It was a nice day, the sun was shining there was no clouds in site and Gohan was preparing for possibly the scariest question of his life. Today was the day he was going to ask Videl to marry him.
"How do I look mom?" Gohan asked Chi-Chi as he walked down the stairs.
"You look nice sweetie, why you dressed up so nicely is there a special occasion?" asked Chi-Chi with a sense of confusion.
"I going out with Videl later today." replied Gohan anxiously.
Gohan was dressed nicely wearing a pair of grey slacks with a white shirt and a navy blue vest overtop of it.
A few hours later Gohan had made his way over to his girlfriend Videl's house to pick her up.
"Hello, Videl are you there!" asked Gohan as he knocked on the door to the Satan household.
"Yes ill be down in just a moment." replied Videl frantically as she got ready.
A few moments passed and Videl had made her way to the door.
"Hi there handsome." Videl said smiling as she let Gohan into the house.
Gohan grinned, stepping inside and glancing at her. "Hey, you look incredible," he said, noticing her outfit. "You ready for tonight?"
Videl smiled back, feeling excited. "Thanks. Yeah, I think so, but you still haven't told me where we're going."
Gohan chuckled, enjoying the mystery. "That's because it's a surprise. I wanted to do something special."
Videl crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow playfully. "A surprise, huh? You're not usually the secretive type, Gohan. What's going on?"
He shrugged, trying to play it cool but unable to hide his excitement. "You'll see. Just trust me."
Videl laughed softly, shaking her head. "Okay, okay. I guess I can trust you with this. But I'll get it out of you eventually."
Gohan smiled, grabbing her jacket off the rack and holding it out for her. "Not tonight you won't. But I promise, you're going to love it."
She slipped into her jacket, feeling a flutter of anticipation. "Well, now you've got me curious."
"Are you ready to go Vi?" Gohan asked Videl standing in the living room.
"Not quite yet just a few more minutes" Videl replied.
"Alright all ready." exclaimed Videl as she went to hug Gohan.
"See you later Dad" She said to her father as her and Gohan left for their date.
Gohan and Videl spent the afternoon walking around Satan City enjoying themselves. They spent time shopping, enjoying a nice lunch at a cozy cafe, and even taking a leisurely stroll through the local park. As the sun began to set, Gohan felt his nerves starting to build. He knew the perfect spot to pop the question was just ahead.
"Have you enjoyed today VI?" Gohan asked as they made their way to the central water fountain.
They sit on a bench near the fountain and discuss the events of the day
Videl smiled warmly at Gohan, her eyes twinkling with affection. "It's been absolutely wonderful, Gohan. I always enjoy our time together, but today feels extra special somehow." She leaned her head on his shoulder, watching the last rays of sunlight dance across the fountain's sparkling water. "Thank you for such a perfect day."
"You welcome Vi." said Gohan happily.
"There is one more thing though" Gohan mumbled nervously.
Gohan took a deep breath, his heart racing with anticipation. He reached into his pocket, feeling the small velvet box that held the ring he had carefully chosen. With trembling hands, he pulled out the box and got down on one knee in front of Videl, whose eyes widened in surprise.
"Videl I've wanted to do this for a while now, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" asked Gohan.
There was tears filling both of their faces, as Videl's eyes sparkled with joy and excitement. She threw her arms around Gohan, hugging him tightly.
"Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you, Gohan!" Videl exclaimed, her voice filled with happiness. She pulled back slightly, looking into his eyes with a radiant smile.
"I guess we need to go tell our folks now don't we." said Videl her face still filled with tears of joy.
"I guess so" replied Gohan just as emotional as his new fiancé.
The newly engaged couple filled with joy proceeded to make their way back to Gohan's place to break the news to his parents.
15 minutes later…
Arriving back at his home Gohan opens the door saying "Mom, Dad are you home".
"Yes we are sweetie" replied Chi-Chi as she exited from the kitchen Goku entering the room shortly after.
Gohan taking a deep breath and looking back at Videl announced to his parents "Were getting married!" his words filled with joy.
Goku's eyes widened in surprise, and then a broad, toothy grin spread across his face. "Wow, Gohan! That's amazing!" he exclaimed, leaping to his feet. "I knew you two were close, but this is great news!"
Chi-Chi, on the other hand, gasped, her hands flying to her mouth as her eyes filled with happy tears. "Oh, my baby!" she cried, rushing over to hug Gohan and Videl. "You're all grown up, and now... now you're getting married!" She pulled Videl into a warm embrace. "You better take care of him, dear!"
Videl smiled, feeling the warmth of Chi-Chi's approval, and squeezed Gohan's hand. "I promise I will."
Gohan chuckled, feeling a mixture of relief and happiness wash over him. "Thanks, Mom. And don't worry, I'll take care of her too."
"You better." responded Chi-Chi snarkily.
And that's where I am going to leave off for the first chapter.
Like I said this is my first time writing something of this style so please leave any suggestions on where I could improve.
I don't know when I am going to have more chapters of this story out but I want to make more.
I also did have some help coming up with idea at certain areas where I was getting stuck so thanks peoples.
