Chapter 23: Driven
One night, sometime after the Moon Beast incident, Dwayne and Vin were being chased by the police. "Piece of cake you said. Slam dunk you said! A walk in the park!" Vin exclaimed. "Hey, how was I supposed to know that lab had a silent alarm?" Dwayne asked in annoyance. "Man, why do I listen to you?!" Vin exclaimed. "Hey, we made the heist, didn't we?! And we're gonna get paid top dollar for this sweet little piece of bio-tech. Whatever it is." Dwayne said, gesturing to the case that they stole. As the cops behind them continued to chase them through the streets, more cops came around front. "Uh-oh! I can't shake 'em!" Dwight cried. "Over there!" Dwayne said, pointing towards an alley on his right. They turned down into the alley, shocking the cops before they crashed into each other. "Boo-yah!" Dwayne cheered as they drove back onto the street. "Pull in there." He said, eyeing a nearby parking lot. They pulled into the lot and ducked out of sight as more cops drove by. "Nice. But the city's still swarming with cops looking for us and the stash." Vin said. They ducked down again as the cops came back around. "What do we do now?" He asked. As they got out of their truck, Dwayne placed the case in the back, under the seat. "We just walk away." He said, putting the keys in the driver's seat visor. "Are you nuts?!" Vin said. "We let the heat die down, then come back tomorrow, and we're home free." Dwayne said walking away. "Hey! Wait for me!" Vin cried as he followed. As the 2 walked away, they didn't know they were being watched by an unknown female from the rooftops
The next morning, a young man with a sort of robotic arm exited out of a condo and walked up to a sign in the lot. "Not again. Piece of junk." He said in annoyance. He kicked the sign, causing its neon to kick back on, revealing that it was a used-car lot. "We've got to call for an electrician at some point." He said as Max, Stephan, Yeager, Zad, Alex, Iden and Kirby walked into the lot. "Come on. This is the place. Supposed to have the best deals in town." Kirby said. "I don't know, Kirb. Looks kinda…sketchy." Max said. "I'm with Max on this one. These cars don't appear so…durable." Stephan said. "It's fine. Trust me. We're gonna pick out a real winner for your first car." Kirby assured as they walked by Dwayne and Vin's truck.
Meanwhile, Dwayne and Vin met up with Extroyer in his new hideout. "I want that case by tomorrow! Or you'll get another taste of…" Extroyer threatened as he transformed into his tiger form. "…your old friend!" He roared.

Later, Max and his boy crew were looking through the selection of cars for sail. "Max, not to question you, but was it a good idea to bring Kirby along?" Stephan asked. "It's my first car, Steel. I need all the help I can get. Besides, Kirb took auto shop last semester." Max explained. Kirby was checking out one of the cars' engines…until he got caught under the hood. "Although I'm not so sure he passed." Max said. "I'm okay." Kirby called. "Plus, homecoming's coming up. I really wanna ask Syd and pick her up myself like it was a real date. This is important, Steel." Max said. "Yeah, I know. But maybe you should wait until after she recovers from that spider bite she got last week during the field trip." Stephan said. "Yeah, you're right." Max said.
Just then, the young man, named Mark, and his older brother, Kurt, walked up to the boys. "Pardon us, gentlemen. Did this quality pre-owned vehicle catch your eye?" Kurt asked as he helped Kirby out from under the car's hood. "More like it caught me." Kirby said. "Well, you're in luck. Today's our One Day Barn Burner Sales Event. We're slashing prices for lucky drivers." Mark said. "We're just browsing. My driver's exam is in a couple of days." Max said as he and the others walked up. "We figured. You're not the first customer to walk in to prepare for their driver's exam. What's your name, son?" Kurt asked. "Maxwell McGrath. Call me Max." Max introduced. Suddenly, Mark and Kurt's eyes widened in shock. "Wait. You're Maxwell McGrath? The Maxwell McGrath?" Mark asked. "Yeah. Why? Have we met?" Max asked in confusion. "Oh no, you've never met us. But we know your friends, Vert and Olivia Wheeler." Kurt said. Max, Yeager and Zad were shocked by that. "What?! You know Vert and Liv?" Max asked. "We sure do. You see, my name is Kurt Wylde, and this is my younger brother, Mark." Kurt introduced. "Yeah. I was part of the rival team against their old team with Kurt being part of the team." Mark explained. "Wow. You guys raced with them?" Max asked. "We sure did." Kurt said.
Just then, as Kurt and Mark talked about their good old days of racing with Vert and Olivia to Max and his friends, a strange masked girl snuck around to Dwayne and Vin's car. She had long blonde hair tied in a low loose ponytail with a white ribbon. Her eyes were visible through her mask's holes and revealed to be light green. She wore what appeared to be a traditional dress of a miko and a pair of straw sandals. She opened the door, flipped up the seat and took the strange case. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Iden said as he walked over when he noticed her. As the boys looked over, the masked girl kicked Iden in the groin, leapt over the fence and took off. "Who was that?" Max asked. "I don't know. I couldn't find a proper identity." Stephan said as the boys helped Iden to his feet. "Yeah. Well, let's just forget about who that was for now and focus on picking out my first car." Max said. "Glad you could bring that up, Max. You know, you don't need a license to own a car." Kurt said. "Kurt's right. If you've got your learner's permit and a licensed driver with you, you can drive off our lot today." Mark said. "I'm a licensed driver." Kirby said. "Yet another reason to always buckle up." Stephan mumbled. "Excellent. Then allow us to show you around." Kurt said. "Say, Mark? What happened to your arm?" Yeager asked, looking at Mark's robotic arm. "Oh. I had a…bad accident and lost my arm because of it." Mark said. "Oh, I'm sorry…" Yeager apologized. "Nah, it's good. I've already got the hang of it." Mark said, patting his shoulder.
Meanwhile, Dwayne and Vin were on their way back to the lot. "Okay, we grab the car and everything's cool." Dwayne said. But then, he noticed that Vin was gone. He looked over and saw that Vin was buying a hot dog. He face palmed himself and marched over.
Meanwhile, back at the car lot, Max, Stephan, Kurt and Mark searched through the inventory of cars and trucks. "Now take this beauty for example, Max. They don't make them like this anymore." Mark said, showing a fabulous blue car. But as he patted the car, the front bumper fell right off. "Probably a good thing." Stephan mumbled. "Mark, haul this one back into the garage for another repair job after this." Kurt said. "Will do, Kurt. That's the 5th time this month." Mark groaned. "How about we try something a little sportier, Max? Here. This baby's a good hookup. A mere $6 grand." Kurt said, showing Max a sports car. "I've only got $600." Max said. "Max, you're killing us here. We can see why Vert and Liv spoke of you." Mark said.
Meanwhile, Vin had finished putting an even line of ketchup and mustard on his hot dog. "Hey! Would you hurry up already?!" Dwayne exclaimed. Vin took a bite just as Dwayne started dragging him along. "Okay, okay! I'm coming!" Vin exclaimed with his mouth full.
Meanwhile, back at the car lot, as the boys kept searching, Kirby's eyes fell upon Dwayne and Vin's truck. "How about this one?" He asked. "Wait. That's the truck I saw that girl stealing from." Iden said. "Strange. That one's not in our inventory." Kurt said. "It must be another computer glitch. We're always getting them lately." Mark said. Kurt climbed in the driver's seat and found the keys in the mirror. "Here we go. So, care to make us an offer, Max?" He asked. "I don't know." Max said, feeling unsure. "Here, maybe this'll help. Imagine yourself cruising down the road, your special lady sitting by your side, and the whole world on the horizon." Mark explained. Max put his imagination to the test.
[Fantasy]
Max was driving the truck down the open road. Sydney was sitting beside him in the passenger seat. "Where shall we go, Max?" She asked, lowering her sunglasses. "Wherever the road takes us, my darling." Max said. Steel was lying in the back, arms behind his head. "Ah, life on the open road." He said with a relaxed sigh.
[Fantasy End]
"I'll take it." Max said. "Excellent. I like you, McGrath. Tell you what, since you're Vert and Liv's friend, we'll give you a discount for $300." Kurt said. "So, who's the lucky girl?" Mark asked. "Sydney. Sydney Gardner." Max said. Just then, as Dwayne and Vin walked over, Max and the boys had already driven the car out of the lot. "Ah, not a bad sale." Kurt said. "You said it." Mark agreed. But then, as Dwayne and Vin arrived at the lot, they saw their truck was gone. "The car. It's gone." Dwayne said. But then, he saw the boys driving away with it. "Hey! Hey, come back here!" He exclaimed as he tried to chase after them. Just then, Vin noticed the sign. "Oh, this ain't a parking lot, you knucklehead! It's a used car lot!" He exclaimed. "Don't sweat it. We'll get it back." Dwayne said. "Yeah, we'll get it back. How are we gonna do that?!" Vin exclaimed. "However we gotta." Dwayne said. They walked into the lot and right up to Kurt and Mark. "Can we help you, gentlemen?" Kurt asked. Dwayne just glared while Vin cracked his knuckles. Kurt and Mark looked at each other and smiled slyly.
Meanwhile, as they were driving, Kirby noticed Max was wearing gloves. "Uh, Max, why are you wearing gloves? You drag race or something?" He asked. "No. I just like these gloves because they're pretty comfortable." Max said. "Guess Max thought ahead with his Turbo Touch." Stephan whispered. "Kirby, would it be okay if I drop you off at the bus stop? I wanna take my new car in for a paint job." Max said. "Sure thing, Max. I got some stuff I need to do back home anyway." Kirby said. Max pulled up to the bus stop just as the bus pulled up. "Thanks, Max. Good luck." Kirby said as he got out of the car and stepped onto the bus. "So, Max, something tells me we're not just getting a paint job." Alex said. "You got that right. I'm gonna take this baby in to get a complete makeover. And an added resistance to my Turbo Touch." Max said. "And luckily, we know just the people for the job." Stephan said.
Later, Max and the boys brought the car to N-Tek and asked Berto and Al for help. "Upgrade your ride? Our pleasure, Max." Berto said. "The only question is…where do we start?" Al asked. "Well, you can start by introducing us, bro." A voice said. The boys turned around and saw 3 triplets walk in. "Oh yeah. Boys, these are our triplet brothers, Cachi, Danilo and Eladio." Berto introduced. "We called them in to help us upgrade your new ride, Max. They're major experts in auto mechanics." Al said as Max shook hands with the Martinez Triplets. "Berto, Rayne and Al told us so much about you guys. It's so cool we finally get to meet you in person." Cachi said. "Yeah, it's nice to meet you guys too. You really think you can fix up my car?" Max asked. "You kidding?! Amigo, we're Martinez, and we're the best at what we do." Eladio said. "When we're done, your car will be just like new." Danilo said as he picked up a blowtorch and lit it up.
Meanwhile, Dwayne and Vin, covered in bruises from getting whipped by Kurt and Mark, drove up to the apartment building in a bright blue car they stole from the lot. "This the place?" Vin asked. "Yeah, that's what the paper we swiped said. Apartment 414." Dwayne said. "We're not exactly inconspicuous waiting in this thing." Vin said. "Well, what'd you expect? We were getting our butts handed to us and this was the first car I laid my eyes on. Now we just wait for this McGrath kid to show." Dwayne said. He looked through his binocs, keeping an eye out for Max. Just then, he spotted Wandella over by the mailboxes outside, going for the one marked for 414. "Must be a relative of his. Could be trouble. Go take care of her." Dwayne said. As Wandella was getting her mail key, Vin got out of the car and walked up to her. "Hey, beat it, kid, and no one gets hurt." Vin warned. "I'm sorry. You talking to me?" Wandella asked. "Go get a cup of coffee or something." Vin said, trying to push her. But Wandella grabbed his arm. "Better idea." She said, pulling him in closer and threw him at a street light. Dwayne got out of the car and rushed over to help. Vin groaned as Wandella walked up to him. "Back off, girl!" Dwayne exclaimed as he grabbed Wandella. But she punched him in the gut and pushed him away. But that caused him to rip a piece off her shirt. "The real estate girl told my mom and aunt this was a nice neighborhood. And I hate it when people lie." Wandella said as Dwayne and Vin charged towards her. But then, she ducked down and jabbed them in their guts. "Crime doesn't pay, gentlemen. It HURTS!" She shouted, tossing them back at their car. "Let's get out of here!" Vin cried as they hurried back into the car and drove off. "Cowards. And this was a new shirt too." Wandella said.
Dwayne and Vin drove into an alley. "Man, that girl and those 2 car guys are almost as bad as that tiger Mr. Winter sicked on us!" Vin cried. "Don't remind me." Dwayne said. Suddenly, Extroyer, in spider form, dropped onto the car, scaring Dwayne and Vin. They got out of the car, but Extroyer webbed them up and hung them upside down. "I told you. The name is Extroyer now!" He exclaimed before transforming back to his mutated human form. "You have not delivered to me what you were ordered to fetch!" He exclaimed. "We had it! I swear!" Vin whimpered. "But then some kid took it." Dwayne said. "I don't want excuses. I want what is mine! What will soon make me the true king of the beasts!" Extroyer exclaimed. Dwayne and Vin whimpered. "Now do what you must. But get me that case." Extroyer ordered.
Later, Max, Stephan, Yeager and Zad returned to their apartment. Vandana, Wandella and Xena were preparing dinner. "Hey, girls, we're home." Max said as they walked in. "Hey, cous." Vandana said, giving her cousin a big hug. Whitney came up and playfully started licking Zad. "Hey! Take it easy! Down, you big kitty!" Zad cried as he laughed. "Whoa. Tough day out on the streets, Wandella?" Max asked, noticing the rip in Wandella's shirt. "Meh, nothing I couldn't handle. How was your day with the boys?" Wandella asked as she taste tested their dinner. "Pretty good. I…bought a car." Max said. Vandana gasped, Wandella nearly choked and Xena spit her drink. "WHAT?!" They exclaimed. "I think we'll just leave you alone." Stephan said as he, Yeager, Zad and Whitney ran into the bedroom. "Cowards." Max grumbled. Vandana, Wandella and Xena glared at their cousin. "Look, Mom's always telling me to be more responsible. Even when it comes to protecting the city. What could be more responsible than saving my money and buying my own set of wheels?" Max asked. "Not doing it behind Aunt Molly's back while she and Mom are on their business trip." Xena said. "And especially not behind our backs, Max." Wandella said. "I was gonna tell you guys, but then it just kinda happened. I got a really good deal. The car lot owners knew Vert and Liv." Max said. "No kidding." Xena said in surprise. "Well, you are taking your driver's test tomorrow. Is the car even safe?" Wandella asked. "It's perfectly safe. In fact, Berto and his brothers are tuning it up as we speak." Max said. "For some reason, that doesn't comfort me. And Berto's my boyfriend." Vandana said.
The next day, as Max, Steel and the Ferrus Quintuplets returned to N-Tek, the Martinez brothers presented Max's new and improved car. "Like you asked, we overhauled everything so your Turbo Energy won't short things out." Berto said. "Just in time for my driver's test." Max said as he got in the driver's seat. "But then, we thought why stop there. You already got that cool Turbo Cycle. So, we figured why not a Turbo Car too. So, we installed a Turbo Interface for Steel." Al explained. "Turbo Interface." The team said simultaneously in awe. "Go on, Steel. Try it out." Berto said. Steel linked up with the interface and the car completely transformed into an awesome tank vehicle. "Complete with a head's up digital display." Cachi said. "And a hidden flip-up armory." Danilo added. "And a stealth mode that renders this baby nearly invisible." Eladio added. "And what's this do?" Max asked. He pressed the button on the steering wheel and accidentally fired 2 missiles from the car's armory and headed for C.Y.T.R.O.! Luckily, C.Y.T.R.O. shot them down before they could hit him. "That would be the fire button." Berto said with relief. "Oops." Max said. "Yeah, maybe don't do that during your driver's exam." Steel said. "Noted." Max said.
Later, Dwayne and Vin were parked outside Max's school. "Paper said that Max has the hots for a girl named Sydney. But school records show that she's out sick due to a spider bite she received on a field trip. Luckily, the paper also says that Max has an adopted brother named Stephan." Dwayne said, looking through a digital yearbook with pictures of all the students. As the bell rang, the students all exited the school. Stephan was amongst the crowd, walking with Tawny and a few other friends. "Here we are." Dwayne said, finding Stephan's picture. "See you tomorrow, Stephan!" Tawny called. Stephan waved goodbye as he started to leave. "Bingo." Dwayne said, getting out of the car. He walked up behind Stephan, getting his attention, and grabbed him before he could activate his self-defense mode. Dwayne shoved Stephan into the car as Vin drove off.
Later, Max and Steel were parked outside the driver's ed building. They were talking on the phone with Vandana. "It's just weird. Stephan should've been back by now. Something must be wrong." Vandana said. "Don't overreact, Van. I put every known combat system inside Stephan's programming. I'm sure he'll be fine." Max said. "Max is right. Right now, he needs to concentrate on his driver's test first and then my droid's unexpected delay second." Steel said. "Yeah, maybe you're right. Well, good luck, Max. We're rooting for you." Vandana said before ending the call. Steel quickly hid inside Max's backpack as the driving instructor got into the passenger's seat. "Maxwell McGrath, right? My name's Mitchell McClurg, call me Monkey. I'll be administrating your driving test today. I've heard about you from Vert and Olivia Wheeler." The instructor, Mitchell or Monkey, said. "You know Vert and Liv too?" Max asked in surprise. "That's right. But don't think that means I'll cut you a break. Remember, buster, driving is a privilege, not a right." Monkey explained. "Yes. Thank you, sir." Max said. "Right then. Pull out and turn right." Monkey said. "Yes, sir." Max said, pulling out and turning right as instructed. Monkey marked down Max's score so far. "So, uh, Mr. Monkey, how do you know Vert and Liv?" Max asked. "Oh, that's quite a story. You see, I used to race for the Metal Maniacs racing team, as well as serve as their mechanic. Vert and Olivia's racing team, the Teku, was one of our toughest rivals. We've raced numerous races during our days in the Acceleraces." Monkey explained. Steel listened closely as Monkey told Max everything.
Suddenly, Max's phone started ringing, interrupting the test. Max looked at his phone and saw that Vandana was calling again. "Ugh, seriously, Van? You couldn't wait until after my driver's test?" Max asked with a groan. "It's quite alright, Max. Better answer if there's something's wrong. I won't deduct points." Monkey said. "Really? Thank you, Mr. Monkey." Max said before answering his phone. "Hey, Van, what's going on? I'm in the middle of my driver's exam." He said. "Max! Tawny just called! Stephan's been kidnapped!" Vandana exclaimed. "Kidnapped?!" Max said in shock. "Yes! She said she saw 2 guys grab him and drove off in a bright blue car!" Vandana exclaimed. "Huh? What's she talking about? Who got kidnapped?" Monkey asked in confusion. Just then, Steel snuck up behind him and gave him an electric jolt, knocking him out. "Well, that takes care of the instructor." Steel said. "Now we just gotta find where Stephan's being taken." Max said. "Is it time to test that other feature you set up?" Steel asked with hope. "You bet, Steel. You and Stephan can contact each other like walkie-talkies. You should be able to establish contact with your Stephan droid once you link up with either me or the car's interface." Max explained. "Let's do this." Steel said. He linked with the car's interface and transformed the car into the Turbo Car. "Steel-1 to Steel-2, do you read me, Steel-2?" He called. "Loud and clear, Steel-1. I hear you." Stephan's voice said through their connection. "Great. Where are you?" Steel asked. "My kidnappers are heading south on Thompson St." Stephan said. "You get that, Max?" Steel asked. "I got them. Call the rest of the team." Max said, getting the coordinates on his digital display. He slammed on the gas and drove off towards the coordinates.
Meanwhile, Dwayne was trying to get Stephan to call Max. "Come on! Call your brother's phone now!" He exclaimed. But Stephan didn't respond. "Hey, you deaf or something?" Dwayne asked. "He must be mute." Vin guessed. Suddenly, he saw Max's Turbo Car in his mirror visor. "What?! Is that Max Steel?!" He asked in shock. "Whoever it is, lose him!" Dwayne ordered. Vin drove off, trying to lose Max. But Max was locked onto Stephan's signal in their car. "Time to see what this buggy can do." Steel said. "Like the way you think." Max said. "Then it's a good thing we're just in time, amigo." Alex's voice said on the com-link. Max looked and saw the rest of the team riding up on their motorcycles. "Welcome to the party, team. Now let's get Stephan." He said. "Right with you, Max." Zad said. As the team chased after them, Vin saw a street light ahead changing to red. He slammed on the gas and sped through the traffic. "Now what?" Xena asked as they headed for the traffic. "We go over!" Max exclaimed. He pressed a button and activated the car's new boosters, leaping over the traffic. The team followed as they did the same. "Love the work you put into that car, Berto." Rayne said. "Gracias. It was a piece of cake." Berto said. "Uh, Max, how's your passenger doing?" Vandana asked, gesturing to Monkey. "He's alright. He's out cold for the moment." Max said.
Dwayne and Vin turned right into an alley with the team following close behind. Dwayne and Vin tagged a dumpster, blocking the team. "Road block!" Iden exclaimed. "Not for long." Max said. He activated the flip-up armory and fired missiles at the dumpster, destroying it. "Hehe, they're toast." Vin said, seeing the smoke through the mirror visor. But the team emerged from the smoke, shocking him. "You guys put a flip-up armory on Max's car?" Rayne asked. "Yep. You can thank Danilo for that." Berto said. Suddenly, they drove past a news team interviewing a trucker about his bobblehead likeness. "Uh, Max, can we try to avoid the 6:00 News this time?" Steel asked. "Steel's right. Remember what Dad did the last time we made the headlines?" Zad asked. "Don't remind me. Everyone, get behind the Turbo Car." Max said. "Uh, why?" Wandella asked in confusion. "Just do it." Max said. The team shrugged and drove up behind the Turbo Car. "And let's go stealth!" Max called, activating the car's stealth mode. "It has a stealth mode too?!" Rayne said in shock. "Oh yeah. We thought of everything." Berto said. "Finally, we're in the clear." Vin said in relief, not seeing the Turbo Car or the team. "Now where are they heading?" Max asked. "Wherever it is, I hope it's away from our adoring public." Steel joked.
Later, Dwayne and Vin pulled into a hidden garage with Max and his team secretly following. "Time to give your brother our demands. Now call him or else." Dwayne threatened. But Stephan just glared at him. "What? You really mute or something?" Dwayne asked in annoyance. Just then, Stephan activated his self-defense mode and knocked Dwayne down with an elbow blow. Then he kicked down Vin. "Whoa. Stephan's really good. Especially without Steel." Alex said in awe. "Man, where does this Max kid find these people?!" Dwayne exclaimed. "Let's give him some help, team." Max said. "Go Turbo!" He and the team changed into their superhero suits and confronted the thugs. "Let the boy go and no one gets hurt." Max said. "I am…EXTROYER!" Extroyer roared, standing above the team with a large crate in his hands. "Extroyer!" Max exclaimed in shock. "That's impossible!" Vandana exclaimed. "I didn't think he survived his plunge into the Pacific either." Steel said. Extroyer threw the crate. The team leapt out of the way, but Max got hit. "Max!" Xena cried. Extroyer morphed into his tiger form and leapt down to attack. "Back off, cat!" Berto exclaimed as he and Rayne both fired thunderbolts at Extroyer. But he leapt out of the way and knocked them down with his tail. "Hey!" Iden exclaimed. Extroyer looked and saw him lunge at him with his claws. But Extroyer blocked him with his paws. "A new member of Max Steel's band of fools?" He asked. "My name's Medizon!" Iden exclaimed, firing goop blasts that knocked Extroyer back. "Ew. A relative of Toxzon, no less." Extroyer said as he recovered. "Lucky guess." Iden said as he readied his claws. Extroyer roared as he charged. Iden slashed at him, but Extroyer dodged him and swatted him with his paw, knocking him out. Just then, Alex rammed into Extroyer with rhino strength, pinning him down. "You dare attack the king of the beasts?!" Extroyer exclaimed. "You're no king! You're a common house cat!" Alex exclaimed. But Extroyer managed to kick Alex off and sent him flying into the rafters. "Oh, now you've done it, Extroyer." Wandella said, cracking her knuckles. Extroyer growled as the Mana Quints surrounded him. "Take. Him. Down." Vandana said. They readied their mana blasts and fired, but Extroyer leapt above the blasts and struck them with his spiked tail, knocking them out. He then leapt onto the crate he crushed Max with. "You've interfered for the last time, Max Steel!" He exclaimed, knocking Max out with a single swat.
Max groaned after getting knocked out as Extroyer turned towards Stephan. "Now, where did your brother hide the car?! There's something in it that belongs to me!" Extroyer demanded. But Stephan remained silent. "SPEAK!" Extroyer demanded loudly. "Uh, boss, he's mute. He can't talk." Dwayne said. "NO! HE MUST KNOW!" Extroyer exclaimed. Just then, Stephan knocked down Dwayne and Vin, and prepared to fight. Extroyer roared as he leapt towards Stephan. But Stephan leaned backwards, letting Extroyer pass right over him. "Hold still!" Extroyer exclaimed. He tried to slash Stephan, but he dodged each slash. Suddenly, Stephan activated his new move; Dual Rocket Punch. He fired his fists at Extroyer, knocking him down. New arms were grown afterwards. He then activated his jets and flew towards Extroyer, hitting him hard with his knee and knocking him out. "Go Turbo Strength!" Max called, morphing to Strength Mode and moving the crate off of himself as the rest of the team recovered. "Well, look at that." Xena said. "Stephan for the win." Rayne said. "I knew it was a good idea to add that Dual Rocket Punch." Max said. "Yeah, they really pack a…punch." Steel joked, making the team laugh.
Suddenly, there was a groan. The team turned around to see Monkey, having recovered from Steel's electric jolt, climbing out of the Turbo Car. "What just happened? How did I get here? And…why am I surrounded by the city's greatest heroes?" He asked in confusion. The team looked at each other, unsure about what to do or what to say. Suddenly, Extroyer quickly recovered, sprang up and pounced on Monkey, pinning him down. "Let him go, Extroyer!" Max exclaimed as his team got ready to attack. "Not until I get what I want!" Extroyer exclaimed. "What is so important to you that you're willing to attack an innocent civilian for?!" Rayne demanded. "Something that's in Maxwell McGrath's car! Bring it at once!" Extroyer ordered. "He probably wants the case that masked girl who kicked me took from the car before Max bought it." Iden whispered. "You're out of luck, Extroyer. Someone already took it before the kid even bought the car." Max said. Extroyer growled, getting frustrated and impatient. "YOU'RE LYING!" He roared. Suddenly, an engulfed spiritual arrow struck Extroyer, which knocked him off Monkey. "No, he's not." A voice said. The team, Monkey and Extroyer looked up, and saw the masked girl from before at the auto shop with the case, armed with a bow and arrows, standing in the window. She gracefully leapt down and landed right on her feet. "Whoa. Slick move." Steel said. "Who is that girl?" Xena asked.
"So nice of you to return what belongs to me, Katia." Extroyer said, knowing the female's name. "I'm not returning anything to you. It doesn't belong to you." Katia said venomously. "Now, now, Katia, that's no way to talk to your father." Extroyer said. "FATHER?!" The team, Monkey, Dwayne and Vin exclaimed in shock. Katia removed her mask, revealing her face. Iden feels his cheeks burn as he was blushing upon seeing her beauty. Steel scanned her, showing her DNA results to be exactly equal to Extroyer's. "It's true. She is Extroyer's daughter." He said. "My father's long dead to me. And you're not getting this case, Extroyer. I'll have Max Steel and his friends destroy it before I ever let you have it." Katia said. Monkey tried to get away, but Extroyer pinned him down again. "This is not your decision, Katia. Give me what is mine…or else." Extroyer threatened, digging his claws into Monkey's head. Katia clutched her fist with hesitation, unsure of what to do. "Max, you know that given the circumstances Extroyer went through to get that case, we probably shouldn't give it to him. But we can't just let him kill Monkey either." Steel said. "That's why we have no choice." Max said. "Give it to him, Katia." Katia looked at him in surprise. She was hesitant, but knew Max was right. She placed the case on the ground and slid it over to her mutant father. "Go." Extroyer said, getting off Monkey and letting him run to the team.
"What is it?" Dwayne asked as Extroyer shifted back to his mutant human form, picked up the case and opened it. It revealed vials of strange liquids. "Living DNA samples, extracted from the world's rarest and deadliest creatures." Extroyer explained. "Huh? We went through all this for some stinkin' science project?" Vin asked in disbelief. "FOOLS! With these, I can transform into the most dangerous animals on Earth! With these, I'll answer to no one! Not Miles Dread! Not ORCUS! Not Max Steel!" Extroyer explained. Monkey got behind Max's team as they prepared for another fight. Katia locked one of her arrows as she joined them. "Allow me to demonstrate…with this black cobra!" Extroyer exclaimed. He picked up one of the vials and shattered it in his hand, extroying the DNA, and transformed into a giant black cobra. "Yeah, I think giving him that case was a bad idea." Yeager said with worry. "Let's not dwell on the past." Max said. "Actually, let's not dwell at all." Steel said. Extroyer lunged for the team, but they leapt out of the way as Max punched him. But then, Extroyer knocked him down. "Hey! Keep your scales off him!" Wandella exclaimed as she ran up and started punching Extroyer with her mana punches. But Extroyer knocked her away with his tail and knocked her out. Alex, Rayne and Berto leapt onto Extroyer's snake body and tried to wear him down. Extroyer hissed as he tried to shake them off. "Struggling only makes us hold on tighter!" Alex exclaimed. But then, Extroyer finally managed to throw them off, knocking them out. Suddenly, a glob of goo hit Extroyer in the eye. "Monster!" Iden exclaimed as he, Yeager and Zad charged towards him. But Extroyer swatted them with his tail, knocking them aside and out. Max ducked behind a shipping crate as Extroyer turned his attention on him. "Go Turbo Speed!" He called, morphing to Speed Mode. "We got your back, Max!" Vandana called as she and Xena fired their mana blasts at Extroyer. Max ran at super speed up Extroyer's tail and bashed into his head. Extroyer tried to strike him with his tail, but Vandana and Xena blocked him with their mana shields. Monkey hid himself behind the Turbo Car as he watched the fight. "Whoa! What action! But I wonder where Max went. We were just in the middle of his driver's test before…all this." He said with confusion.
Katia kept her arrow locked on target as she watched Max, Vandana and Xena get thrown around by Extroyer. She couldn't get a clear shot. "Come on. Get out of the way." She grumbled. Suddenly, Xena was thrown right towards her. Stephan pushed her out of the way before catching Xena, knocking them both out. Katia was shocked by this before looking back at the fight. Max was holding Extroyer's jaws, keeping himself from being eaten. "Go Turbo Strength!" He called, morphing to Strength Mode, and threw Extroyer. "Nice toss, Max." Vandana said. "Go Turbo Flight!" Max called, morphing to Flight Mode. They both took off as Extroyer lunged for them. "Missed us!" Max taunted. "Did I?" Extroyer asked mockingly. Max and Vandana noticed that Extroyer's tail was tied around their legs. "I stand corrected." Max said with worry. Extroyer slammed them repeatedly on the ground. "Then again, we're not standing at all." Max groaned before Extroyer slammed him and Vandana one more time. Max morphed back to Base Mode as the slam separated him and Steel. The team groaned as they started to slowly recover. Extroyer cackled as he transformed back to his mutated human form. "Now then, how shall I finish you off?" He asked as he picked up the case. Katia saw her chance as she took aim. "Polar bear?" Extroyer said, extroying polar bear DNA. Katia slowed her breathing as she focused her aim. "Harpy eagle?" Extroyer said, extroying harpy eagle DNA. Katia cleared her mind as she gently moved her bow. "Perhaps a saber-tooth tiger." Extroyer said, extroying saber-tooth tiger DNA as well. "You're roadkill, Dad." Katia said as she fired her spiritual arrow and hit the case, knocking it out of Extroyer's hand and spilling the DNA samples. They smashed against his body and he extroyed them all at once. The team all looked on as his body started transforming. "What…have you…DONE?!" He exclaimed as he further mutated, making the team, Monkey, Dwayne and Vin, and even Katia disgusted. Just then, Extroyer just collapsed onto the ground. "Whoa! I think Katia just destroyed Extroyer." Vandana said. "I guess when he extroyed too many DNA samples all at once, it was too much for his body to handle." Max deduced. "Did you really have to do that?" Xena asked. "I had no choice. He might've been my father, but he's done…terrible things." Katia said with a bit of sorrow. "Well…it was a good shot by the way." Iden said, trying to flirt. "Thank you." Katia said, not being interested.
"Uh, if I may? Do you know where I can find the student I was testing?" Monkey asked. "Oh, yes. About that." Steel said before he gave another electric jolt and knocked Monkey out again. "Yeah, we should probably get back." Max said. He and the unconscious Monkey hopped back into the Turbo Car, with Steel linking back up with the interface. The team hopped onto their motorcycles, with Stephan riding with Vandana and Katia riding with Iden. They all took off as the police started to arrive. "I say we roll too." Vin said. "Yeah. And I say we stop working for this psycho!" Dwayne exclaimed. "I don't think that's gonna be an issue anymore." Vin said. But as they hopped in their car and drove off, Extroyer opened his eyes and growled, still alive.
Later, after changing the Turbo Car back, Max drove back up to the driver's ed building. "Uh, Mr. Monkey?" He said, gently shaking Monkey. "Huh?! Whozzat?!" Monkey exclaimed as he jolted awake. "Oh, sorry. I must've dozed off. Had the strangest dream." He said. "I guess we should probably schedule a retake?" Max asked. "Retake? Oh, nonsense. We got back in one piece, didn't we? Congratulations, Maxwell McGrath. You've passed your driver's test." Monkey said, giving Max's test a complete pass.
Later, after getting his picture taken for his license and receiving it personally, Max was preparing to drive off. Just then, someone knocked on his window. He looked and saw that it was Katia, in her civilian outfit. He unlocked the door and let her in the passenger seat. "Didn't think I'd be seeing you again." Max said as Katia put on her seatbelt. "Well, first, I wanted to be the first after Mr. Monkey to congratulate you on getting your driver's license. And…I'm sorry for kicking your friend in the groin. I was just trying to prevent my father from getting that case." Katia explained. "We understand." Max said. "Yeah. Plus, we didn't know what was going on. So, we couldn't have known." Steel said. "And it's not me you should be apologizing to. You should apologize to Iden personally for that kick." Max said. "Oh, right. I'll keep it in mind." Katia said. "So, if you mind me asking, why do you hate your father so much?" Max asked. "It's…complicated." Katia said. "Yeah, I get it. You don't have to tell us if you don't feel ready to. Part of having a license is making responsible decisions. And when you decide to tell us your story, it's your decision." Max said as he started his car and drove out onto the road. "You really have earned your license, Max." Steel said. "So, I was thinking, if you're not doing anything else, why don't you stick around, Katia? With those cool archery skills of yours, you could be a big help to our team. What say you?" Max asked. "I say…you got yourself a huntress and a priestess, Max Steel." Katia said, offering a handshake. Max accepted it, and Steel put his own hand up top. "So, where we heading, Max?" Katia asked. "Wherever the road takes us, my friend. Wherever the road takes us." Max said. Unknown to them, Dwayne and Vin drove past them, whooping as they headed their way to Vegas. "Vegas baby!" Dwayne cheered.
Later, after dropping Katia off at where she was staying and returning to his apartment, he, Steel, the Ferrus Quintuplets and Whitney all sat on the couch, watching the news as they ate dinner. "And coming to you live from Lumiose City, a tragic accident had befallen a plane that was carrying important business people." The newsman said, showing a video feed of a plane going down in Lumiose City. "Wait a minute. Guys, that's the plane Mom and Aunt Molly are on." Xena said with worry. "But strangely, some young hero had flown in with what appeared to have been wings of crimson fire and helped the plane land to safety." The newsman explained as the video showed a stranger with crimson fire wings pulling the plane to safety. "Who is that guy?" Zad asked. "We now take you to the 2 business women from Copper Canyon who attended this flight, Molly McGrath and Amelia Ferrus." The newsman said. "Ma'ams! Ma'ams! Did you see the face of the person who rescued you?" A reporter asked. "I…I'm afraid we were unable to see his face from our seat on the plane." Molly said. Max started scratching his chin, knowing that his own mother was lying. He started to wonder what other secrets were out there beyond Copper Canyon.
WOW! What'd you all think of that, huh? Max is starting his driver's test and buys a car from old friends of Vert and Olivia Wheeler, Kurt and Mark Wylde. But it was carrying a case stolen by Dwayne and Vin for Extroyer, which in turn was stolen by a masked girl. As Max takes his driver's test with another old friend of Vert and Olivia, Mitchell 'Monkey' McClurg Steel's Stephan droid was kidnapped by Dwayne and Vin. The team followed them right to Extroyer's lair, learning that he was still alive. Just then, the masked girl, revealing to be Extroyer's daughter, Katia, arrived with the case. She reluctantly gave her father the case in exchange for Monkey. The case was filled with extracted animal DNA, which would allow Extroyer to become more powerful than ever. But Katia fired a spiritual arrow and knocked the case out of his hand, causing him to extract too much DNA and seemingly kill him. After returning to the driver's ed building, Monkey gave Max a pass, giving him his driver's license. But what will Extroyer plan next if he recovers? Will Max discover more about what happened to his mom and aunt in Lumiose City? Leave a review if you want.
