Here we go, the 10 chapter and we begin going into Felicia's mind to learn levitation.
DM77's Psychonauts Chapter 10
Felicia's Dance Party Part 1
When Nigel opens his eyes he found the world around him was something out of a 60's music video. He looks around amazed by it.
"Look who made the scene!" Felicia is heard saying.
"Agent Felicia? Where are you?" Nigel said looking around confused. He then sees a floating TV come down displaying the mental denizens dancing and occationily Felicia comes on also dancing.
"On TV of course! Where I was always meant to be!" Felicia said happily and brushes her hand through her long blue hair "I mean looking at hair, darling. How can hair this amazing not be on TV?"
Felicia then clears her throat as she begins the lesson "Now darling, the best way to learn Levitation is to just try it! I'm going to give you a Levitation Learner's Permit. It will only work while you're in my mind."
The TV slot opens and out prints the learners permit. Nigel takes it and puts it in his backpack.
"After you finish my course, I'll give you the real thing, baby." Felicia said happily "First you got to show me you know how to use it!"
Nigel looks and sees Lucio nearby, he was standing on an orb of mental energy. He then runs on it making it roll and then jumps a gap making it to the end. Nigel concentraces and makes in his hand a ball of mental energy and gets on top of it.
"Now bounce on up here and follow me, darling." Felicia said happily as the TV moves. Nigel nods and gets the hang of it and jumps the gap to get on the same platform as Lucio.
"Now for this last one you're really going to have to fly." Felicia states and explains at Lucio demonstrates "Once you get up in the air, try using your thoughts as a balloon to float. Just jump for those rings, as high as you can, and then do your PSI Float!" Lucio demonstrates floating through the rings and lands on the other side and goes through the chest of a man statue which then closes up sealing the way though. "Don't be afraid darling!"
"Alright, I can do this" Nigel said as he rolls up his PSI bubble and rolls and jumps and at the top of his jump tranfers it to his hand like a balloon and floats through the three rings, them spinning when he does and once all three were spinning the stature separates his arms revealing the hole for Nigel to enter through.
"Outstanding!" Felicia said dancing "Okay, now just between you and me, this end of the party is dead. Come find me on the other side of the party and I'll give you a merit badge for real. Never keep a girl waiting long, young man!" She then blows a kiss.
"Right, then lets get that badge" Nigel said as he heads through the hole. He then rolls on his ball into a rollar pit with more rings facing the ceiling.
"Stay on the ball in here, Nigel, if you want to get higher." Felicia instructs. "And see if you can get all those rings spinning mister DJ!"
"Should be easy" Nigel said as he rolls on his ball in the pit and moves up to through each ring one by one until the spin, when all three start spinning they vanish.
"Woo-hoo! You are the sugar in my bowl, darling." Felicia said happy as some flower platforms come down forming a platform stairway. "Now just follow the flowers, won't you? And try to stay rolling at all times! That is the theme of this party!"
Nigel nods and rolls and jumps onto the platforms, being careful to guide his jumps so they land on the next flower platform. Soon he was nearly at the top.
"Fantastic! What style you have, young man!" Felicia said from the TV's
"Oh, why thank you." Nigel said rubbing his head as he continues ascending.
"Now I am not saying that you will fall, but if you ever did, I'll put a ball return down here for you." Felicia said and Nigel looks down and indeed sees said ball return appear "Just jump in there if you ever need to come back up in a hurry."
"Got it" Nigel said nodding.
Felicia then appears on a TV near some none spinning rings and said "Darling, float over here, will you? These rings aren't spinning and they're ruining my party!"
"Right some more spinning rings coming right up." Nigel said and gets to the top where he sees a dance party happening and among the Mental dancers were Cheese Sandwich, Veronica, Tony and Flash Sentry dancing with them. It looked like fun but Nigel had to focus on getting that Levitation Badge.
Nigel gets on a flower platform and jumps and uses PSI Float to move to the rings and carefully floats down into them and gets each spinning and lands onto a platform.
"Thank you sweetie. I feel so much better now!" Felicia said with a smile and as another ball return appears, the platform Nigel is on moves "Come on. Let's take it a little higher now." The platform stops with a wind current blowing ahead of Nigel with blue confetti "Ooh, look at the crowd. Things are starting to pick up!"
"Indeed" Nigel said and jumps to the platform in the wind current and looks around the area.
"See that draft up above, darling? Jump into it and float and see where it takes you." Felicia explained
"Sure I will get right….into….that…?" Nigel said as he notices down below a bit a dimly lite doorway with a platform, he couldn't tell what was in their but it looked out of place for the bright colours and lights. "A little detour won't hurt."
Nigel jumps down to a nearby platform and then uses PSI float to fly down to that platform and enters the doorway to find…a children's play room and inside was a Mental Vault running around and a toy box
"Now why would you want to come in here." Felicia said knowing Nigel has entered this private part of her mind "Come on, this room's no fun. Let's leave, baby."
Nigel goes to the memory vault and whacks it and has it spill it's reel. He looks at it, it was titled 'Felicia's Children' the first slide had Felicia dressed as a nun telling a story to many children who lived in an orphanage, another slide showed her feeding the children and the next had them singing a song as she played the piano. Nigel smiles at this and couldn't understand why this was hidden away.
The next slide showed exactly why as he sees Felicia return from shopping only to find the entire Orphanage on fire, the final slide had Felecia clutch her head as the screams of the children in the fire surround her.
"Geez…" Nigel said putting it down, he then nears something from the toy box, he whacks it open and a red glow comes from it.
"Now you DEFINATLY don't want to go in there!" Feleicia sounding worried "That's a party killer right there."
Curiosity got the better as Nigel jumps into the chest
When Nigel lands on the ground he sees he is in a hellish like room, almost like he he was in hell, behind a burning fenced locked gate all around him were fuzzy creatures made up of manly black and magenta creatures with yellow eyes. Nigel also swears he hears the sound of children whispering.
"Darling. What are you doing down here? The party is upstairs" Felicia said concerned. "Lucky for you I have my Smorgs under control."
"Oh yeah, I think I read on these, they represent a person's nightmares." Nigel said thinking. He figures these Smorgs in relation to that room are Felicia's nightmares of the day she lost all the children in that fire.
"Indeed, they can also take you to a world of pain, trust me." Felicia said "Now quick. Let get back to the party, okay? Darling. If you're looking for the make-out room, you've come to the wrong place."
"I can see that" Nigel said nodding
"Why did you let us die?" The Smorgs said in haunting whispers "We're all alone now, Felicia. Ow! It's hot! It's burning!"
Nigel quickly goes down the centre hole to leave, he feels if Felicia were to lose, he hold on her containment of those Smorgs, he would have to hunt them down in the different mental worlds, he just prays he never has to face one.
Nigel jumps out of the toy chest and closes it up. He then heads back into the main area and works his way back up to the wind current and uses PSI float to be carried over to a ledge with a ladder.
"Well, further up we go" Nigel said as he climbs up the ladder.
He makes up and sees the room was kind of like a pinball machine with a launcher to spring them up, he knows this as he sees Luna Loud using it to spring up and then use PSI Float to lower down onto some tambourine platforms.
Nigel goes to do it but has to dodge and avoid some Mini-Micromangers who were attacking him, to separate from the others Nigel has encounter these ones were wearing party tophats. There were also two regular sized Micromangers that attacked him but he dealt. Nigel PSI slams into them to get rid of the small ones.
Once clear Nigel spings himself up and tries to land on the tambourine but it was difficult and took him a few tries but he managed to land and bounce on up several tamborines and land on a flower platform that takes him further up.
When he reaches the top of the lift he finds a cicular area with the rail having several non-spinning rings on it. Knowing what to do Nigel jumps onto the rail and grinds all around it through every ring till they were all spinning, and they activate the next flower platform lift.
"Phew…good thing this isn't a mountain or I will have to worry about thin air" Nigel said sighing in relief and jumps onto it and sees another platform and jumps onto it.
Here he sees Kristoff, Heather and Lisa dancing with the mental dancers here. He looks around and sees across a gap some purple doors with red hand prints on it. Nigel figured that was the way to go and moves to get a running start on his PSI ball and moves and jumps.
He makes it and whacks open the door and runs down a hall dealing with Micromanagers and Bob-ombs as he does and enters another bowl like room with some Mini-Micromanagers and a Mental Vault. Nigel takes care of them and gets the vault to open up to reveal it's reel.
This one was titled 'Felicia's Adventures!' The reel show cases various missions Felicia has as a Psychonaut partnered with Wiz stopping villains and saving people from danger, going undercover, stopping villains in helicopters and boats and also rescuing the President's brain and also escaping a building before it explodes. The last one showed Felecia ontop of Wiz no doubt after the previous one both blushing as they look at each other.
"Well that is sweet" Nigel said putting it down. He then gets on his PSI ball and rolls up and sees the area is caged with a climbable wall so he rolls and jumps onto it.
He begins climbing up and reaches where he can jump onto the overhead chandelier and sees a poll leading out of it on a roating platform with four different areas one was water, another was on fire, a third was electric and the last was acid. Around the pole area was also spikes.
"When you are levitating, you are also protected from all sorts of icky things." Felicia explained "But some things like those spikes, those are always bad news, whether you are levitating or not. So, watch out!"
"Oh, cool that means I will be safe on everything. Water in…" Nigel said as he activates his PSI ball and rolls on the water only for the watery hand to try and grab Nigel nearly making him go in, he yelps and jumps back to safety.
"Mmmm. That shouldn't be happening." Felicia said seeing this and was confused. "Darling, do you have some problems with water? Do you want to talk about it?"
"Uh, it's a long story. Maybe later." Nigel said rubbing his head as he recovered from that. He then resummons his PSI ball.
"Okay, I'm always here for you darling." Felicia said nodding "Let me just say that it's very normal for boys your age."
Nigel then rolls one one of the other three hazards he can tavel on with the PSI ball and jumps before hitting the spikes and grabs onto the pole. He then shimmies up it till he made it to a Flower Platform and jumps onto it.
He then sees two plaforms moving slowly around the area with glass pannels separating the two halves. Nigel jumps timing it well to land on one, when it got to the glass he jumps over it and lands perfectly back on the platform. He then sees a door similar to the one before, he jumps to and whacks it open, seeing a green gateway but before he can two Micromanagers appear.
"Out of my way!" Nigel said as he takes them both out and then goes through the doorway. He feels like his halfway done but whatever's next he have to be ready.
Well so far all is fine, but Nigel saw Felicia's inner turmoil but he knows she has it contained. Now to continue his training on Levitation.
