Ascending Towards Justice part 2

Meanwhile, Don and Sam put on disguises and walked towards the front entrance of the Triad Headquarters. Sam was wearing his black jacket and beanie and Donnie was wearing a purple sweater and cap. They were wearing shades to further cover their faces. Once they got a couple feet, the two guards scowled.

"Hey you two! Museum's closed! Come back in the morning!" Said one guard.

Don pressed something in his pocket and looked at Sam. They both nodded.

"Are you two fucking deaf or something!? Get the hell out of here before we rough you up!" Threatened the second thug as he and his friend reached for their guns.

But before they could react, both Don and Sam punched the thugs in the faces, knocking them unconscious. Don looked at Sam and smirked as he pulled out of his pocket a small electronic device with a single button.

"Pocket sized jammer works like a charm. All security cameras and sensors in the front are disabled, but only for a few minutes. Come on!" Said Donnie as he and the Tortoise walked through the front door.

As soon as the duo walked through the doors, they dropped their disguises and looked around cautiously for any enemies. The museum was full of priceless Chinese artifacts including swords, spears, bows and arrows, armor, as well as paintings and vases. All were displayed in glass cases. Both Sam and Don were astonished.

"Man, these artifacts are amazing! Especially at all the different weapons and armor displayed here. Art's fantastic too. I could look at them for hours!" Said Don.

"I would too if we weren't on a mission, Don. But focus, we don't know how many guards are patrolling this area!" Whispered Sam as the reptiles crept carefully around the large museum area in silence.

They decided to split up to cover more ground. After a few minutes they realized something was off and talked through their walkie talkies.

"Don, is it me? Or is this too easy?" Asked a concerned Sam.

"No, this is too easy for sure." Confirmed Donnie. "When you dont see any guards or anything, something definitely isn't right here."

While passing through a display of staffs and spears, Don's eyes widened as he saw in the glass reflection Poison about to pounce from atop a display. Don was quick to react and sidestepped out the way while countering the surprise attack with his staff launching the assassin in the air. But the femme fatale landed gracefully on her legs with only a wicked grin. Donnie glared as he got into a stance.

"So the turtles have come to play huh?" Mocked Poison. "Well once I've wasted the life out of you, I'll take out your friend next."

"Oh you will find out I'm much more difficult to beat, lady!" Said Don "I learn from my mistakes."

"Then this should be fun." Poison said as she brandished her claws.

Poison launched at Don, and the brainy turtle was on the defensive. He constantly blocked and parried his opponent's attacks while trying to look for an opening, but the assassin was too quick and kept out of range of his staff. Don managed to sweep poison off her feet but she landed on her hands and kicked Donatello backwards to the ground. The turtle recovered and got back up with a groan and continued the fight. He stood his ground, blocking and avoiding Poison's toxic claws. But Don knew he couldn't keep this up as he was feeling fatigue. He must end this fight fast.

Suddenly, the Femme Fatale somersaulted over Donnie, scratching him in the right shoulder in the process! Poison landed with a wicked smirk as Don felt the toxic effects take over, blurring his vision, making him nauseous. He then shouted in pain as he felt sharp pains in his sides. He dropped his staff and looked down to see Poison impaled him with her claws. The assassin pulled out her claws and watched her opponent fall to his knees. She smirked as victory seemed assured for her.

However, Donatello slowly looked up with determination in his eyes.

"I told you, lady, I'm much more difficult to put down." Don said.

The brainy turtle closed his eyes and concentrated. He put his hand on his wounded shoulder and with a few deep breaths, he focused his chi and the wound slowly began to heal. Don was slowly regaining his strength as he slowly got up on his feet. He then grasped his wounded sides and those began to heal too. His strength fully returned as the last of the toxins were expelled from his system. Poison was shocked as well as enraged.

"What is this!?" Demanded the surprised assassin. "That Tortoise must have taught you that!"

"That he did! Now let's finish this!" Said Don as he got into a fighting stance.

With that, Poison lunged at the turtle and tried to swipe with her right claw, but Don effortlessly swatted it away. She then tried to strike with her left claw but Don grabbed and twisted. Yelling more in rage than pain, the assassin attempted to take her opponent down with a jumping kick to the face, but Don countered it with a powerful block followed by a reverse punch to the gut, launching Poison into a glass display containing an ancient suit of armor themed like a snake, crashing into it and falling to the ground unconscious with the armor on top of her. Looking down at his defeated opponent, Donnie turned and ran off to find Sam.

"Now to find Sam. God I hope he's doing ok." Thought Don.

Meanwhile, Sam was walking through various displays of weapons and paintings. He stopped and looked at a display of a beautiful bow and several wooden arrows below it. Sam remembered how much he loved archery. He had been practicing since he was a child.

"I should make my own someday. Will be useful in future adventures." Sam said.

Suddenly, Sam gasped in pain as he felt a sharp pain on his side. He looked and saw his side bleeding from a wound. Then a mirage appeared next to him and Pathogen came into view with his wrist blade in the wound.

"Unfortunately, that won't come anytime soon." Said the emotionless assassin before he pulled out his blade.

Sam stumbled backward clutching his wound, but he focused his chi to heal his injury and took out his spear.

"I won't let you get in our way. We've come too far." Said Sam.

"I'm afraid we can't let you proceed. For you must die." Declared Pathogen as he brandished his hidden blades.

The two warriors clashed. Sam kept him out of range with his spear. Eventually, Pathogen received a gash on his cheek from one of Sam's spear thrusts. In response, he jumped on the spear and kicked the tortoise back making the latter drop his weapon. Sam got into his Tai Chi stance, but Pathogen suddenly disappeared. Knowing his enemy was cloaked, he kept his stance and looked around for any movement. The tortoise was suddenly slashed across his plastron by an unseen force. Then he was punched in the back of the head. Realizing he can't just use his eyes to fight, Sam closed his eyes and focused hard. He soon heard fast approaching footsteps and felt rushing wind in the air from the side and immediately delivered a palm strike to his invisible foe. Pathogen decloaked on the ground. He looked up and slightly narrowed his eyes. Sam wounds healed up.

The assassin got up and got into his stance. He then began emitting strong radiation that soon reached Sam who immediately became nauseous and vomited. The tortoise stumbled back into the bow and arrow display and shattered the glass casing. Sam looked up weakly at his enemy still emitting radiation. He had to end this now or he would die. But the radiation was so strong Sam would be dead before he could reach his opponent. Looking behind him, the tortoise noticed the ancient bow and arrows in the broken glass casing. Remembering his archery skills he grabbed the weapon as soon as his vision began to blur. Sam readied one arrow and aimed at Pathogen with great difficulty. The tortoise let loose the arrow, but the projectile whizzed past his face, only for the arrow to come back around and strike him through the side of the neck! Since the arrow was made of wood, Sam focused his chi to direct it into his target. While Pathogen was stunned from the sudden attack, the radiation subsided and Sam quickly recovered. The tortoise came at the assassin and delivered a powerful elbow strike to his torso, finally taking down his opponent as he fell to the ground.

"Good riddance." Sam said to his fallen foe.

Looking at the bow he acquired, Sam decides to keep it for now. He grabbed the rest of the arrows from the broken case and set off to find Donatello.

Both Donnie and Sam soon met at an elevator at the far end of the museum area.

"You ok Don?" Asked Sam.

"Yeah." Replied Don. "Had a run in with Poison, but I took care of her."

"Your healing techniques really came in handy, Sam."

"Thanks. I also had bumped into Pathogen. He's down too." Said Sam.

"Thank god. And where did you get the bow and arrows?" Asked Don.

"From one of the displays here. I think these wooden arrows would help us here for now." Said Sam.

"Good idea, Sam. Let's call the elevator and go up to the top floor." Said Don.

Sam nodded and called the elevator. He wondered how the rest were doing. And hoped they can overcome the rest of the Hazards.

Another intense fight between mutants and assassins!

Poison and Pathogen are down and Sam got a new weapon.
