So, remember how I said "no updates" until December 1st? Good, Because I was using an advanced tactic known as lying.
Jokes asides, I've managed to somehow find some time to begin writing! Don't worry, no deadlines are changing, if you want to submit an OC you still have until December 1st.
Don't expect frequent updates as of now, really. The update schedule will be REALLY inconsistent until the deadline. Actually, my update schedule is inconsistent all the time, look at this lmao
Don't worry if your OC doesn't appear yet, they'll be introduced when the time is right. Forcing characters in a chapter where they don't make sense really feels just like meeting a quota, it sucks, I won't be doing that. However, I do plan to give everyone ample opportunities to shine.
Thanks for the support the story has been recieving, keep submission, reviews and likes coming and enjoy your reading!
The weather was sunny that fateful morning, and the boat ride was going pretty smoothly. They had departed from Kalos just the night before; in the early morning they had approched Porto Marinada in Paldea to get the Region's students, before departing again straight for Galarian waters. It had been a trouble less night: the ocean was as flat as a board and gave no problems, nobody on the ship had any kind of complains, and Felix Brighton had finally gotten some rest in a real bed since Arceus knows how long.
The little 14 year old woke up when the intercom of the ship suddenly turned on, and the voice of the ferry's captain filled all of the rooms on the vessel. "All students aboard, get ready! In about one hour we'll arrive at Shinda. Thank you for choosing us for your travel." he said, in the grumpy tone he had been using all along. The half-asleep Felix kinda found it fun, because they really didn't have a choice when the Academy contacted them. The S.S. Ulysses was the only choice given for Sinnoh, Kalos, and Paldea students. Even if Felix couldn't remotely afford it, the Academy covered all of the expenses, so he was pretty thankful already.
This was effectively the first time he had left Kalos, ever. Saying he was excited was an understatement: he sprung up from his bed in a flash, his blonde hair pointing in all possible directions, and instantly removed his Nosepass themed sleepmask. His Helioptile, who had been sleeping right next to his bed, sprung up alongside him, just as excited as his trainer.
"Today's the day, Nova!" he said to his partner as he sat on the bed, the Pokémon jumping on the mattress right next to him. "We're getting in, we're getting in!"
The Pokémon replied to his enthusiasm with a warm smile. It indeed did look like a dream come true, against all odds.
The initial audtion was terrible: he was sure he didn't stand out in any particular way from all other contestants, that the examinator hadn't even noticed him to begin win. When the mailman found him and gave him the admission letter, he couldn't believe it, maybe it was an error? Yet the letter stated his name, and when he showed up last night at Coumarine City, they allowed him on the ship.
It was happening. He was finally leaving his small makeshift den for a real home, he wouldn't have to worry about what to eat for dinner anymore for at least a while, he'd finally have a comfortable bed to sleep in every night instead of a broken mattress. All tears of joy had been cried already: today was the day to remember as the beginning of his new life.
He got off the bed and entered the small bathroom of his room, running in the cramped shower after tossing his sleeping sweater and sweatpants off on the bed. He had one of the warmest showers of his life, feeling joyous as he finally didn't have to go to a river to wash himself anymore. He scrubbed off the heat of the prior night -he was unlucky enough to get a room with a broken A/C-, before he began to dry himself really quickly with a towel. He took the dryer mounted on the wall, and began to quickly dry his hair while looking at himself in the mirror.
The joy his smile radiated that morning was contagious, he would have uplifted the most depressed person in the world.
He swiftly dried his short hair, as it took its natural bell-spiked shape. A rebellious lock sticked out from on top of his head, a bit curved. No matter what, it wouldn't stay down: Felix didn't mind it. He quickly brushed his teeth and left the bathroom, coming back to Nova who had been waiting for him on rolled up on his sleeping clothes on the bed. He slightly moved the curled Helioptile off the clothes to put them away in his bag, before he began to dress up for the day.
He quickly got in his pair of brown khaki shorts, swiftly followed by a white shirt with long, green sleeves. He put on his black leather jacket, closing the zipper just on the collar so that it'd flow around like a cape. He loved the effect. HHeput on his slightly dirty yellow boots, and just like that, he was ready for the exciting day ahead of him. Nova, who had spent the last minute watching him, jumped on his shoulder, porching like a Chatot would.
He made sure really quickly to get everything he needed to from the cabin, as he wouldn't come back inside: another announcement from the intercom told all passengers aboard to begin leaving their rooms, to quickly drop them off on Shinda. He put on his travel bag on his shoulder: besides the newly bought school supplies for the Academy with his last savings and a few clothing items, he really didn't have much to bring alongside, so he was (un)lucky enough to have a single luggage.
He sprung open the door of the room, exiting as soon as the intercom turned off again. It was still about an hour before they'd arrive, but Felix had to be ready for the first big event of the day: breakfast. Aboard the Ulysses, they had been promised a buffet for the first meal of the day, and the little Kalossian boy absolutely didn't want to miss his chance. So much food in a single place? It was a dream come true!
He began to sprint trough the hall, aiming for the stairs at the end. He began to run down them, taking two steps at once. He grabbed the handrail at the last moment to keep his momentum while he turned to prevent slowing down, and ran down another fleet. He quickly got to the ground floor, and began sprinting to the dining room to enjoy his plentiful breakfast. It was the most important meal of the day after all, wasn't it?
Unluckily for him, he had forgotten one of the most important details: the Paldean students had boarded in the morning, and since they didn't sleep at all, they got to the buffet first. His heart sunk seeing that there were people already assaulting all of the food before him, but all hope wasn't lost. Pretty much all the students from Kalos and Sinnoh were still in their rooms, so he'd probably still be able to get some good plunder.
"Let's get going, Nova!"
His porched companion nodded in approval. They both rushed the food: Felix grabbed an empty tray from a fancy looking table, and istantly got to work on the selection that the crew had provided for them. The fancy looking tables were full of both salty and sweet treats. He recognised some Lumiose Galettes between the various foods, and istantly got some on his tray. There were actually quite the number of Kalossian foods: he added some Shalor Sables too, alongside a strange sweet cake that had gotten his attention He kept grabbing and grabbing, adding some various ingredients that were laying around: in a few minutes, his tray was about to break by the sheer quantity of food standing on top. He would have loved to grab more, but even his Pokémon realized that there was a limit. He nibbled his owner ear when it noticed that he was still trying to stack even more food on top, signaling him that maybe it was time to stop. "Alright, but don't complain later, got it?" joked Felix, knowing full well that the amount of food they had gotten would have been enough to keep them full for days.
The blonde boy began wandering around, searching for a place to sit and enjoy his breakfast. There were quite a lot of Paldeian students aboard, they were probably as numerous as the Kalos and Sinnoh students together. Apparently, many had already decided were to sit, as quite a few groups had already formed. Felix didn't really want to eat his breakfast alone, someone to talk to would have been nice. However, he really didn't feel like distrubing them, as they had already made their choice. His best option was to look around for somebody sitting by themselves, he guessed they probably would have enjoyed his company. He took a quick look around to try and spot some loners: he saw two.
The first was sitting alone in a corner table, quite far away from the other students: he had dark, messy hair with a few green strands; he wore an oversized purple aviator jacket, with green motifs; he had pretty tanned skin, which gave him the impression of someone who spent a lot of time outside. The most peculiar detail was his face however: under his green eyes he wore a black facemask, hiding the lower half of his visage. He didn't really look all that friendly to be honest, or at least that though Felix. He rejected the idea of sitting there as soon as he noticed the enormus Lokix standing right next to him, eating breakfast instead of his owner. Any confidence he had of sitting there instantly plumbed down the drain.
-Pass!-
Dark types were a big no-no. He didn't really want to make a fuss and bring in any kind of negative attention: it was the first big day in his new life, starting off with the wrong foot would have been disastrous. He had to opt for the other guy. He quickly made his way towards the other table, skillfully dodging the first Sinnoh and Kalos students that began flooding the room without dropping a single item off his tray. A loud chatter began to fill the area, most of the ship's passengers must had finally gotten there. He felt happy that he managed to get so much food.
"Can I sit there?" he asked to the lonely guy that was enjoy the same strange cake he had gotten earlier, alongside some tea and crumpets.
The man lifted his head to look towards Felix, crossing his sharp, dark eyes with the blonde boy's green ones. He had nice black hair, which he kept gelled back for a pretty slick look. He was quite pale, with a nice pair of black, squared glasses covering his face. He wore a nice green shirt with a red and blue checkered design: all the buttons were nicely closed, except for the last one, and he kept the collar folded in, showing his neck. He had an expensive looking coat, kept in the same fashion that Felix wore his leather jacket, except it just rested on his shoulders. The little boy wondered for a moment how the thing didn't fall off, and how the heat didn't take him out, but it's not like he could really judge his fashion choices when they were doing a similar thing. He thought his jacket looked cooler anyway. He quickly noticed that the guy was full of scratches and bruises everywhere on his neck and hands, even a few on his face: he wondered for a moment how he had gotten those, but honestly speaking, it wasn't his business.
The black haired guy squared down Felix for a moment, before taking a quick look at the Helioptile porched on his shoulder too, before muttering "...Sure.". Felix sat down with a smile, landing his comically full tray on the table, and setting Nova on the chair next to him. He handed a Gallette to his Pokémon, who began eating it a bit too quickly for his size, before turning over to the guy sitting right in front of him. He still hadn't muttered a word.
The blonde boy extended his arm towards him, in a friendly manner. "My name's Felix by the way, nice to meet you!" he esorted, waiting for any kind of response from the other student. The black haired man extended his arm a bit uncertainly, accepting Felix's handshake. "My name's Simon, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintence." he muttered too, before quickly retracting his hand to go back drinking his tea.
The small boy didn't really care, as of now the most important part of the day was finally in front of him: his breakfast.
He began to finally dig in all the food he had gotten: he chomped on a Lumiose Galette, the flavors instantly hitting his taste buds. It had been so long since he ate one. He remembered getting them every once in a while with his brother Atticus. Good ol' times. He kept tasting a bit of everything he had got: the Shalor Sables tasted amazing too, and the bread, butter and jam he improvised on the spot was quite the treat. As he quickly chomped down on everything, alongside Nova who periodically stole something to eat for himself, he noticed that Simon had not spoken once, if not for introducing himself. Sitting with a guy that didn't speak was pretty much like sitting alone, right?
He got to that strange cake he had gotten earlier, and took a bite. It was amazing, to say the least! He had never eaten anything so good. He quickly got a small piece which he handed to Nova, who shared his reaction. Maybe that was a good starting point to try and strike some conversation, since the black haired boy had chosen the same thing.
"This cake is pretty good, uh?" He tried to catch his attention, spekaing in a friendly tone. Simon nodded silently. "Old Gateau is heavenly." he said, before taking a sip out of his tea.
"That's the name? Never heard of it. Never saw one in Kalos either..." commented Felix, a bit bummed that such a good cake was nowhere to be found in his home region.
"They're pretty common in Sinnoh. Alola and Galar too, actually." replied Simon, in a calm and collected tone. Even if he didn't really seem that talkative, he really had a polite aura.
"Really? That's great! I hope they'll have it at the Academy too." wished Felix, as he ate the last piece of the cake in one bite. Simon looked at him a bit surprised, before coming out with a curious "You really are quite voracious."
"Breakfast's the most important meal of the day!" remarked the blonde boy, his Helioptile jumping back on his shoulders to support him. "My brother always used to say that! Eat the breakfast of a king, the lunch of a noble and the dinner of a peasant to have the healthiest life ever!" Simon sketched a little smile on his face. "I'd rather dine as a king, it'd help me fall asleep more peacefully." he said, as he quietly finished his own food. "A full stomach doesn't suffer any restless dreams." Felix shrugged, Nova copying him. "It's a matter of perspective. Why would you give up your dreams?"
"Body and mind are inherently united. If one isn't properly put to rest, its uneasiness will bleed in its brother, plunging both into despair." answered the black haired boy. Felix gave him a confused look, which Simon took a while to realize. "Oh! I'm sorry. I must have uselessly complicated the matter, I'm just saying that personally you need to eat before you sleep." he apologized to the blonde boy, a bit flustered. Felix just watched him even more confused, before chuckling a bit. "I guess you could be right, but it's an habit for me by this point!"
"Whatever puts the wind in your sails." replied Simon, as he began to get up from the table. "Already off to somewhere else?"
"We're about to arrive, aren't we? I'm desolate, but I really do have to depart. I left my belongings downstairs, I must make sure that everything is still in place." he excused himself, before he began to get away. "Until we meet again." Felix looked as Simon quickly left the room, leaving him sitting alone again. He shrugged once more, at this point he had almost finished his meal so it really wasn't an issue. And just like he had said, they indeed were almost at their destination.
The Ulysses had finally docked into Shinda's harbor, as a Conkeldurr and a few Machamps grabbed various ropes the crew threw them. The Pokémon workforce began to efficently tie the ropes over the metal pins of the wooden catwalk, and as soon as the ship was secured, the students were allowed to finally set foot onto the island where they would have spent the next nine months of their lives. The newly arrived kids began to quickly make their way off the ship's metal catwalk. A row of students and their Pokémons began to form, all unloading their belongings from the Ulysses. "Thanks for choosing us!" waved them off the captain, as a final gal finally made her way off the vessel. The catwalk was quickly retracted, and the island's Fighting type Pokémons were quick to undone all the knots that were holding the ship still. In a few minutes, the Ulysses was already backtracking off to a new location, leaving their ex-passengers on the pier.
The group was left a bit confused on the dock, before the Conkeldurr got their attention by clanking his stone pillars together. The hulking beast pointed towards the end of the dock, where a fleet of stone stairs brought to higher up the island's shore. With a warm expression, it began to walk away, expecting the students to stay behind. Soon, it ended up followed by a small group of less than twenty people and their Pokémons, dragging along all of their lugagges. The party was about to go up the staircase, when suddenly, the leader stopped, taking a look at the horizon.
A motorboat appeared, riding on the calm sea and speeding as fast as it could. In less than a minute, it approched the pier. "Told you we'd get here on time!" a loud voice came from the boat, seemingly proud of their driving. A catwalk was quickly lowered from the boat; the group watched as a small bunch of teenagers, along their companions and lugagges run off the ferry, some dizzy, some terrorized. "Thank you for choosing us!" said the same voice, before the ship retracted the metal board and made a quick turn around back into the horizon.
Felix was watching from his crowd, confused just as everyone around him, as the small party of newly arrived people made a sprint to catch up with them, their Pokémon holding their belongings right behind them. "WAIT! WAIT!" he heard shouting from their end of the pier, as they got closer and closer in a flash. Those few students finally caught up to the main party, all painting for the long sprint they had to endure. The Conkelldurr looked pretty amused, as it signaled everyone around him to keep going. Without discussing much, they finally made their way up the higher part of the shore.
Ahead of them, stood a nice stone path, leading to an imposing building in the distance. Fully fenced by imposing metal walls, the structure stood proud on the virgin grounds of Shinda: its white, concrete body shined under the sun, all the windows reflecting light. A tall, blue flag, with an heart design on it, waved in the clear party made its way towards the school: the pathaway was a few hundred meters long, it seemed like the Academy was built a bit hinterlanded to prevent having to build on the shores. Felix cut his way in front of the party, running trough the crowd and almost knocking over a poor Carnivine carrying a bag on his head. He docked down under the luggage a Togekiss was carrying, and unwillingly shoved a guy when he got back up. "Sorry, my bad!" he turned around to apologized, before slamming right into the back of a familiar face.
"I'm sorry agai- Oh, it's you!"
Simon was carrying all of his lugagges by himself, a Garchomp walking by his side free of any package. He could now see that he was wearing black chinos, kept up with a nice black belt with a silver buckle, and a slick pair of gray snickers with red highlights and a lightning bolt design on them. Despite bumping straight into him carrying all of that weight, he barely bulged.
"Hello. You should be more heedful of your surroundings. Mine is just advice, though." calmy stated the black haired boy, as he simply kept walking towards the school. Felix remained by his side, glazing his Garchomp. That such a reserved guy possessed such a Pokémon was quite the surprise. "My bad! I just wanted to get there earlier." justified himself Felix. "I see that your belongings were all there." he joked, noticing the excessive amount of baggage that Simon brought along. "That's correct." he replied.
The duo kept walking for a bit, in silence, as Felix kept throwing glimpses at the Garchomp. "...Can I pet him?" he asked, his eyes full of wonder at the sight of the Dragon Pokémon. "I'd strongly advice against that. Terra doesn't really enjoy being touched by strangers." denied him Simon. "I'm deeply sorry." The blonde boy looked a bit bummed, but understanding. "No, don't worry! I get it, some Pokémons have only eyes for their trainers."
The group kept walking towards the Academy, they were almost there. "Aren't you excited?" asked Felix, as they approached the gates of the school. "Obviously." nodded Simon, as he took in the sight of the building. They approached the gates, a golden insigna standing on the arch on top. "Welcome to Shynda Academy!" read outloud Felix, all excited at the prospect of finally beginning a new chapter of his life.
A loud mechanical hum filled the hair, as the gates began to open to let the students in. The Fighting type Pokémons leading the party walked in, being greeted by two people waiting for their arrival: a duo composed of a blonde man and a purple haired woman, dressed in what appeared to be a high end blue jackets, white shirts and tight black pants. Simon look dumbfounded for a moment, before quickly regaining his composure. Felix took notice of his reaction.
"...Do you know them, Simon?" he asked. He had to admit to himself that he was pretty oblivious to many celebrities due to his style of life. "The blonde gentleman is Percy Figh. I guess you never heard of him, if you're asking?" Felix shock his head.
"He's one of the best Electric type specialists in Galar. His battle prowess is otherworldly: he's relatively young, yet he already weilds Gygantamax and Terasilization like it's child's play. They say he might be allowed in the Major division of Gym Leaders by the next year, skipping the Minor division." explained Simon, harboring a deep respect from his tone.
"Oh! Are you a fan of his?"
"No, it's just trivia. The woman next to him is a stranger to me, for example. I imagine her being very strong too."
He was interruped by some loud barking: a Boltund, standing next to Percy, was getting the students attention. "Welcome, everyone!" the blonde man greeted the crowd, "we're glad to see you've all made it here."The purple haired woman stepped forward. "If you could please follow us, the principal and owners would love give you a proper welcome." The duo instruced the party of students to follow them, leading them inside. Felix quickly turned to see the gates of the Academy closing: they were finally there.
Inside school's ground, vegetation was rampant: the immense courtyard was filled to the brim with green: bushes, trees, abd flowers all adorned the area, and created contrast with the stone man-made path they were walking on, delimited by street lamps. The place provoked such a feeling inside Felix, that he couldn't help but smile wide. They proceeded forward, as he looked up in the sky to see various Bird Pokémons flying around: he was sure to have spotted a few Talonflames, it was like being at home back in Kalos.
Two large dirt fields stood forward, one on each side of their path: they appeared to be battle arenas judging by the spectator stands by each of them, and the healing machines he had seen in Pokémon Centers. The leading duo instruced the students to take place in the stands, assuring the tired group that they would have finally been able to get some rest after they had been properly welcomed into the school. Felix took place right in the middle of the crowd, Nova getting off his shoulder to jump onto his lap. Simon took place right next to him, but he didn't really look that talkative at the moment. He was more interested in the three men that had just come into view, appearing from nowhere. The blonde boy was more confused than anything, before noticing the Galarian Slowking right next to them, and assuming they had just Teleport-ed in.
The first man of the trio took a step forward, adjusting slightly his deep brown jacket. He was probably in his sixties, judging by his looks; he had grey well-kept hair, a slick well-maintained beard, and the face of a man that has seen quite some stuff, especially with those wide, imposing dark eyes. The slick pair of expensive pants, his immacolate low heel black shoes, and various gold rings made his look really come together.
The second man of the trio looked much, much younger, probably still in his late twenties. He was wearing a very slightly worn green shirt, with pale pants kept up with a black belt and black boots. His dark hair was kept in a short fade, and judging by his face, he could barely keep his enthusiasm in. He followed the first man, and handed him a microphone. The elder slightly touched the tip and a slight screech propagated trough the air. "Test, test. It works, good."
The first man began speaking.
"Welcome, everyone. It is with great pleasure that we welcome you at Shynda Academy. Some of you probably recognize me already..."
"You do?" whispered Felix to Simon, a bit embarassed as he had absolutely no idea who that man was. "Yes. He's-"
"...But for those who don't, my name's Hector Hames. I've been a Champion in Kanto, Sinnoh and Alola; I'm a certified Champion in Paldea, and I'm in the top 10 for the highest streak in Single Battles of the Battle Tree, standing at 908. I'll be your Principal: I hope we'll enjoy each other's company for the time being." the old man proudly announced, sparkling a reaction of wonder and surprise from the students that were listening.
"...Hector Hames." said to Felix the black haired boy, among the chatter. "It's bizzare, he forgot an important detail."
"That being?" asked Felix, that was already going bonkers for having such a legendary trainer right in front of his eyes.
"He holds the highest streak for Multi Battles. Around 600, if my memory isn't playing tricks." declared the more informed Simon, looking in awe at the man. "Why would he leave that out?" wondered Felix outloud. Forgetting your greatest feat seemed kind of strange.
Hector signaled the students to calm down with a quick gesture. "Order, Order. Thanks. Anyway, as I was saying, it's a pleasure to welcome you all in our prestigious Academy. We know the voyage might have been a bit rough for some of you, but taking you all from all over the was quite the challenge; we're glad you made it all here safely. We know you're tired, don't worry, in about five minutes you'll get to rest." he reassured the students, which reacted by expressing general relief.
"Before that, though, we wanted to have a quick heart to heart. You're here because our examinators found talent in each one of you, a flame of ambition that we intend to nurture to its brightest. At the end of this four years together, you'll leave this place changed, with a better understanding of what truly makes a Trainer strong. We all have high hopes in you." Another loud chatter emerged from the students, which was quickly silenced again by the Principal.
"Now, a word from the Academy's owners. An applause for Judiot Anter." announced Hector, as he took a step back to shift the attention to the man by his side. The owner quickly made sure that his microphone worked, before he began to speak.
"Hello, everyone! Thank you for begin here. My name's Judiot, you all don't know me, eh eh." he tried to joke, but it fell pretty flat. "Anyway! I'm one of the owners, it's a pleasure to meet you all. This Academy was born out of a childhood dream of mine, I hope you'll enjoy this place as the ten years old Judiot would had. I expect the best out of all of you, so don't disappoint me, alright?" he tried to get a recation from the crowd again, but once again, no one said anything. Felix thought it had to he pretty demoralizing.
"...I see, you're tired. Let's cut it short, shall we? Before we finish, tho, I want to thank the man that made this all possible." The third man of the group took a step forward. He wore a luxurious looking white shirt, with brown shorts and a pair of expensive short heeled black shoes. He had an old styled hat that covered his head, from which a few strands of white hair poked out. A pair of sunglasses hid his eyes, but left his wrinkled face exposed, and showed his pretty long beard. Judiot handed him his microphone. That man needed no introduction, everyone there knew who he was.
"Thank you, Judiot." He took a quick look at the students, before uttering "Yeah, you're tired. Go have some rest."
Hector took the lead again. "Before we depart, and leave you in the hands of our Security force, let's address a few quick things. Classes begin tomorrow, this afternoon we'll have a tour of the school for whoever cares to join. There's a curfew after midnight, don't go sneak around afterhours. Pokémons are allowed in all facilities except classes, unless explicitly allowed. To go visit the Wild zone you need a signed permit, don't go outside without authorization. All meals are in the cafeteria, eight AM for breakfast, one PM for lunch, and nine PM for dinner."
"Some good news." Joked Felix.
Hector took a look at the crowd, judging their fashion choices. "And about your uniforms-"
"Uniforms are dumb. Be yourselves." cut him off Eliot. The principal was surprised, but quikly recomposed himself. "...Be yourselfs. If you have any questions, you'll find me in my office. Enjoy the rest of the day, guys."
The students quickly got up their seats, off the stands, and back in the field. Some tried to rush Eliot to ask him stuff, but the Slowking teleported the owners and principal away before they could do anything. "Alright, everyone! Follow us!" instruced the Security duo, as they waved their hands to gain the students attention. Everyone left the field, following the guards back to the stone pathaway and straight to the Academy's entrance.
"All inside, come on!" waved Percy, as he made sure that no kid nor Pokémon remained outside. Felix took his time, choosing to enter last. He watched over the path they had taken already, outside the gates, towards the sea. He was finally leaving everything behind. His new life was beginning. "I'll make you proud, Atticus!" he talked outloud, before he noticed that the gates of the school were opening again.
He squinted his eyes, to notice that a new party of people were making their way towards the school, Pokémons holding luggages with them. He looked at that mysterious group, before he heard someone scolding him from behind. "Hey, kid! You with the Helioptile!" He turned, to see that the purple haired woman was calling him to come inside, since everyone else was already. "Come on!"
"Yeah, sorry!" he apologized as he quickly turned, running inside. Passed the large doors, he finally entered the school. Everything's inside the entrance was of an intense candid white: the roof was made of glass, allowing for natural light to serve as illumanation. He began to move over the checkered floor, taking in all the decorations: maps of regions on the walls, a pair of Dragonite statutes right in front of him, various certificates regarding people he had never heard of. He passed an empty notice board, and rejoined his fellow students, all regrouped by Percy. "Alright, everone! The dorm hall is on your left. Every door has a tag that reads your names, they are all unlocked. There's a pair of keys for everybody inside your rooms. Search for your rooms, go!"
The crowd turned left, being met with a hall that went on for a bit before turning right. The group found itself in the dorm hall: on their left, there were around 15 doors, all reasonably spaced between each other, while on their left stood, intermittently, windows that opened a view on the green area of the Academy. All the students rushed forwards, searching for their names on the tags hanged outside the doors. Quite a few trios of girls formed quickly outside the first doors, while the boys all had to keep moving forwards. Felix quickly understood that the male half was ahead.
He kept walking trough the comically long hall: now boys were forming trios, which told him he was in the right place. He began to read the tags, moving from door to door, looking for his name. The first few led to no success; after another pair, he finally found the one bearing his name.

He took a look around, searching for his potential new roommates, but he instead catched the sight of Simon stopping two doors away from his. He was surprised to see one of his roommates was the Lokix's trainer from the ship. The black haired boy noticed that Felix was looking and timidly waved a "bye", which the blonde boy barely responded to: he was much too focused on the enormus Lokix carrying luggages to properly wave him back.
"And you are?"
"-Ah!"
He jolted and turned around, Nova almost falling from his shoulder by the scare. Standing behind him stood a boy around his age. He was barely taller than Felix, with a cloud of wavy, lavender hair that almost looked like cotton candy: just the sight made the Kalossian's boy stomach grumble. He had just a sprinkle of freckles around his nose and cheeks, and with those striking teal eyes, he had quite the charm.
He wore a pastel pink cardigan that was obviously oversized for his slender build: it was full of graphics of a shiny Azumarill. He had light brown cargo shorts, adorned with patches of various Fairy type Pokémons: Florges, Whimsicott, and a Dedenne all adorned that pair of pants. He also had a nice pair of pink sneakers for his footwear. He was also full of accessories: a nice pair of star-shaped earrings dangled from his ears, and a bracelet full of mini-Pokéballs and Fairy-themed charms (such as the Fairy type simbol, a moon, and so on) adorned his right wrist.
That fellow was accompanied by a Togekiss, floating slightly above his head holding what looked like an heavy luggage. The whimsical looking boy was just carrying around a trolley.
"...Is everyrhing alright?" he asked, looking a bit worried over Felix's well-being, his Togekiss alongside him. "Ah! No, no, sorry, you scared me!" blurted out Felix, apologizing for the inconvenience. "I'm Felix, anyways."
"Eldan, it's nice to meet you." introduced himself the lavender haired student. "And this over here is Celestia." he added, pointing at his Togekiss, which greeted the blonde boy and his Helioptile with a friendly cry. "Oh! This is Nova." recirpocated Felix, imtorducing his own companion. "I didn't see you on my ship. Where are you from?" asked Eldan, instantly trying to get to know him. Felix was pretty happy that his roommate was pretty talkative compared to the much more silent Simon.
"I'm from Kalos! I didn't see you on my ship either." he answered. "Oh, that explains it. I'm from Galar, we had different ferries." guessed Eldan, his Togekiss supporting him by nodding. "Oh, so you came from that speeding one?'
"You could say so! Getting here was disastrous!" laughed out loud the Galarian boy, "The ship came late, and the captain broke at least a few speed limits to get here in time. Let's just say our journey here was a bit lively."
"That sounds terrible..."
"Nah, I found it pretty funny. I had to comfort a girl crying tho, poor lady. I think her name was Elise?" he wondered outloud. "I don't think that matters. Want to see our room?" asked Felix. "We're missing our last roommate, but I don't think he's gonna mind if we check without him, right?"
The duo opened the door, being greeted by the sight of their new living quarters. The white room was absurdity spacious, with three comfy looking beds on each side of the room; one even had a window pointing outside, showing the green plains and deep blue sea. Each bed was right next to a wooden desk with a small lamp and a pair of keys on each, and some comfy looking chairs to sit. A big wardrobe stood by the entrance, spacious enough for three people to keep all their clothes in. A door lead to a pretty big bathroom, which Eldan instantly entered without hesitation. Felix instead rushed the window bed, jumping on top and bouncing a bit, Nova joining him. It was a real bed, and it was so comfy!
"Felix, look!" called him over from the bathroom Eldan. The blondie got up and ran over to the room, entering. The bathroom was all blue, invoking such a feeling of piece. They had a spacious shower, a nice looking toilet, a bidet, a big sink with a few drawers to hold items, and the whimsical boy was pointing at a washing machine and dryer in the corner. "We have a washing machine, we can make our own laundry! That's insane!" pointed out Eldan, all excited at the autonomy the Academy was offering. Felix shared a bit of his enthusiasm, but honestly, he had no idea how to do laundry. He always washed his clothes down by a river, so this was quite the new experience.
The duo retrieved each their own pair of keys, and left the third on the last desk for their roommate, who still hadn't show up. "What do you think he's doing?" asked Eldan, as Felix was busy unpacking his few belongings from his bag. "I don't know, really. Mayb-" he tried to say, before a loud knock on the door diverted their attention.
"Hello! Is anyone inside!?" A loud voice came from outside the door, sounding pretty impatient and excited. Eldan got up from his own unpacking and walked over to the door, revealing a pretty short boy waiting outside with a Drakloak holding a baggage for him. The little guy looked pretty wirey and lean, with fluffly, blonde hair, blue eyes and a ton of freckles all over his face.
He was wearing quite the athletic outfit: a pretty tight black shirt, with white compression shorts stopping on his knees and athletic shoes. He also had a flowing pink scarf and a pretty scary looking sheathed katana on his back, which gave both Felix and Eldan chills until they realized it was a simple wooden sword.
The boy made himself home instantly, entering the room without much invite and taking a look around. His Drakloak dropped the luggage she was holding on the ground, before disappearing from sight altogether. "I guess you either are my roommates, or enemy spies trying to eliminate me out of fear I'll become the best ninja ever!" he announced, as he took out his sword and took a fighting stance. "En garde!"
Eldan and Felix both took a glance at each other, quite confused, before going back to looking at the boy holding a wooden sword. "...We're your roommates. Please don't hurt us." Calmy stated the wavy haired boy, defusing the situation. The ninja boy sheathed back his sword, before proceededing towards one on the beds next to the walls. He threw his luggage on top, before turning to his new roommates, now with a newly found mischievous smile on his face. "My name's Leo, the greatest ninja battler the world will ever seen!" he proudly stated posing dramatically, his Drakloak reappearing wrapped around his body, posing with her owner.
While Felix was still more confused than anything, Eldan was looking in amusement at his ninja roommate. "You're quite the fellow." he commented on Leo, before extending his arm for a frendly hand shake. "I'm Eldan."
"It's nice to meet you, fairy-boy!" answered Leo, as he lively shook his hand. His Drakloak reached the other hand with her tail, making a double hand shake to Eldan's surprise. He reacted with a simple "Oh boy.", before the ninja and his Pokémon borh left hold of his hands. "And you are?" he turned over to Felix, who was watching all dazed. The blonde boy was snapped out by his Helioptile, who slightly shook his head to make him realized his roommate was talking to him. "-Woh! Uh, I'm Felix! Nice to meet you!" he blurted out wirhout thinking. Leo and his Drakloak reserved the same treatment to him; they also both shook Nova's hands, to the Pokémon's surprise.
"Alright, let's set things clear, shall we?" instantly took the lead Leo, as he pulled closer both Eldan and Felix. "I'm getting the bed next to the wall!"
"Fine by me." answered the lavender haired boy, "Felix?"
"It's fine, I'm just happy with a bed."
"I can leave you the window bed."
"Yeah! That side's too long for my bar. Pull-ups don't to themselves, you know?"
"...You have a bar for pull-ups?" wondered aloud Felix. "Of course! A ninja needs to train at all times! Also, you've got no problems if I take around half the wardrobe for my stuff, right?"
"...What?"
"Rocket!"
The Drakloak unwrapped from Leo's body, jolting for his big luggage on the bed. She opened the bag and put it outside down: the ninja's roommates watched in horror as cardboard, all kind wooden tools, a big cloud of powder and homemade gym equipment flew out, all landing on the floor with a loud thump. "See? I need a place to put my stuff!"
"...What are you doing with all that?" wondered Eldan. "You look quite dedicated."
"Practicing, of course! The ninja's way is paved with struggles, I can never be caught lacking! Otherwise that jerk of Mary may outninja me again!"
"...Who's Mary?" asked Eldan, surprised at the boy's dedication. "...Is he here with you?"
"...There's more of you?" blurted out Felix.
"No, that jerk's still in the Sevii Islands!" explained Leo. While the Kalossian student didn't even notice, Eldan istantly picked up that the ninja was slightly blushing. "Wait, you're from Kanto? When did you get here? I though our ferries only covered Sinnoh, Kalos and Paldea." asked Felix, thinking about here for a moment. "Did you just arrive?"
"Yeah! I've been traveling for two days! They picked me up in Hoenn!" explained Leo.
"Oh, right! I saw your group arrive!" remembered the blonde boy.
"That explains it." closed the question Eldan. "Anyway, it's fine by me. I'll leave my clothes in my trolley."
"Yeah, me too." agreed Felix. Not like he really had that many clothes, but he didn't want to feel left out.
"Perfect! I like that attitude! I feel like the three of us gonna make quite the squad!"
