"Leooo, can we go home now!?" Mikey whined, balancing on a giant billboard advertising a new brand of chips. He put one foot in front of the other, turned about 360 degrees and began walking the rest of the way on his hands.

"We've probably been out here for a million hours, dude!"

Skillfully he jumped down from the giant board, grabbed a nearby pole with his hand, and ran in circles around it before throwing his head back to look at his brothers.

"I'm sooooo bored," he whined, sliding down the pole and sitting there on the floor.

"I could just sit at home and watch TV right now!"

"Mikey," Leo began with a sigh. "You know our regular patrols are important. You never know when something will happen. We have to be prepared in case of an emergency."

"It's been three months now," Raph interjected, crouching on the edge of the roof, looking down at the street. "And so far nothing has happened. We're just wasting our time here."

Three months. It didn't feel that long, actually. That's how much time had actually passed since they had defeated Shredder and ended his reign. For good this time, hopefully.

And yet there was still a spark of fear in the air, that maybe it wasn't over after all. At least Leo couldn't quite close that book just yet. His worries overtook. They all had been through a lot.

"We'll go on patrol every day. Or at least every two days," the leader stated firmly, jumping to the nearest roof and looking back at his brothers from there.

"So get moving. The quicker we get this done, the quicker we'll be home."

With a loud, deep sigh, Mikey rose from his position. He trotted across the roof in a sluggish motion, only half-heartedly jumping over the gap between the buildings, which almost resulted in a fall. Donnie and Raph were able to grab him by the arms just in time, pulling him back up.

"Thanks Bros...heh" Smiling embarrassedly, he continued on his way, followed by his older brothers. At some point the youngest member of the group looked behind himself. The party wagon, which they had parked in an alley, was no longer visible.

"I don't understand why we don't just take the car. That would be so much faster and we wouldn't have to walk!" he complained, swinging his arms wildly and almost hitting Raph in the face. The hothead growled, about to curse, but sadly he was interrupted.

"It's easier this way," Leo explained quickly, not even looking back and instead casting his gaze into the alleys below.

"We have a much better overview of everything. Even the smallest crime."

Raph crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"When did we limit ourselves to petty offenses, huh?" the hothead asked, sounding as if he was teasing his brother. "Do you really miss beating up bad guys that much?"

"Funny having this come from you, Mr. I-beat-up-everyone," Leo grumbled, jumping off to the next roof. At first he wanted to let the exchange rest, but he couldn't help but explain his behavior in more detail.

"I just want to make sure that everything here is in order. Well... as good as it can be."

Not wrong. This city had experienced a lot of havoc. Apocalypses, invasions, many citizens lost their lives...and yet there were still lights glowing in the distance, signs of life. Leo took in the sight for a moment, then started moving again.

"So move. It won't be long anymore"

They jumped over the roofs, occasionally fooled around and bickered, watched some people doing their last errands on their way home. How they all scurried through the streets, ignorant of the reptiles on the roofs.

It was starting to get late, the streets beginning to look deserted. Hardly a soul now there, nothing happening. Most of them were already asleep, that's what the night was for.

"Well, I guess we're done for the day. Let's go back to the bus-" Leo announced the end of the patrol, which brought a cheer from Mikey. Swiftly he turned around, ready to run back to the car...if it hadn't been for the sound of an argument reaching their ears. Heated, screaming voices audible, cutting through the solemn air of the night.

The four ninja turned around, trying to find the source of the argument.

"Cool, amazing, what a great day," Lee grumbled, kicking a can out of the way. The blue-masked turtle had his hands in his pockets, the last in line trotting through the streets.

Raphie huffed angrily at the comment, whipping his head around. "You sound like this is all my fault! Let me tell you something: it's not!"

"Guys..." began the youngest of the siblings, caught between the two and thus exposed to the word-quarrel. "Can't we just calm down?"

"Shut up, Mike-!" Raphie's shoulders slumped as the reality of his words set in. "...I'm...sorry." He shook his head. "Let's just go find Donnie."

"This city is huge. How are we supposed to find him?" Lee groaned in annoyance, kicking another can off the sidewalk. "He could be literally anywhere."

"But we can't just stand around doing nothing! We have to do something!" Raphie growled without turning around.

He turned the corner, trying to shake off the incoming thoughts of helplessness. He couldn't just admit, that his twin was somehow right and this search was rather hopeless.

"That doesn't do anything. Can't we just call him?" Lee asked and fished his cell phone out of his pocket. Hearing the second eldest mutter a number of swear words, he opened his contact list and dialed his brother's number. However, no call was answered, even after several attempts, and the blue-eyed turtle had to give up.

"'Kay, so that don't work." The phone disappeared back into his pocket. Raphie took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.

"Okay, then we have to continue with our first plan: run through this city until we find Donnie." He couldn't think of anything else, didn't know what to do next. They couldn't just sit and wait for their brother to magically appear. That wasn't an option and would likely never happen.

"We can't run around forever though," Lee said, as if he was having fun teasing his brother like that. Even though the situation was more than unfavorable, they were separated from Don and trapped in a unknown city, the eldest seemed quite relaxed.

And it upset Raphie so, so much.

Whatever happened, Lee was apathetic. The second oldest was sure that someone could die beside him and he just wouldn't care. An impressive and frightening ability at the same time.

Though that meant, that the teenager constantly threw unnecessary comments at him and only made the situation worse. And it pissed the little hothead off beyond belief.

"You know what? I'd rather you just shut up and walk!" Raphie snapped. His gaze swept around the area, but the missing boy was nowhere to be seen. It didn't help that the buildings all looked the same, making it impossible to know where they are and where they went. They could be walking in circles and probably not even know.

"'kay," Lee replied to his twin's statement, falling silent except for steady humming.

Relieved to finally have some peace and quiet, Raphie concentrated on the task at hand. At least until he heard strange noises.

"...Do you guys hear that?"

His head snapped towards the sky as he tried to find the source of the noise. But all he could see were the houses surrounding them. Mike looked just as lost as her big brother and Lee just shrugged.

"No idea what you mean, idiot."

Although not satisfied with this answer, Raphie hummed and focused back on the road. Maybe just a cat...or a bird, even a rat, he tried to convince himself.

He felt his youngest sibling clinging to him, suddenly his path was blocked.

Four figures seemed to fall from the sky, looming in front of them and the second eldest forced out a growl, pushing his siblings backwards, angered by the apparent danger.

"Get lost!" he hissed, wanting to protect Mike and Lee at all costs, even if the latter seemed less than impressed by this entire thing.

His angry expression turned to confusion when he noticed who...or what was standing in front of him. Bewildered by what he saw, he took a few steps back.

These strangers...looked just like him, his siblings. Just bulkier...even taller? It was difficult to tell. But they didn't exactly seem too trustworthy to him, so he growled.

Several moments passed, both parties just stared at each other, unable to do anything other than that. Finally, after moments that took way too long, Raphie found his voice again.

"...Hello?"

He didn't get an immediate answer. The strangers in front of him seemed just as surprised as the lost kids themselves.

A few more moments passed, looks were exchanged, then finally Lee stepped forward.

"Alright, this staring contest was fun, but we have to get going. Right, Raph?" He threw his head to the side, looking at his twin. It was only then that he snapped out of his daze, shook his head and stepped up next to him.

"..Yeah. Yes, of course," he mumbled, starting to move again. Only then did Mike set off again, rushing towards the two oldest, clinging to Raphie with a whimper.

"Wait wait, maybe they can help us find Donnie!" she shouted excitedly, tugging on her brother's arm. They needed help. Raphie had to accept that.

The girl's gaze wandered back to the newcomers, settling on the one who looked so much like her.

"Please," she whispered desperately, seeing no other choice than to ask for help. Raphie wouldn't ask for assistance and Lee just didn't seem to care. But they had to find their brother before something happened.

"We're looking for our brother. Have you seen him, perhaps?"

"Um..." Leo shook his head, looking at own brother as Mike pointed at the genius in the group. Donnie looked quite lost.

"Looks a lot like him! Have you seen him or...could you help us find him?" The youngest looked around between the four strangers. Even if it was quite naive to trust them, though they had no choice. "Please?"

"Well, n-"

"Sure thing, bro!" Mikey turned to Raph, elbowing him in the side while glaring at him. They couldn't just leave these children to fend for themselves. Even if they were...quite special individuals.

What exactly were they? Where did they come from? Were they clones? And if so, who created them?

Pushing these thoughts aside for the time being, the youngest of the ninja team smiled at his counterpart standing in front of him. The youngest turtle's baby blue eyes began to light up. Mike smiled back gratefully.

"Thank you! Really!"

Behind her, all she heard was Raphie growling angrily. He stepped towards her with a scowl before grabbing his sister by the arm and pulling her back.

"Fine, but I'll keep my eye on you!" he snapped before turning away and storming off with his head held high, regardless of whether the strangers would follow him or not.

But he hadn't expected that they were vastly superior to him and could therefore catch him with ease. Trashing, screaming, Raphie began to rage as he was picked up and dragged into an alleyway against his will.

"Stop fidgeting," his counterpart immediately admonished him, having tucked him under his arm as if he were a potato sack.

"Put me down! You can't trear me like that! I know my rights, you fucking-" he complained loudly, trashing in the older turtle's grip, which got a good laugh out of Lee.

"Shut up!" Raphie's green eyes flashed menacingly. "Or you'll end up face-first in this goddamn dumpster!"

"Try it, midget," the eldest of the world travelers joked with his arms crossed. But his expression fell when his own counterpart began to speak.

"I don't know how it works in your world, but there are some rules here. Number one: No walking around on the street. No one's allowed to see you."

"Why?" Mike asked curiously, but was brushed off. And if she was being honest she preferred to look for Don rather than argueing with a stranger.

"Okay, but how else are we supposed to find our brother?" A legitimate question, but fortunately the ninja had their own ways.

"Oh," Mikey grinned. "Leave it to us, kiddo!"

--

Shortly afterwards they were all sitting in the party wagon, an old yellow VW bus that had been equipped with lots of armor and weapons, now used as a vehicle for missions. It was small, handy and inconspicuous, perfect for the busy streets of New York.

The kids couldn't jump over roofs, the ninja realized that quickly enough. But the bus served its purpose. So the seven pairs of eyes looked around intently for the missing turtle. Every once in a while one or two words were exchanged.

"So...just out of curiosity," Mike began, not particularly fond of sitting in a car without holding a conversation. Though her eyes remained fixed on the road, looking around for her twin. "What town, or city, are we in? It doesn't feel like home to me."

Mikey grinned at the younger teen, throwing an arm around her.

"This is New York, dude! The most magical place in the world!"

Silence fell over the kids, they looked quite pale, not having expected such a reply. Mike's gaze dropped away from the road.

"That...that's really far from home," she muttered, her eyes wide with shock.

"We traveled all over the fricking Atlantic Ocean!?" Raphie turned around to face the orange ninja, who just tilted his head in confusion at this reaction.

"Let's just say: we aren't from this country," Mike tried to explain, without trying to bother the ninja with their problems.

"Yes exactly. Germany, we are from Germany," Raphie stated a little more specific, almost crashing to the ground when the car tested its brakes on its functionality. His face met the leather seat.

"Dude, what the fuck's your problem!?" he snapped at Leo sitting behind the wheel, a growl coming out of his throat.

However, the culprit of that spontaneous action remained unfazed. "Look over there. Is that your brother?" The leader pointed into an alley. The younger teen followed his gaze. There on the ground, sat someone who looked suspiciously like the turtle they were looking for, almost unmoving.

Within a few seconds the door to the car opened and both Raphie and Mike rushed out of the bus, straight towards the person. The closer they got to it, the clearer it became who they were looking at.

"Don!?"
