacted. She didn't realise her actions would have such a big impact.
"There's also the fact that you used a spell you were not familiar with to knock out a royal guard." Bloom bit her lower lip. She had forgotten about that. To be reminded again, she was horribly remorseful of what she did.
"You were lucky the royal guard was able to be awaken. That spell could've been his dying moment." Faragonda knew Bloom didn't understand how dire the situation was with the royal guard. "His name was Sirius, he was Diaspro's personal guard. He had been dismissed since there were lingering traces of magic still left within him. They were unable to remove the spell entirely. He has a family of his own, his wife was hurt badly and relies on him to earn enough to feed their only child."
Bloom was feeling the guilt on her shoulders just crushing her entire body at this point. She had thought it was a rather simple spell. She didn't think it would affect the target this much.
"Is he alright?" Bloom asked, there was genuine care in her voice. Faragonda thought about her answer for a while before she decided to relay the entire situation and not leave out a single detail.
"He would be fine if he doesn't overexert himself. Diaspro, however, was heavily affected." Bloom was confused, why would Sirius's dismissal affect Diaspro? Faragonda could see the questioning look in the fairy's eyes. She took a deep breath before continuing to explain. "As you know, Diaspro is not the most likeable person. She tends to be on her worst attitude to people she doesn't know. However, Sirius was around her long enough to break down her walls and truly understand the stress she has been through"
"You might not know this, Bloom," Faragonda had a sharp look in her eyes. "Diaspro was never a princess to begin with. She was promised this position by the King and Queen of Eraklyon"
Diaspro was never a princess? That was news to Bloom. With the way she behaved, Bloom was convinced she was a snooty little princess who thought she was above everyone else. Faragonda could see the look of shock on Bloom's face and knew that the new fairy had no idea. This wasn't exactly common knowledge, but it was something that might've been obvious enough. The King and Queen of Eraklyon favoured Diaspro for the sole reason that she and Sky were childhood friends. They slowly drifted apart over the years.
The arranged marriage between Sky and Diaspro was not a happy one. Then again, was there ever anything that was happy about being arranged to marry someone? Diaspro had initially been happy about it. She had always liked Sky more than just as friends. Sky didn't like it, and this was something Diaspro noticed. She knew her chances of being a princess as promised by Sky's parents would be next to none if anyone were to catch Sky's interest. Which is the exact reason why she decided to put on such a terrible attitude towards anyone who seems like a threat.
"She knew you weren't just someone roaming around the school when she first met you. The way you looked at Sky only confirmed her suspicions." Faragonda decided not to let Bloom down slowly. She wanted Bloom to realise what was happening and why her actions almost caused trouble between the two schools.
"I didn't realiseā¦" Bloom trailed off. She really didn't think any of her actions could have any sort of consequences this big.
"I have no choice but to serve up what the headmaster of Red Fountain saw fit for your actions." Faragonda explained before looking Bloom straight in the eyes. "You're suspended for a week, Bloom. Use this time to think about your actions and the harm you caused to others."
Bloom raised her head, wanting to argue. But one stern look from Faragonda was enough to make her keep her thoughts to herself. She didn't think it was her fault her previous experience with the Trix made her jump to conclusions regarding Diaspro. She didn't think she deserved to be punished because she truly thought she was stopping a witch in her schemes. However, here she was, receiving what she though was an unjust punishment.
The moment she stepped foot out of Faragonda's office, she cried. She buried her face in her hands and cried. She thought this was unfair. How could she be punished for something she didn't know? How could she be punished for something this minor? It was all unfair, she decided.
Bloom decided not to say anything else as she returned to the Winx's dorm. She wanted to tell them what happened and where she would be going. If something were to happen to her, she wanted her friends to know. At least if she died, she wouldn't be forgotten.
The moment she reached the Winx's dorm, Bloom stood outside, taking in deep breaths. She wasn't sure how she was going to break the news to the girls that she received an unjust punishment. What else was she supposed to call it? It isn't even Faragonda who wanted to hand down the punishment. She couldn't believe the headmaster from another school could even demand a student not from their own school be punished for something she had considered was so minor. Yes, she did interrupt and ruined an event, but that's all it was in Bloom's eyes. Just another event at another school. She thought there was nothing special about it.
"Bloom!" Stella had thrown the door open and hugged her best friend.
They "infiltrated" Red Fountain together, yet Bloom was the only one Faragonda had called into her office. For obvious reasons, but to the Winx, it didn't make sense. Bloom hugged Stella back and began softly sobbing into the bright fairy's shoulder. This only added to the other Winx's concern as they wondered if the visit to the headmistress's office could really be that bad.
"I got suspended." Bloom managed to get out. The other Winx gasped in shock. They didn't realise things were that bad. They thought they all should've been treated the same since they committed the same offense, but why didn't they get suspended as well?
Bloom explained how Faragonda thought it was a fitting punishment for her since Saladin was the one who recommended this. She conveniently left out the part where she had attacked someone else at Red Fountain, something the others didn't do.
"I don't know why this is happening, but I can't stay here." Bloom said as she continued crying. "I'm going home to Gardenia, where I know at least I'm wanted."
Bloom made it sound like Faragonda made a hasty decision. Bloom made it sound like she wasn't in the wrong at all. The other girls crowd around her, hugging her and comforting her. Flora tried to tell her that suspension isn't permanent, and that Bloom would be back sooner than she thinks, but the other fairy just wasn't feeling it. She believed her chances of learning to be a true fairy was over and that this is the end for her.
"Don't worry, Bloom, we'll talk to Miss Faragonda and get things straightened out." Bloom just smiled at the girls, thankful for their support.
She bid them goodbye for the time being before leaving for Earth.
