"Charles 'Chuck' Brown, also referred to as Kite Man by his fascination of kites and means of using it for crimes across Gotham City and other places of wealth and fortune. Has been seen as a low leveled villain and joke due to the course of his criminal life hood, however with the recent happening of his wedding falling apart because of his bride to be Poison Ivy having her heart placed to someone else. Decided to stay out of the recent craziness that has happened in the city, meaning that he had to find a place where he would be welcomed. Though right now in the situation he was in, seemed rather unlikely."
Fission City-Morning
Flying in the air for countless hours, Charles who was still wearing his tuxedo from the tragic wedding event that ended horribly thanks to the GCPD. Though it was the look in Pamela's eyes that convinced him otherwise that it wouldn't work out between them since she didn't seem fond of him. He didn't know where he was or how long he was flying due to him being upset with the breakup, though the moment was quickly interrupted by the sound of a helicopter coming directly towards him.
"Oh crap!"
Shouting at the sight of the flying helicopter and the pilots noticing the kite flying man passing by them. Turning away quickly and avoiding crashing into the window shield, Charles manages to see where he was and how close to landing on one of the rooftops. He quickly deactivates his kite and tumbles a bit due to losing the feeling in his legs on how long he's been flying in the air. Shaking off the feeling and looking around his surroundings, Charles saw that he was in a whole different city since he didn't see anything that reminded him of Gotham City.
"Maybe I need to set up a GPA on my kite when flying."
Telling himself as he took out his phone to see where he was at right now. Pulling up the map he reads that he was in an area called 'Fission City', the only place to enjoy good surfing and enjoying the best hamburgers ever made. Surprised by the new location he was in and possibly a way to lighten himself up from the wedding incident, Charles did his best to smile at the opportunity to try and make himself happy.
"New city, new people. Let's see what this place has to offer for a kite loving man like me."
Speaking out in a confident tone as he begun to remove his tuxedo and folds it properly so that it didn't wrinkle. Having his kite suit underneath and looking ready to take off in style, Charles leapt right off the rooftop he opened his kite and flew right pass over the street getting the people's attention.
"Don't mind me! Just your everyday villain passing by!"
Telling everyone as he went by a nearby store and swipes a bag in order to put his tuxedo in since he couldn't place it in his kite pack. Taking a look around the blocks and stores he was passing by it seemed like a nice place to visit if he planned on taking a vacation here. Going up for a better look at the city, he noticed a stadium where it was having a comic book convention with hundreds of people gathered to see the events.
"A place where I can take a breather and meet normal people."
Smiling at while he may not have anyone around him that he could visit there was a place where he could settle down and think about something else than the wedding disaster that just happened several hours ago. Taking the chance he swooped in by one of the crowds to try and blend in amongst the massive crowd of fans and cosplayers, luckily enough he landed near a group of Justice League fans.
"Nice kite man costume there dude, got everything down to his pocket sauce. But it's bad timing since his wedding got shot down."
One of the cosplayers complimenting him which came from a Batman fan as Charles felt a bit hurt about the last part since it happened just a few hours ago. Not saying anything he nodded his head to the fan before heading into the convention center. Walking around visiting booths and panels seeing new stuff coming for fans, he happened to see a television showing Yawny Young and at the wedding chapel where he watched how his ex-girlfriend and her friends survived the GCPD assault.
"Hello there you Gothamite enthusiasts! You're just tuning in to what people are calling 'Gordon's Rampage' after he had all of GCPD plan a hostile ambush on the wedding between Poison Ivy and Kite Man, needless to say it ended poorly for the commissioner and Kite man after one of our camera men saw him flying away without the bride to be in his arms."
Informing everyone that the villains who attended the wedding had managed to escape without being arrested and how one of the cameras zooming in on Kite Man escaping the wedding by himself. Amongst the crowd was Charles shocked at the sight along hearing the mutterings of everyone as they talked about how he was a jerk to leaving Ivy with the GCPD.
"I don't know who to feel sorry for, Commissioner James Gordon from arresting possibly the criminals responsible for the downfall of Gotham? Or how one of the underworld's infamous women made Kite man fly away who knows where to forget this tragic scene."
Continuing on to bring up about him leaving the wedding and avoiding getting caught by the GCPD. Charles lowers his head at the mention and that it was his choice to make since he knew Ivy wasn't fully committed to the wedding. Deciding to walk away from the costumed group and find something to distract himself with, he noticed on the side was two large men in costumes that represented cartoon mascots which the two were a cat and mouse. Moving around in a silly manner and waving to people, Charles noticed something off as he noticed through the costumes was their skin.
"Weird. Last time I saw skin that looked crusty was from that lobster that came for Shark."
Charles noticing through the costume that underneath the sleeves was red like crustacean skin which found particularly odd as he found it weird for someone to be wearing a costume while having one underneath another. The only thing that came up into his mind was mutants being in town, meaning that they could be with the ninja group that he's heard from Bebop and Rocksteady during his time hanging out with the pair. While he wanted to keep his distance from Ivy and possibly forget about the wedding as well everything else, he still felt like he shouldn't let them mess around in a comic book convention. Meaning he'd have to think like Harley and try to be spontaneous along not letting things go to hell in a public place. Taking his chance he walked over to the large mascot and tried his best to not make himself noticeable or have them notice him coming by.
"Hey there guys, big fan of those two cartoons. Quite the rivals they are, especially how most of the time their chasing after one another. But also working together which is strange since the cat eats the mouse."
Starting off with a topic about their characters as the mascots noticed Kite man and tried to greet him in a kind gesture before going back to entertaining the crowd. Taking the moment to get a closer look at the cat suited man, Charles saw what looked like a red stain underneath the elbow which looked like blood.
"Guess the cat already got his fix in hunting something. Because I bet it had to be something from New York."
Trying to hint at them possibly being related to the ninja clan they are in and trying to expose their identity. Yet the two tried their best to not respond to Kite man's comments as the mouse wanted to rip off his head, yet it was interrupted by a argument happening on the side which showed two men in trunks with bruises on their faces. Talking to them about how they got hurt, one of them pointed at the mascots which spooked the pair as they made a run for it.
"Stop those guys! They stole our costumes!"
Shouting at the two as Kite man moved from the side and accidentally caught onto the mouse man's exposed sleeve which he accidentally ripped off tearing it from the suit. The people gasped at what was underneath the mascot sleeve as it was a claw, a bulk type lobster claw that looked real. The cat suit wearer merely growled at how they were exposed to the public, which left him to make a decision for the two of them.
"I'd hope we get through this convention without making any mistakes, but that's the way it goes it seems."
The cat mascot stating in lisp like tone as he decides to rip off his suit off revealing what was underneath it. Gasping at the sight and how it concealed the users appearance, everyone gasped at the reveal which was a aquatic blue skin wearing an purple leotard as the creature was a mutated swordfish. The mouse mascot growled as well deciding to remove his suit as he was a red lobster with his left claw bigger than his right claw. The pair stood back to back watching the guards coming right at them ready to take the two down while Kite man was speechless at the reveal.
"Alright Fission City listen up. Slash and Slobster are back in action and ready to cause trouble! If you want a fight, come get it!"
Slobster announcing in a aggressive manner to get the costumed people to get scared of them. How everyone wasn't afraid but laughed at the two which made Slobster sadden by the response and Slash to groan in annoyance at the people not taking them seriously. Kite man knew the feeling of being made fun of by people and trying to be serious, even if the pair were mutated aquatic creatures they were still being laughed at.
"Alright boys, fun's over. Let's get you to the lab to get both of you back to your normal selves."
One of the officers stating in a calm manner as the aquatic creatures noticed several men in uniforms prepared to detained them. Slash and Slobster moved back almost frightened by the equipment they had since it involved electrical bonds and sedatives to keep them from lashing at anyone. The swordfish tried to think of a plan since he didn't expect the uniform group to come after them while Slobster was trying his best to act vicious, sadly they weren't intimidated. Up against the wall the two prepared to go out fighting and not making it easy for the humans in trying to detain them.
"Kite man to rescue!"
Shouting from above as the crowd looked upwards seeing none other than Kite man flying in the air getting everyone's attention with his aerial performance. While most of them thought this might be part of a show, Charles focused on helping the two mutants out since it was wrong for them to be treated like jokes. Slash and Slobster saw the kite themed human continuing to distract the crowd as they took the opportunity to sneak pass and make a quick escape. Just as they managed to get into open space and heading out to the exit, the two unexpectedly didn't notice them getting swept up from their feet as Kite man latched onto them with a pair of hooks he had from his belt.
"Shit I'm flying, shit I'm flying!"
Slobster shouting scared at getting picked up as the two looked at Charles who was acting like their guardian angel. The two struggled to hold on since while it was odd for a human to be their savior, it was a risk of not making him lose focus and them dropping out of midair. Heading right out through the large windows and into the outside, Slash was holding onto the hook that was attached to him while Slobster was still freaking out at being this high in the air.
"If you don't get us splattered on the next block will tell you where to go!"
Suggesting a offer in this rescue as Kite man smiled at the suggestion as he focused on gliding pass any objects in front of him and smiling at missing the rush of escaping cops with the addition of getting into trouble. It was possibly the best thing he needed to get him out of what happened at the wedding, especially how he would have to be ready to explain himself once he lands at their lair and avoid getting eaten by them.
Later-Abandon Laboratory
Flying for the past several hours avoiding police cars and helicopters as well shot out of the sky. Charles managed to escape from the authority to arrive at a nearby lab that had been condemned for several years and deemed unsafe for the public, the perfect place for a pair of mutated sea creatures. Sneaking pass the barbed fence and the trio quickly made it inside of the building as well not having anyone see them since the three were noticeable due to their unique clothing and appearances. Walking over to a generator box to turn on the lights so they could walk around the place, Kite man was still taking a minute to collect himself from getting back in action and avoiding getting caught.
"Talk about your fast pass travels. I've carried some people whenever I was on heists and jobs but doing it for fun is different."
Rambling about that he never flew away from the cops and missing the chase back in Gotham. Though it was cut short by Slash who grabbed him by the shirt and lifted up from the ground to slam him against the wall which startled him at the sudden change of moment after escaping the police.
"Why did you help us out human? Trying to take us to a secret location where they'll open us like crabs and check our insides?!"
Demanding from Charles about the reason why helped them out in escaping from the convention. To Kite man's perspective he could tell from the space they were living in and the hostility the swordfish was expressing, the two weren't a fan of humans.
"I thought you two were mutants from New York and might want help. Possibly from the same ninja group that Bebop and Rocksteady were in."
Responding to the question which made Slash growl in annoyance before dropping Charles to the ground. Walking back trying to hold in what looked like pent up aggression, Slash lets out a tantrum as he begun to smash several boxes to the side to let out what Kite man said. Charles was confused by the personality change and noticing Slobster coming over to explain what made his friend upset.
"He's not much a fan of those two. Especially how everyone things we're mutants, we're not. We are Seaviates!"
Announcing proudly of being a seaviant which still left Kite man confused about what that was which made the lobster look at him curious of not knowing what that is. Growling at the response Kite man gave him, Slobster decided to check out the windows if anyone saw them coming in.
"So your aquatic like? Cause your using sea in the first part of the word. Which is a combination of deviant, right?"
Kite man trying to figure out what the difference was between them and mutants that he's seen in Gotham. Slash looked back seeing an interest in what they were leaving him to head over towards a old monitor that was still functional. Turning it on and showing what looked like DNA from numerous sea creatures and the genetic blueprint of what made them.
"Wrong. Because unlike the mutants you met, they were made with a mixture of humans and animals. We are actual sea creatures that had been spliced with DNA from infamous individuals. I was given the DNA of Thomas Blood, a colonel who attempted to steal the crown jewels of England."
Slash stating feeling prideful about where he got his genetics from showing a blueprint on making him. While Charles was still trying to see the resemblance between the historical figure and the talking swordfish, he looked over to Slobster who still continued to watch out for any trespassers while also getting distracted by a fly going over him.
"He got Genghis Khan. Which you can tell when he acts like an attack dog and shout all the time."
Pointing out what made him different to Slobster as the lobster was able to crush the insect with his claw and acting excited. Understanding it better, Kite man noticed another thing in the blueprints for the two sea creatures was that they were muscular on screen and twice the size of any normal person.
"One question. The screen shows you two appearing like body builders but right now, you two look like my size and not so. Beefy."
Asking about their appearance on the monitor to right now which made Slash not respond since it was a touchy subject. Slobster, having no problem with it looked at the controls connected to the monitor as he pressed the button which showed the man who was responsible for them and supposedly giving them the physic look. It was a bald man wearing a metallic eye patch on the ride side of his eye and wearing a battle suit who was working on other seaviates.
"Dr. Paradigm. He's a scientist who was obsessed with making a stronger species, also made numerous of our kind. Also had a hatred for sharks."
Introducing the human behind their creation and fighting against four shark humanoids as there numerous photos of him fighting the sharks. Each one resulted in the doctor's plans either ruined and his inventions destroyed, yet in the photos it showed Paradigm's face changing in a monstrous way with him growing gills and razor-sharp teeth whenever he was upset.
"Kinda a hard name to remember. From the look on his face he looks like a piranha, should have called him doctor Piranha. Or Piranhaoid, always liked the word 'noir', it's never used that much."
Coming up with a better name to remember which he noticed that was several names that the two came up with whenever Paradigm had his tantrums. Yet that made it more questionable that he wasn't here which the two could tell that he'd ask about his whereabouts. Slash tapped several keys showing the doctor leaving them to go off on his own agendas and continue to make new seaviates.
"The bastard left us. The more seaviates he made the less impressive we became, especially how we needed to have treatments to keep our muscles. But good riddance because he was an idiot human who tried to be strong but only lose every time!"
Slobster shouting in anger as he raised his left claw in the air and slamming it on the controls which shut off the monitor. Charles could see from the abandonment that the two were expressing they each were handling differently. He felt sad for the two having relate in being considered jokes and trying to show others he had potential to share with others.
"Don't know if it'll help but, I can be an idiot sometimes. But even I'm not dumb to leave friends behind, especially if they have their own opinions."
Admitting about being clueless in moments and trying to figure out things without help. Yet it didn't bother him in acknowledging others who help out in whatever situation he's in. While it sounded ridiculous the seaviates were caught off by what he said about himself and smiling at them.
"Compliments aside that doesn't help with what we did back at the convention. We were looking for places to go since there's nothing left here for us, so unless you have a place where we can get rid of these surfer dummies and sharks, we're done talking."
Slash stating as he was ready to kick Kite man out since he wanted to finish the moment they were having with the human. Before he could kick out of the lab and send him back to the comic book convention, Charles saw this as an opportunity to offer them help since this was something that would help the two out with their situation.
"What if I can get you a new place to live?"
Suggesting something quick as Slash didn't listen as he continued to drag him out of the building. Though Slobster stopped him from doing it since there was a chance they could find a better home then living in an old building.
"While it's not much but I have a room back in the city I'm living in. Plus that my roommate Bill might have moved out since he got a new apartment with a sky light. It's big enough you guys to possibly have some peace and quiet, especially how there tons of people that would have fun being around you guys."
Explaining about Gotham city being inhabited by not just people but superheroes, villains and creatures as well. While the apartment might have sound small to Slobster it was better than being in Fission city. Noticing his crustacean partner intrigued by the idea, Slash wasn't falling for it since it could be a trick.
"Does it look like we need anything? We're fine on our own. Just because we live here doesn't mean we can't handle ourselves, besides that none of the authority here has caught us yet. Don't see the reason to just take the offer of some weirdo that looks like a leaf."
Responding back to the offer as Slobster growled at Slash for the gesture Charles was offering them since it was better to take it than remain here. Yet it was answered by a bullet hitting the side of Slash's razor tipped nose and fortunate enough not to shoot right off. Kite man looked alarm and rushed to the windows checking out what was going on. Looking at the sight he saw several cop cars, SWAT and helicopters in the air surrounding the area along keeping them from escaping.
"Attention seaviates! Your surrounded, we know your harboring the wanted criminal Kite man. Come out and put your hands in the air!"
The officer shouting out to the three as Slash and Slobster were surprised about the human with them being a criminal just like them. It might be worthwhile to see what Kite man might offer them in the hopes of leaving the town and away from their past life. Meanwhile for Charles, he was studying the air seeing how there were too many helicopters blocking the sky and snipers on several rooftops by the side.
"This might be a little harder to get out of since they have guns, and my kite isn't bulletproof."
Telling the two about how they would get out of the situation would be impossible due to him getting shot of the sky if he tried to fly again. Noticing the unsure look on his face and seeing it be difficult to escape made Slobster excited seeing how it was his moment to take advantage.
"That place of yours, is it far away from this stink hole?"
Asking again on the offer of living in a new city which Kite man nodded quickly as it seemed like the only place to go at this point. Smirking at the sight he rushed over to the side where there was a vehicle hiding underneath a large tarp. Revealing to the pair it was a modified motorcycle with shields guarding both sides and looked durable enough to withstand the firepower outside.
"That piece of crap? Please we're better off going my way in tunneling out."
Slash suggesting that they'd follow his lead as he tries to have his nose spin like a drill. The two seaviates argued about what way they would use to escape from the authorities, while Charles was able to figure out how to use the ideas at the same time.
"Why not use both?"
Suggesting an idea on how both could be beneficial for the three men which left the seaviates confused by what he meant by the idea. Meanwhile outside was the officers waiting for orders on if they should enter despite there being two sea monsters and masked villain in the building. The SWAT officer had several of his men surround the doorway and garage door that was on the left side as several of the officers waited to go in.
"Will rush them with smoke grenades and taser the human, the other two will have to bring down fast. On my command!"
Announcing what they'll do once they enter as the officers prepared to breach into the building. Before he could announce the order, they heard a loud engine going off inside which meant the through were making their move. Coming through the garage door was Slash whose nose was spinning rapidly and going straight threw the ground tunneling like a drill. The dirt blinded the officers leaving Slobster to ride out on his motorcycle with him having Kite man holding the back of his shell.
"Open fire!"
Shouting the command as the police began to fire at the motorcycle riding lobster as the shields were protecting him and Kite from harm. Slash taking point he smashed his way through the vehicles and tunneling forward, the others followed him past several barricades in front of them. Watching the trouble that was being made and destruction going on, he almost felt like he was back in the gang.
"Do you have an idea where we're heading to?!"
Slash shouting through the drilling he was doing as the three were continuing to make pass the obstacles in their way not worrying about the authorities. Continuing to avoid anything in their way and heading out to the outskirts of the city, Kite man couldn't help but let out laughter at how he was enjoying this.
"Gotham City. Hope your ready for some real excitement, cause this a brand new start for the three of us. Hell Yeah!"
Praising at the moment and getting pumped to returning back to Gotham City with his new unusual friends. Slobster laughed as well getting excited as well in leaving Fission city and Slash muttering to himself at this being a bad idea in following a super villain to his home town. Like it or not he had no choice since this was the best thing to happen for the pair since it could get them a chance to escape their old life and by chance any enemies they've made. Meanwhile for Charles, he was smiling at the idea that meeting these two could lead to many opportunities for a new start once he returns back to Gotham city.
