I ran out of things to say in this world. once everything came out there was nothing more to say except to follow what jade's reaction was. so here is the final chapter.
Epilogue 1/2
It had been months since Jade discovered Tori's secret, and somehow, she still found herself marveling at it. The chaos and confusion of those first few weeks had mellowed, replaced by a strange sense of harmony that neither of them had expected. As they lay tangled together in Jade's bed, the dim light of early morning casting soft shadows across the room, Jade traced lazy circles on Tori's bare shoulder, the contented silence filling the space between them.
"So," Jade murmured, a playful glint in her eyes, "how's my favorite boyfriend-girlfriend hybrid feeling this morning?"
Tori let out a soft groan, burying her face against Jade's shoulder. "Please don't call me that," she muttered, half laughing, half wincing.
Jade just grinned, unfazed by Tori's embarrassment. "Oh, come on. You know you love it."
Tori propped herself up on one elbow, her gaze drifting over Jade with a mixture of affection and exasperation. "Maybe you love it. I'm still wrapping my head around… all of it."
Jade reached up, brushing a lock of hair out of Tori's face. "Well, for what it's worth, I think it's the coolest thing ever. A guy when I want a guy, a girl when I want a girl… It's like I'm living in bisexual heaven."
Tori rolled her eyes, though a faint smile tugged at her lips. "Lucky you."
But Jade noticed the way Tori's fingers fidgeted with the edge of the sheet, the hint of discomfort lurking beneath her smile. She knew this wasn't easy for Tori—the constant shifting, the unease that came with embodying someone else's form, even if it was just a part of herself.
"Hey," Jade said softly, tilting Tori's chin up so their eyes met. "I know this isn't… natural for you. I mean, you're not exactly thrilled to be Vic half the time."
Tori's gaze faltered, her expression turning serious. "It's not that I hate him," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But sometimes I wish I could just… stay me. Tori. Full-time."
Jade nodded, her thumb brushing against Tori's cheek in a reassuring gesture. "I get that. And if there was a way to make it happen, I'd support you. But, Tori…" Her voice softened, her hand finding Tori's.*"I don't care who you are—Vic, Tori, or some mix of both. I just… I love you."
Tori's eyes softened, a slight blush creeping up her cheeks. "Even if I stay a girl forever?"
"Especially if you stay a girl forever, It's who you are…" Jade whispered with a smirk, leaning closer to brush her lips against Tori's. "But I'm not saying I wouldn't miss the guy sometimes."
Tori laughed, shaking her head. "You're such a weirdo, you know that?"
Jade grinned. "Takes one to know one, babe."
They fell into a comfortable silence, Jade's fingers idly tracing patterns along Tori's arm. And as the minutes slipped by, she felt a surge of gratitude for the strange, twisted path that had led them here. Because, in all her mischief and curiosity, Jade had somehow found exactly what she didn't know she'd been searching for.
"So… if you ever figure out a way to change things permanently, just know," Jade said, her voice soft but certain, "I'm here for you, no matter what. Okay?"
Tori nodded, a quiet smile on her lips, her fingers lacing with Jade's. "I know. And… I love you, too. Every weird part of you."
They lay there, lost in each other, the world outside fading away.
Five Years Later
The old church was alive with laughter and the sound of shuffling feet as friends and family took their seats. Outside, rain pattered against the windows, streaking down in heavy droplets and coating the world in that cozy, wet haze that made everything feel like a storybook. Inside, beneath the vaulted ceiling and soft glow of candlelight, Jade stood at the front, her heart pounding, eyes fixed on the door at the end of the aisle.
And then, as if stepping straight out of her dreams, there was Tori—Vic, really, in this moment, but unmistakably, gloriously Tori—wearing the delicate white dress that Jade had secretly dared to hope she'd choose.
Vic's cheeks were flushed from the run, his hair tousled and still damp from the rain, but he wore that smile, warm and genuine, that always made Jade's world slow to a standstill. She stifled a laugh as she noticed the hints of embarrassment in his posture, the way he kept tugging at the skirt as he walked down the aisle, trying to make the most of his one moment in a dress.
Beside him, Andre gave an encouraging nod and a proud grin, as if to say, You're got this, bro. Their little music group had taken off, and after countless small shows and late-night jam sessions, they were finally headed on their first tour after today. Andre was already buzzing with excitement, probably plotting their setlist for the fifth time, and Jade could tell he'd been all too happy to throw himself into the pre-wedding festivities.
Jade's friends lined the aisle with beaming faces. Even Beck had flown in for the day. His eyebrows lifted with amusement as Vic passed him by, and Beck threw Jade a quick wink as if to say, You two are really something. For all his quirks, Beck had been a good friend these last few years—surprising her at times, showing up when it counted most.
As Tori approached, she felt a flood of memories surge up—late nights in college where she stayed up with Tori, studying or talking about the dreams they dared to share, the day she got her first TV writing gig, the wild applause of their friends when Tori and Andre nailed their first headlining show. They'd made it through years of school, figuring themselves out, leaning on each other through every high and low, and now, here they were.
Jade's eyes met Vic's—Tori's—and everything else fell away.
When he reached her, she couldn't resist a small, knowing smile. "You clean up pretty well," she teased, her voice just loud enough for him to hear.
Vic rolled his eyes with a chuckle, shifting a bit in the dress, and whispered, "If I'd known the rain would catch me like this… Anyway, don't get used to it."
"Noted," Jade replied, eyes gleaming. "But I don't know… it suits you."
The ceremony was intimate, filled with small jokes and stifled giggles, and every time they locked eyes, Jade felt like she was going to burst from happiness. And when it was time to say their vows, her voice softened with emotion, words coming to her as naturally as breathing.
"You are my story, Tori," she said, her hands squeezing his. "The one plot twist I never saw coming, the ending I didn't know I wanted. I choose you, every version of you, every day."
Tori's own eyes glistened with tears, and he pulled her close, not caring about any formalities as he wrapped her in his arms.
"And I choose you, Jade," he murmured. "For every adventure and every song. You're the best part of every day I've had, and every day I'll have."
They sealed their promises with a kiss, laughter echoing softly as they stayed there a beat too long, completely lost in each other. It didn't matter where the music would take Tori and Andre, how Jade's writing career would unfold; they had today, and they had each other, in every way that mattered.
As they walked back down the aisle together, hand in hand, Jade felt a deep, unshakable certainty. They were each other's story, and every chapter from here on out was theirs to write.
Two Years Later
The delivery room was a whirl of sterile lights and hurried footsteps, but Jade's fierce glare was fixed on Tori, her hand gripping hers like a vise.
"This is all *your* fault!" Jade hollered, her voice echoing against the walls. She was panting, sweating, eyes blazing with that mix of love and blame that Tori was beginning to know all too well.
Tori, in her usual female form, leaned close, her voice gentle and soothing. "Alright, alright, my fault," she said with a calm smile, ignoring the bemused looks from the nurses around them. "I'll carry the next one, babe, I promise."
Jade let out a strangled laugh in between contractions. The irony of Tori's remark wasn't lost on her, but there wasn't time to get into the quirks of their situation with the medical team. The nurses just chuckled, clearly thinking Tori was joking. They had no idea that she meant it.
With one final, exhausted push, Jade heard the sharp, piercing cry of their newborn, filling the room with its perfect sound. The baby was lifted into the air, his tiny limbs flailing as he took his first breaths.
The nurse smiled, bringing him to Jade's arms, her tone soft. "Congratulations! It's a boy!"
Jade's eyes went wide as she looked down at him. "A... a boy? But—" She glanced over at Tori, seeing her own shock mirrored there.
They both let out a surprised laugh, and Jade's fierce grip on Tori's hand softened as she cradled their son. Tori's hand came to rest on Jade's shoulder, and her voice dropped to a soft murmur. As she whispered sweet things in his ear.
Jade just smiled, leaning into Tori, the room fading away as they held their unexpected bundle of joy.
Tori cradled their little boy—their perfect little boy, Leo—in her arms, lowering him carefully into the small tub. The warm water lapped gently around his tiny limbs, and he squirmed a little, his wide eyes adjusting to the sensation. Tori chuckled, talking to him softly as she washed over his delicate little toes, feeling her heart burst with adoration.
Then, like a flickering light, Leo's features shifted, the lines softening, and suddenly, a girl lay blinking up at her. Tori froze, the warm, soapy washcloth in her hand suspended mid-air, her jaw dropping.
A snort of disbelief escaped her before she erupted into laughter, full and uncontainable, her voice echoing off the tile walls. She covered her mouth, her shoulders shaking as she looked down at her—her new daughter—blinking up at her with the same round, inquisitive eyes that had only moments ago belonged to Leo.
Hearing Tori's laughter, Jade poked her head in, looking both amused and confused. "What's so funny in here?" she asked, a smirk playing on her lips.
Tori held up their tiny, dripping baby, barely able to keep from bursting into laughter again. "Meet…our daughter," she managed, her voice quivering with amusement. "Turns out it's a girl…after all."
Jade's eyebrows shot up, her mouth opening, then closing in shock. She approached, looking at the baby—their baby—and seeing for herself what Tori meant. "What...?" She shook her head in disbelief, a slow grin spreading over her face.
"Guess Leo just needed a little water to show her true colors," Tori laughed, reaching to squeeze Jade's hand. They both gazed down at her, and Jade gently brushed a damp curl from the baby's forehead.
With a loving smile, she murmured, "Well, Leo or Lea…guess she's just like her mom."
As they shared a tender moment, Tori leaned into Jade, their hands entwined, gazing at their daughter with unwavering love.
"No matter who she is or who she becomes, we'll love her just the same," Tori whispered.
Jade nodded, her heart full. "Always."
Together, they embraced the beautiful chaos of their lives, knowing that in every moment of laughter, confusion, and love, they had found their forever.
