Abafar, two miles west of Pons Dora
The recon group landed and gathered around Rex. Rex cleared his throat and said, "Alright men our job is to figure out what the empire is planning and report back. There is a slight problem with that though, I will let Breakthrough explain it." He motioned with his hand and Breakthrough stepped forward. Breakthrough turned to his Captain and said, "Thanks Captain. We have picked up coded imperial communications and it seems they are phasing our brothers out. This is just another thing they will answer for. We have been working around the clock and we have started to produce Holographic Disguise Matrices. We only have enough for a few squads at the moment but these also allow you to sound like a variety of people. Use the dials to switch the filter to human male and random. After we confirm what they are doing here we report back to Polis Massa and await further instructions. While you are in disguise use the stormtrooper designation. This is TK and whatever number under five million. Is everyone clear on the plan?"
The two platoons nodded in agreement and started configuring their matrices. Within a few minutes the clearing was filled with the holographic projection of stormtroopers. Rex turned to Embo and said, "Alright, we need a distraction. Activate your matrix and go to the edge of a clearing. Start firing at an oncoming patrol so we can start knocking them out and replacing them." Embo nodded and ran off into the trees. Rex and Cody turned to the rest of the troopers and motioned for them to hide within the trees. They all got the message and disappeared from sight.
Edge of Pons Dora
An imperial officer was leading a patrol around the perimeter of the city. Their main force was guarding the Rhydonium operation but, they still needed to keep order within the city. They were passing the western gate of the city when multiple blaster bolts peppered the ground around them. They scattered and looked around. They saw a tenticled parwan wearing a long cloak. He was holding a sniper rifle and continued to fire at them. The officer yelled for the troopers to "Capture that individual at all costs, he will pay for assaulting an imperial officer!" The troopers rushed into action as the parwan jumped from the city wall and fell into a series of trees. The stormtroopers followed him past a large section of trees. Suddenly, the parwan picked up speed and disappeared among the tree's. The sergeant held out his fist, the stormtroopers stopped and kept their weapons at low ready. The sergeant told them to "Keep a close eye out. He couldn't just disappear, he's around here somewhere." After he finished saying that, there was a hail of stun bolts and the entire patrol dropped to the ground.
The troopers of the 501st ran from the trees and started stripping the soldiers of their supplies. They relieved the enemy soldiers of their weapons, ripped out their communication devices, and destroyed their trackers. They tied up the soldiers and made their way back to the city. Kix ran up to the wounded officer and started patching him up. The officer demanded to know what happened. Breakthrough ran up and said, "TK-32723 reporting sir. The attempted assassin is dead. He was angry at the peace the Empire has brought and attempted to kill an officer of our military. Before he was killed he hinted at a larger attack force. We need to prepare for that possibility sir." The officer grunted at the application of a bacta patch and said, "Understood, return to the mining facility and guard the Rhydonium. The empire needs that fuel for our ships." The 501st troopers saluted and marched toward the center of town.The officer grumbled about ungrateful civilian scum and rode off on a BARC speeder. As they were marching Rex contacted Polis Massa and informed them of the situation. Mace thought hard about what actions needed to be taken and said, "We need to figure out any weaknesses the fuel has, bring back all the samples you can and destroy the mining operation. If we can slow down the empires efforts than all the better."
Rex communicated the plan to his team and then called Embo's frequency. Embo clicked the receiver and Rex said, "Nice work, keep your same disguise and come to the center of town. Bring a high powered mobile EMP device, we need another distraction and we need to make sure the Empire can't call for reinforcements." Embo said, "It will be done." Rex nodded to his men as they marched and made their way to the mining operation. They arrived and reported to an Imperial Captain. Rex told him the story and said " The Lieutenant told us to report back here for guard duty." The Captain nodded and said, "Very well, start patrolling the southside of the platform." Rex saluted and the two platoons marched over to wait for Embo's signal. After about twenty minutes they heard static from their comms. Luckily, their disguises were immune to the E.M.P. They saw Embo open fire from the top of a tower and they sprang into action. They made sure they were behind the company of stormtroopers and opened fire. They didn't want to kill sentient life forms but in a battle it was life and death. The stormtroopers realized their own soldiers were shooting at them and most turned to engage this new threat.
The 501st troopers had years of experience and engaged the enemy. They were able to take down stormtroopers with nearly every shot. They worked as a cohesive unit and couldn't be beaten. Embo had finished dispatching all his enemies and worked with the 501st in a pincer attack. The storm troopers couldn't focus when they were being shot at from both sides. After an intense firefight the 501st had finally wiped out the imperials. They couldn't stick around and got right to work. They planted timed explosives on the mining machines and loaded up the Rhydonium onto hovercraft platforms. Rex contacted Kix and Breakthrough so they could fly the ship over and start loading the supplies. Once the Rhydonium had been loaded and the platform had been stripped of all military supplies, they picked up Embo and took off. Rex sat in the back with Cody and held up the detonator. He smirked and asked, "Would you care to do the honors, Cody?" Cody chuckled and said, "Don't mind if I do." He pushed the button as they left the city. A huge explosion destroyed the mining equipment and any hope of mining in the future. The N.G.R. I-TS roared into outer orbit. Breakthrough and Jesse were sitting in the pilot and co-pilot seat respectively. Jesse smiled at Breakthrough and said, "Another successful mission man. Let's go home." Breakthrough nodded and hit the hyperdrive
