Alt title: Boundaries set, don't break them.

Like I said, the comments, they are my fuel. You guys saying what you like, causes me to add more of that to the story. Saying what you don't like, constructively, allows me to make a better chapter.

Like the last one.

.

Samejake: Thank you! I tried to include as much double speak as I could in the interaction.

GideonBlackthorn: No, Cyril is more or less an introvert. And as such, had few friends. So the friends he does have, he tends to let them get away with more than he would let regular people get way with. It's just, how he is. Sort of like

"Sup bitch!" Stanger says

"Fuck off." Cyril replies

And

"Sup bitch!" Friend says

"Hey, what's up?" Cyril replies

It's just how he is.

YeTianshi: The issue is that Qrow has no problem making himself the bad guy to get results. He just didn't expect any backlash to fall on Ruby for it.

BunkerfreakHD: I've been posting about once every two days. So, just keep checking.

A Dancing Leaf: Cyril is a bit of a passive person. Only ever getting progressive when pushed. It's just that he's had a lot to adjust to. And people were seeing his constant hesitance and go with the flow attitude as him being weak willed. He's not, it's just a matter of what buttons get pushed.

cassnova5424: Qrow is getting pegged by karma, though, nah I'm not gonna say that.

Eseer: Yeah, RWBY is full of color puns. It's, kinda their gimmick. Like, Weiss Schnee, is German for Snow White, the character she's based on. And Jacques Schnee, was Jacques Gele before he married Willow and took her last name. Jacques Gele, is French for Jack Frost. And that's just what I can say off the top of my head.

Anyumaaka: He found a lot of things amusing at first. It's when they kept happening that they started pushing.

Lenly Morgan: Um, no. Those are spoilers I cannot give freely.

Cyril Leon POV

.

Waiting in the lobby of the CCT, I can't help but get ideas as I look around the place. It's such a mix of high and low tech. Like, the long range communication is very much in its infancy. And the public computers are ancient looking by modern earth standards. But the employee computers are sci-fi, holographic screens and light up keyboards.

It's, odd. And it brings me to thinking about their energy source. Dust.

Is that all they have? I mean, I know they don't use fossil fuels. The air is too clean smelling for that. But they have plastic. So they must have oil.

Do they have other forms of energy? Coal, solar, wind, hydro.

Hand crank?

Pulling out my scroll, I decide to do some-

Holy crap the reception here is batshit good. No wonder the outside is full of people just on their devices.

Anyway! Doing some deep scrolling. I look up, solar power. And get a bunch of documents going into detail on how the sun works, but nothing in regards to renewable energy.

Wind power, I get air dust. Any further attempts gets me windmills and grain.

Searching hydroelectricity gets me nothing. Best I could find is water mills and the basics of how they're used in villages to help with logging.

So, I search renewable energy.

Five, results. And a tag asking if I meant, new energy.

'Are people really so reliant on dust that they haven't developed any further technologies in energy?' I think worryingly. 'Like, there isn't even steam power?'

As I look into the specifics of generators here, I see they're mostly the same as what I remember from middle school science. With a few exceptions here and there. All to change out the converter systems to use dust based energy as opposed to, anything else. I don't know enough to tell how exactly it's different. Just that it is.

You know, I bet I could make the basics of a solar panel if I tried. I know they need very specific paneling. But my sixth grade science teacher showed us how you can get the same result from a series of mirrors and glass panes.

Wind and water turbines are just a matter of making a hand crank. Copper and magnets are the main things I need. I don't know how it works mind you, I just remember how to build a hand crank generator from my dad.

Searching magnets, gets me promising results. They're about as common here as they are on Earth. Just, used less in electronics.

Dust has really handheld these people. Like, I get it. With how dangerous life is, one person having a really bad day can attract Grimm and ruin a village through a spiral of bad events lowering people's mood. So, they never had the time to dedicate to finding new energy sources when dust is so easy and versatile with no pollution caused by using it. There was never a true need to find alternatives, or the time to do so.

But, dust, is nonrenewable. And from what I'm reading, if it wasn't for a trade deal the SDC made with Menagerie, prices would be up by twelve percent on the low estimate.

They're running out of dust that's easy to reach.

I'm going to abuse the fuck out of this.

"Cyril." I hear Weiss say as she exits the comms rooms.

"Oh, hey." I say as I put my phone, scroll away. "Everything good?"

Looking to her, I'm surprised by the small smile on her face. One she quickly hides, before it breaks through again.

"I take it, everything went well then?" I ask.

"What would give you that impression?" She says before getting her smile back under control.

"Call it intuition." I say as I bring a hand up to pat her head, bringing the smile back for as long as I do so.

The moment I stop. Weiss returns to her usual glare.

"My talk with my father went as well as I could hope." She says evenly as she begins heading for the exit. "There are some events coming up that I've been invited to, a few of them he requires me to attend."

Following behind her, I get the sense she's not telling me everything.

"That's it?" I ask as I step in time beside her.

"There were, a few other things." She says as we leave, her eyes looking to the side to avoid my gaze. "But none I feel worth bringing up right now."

That's not odd.

Cyril Leon POV

.

Cleaning off my toothbrush and putting it in one of those plastic protector caps. I stare myself down in the mirror as I think.

I somehow got Jacques's approval to date Weiss. Not sure how, but I did. And Weiss has been, odd. In a happy, she's trying not to smile but she's smiling and it's weird because you almost never see her smile. Kind of way.

On top of that, I need to decide whether or not I want to make my magic public, or keep it secret. From the girls' reactions, magic is an openly known, if poorly understood thing. And looking it up tells me pretty much just that. Hell, two of the four Maidens are public figures. They're called maidens, but they're not given seasonal designations. Hell, people aren't even aware of any such thing. The most I could find is that they appear at random. Young girls will just, poof, have magic. The most ever known to be around at a time is four, and that's all anyone really knows.

'So the question is, do I stop hiding?' I ask myself. 'With magic being public knowledge, I, can only really see myself hindering myself if I keep it hidden.'

It's then that I hear a soft knock on the door. Surprising me in a pleasant way.

"Who is it?" I ask, turning to the door.

"Me." I hear Ruby's voice. "Can I, can I come in?"

She did ask first. And I'm not really doing anything so- fuck it.

"Sure." I say as I lean back on the counter.

The door cracks open as Ruby slips in and quietly closes it behind her. Looking to me with a shy blush as her ears splay back. Looking up at me uncertainly as she fidgets in place.

"Yes?" I ask the girl three feet in front of me.

"I, just wanted to say I'm sorry." She says. "Again, for everything. I, should've paid better attention."

"And I should've spoken up when something upset me." I say, accepting her apology. "Like I said Ruby, I'm willing to let it slide, so long as it doesn't repeat."

I know I'm being a bit lenient here. But, I'm tired, stressed, and there's not much point in dragging this issue out further.

As long as she actually starts respecting my boundaries.

She develops a soft smile at my words. Before her blush comes back in full force.

"Um, since that's, covered. I was um, was wondering if, is we could. We, um." She mumbles and stutters.

I, have an idea where this is going. And, I'm still mad, but, at the same time. A cute girl that I like is throwing herself at me. And, I already made my boundaries clear, and she seems to be respecting them.

"Ruby." I say softly as I walk forward, causing her to freeze. "Do you-"

"I wanna makeout with you!" Ruby spits out before covering her mouth with both hands out of embarrassment.

"Sure." I say easily. "We can kiss."

"Really?" She squeaks softly.

"If you want." I smile, finding her shy enthusiasm to be, well adorable.

She nods her head quickly. Closing her eyes as she removes her hands from her face.

Stepping forward, I bring a hand to her cheek. Cupping her face as she opens her eyes. She smiles gently as she brings a hand up to hold mine. Rubbing her face against my palm.

Without further stalling. I lean down and capture her lips in a soft kiss. One she returns easily.

After a few seconds we part. Ruby blushing softly as she smiles.

"That, was nice." She says in a gentle tone. "If, if you want we can go further, just a little though! I, don't mind."

I chuckle at her enthusiasm. And, as much as I'd love to go forward. One of us needs to be the responsible one.

"That's enough for now." I say before giving a small kiss to her nose. "For now, it's time for bed."

"O-oh kay." She says disappointedly as she lets go of my hand. "Yeah that's, that's okay."

I move my hand to her head. Earning a soft smile accompanied by a happy squeal as I rub affectionately.

I continue for a few more seconds before stopping. Taking my hand back as Ruby opens her eyes back up. Giving me a happy grin, letting me know she's alright.

-SLBR Dorm, 10pm-

.

.

"Cyril, Cyril." I get gently shaken awake, opening my eyes, I see it's still night.

"Rmmm" I groan in response. "What?"

"You, made your stance on, consent and your bed rather clear." Weiss says. "A-and I'd, I noticed you seemed a bit cold and would like to offer, to make sure you aren't uncomfortable."

'This is not what I meant by getting my consent to sleep in my bed.' I think irritably.

Reaching my hand out, I move it around and look for the girl. Before she grabs my hand, and I feel her shift around until she's on her knees next to me, my hand on her head as I scratch.

"Next time." I groan out as I take my hand away. "Ask me before I go to bed."

Everything is silent for a bit. Before Weiss speaks up again.

"I, suppose that's a no?" She asks.

"It's a no for tonight." I say as I turn back over and face the wall. "Go back to bed Weiss."

.

.

-SLBR Dorm, 10/02, 7:20am-

.

.

I'm tying my boot laces as Blake gets a shower, Weiss fixes her hair, and Ruby lays off the side of her bed with her face to the floor. Waiting to get a shower herself.

It's then that we hear a knock at the door.

"I'll see who it is." Weiss says, setting the little tiara hairpiece down as she gets up.

Looking up, I see her open the door. And immediately shut it. Walking back to her vanity and sitting down, resuming her routine.

"Who was it?" I ask curiously.

"No one important." Weiss says just before the knock is heard again.

"I'll check it out-" I say as I get up, only to have Weiss get up and walk over to me grab my hand, and sit down on my bed. "Um, what is this?"

"I, merely thought you were stressed." Weiss says as she subtly tugs my hand. "And I'm told physical contact is proven substantial at relaxing someone."

"She's right!" Ruby says from her spot on the floor.

They don't want me seeing who's at the door. Or, at least Weiss doesn't. Ruby's just in a bored mood. She gets like that sometimes. Only thing I've found that gets her out of it, is fighting.

"Qrow's at the door, isn't he?" I ask, giving Weiss a flat stare as Ruby gets up.

"And why would you assume that?" Weiss asks as Ruby opens the door, and petals away.

"Call it a hunch." I say as I sit down next to Weiss, who immediately wraps her tail around my waist.

Weiss leans into me as I move my arm to hold her against me. Having let go of my hand, she rests her arms at her side as she takes in deep, relaxing breaths. Rubbing the side of her head into my shoulder.

Getting an idea. I take my other hand, and run it through the soft fur of her tail.

"Hmm." Weiss groans in contentment as I do so.

It's around this time, that Ruby returns. Closing the door behind her, she looks up and sees us.

"Don't leave me out!" She says excitedly, walking over to us with a smile. She moves to lay down on our laps.

Her head on my lap with Weiss's tail next to it. She smiles up at us before gaining a blush.

"Th-this is okay, right?" She asks. "I-I don't want to-"

"You're fine Ruby." I say as I pat her head, not wanting to play favorites or make her feel left out.

"You two are incorrigible." Weiss says as she crosses her arms with a huff.

I go to say something, but get a towel tossed at my face. Covering my vision.

"You guys can get mushy later." I hear Blake say as she walks across the room. "Ruby, it's your turn."

"Why'd you toss the towel at me?" I ask as I remove the article from my face.

"I was aiming for Ruby." Blake says.

.

.

-Lunch-

.

.

Ruby Rose POV

.

Sitting down next to my partner, I can't help but be nervous. Yeah, he seems to be fine. But, I don't know. He's, not?

I mean, he was cool a week ago. Then, well, Qrow happened. And then, well, I, the bed, and his thing, and. More stuff almost happened.

"Hey you good?" Cyril asks, poking my cheek.

"Yeah I'm fine!" I answer him, earning a raised brow from the boy.

"You sure?" He asks, not believing me. "You've been really quiet."

"I'm fine, just thinking is all!" I say.

Are we good. I mean, we still kiss. And he rubs my head. But what if all that is just me taking things for granted? What if kissing is a normal thing where he's from? So the kisses don't mean anything to him. They might as well be high fives! But, no wait. Only friends high five.

Have I been friendzoned!?

"Cyril are we friends?" I ask, earning a confused look from my (hopefully still) boyfriend.

Am I overthinking? It feels like I'm overthinking.

"Um, no." He says.

'You blew it!' I yell at myself.

"I thought we were dating?" He answers.

'You anxiety riddled goof!' I yell at myself.

"Oh, just making sure." I say before returning to my sandwich.

"You're weird." He says.

'I know.' I groan internally. 'I'd change if I could.'

He then puts his hand to my head. Calming me down and sending warm fuzzies through out my scalp. Reminding me that it's okay to be weird.

'Scalp is a weird word.' I think to myself. 'Scalp scalp scalp scalp. Now it doesn't sound like a word. Just a sound.'

'Scaaaalp.'

"Scal -puh." I sound out.

"What?" Weiss asks as Cyril stops patting.

"Nothing!"

.

.

-Free period-

.

.

"And I win." I say as I remove Blake's third to last piece.

"I still don't get how you can be this good at a game you only played for one year." Blake accuses.

Ruby is in the forge, again. She goes there to make knives to keep up her skill, and casings to reduce the cost of ammunition. I also asked her to make me some copper blocks if she had time. Weiss, is in the library studying.

Me and Blake were bored, so she demanded a rematch.

"The knowledge just stuck I guess." I say with a shrug, not really keen on explaining that I played and beat every difficulty of this in a video game.

She resets the board and takes the first move as we start again. And we sit in silence as we progress. With me cheating by using my semblance to think faster when it's my turn.

"How do you do it?" Blake asks suddenly as soon as I place my fifth piece down.

"Do what?" I ask, looking up to her curiously.

"From everything I've heard. You lost everything." Blake answers cautiously. "How do you just, move on from that?"

'Where in the nine hells is this coming from?' I think, genuinely confused as to why she would ask.

"Why?" I decide to actually ask.

"I just, I don't understand." She says, looking me in the eye. "I get that you're depressed over it."

"Fuck you too but okay." I say under my breath.

"But, you just kept going." She ignores me. "You were kidnapped, thrown into Beacon, put on a team, got into a relationship with two girls when you're a monogamist. I just, it doesn't make sense."

Okay, that's a fair assessment. And to her credit, she's right. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

"Honestly?" I start trying to explain. "I haven't moved on. I'm just, going with the flow. At first, none of it felt real. Then, when the reality of it all hit, I just, shut down. Ruby came along and forced me to start moving forward. After that, I sort of just, accepted things as they were."

That's, honestly the best way I can put it. Without going into a whole, philosophical tangent.

"But, you lost so much." Blake says. "I just lo- if I were to lose a fraction of what you did, I'd be trying everything to get it back."

This isn't about me, is it? At least, not fully.

"Blake." I say with a tired look. "You keep looking back, and you're going to trip over something you missed and fall flat. That's all I'll say, now go. It's your turn."

She gives me an uncertain look before going back to her resting bitch face. And moving her piece.

Ten minutes later she got pissed at losing five times in a row and left. Leaving me to clean up the board. Of which I only did half way. She can put it up when she gets back.

As I leave the board on the desk, I notice I have half an hour until my tutoring session.

.

.

Weiss Schnee POV

.

Entering our dorm with a tired sigh. I look around the room and notice that Menagerian board game Cyril and Blake play is left out on the wall desk.

Walking over I take the board game and put it up. Making a mental note to discuss this with them later. Further looking around the room. I notice the bathroom door shut, and I hear the water running.

Ruby is in the forge. Blake and Cyril aren't in the room. Which, could only mean.

I feel my eyes go wide at the implications.

'No! No!' I tell myself. 'It could be that Blake is out and Cyril just wanted to soak, or the other way around. There's no way Blake would be in the shower with Cyril. That's ridiculous! He has me and Ruby if that was the case. And Blake doesn't even like him like that. And besides, he could always- Stop it!'

Shaking the thoughts from my head. I walk over to the door and put my ear up to it. Listening in, to make sure nothing indecent is happening of course!

Hearing nothing but the sounds of running water. And, nothing else, I hear someone in there. But, nothing to imply anything indecent.

Not that I was looking for it or anything!

The water shuts off and I quickly head to my vanity. Intent on, organizing my makeup! And, noting what I may need to restock next we visit Vale. As well as some other things I may need to pick up.

.

.

Cyril Leon POV

.

That, was a good soak. And I got some extra practice with my magic in. What I'm learning, is that I can transform parts of myself. And, there's more. I can feel it. In the shower, I managed to turn it into a sauna for a brief period by turning my arms into this odd, heated and ashen like form.

Other than that, it was just good to enjoy the water.

The way we all have to share the shower in the morning leaves little room for anything other than a quick scrub and time to get dressed. No matter how Weiss, and sometimes Ruby, take extra care of themselves.

Stepping out after dressing in my casual clothes. I notice Weiss at her vanity, going through a few drawers and moving her makeup around. Feeling in a good mood, I walk over to her. Standing behind the girl as her gaze is fixed to the desk and not the mirror.

"Hey there." I say as I rest my head on hers, needing to crouch down a little bit to do so.

"Ah!" She jumps in place, looking up and locking eyes at me in the mirror. "Cyril! Don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry." I chuckle as I drape my arms around her shoulders, earning a blush as she leans back into me. "Couldn't help myself."

"Well you'd do best to start." She grumbles, putting on a pouty face even though her tail wraps around my midsection.

"I don't think I will." I whisper, not wanting to hurt her ears with how close I am.

"W-what do you mean by that?" She shudders, her tail twitching as it tightens around me.

"Well, you keep going on, and on about how, incorrigible I am, and about how much of a letch I am." I say in a breathy whisper, a smirk growing on my face as I watch her blush deepen in the mirror. "I think you can guess where I'm going with this?"

I kiss the top of her head, earning a squeak and shudder that travels down her back and to the tip of her tail.

"Y-y-you." Weiss stutters as she locks eyes with me in the mirror. "Y-you're not, being serious."

"I'll be as serious as you want me to be." I whisper smoothly. "Ball's in your court my little fox, what's your play?"

Weiss closes her eyes, shut tight as she leans back into me. Rubbing her head into my chin before reaching up and unclipping her hair piece. Letting her hair fall free as she grabs my arms and dislodges me from her.

She releases me from her and turns around on her stool. Now facing me as she reaches out and grabs hold of me. Pulling me close as she breathes deep and bear hugs me.

"Call me that again." She mumbles.

It takes me a moment to register her words. Before I understand her meaning. Putting a hand to her head, I run my fingers through her hair as she looks up at me with pleading eyes.

"You mean, my little fox?" I ask, causing her to tilt her head back down and bury her head back into my stomach.

I'll take that as a yes.

It is at this time that Ruby comes back from the forge. Startling Weiss as she opens the door and causing her to push back from me with a start. Going wide eyed as she looks between me and the sweaty Ruby. Her blush growing as she sees Ruby in a tank top.

Ruby looks between the two of us and smirks. Giving a thumbs up as she heads to the bathroom.

"Don't mind me!" Ruby says as she slips halfway behind the door. "I'll just be in here, taking a nice long soak. Might even take half an hour, with running water covering anything I might hear!"

She then fully slips into the bathroom and closes the door.

"Well." I say as I look down at the blushing, wide eyed girl on the stool. "As much as I'd love for this to continue, I have tutoring to get to and-"

I don't get much more out as Weiss grabs my shirt and pulls me down as she stands up. Mashing our lips together as she snakes her arms around my neck to hold me in place.

"Rmmm, hmm!" She moans into the kiss as she presses herself to me.

Wrapping a leg around mine as she tightens her grip, before releasing me with a huff. Giving me the hottest bedroom eyes to accompany her blush as she separates from me and sits back down. Pivoting in her seat to face her vanity and fix her slightly ruffled hair.

"What was that?" I ask, a little in shock at the zero to sixty back to zero she just pulled on me.

"Incentive to make it back quickly." Weiss says lightly. "And a bit of, comeuppance for the attempt to rile me up, knowing you'll leave."

She got me excited as revenge, for getting her excited just before I have to go.

You know what? That's fair.

.

.

-Beacon, Library, 3:30pm-

.

.

"Alright Cyril." Velvet says as she packs her things. "I'll see you tomorrow, and don't take it too hard. We all have our off days."

I, couldn't focus. I had a certain white haired fox on my mind the whole time.

"Yeah, sorry about that." I say, still somewhat distracted. "See you next time Vel."

She gives a nod before heading off. Leaving me to pack up my stuff.

"Hey kid." I hear him.

"Oh fuck off!" I yell as I look up at the drunk now sitting across from me as I gather my shit faster.

"Hey look!" He says as he puts a hand on the book I was grabbing. "Five minutes, alright? That's all I ask."

"It's more than I'm willing to give." I say with a glare. "Now go, before I break your eardrums."

"Then two minutes." He asks with a tired shake of his head. "Okay? Just want to clear the air with ya."

"About what? And why do you even care?" I ask the man as I yank the book back.

"Because, there are only four people in this world I give a damn about, and half of them are pissed at me." He explains.

"Sounds like a you problem." I say as I stand up and head towards the front desk.

"What do I need to make it up to ya kid?" Qrow asks as he follows me. "How about I let you punch me?"

Setting the books down on the counter. I smile at the receptionist.

"One second." I say, holding up a finger, before turning on my heel and delivering a haymaker to Qrow's nose.

"Aww! Shit!" He curses as he holds his face, while I shake my hand.

Punching people in the face, bare fist, hurts a bit. Not gonna lie.

"Shit kid!" Qrow says as he stands back up, holding his nose. "Rrrr! You don't pull your punches! Fuck!"

"You know, that wasn't even all that satisfying." I admit as I turn around and get out my I.D. for the lady to take and scan.

"Really?" Qrow asks in disbelief. "You just got off a solid hit on, arguably, the strongest Huntsmen in Vale, and that's not good enough for you?"

"No, it's not." I say as I face the drunk. "Because you let me. It was like a sad handjob from a hobo. Sure, it got the job done, but it wasn't satisfying."

I take the I.D. back from the lady. Giving her a smile and a nod as I leave the library.

"Wait, am I the hobo in this scenario or?" Qrow asks.

"You're the handjob." I say as I pass through the door.

I hear a metallic shink as soon as I pass. Followed by a slam. Looking back, I see the door locked behind me, and Qrow stuck in the library.

Shrugging, I head back to the dorm. Passing a few others students as I do so. A few I recognize, like Russel. Or that girl on Adam's team. Other's I don't.

All and all, this is kind of what I imagined what college would be like. Just, more murdery, gun filled, and, okay it's about as horny as I imagined. Though that's what happens when you cram a bunch of teenagers in one building with limited supervision.

Heading to the dorm, I stop as I watch Ren and Jaune playing rock paper scissors outside in the hall. Before Jaune loses and slumps forward. Turning around and heading off in the opposite direction.

"What was that about?" I ask as I walk up beside Ren.

"Hm?" He looks to me. "Ah, Cyril. We were merely deciding who would have to make a run to Vale for, toiletries. He lost."

Putting two and two together. I figure what he means, and figure it must be that time of the month for one of their teammates.

"Suppose I'm lucky in that regard." I sigh. "With three fourths of my team being, of the necessity, we tend not to run out before the others notice."

"You are enviable in that regard." Ren says before heading the way I just came.

Shrugging, I turn to my dorm and head inside. Upon entering, I see Ruby, Weiss and Blake all crowded around the monitor on the wall desk. Blake on the left closest to her bed, Weiss in the middle with her tail wrapped around Ruby's waist to the right.

They all look over to me, before looking back to the monitor.

"What are we watching?" I ask as I head towards my bed and start unlacing my boots.

"Huntress Jasmine episode three." Ruby says, turning to address me. "Wanna watch it with us?"

Been meaning to see some of the media here.

"Sure." I say and walk over.

Noticing we're out of chairs. Ruby being sat on Weiss's vanity stool. I lean forward on the back of the chair Weiss is in and plant my head on hers. She grumbles a little, but doesn't otherwise say anything after I drape my arms around her shoulders.

Ruby however, not wanting to be left out. Scoots her seat closer to Weiss's. Now being hip to hip with the girl, she grabs my right arm and pulls it to herself. Resting her head against my shoulder as she cradles my arm. While Weiss's tail stays wrapped around Ruby's waist.

"Hey, can I invite Sun over sometime?" Blake asks suddenly.

"Sure/No/Don't see why not." I, Weiss and Ruby say respectively.

Me and Ruby look to Weiss as she looks up to me, then over to Ruby.

"We'll discuss this later." She says, turning her gaze back to the screen. "The show is still going."

.

.

-8:20pm-

.

.

Stepping out of the bathroom in my freshly changed clothes, I rub my eyes as I turn to my bed, only to bump into Weiss. She's short enough that without paying attention, it's easy to miss her.

"Woah." I say in surprise. "Hey there."

In true Weiss fashion, she immediately goes for the hug. Breathing in deeply as her tail slowly sways. Picking up in speed as I return the hug.

"Mrrmm. I'm sorry." She moans into my chest.

"What for?" I ask.

"Mrmm. F'being clingy." She groans, growing more relaxed as we stay here.

"You're fine." I say as I bring a hand up to rub her head, running my fingers through her long, soft hair. Earning a contented groan from her.

She looks up at me with half lidded eyes and a soft blush. She closes her eyes as she leans up on her tiptoes, lips slightly parted as she struggles to reach mine.

Getting a mischievous idea. I lean down and hook an arm under her knees. Her eyes shooting open as I pick her up with ease and princess carry her over to my bed. Where I sit down and set her in my lap.

"This is, is highly inappropriate." She glowers as she nonetheless wraps her arms around my neck.

"Sure it is." I say as I kiss her cheek while remembering last night. "I'm guessing you want to sleep with me tonight?

Weiss doesn't say anything. Instead just tightens her hug. Before giving a nod that rubs her head against my cheek.

"Alright, for tonight." I say as I lean over and move the blanket back, scooting back as I lay down on my side, turning Weiss around to make her the little spoon.

"No." She says as she gets up to her knees.

"No?" I ask as she moves the blanket back.

She then moves over me and to my left a bit. Straddling me before laying down on her side and resting her head on my left shoulder. Holding me in a half spoon as her fluffy tail rests over my stomach.

"Is, is this okay?" She asks, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Yeah." I say as I bring my arm around to hold her. "You're fine."

She smiles softly as she squeezes herself closer to me. Her chest to my side.

This, is going to end one of two ways in the morning.

"Ruby, this is absurd." I tell the younger girl.

"Is it?" She asks. "The way I see it, it's totally feasible! Cyril had a twin in the womb, one that he absorbed! That twin was a girl, and as such, he counts as a girl! It also explains his smooth skin, soft hands, and long eyelashes! He's half girl!"

Now I'm just imagining Cyril a woman.

He'd make a rather attractive woman I'll admit to that. But, okay no. I'm just seeing my sister and mother. So, no.

"Ruby, even if that were true. He's still very much male." I reiterate.

Very much. Almost, scarily so. Though, it's not as though I have a decent frame of reference. He could very well be average and it's just my small size that is misleading me. It's not as though I got a good look or any-

Stop!

"Ruby." Blake sighs. "He could just be a guy with magic. Simplest solution, is the easiest."

"But that's too easy!" Ruby accuses as she goes back to the white board she has set up. "Maybe he's just a girl, and he used magic to make himself a boy? Or he's a natural hybrid. Like a combination of a man and a woman."

I can feel my brain cells dying.

"You mean like if a man and a woman had a kid?" Blake snickers.

"Exactly!" Ruby says with a snap of her fingers as she writes that on the board.

She is so lucky she's cute.

End of Vol. 1

The reason Jacques looked remorseful in the last chapter, is because Cyril said "but your offer of marriage doesn't interest me."

And that made Jacques think of his own marriage and how it turned out. How he accepted Nicholas's offer to have him marry Willow. And Jacques, regrets accepting. For many, many reasons.

.

Had Ruby just walked in on Cyril without knocking, he would've blown up. And likely would've slept in the library or common room just to make a point.

.

Weiss is, of course, venting her daddy issues through Cyril.
