[LOG FILE 054: TORVUS BOG, AETHER]
I entered what appeared to be the deepest part of the Torvus Bog, a large chamber that seemed to have walls eerily similar to the cage in the earlier chamber. Regardless of my thoughts of the appearance I descended to the bottom of the chamber. There were two openings in the rounded walls on opposite sides from each other. One of them led to a magnetic rail system, which was currently useless to me without my Spider Ball module. The other led to another door, which I walked through without any resistance.
Inside the small room I finally found a suit upgrade: a Gravity Boost module. I wasted no time installing the new gear, which slotted perfectly onto the back of my Dark Suit. At once the murky water became much clearer and my underwater movement was no longer hindered. After a brief test I determined this equipment could also give me extra propulsion after a Space Jump, but it wouldn't work without being in water. I finally had my way back to the surface.
I re-entered the previous chamber, only for the cage walls to rotate behind me. I was now trapped in the room. Though I suppose the proper term might be arena, as I heard a large hatch open at the top portion of the cage. That was when the large beast came charging through, destroying a central pillar before slamming into the floor.
I realized that this creature must be an Alpha Blogg, judging by the sheer size of it. I quickly scanned the new foe for data. Aside from being able to shoot sonic blasts that would disrupt my ability to battle it, it was basically just a really big Blogg. Which meant it only had one weak point: the mouth.
I opted to try and use Super Missiles to deal as much damage as possible. As the Alpha Blogg could charge at me extremely quickly, I would have to time both my attacks and my dodges perfectly to survive. The sonic blasts it shot were easy enough to avoid, but I had to release my Super Missiles right as the beast charged at me. Maybe it was quick feet and good aim, maybe it was an insane amount of luck; but my strategy ended up paying off, taking only four full shots to destroy it.
With the Alpha Blogg defeated it was time to leave the submerged sector. On my way up I noticed a portal that I could now access. With my curiosity getting the better of me, I made a quick visit to Dark Aether. My curiosity was rewarded with a Dark Temple key, adding a second one to my possession. Knowing where the final key was, I returned to Aether and continued ascending the watery depths.
As I returned to the main chamber, I realized there were some earlier sections of the submerged area that I could likely explore now that I had the Gravity Boost. I headed to one of the side chambers near where I last encountered Dark Samus. My intuition was right; there was an underwater Bomb Slot that I could now reach. I activated the device which lowered a barrier protecting another portal, which I stepped through to return back to the dark world…
