Chapter 2: First Day at Phantom Guild

I wake up at the morning stretched and went to the living room where Totomaru was already making breakfast i gave him good morning and he did the same i helped in setting up the table and we ate and spoke "well today is your first day i intend to show the ropes and about working jobs" explained Totomaru i reply "sure, anything in particular that i should know now ?" he start to think for a few moments and then he replies "well the jobs often requires to talk to a client and perform the task that they asked from you besides that you cannot get S class jobs without an S class ranking in the guild" i nodded on his explanation and we finished the breakfast and went into town reaching the guild.
We went to quest board were he grabbed two different jobs one was a monster slaying job and another was a job of retrieving some herbs turning around he spoke "I grabbed this jobs, i will accompany you today to see your capabilities and show you the ropes of job requests, they are at the same area and we should be able to finish both today", i responded "sure, i fine with this", he complemented with "this jobs you take charge with me helping and teaching what skills you need" i nodded to his explanation and saw the jobs both clients are asking to go to the forest that i wake up on, the slaying job is to kill a giant anaconda and the second is to find 8 flowers named Dragon's Tongue he went to the receptionist to confirm.
After seeing the jobs we went to the forest the flowers weren't difficult to track down, just by paying attention to the surroundings it was clear that plenty were around, i asked if i needed to remove in some specific way and he said "no" so i removed the flowers as i searched for the monster, i asked with he new ways to track monsters and he showed me how track, 2 hours later i found the anaconda i used "Crystal God Bellow" to trap the massive snake in place jumping up and using "Crystal God Axe" bring down on it head and chopping it down.
We brought the body and the flowers out. We gave the body to the guards and received the reward I gave most to Totomaru to pay back for the clothes and he gave me the reward of the flower so I could start storing money to get my own place. I noticed something interesting: he enjoys teaching his skills, he was very enthusiastic about teaching me how to track.
After collecting the rewards we went to the guild hall and ate lunch, he continued explaining about monster tracking showing examples and explaining about different species and how to track from his experiences, I requested later to more classes on tracking and he seems enthusiastic about it.
In the afternoon I went to train and meditate to improve my skills and magic. Totomaru joined me in the training. He was very helpful in training my dodging skills with his flames. He made a great sparring partner, often stating advantages and disadvantages and commenting on his opinions about how I fight.
We went to the guild again to get dinner until rain started falling out of nowhere we rushed inside, Totomaru said "Juvia must be inside" I asked "who is Juvia ?" He said "A member of the element four, a group of S class wizards, the members are me, Juvia, Aria and Sol, another S class is Gajeel that you already met". "So i got lucky and met two big shots already" i replied, Totomaru gave a small laugh.
Inside of the guild we were a lightly wet by the sudden rain, walking to the bar Totomaru guided towards a table where Juvia and Aria where he sits down and i sat next to him he presented the to me Juvia was a blue haired woman with a gloomy expression an clothes caring an umbrella and a doll with her, Aria was a big guy rectangular body shape that wears a blindfold. Totomaru asked "It's unusual for you two to sit together, besides me is the new member of the guild Altair". "Hi" I replied Juvia looks uninterested, Aria said "Ow you must be the new member that squared against Gajeel a pleasure, a job came, I decided to show it to the master and he agreed with me and decided for the elemental 4 to take this S class job".
Totomaru started reading the job description after a moment he said "sorry Altair I would like to help you a little more, but the Master requested us to work this job", looking at me with some guilt in his eyes, "it is fine you were already helpful", Aria suddenly was crying "such a sorrowful display of mentorship", looking annoyed I asked "Are going back or staying to speak about the job with them ?" "It should be fine discussing tomorrow" Totomaru got up and left with me.
We walked back to his apartment, all the time Totomaru looked lost in thought, finally I got tired of this behavior and asked "you look lost in thought, what's up with that ?" Totomaru turned his face and said "I don't think I have to tell you to be careful, I used to have a mentor that saved me whenever I got carless. I was just remembering the past". Observing his face you could see the pain in his eyes, I understood what he ment, something happened to his mentor.
Arriving at the apartment he thrown something in my direction, I caught in the air "this is a spare key use the apartment while i am away until you can get your own place" spoke Totomaru, "thanks, that is very helpful" we went to sleep, i woke up in the morning the next day and a note in the table already informed that Totomaru left for his job, stretching I took a bath and change my clothes and left for the guild.
