The McGee's and Kai were all sitting in their living room still rattled from the ordeal that just transpired, Sharon and Pete were sitting together holding cups of tea to calm their nerves, Darryl was sitting next to Kai, fiddling with Kai's gear that was laid next to him, Molly was on the other side of Kai, unlike the rest of her family she was eager to hear a proper explanation the him about his reasons for being here, as for Scratch he was currently floating in with a bowl of popcorn as he too awaited to hear Kai's explanation but he also wanted a midnight snack too, Kai sat patiently, thinking about what just happened and how he was going to deal with it, however his thoughts were interrupted be Pete as he was the first to break the silence that fill the room.

" So, uhh...", Pete said as remember he never asked Kai for his name, "Kai", Kai says correcting Pete, "Right, Kai , you said you had something to tell us about what just happened", Pete said as he somewhat nervously drank his tea, "Yeah, like what's the deal with that ghost trying to attack Molly", Scratch said as he munch on his popcorn, " And what's with this equipment?", Darryl added as he pulled out one of Kai's katanas, unsheathing it slightly causing his eyes to shine with intrigue and excitement, "Darryl don't touch that", Sharon said as Darryl slowly and dissonantly put the katana down, Kai rolled his eyes at Darryl and began to explain everything, " Well you see McGee's, I have been sent here by The Raven Queen, The Goddess of Souls and Death", Kai said with seriousness in his voice making Sharon and Pete start to feel more concerned with the mention of death being involved," I am her apostle, her champion and it's my job to her bidding whether it to stop ghost from harming others or those who seek to disturb the order of life and death, it is my duty if not purpose in life to do complete these tasks", Kai said proudly as her meant every word that came out of his mouth causing the McGee's to be taken back except Scratch who cringed at Kai's somewhat cheesy dialogue.
"Wow, you seem really devoted to her", Molly said happily intrigued by Kai's explanation of The Raven Queen, " Of course, I am her chosen, but let not get distracted, we need to talk about you", Kai said as he looked at Molly with seriousness, the others did the same as they wondered what Kai was going to say, " Molly, my queen has sent me here to protect you, for some reason you have attached all matter of spirits to you", Kai says causing Pete and Sharon to get more nervous, " I don't know why they want you but what ever it is, it will mostly come at the cost of your life", he continued, causing all McGee's eye's to widen with fear, "So, I'm being targeted by ghosts like the one we saw tonight", Molly said, fear within her voice, " Yes and since their coming from different worlds, there is a chance they're most likely to be stronger", Molly's eye's widen, the idea of worse ghost coming after sunk in and this frightened her to her core, the rest of the McGee's felt no better.
"Can't you do anything to stop them from coming", Sharon pleaded with Kai, " Unfortunately, no but that's why I'm here", Kai responded, " I will be Molly's guardian until I find out why this is all happening and hopefully stop it", he said filling Sharon and Pete with some hope, " I will watch over and protect Molly for as long as I have too which is why I suggested she be put under 24hr lock down", Kai said, shocking everyone , " Wait what do you mean by lockdown? ", Pete questioned," I mean she has to stay in this house until I figure out what going on", Kai responded.

"Until you figure it out, just how long will that take?", Scratch said baffled by what Kai said, " I don't really know, days, months, years, there's no telling", he responded, causing everyone to be shocked by this, " Molly can't stay locked in for a year,", Darryl said, the rest of the family agreeing with him," I know it sounded ridiculous but my queen told me to protect Molly by any means necessary, so I think her staying in one place is kind of necessary, wouldn't you agree", Kai said, Pete and Sharon looked at each other, thinking over what was said, Darryl and Molly did the same, Scratch however scoffed at such a ludicrous idea," If your queen really thought by any means necessary would be ok then maybe she's crazy to think that would work", Scratch said insultingly, making Molly frown at him with disapproval, Kai however looked at him with anger and disgust, the thought of a ghost and a small one like Scratch, rattled him to his core, " You be smart to hold your tongue pudgy before I send it and you to my queen myself", Kai says bitterly as he started to get to do it ,causing Molly to put her hand in his way.
Kai looked at Molly still annoyed by Scratch comment, " You have to forgive Scratch, he can have a certain way with his words ", Molly said as she gave Scratch a look to behave himself making roll his eyes, " Now, Kai I know it your job to guard me but I can't stay locked up in here for rest of my life, I got friends, I got school, a whole life I can't just put on hold like that", she protests, " Well, Molly your gonna have to", Kai said, stunning Molly with his bluntness," You are my top priority Molly, while you may care for things like friends and school heck maybe the whole town, I don't, I care about your safety and survival, I'm not gonna risk that for something as minor as school or friends", he said disheartening Molly with his cold and uncaring answer, Pete and Sharon contemplated Kai's words and looked at Molly," Molly, maybe Kai is right", Pete said causing Molly to look at her father with surprise, " I know you want to go to school and all honey but what if a another thing from last comes to hurt you again?", he questioned, " Your father has a point Molly, we want you to be safe", Sharon concluded, Molly looked down in sadness as she stated to accept her condition, Kai looked at her feeling some sadness towards her but he knew this was necessary so he buried those feelings away, Scratch and Darryl however didn't as they too felt sorrow for Molly.

As Molly started to accept her what was going on she suddenly had an idea, a good idea and as per usual with the young girl it was driven by optimistic hope, she suddenly looked up at Kai, confidence in her eye, she proposed her idea, "Kai, what if you use me as bait", she said making everyone surprised especially Kai, "WHAT!", He said in disbelief, " Yeah, WHAT!", Scratch added on," Think about it, if these ghost are coming after me you can follow me, see them before them they attack, you get to figure out why they're after me and I get to live my life", she said, Kai was now taken aback by this as well as everyone else, " Also you'll be right with me all the time and not in one single place", she continued, " So what you say, is that a good idea?", Molly concluded, Kai thought back and forth about it, as he weighed his advantages and disadvantages, "Hmm... maybe she has a point, fighting these ghost in a small place like this would put me in a disadvantages especially with the McGee's here plus if we out in the open, the ghost are more likely to go to her, I'll see it coming for the most part and I can still do my job", Kai thought to himself.
After a minute of thinking, Kai looked towards Molly parents, "Mr and Mrs McGee, are you ok with this option?", he said looking for a second opinion, Pete and Sharon looked at each other, debating the idea of their daughter offering herself as bait, they then looked at Molly and saw her desperation to not be a prisoner in her own home, they saw this and asked her if she was ok with this, Molly nodded with seriousness, they looked at each other with agreement, "We're ok with this Kai, you can follow Molly but on one condition", Sharon said causing both Kai and Molly to raise an eyebrow, "Please protect our daughter", both parents said, Molly smiled at her parents concern, Kai signed, " I guess you get to have it you way Molly,", he said accepting her idea, Molly jumped and hugged her parents, only to then hug Kai as well, Kai didn't know how to react to this so he just let her hug go by.

Darryl yawned as he was falling asleep throughout the conversation, " Is it sorted now can we go to bed now?", Darryl said as Pete guided him to bed, " Wait, where's Kai going sleep?", Molly said, Kai quickly stepped up, " With your parents permission Molly I was hoping to sleep in your room, these ghost could strike at any time, I want to be close so I can protect you if need be", Kai said as Pete and Sharon thought about it, " Molly are you okay with that?", Pete asked, Molly looked at Kai and thought about their encounter today, she thought about his supposed loneliness he mentioned before and his dedication to protect her, " I'm okay with it, it will be like having a new friend over for an extended sleepover", she said making both Kai and Scratch roll their eyes, they both notice the other and quickly look away from each other with a humph.
Everyone now was ready for bed and walked or in Scratch case floated to their rooms, Kai followed Molly and Scratch to the attic, when he reached the top, he saw the of state of Molly's room, despite it small size, cute plush toy and positivity posters, he thought it would serve as a place of rest besides he's rested in worse places, " Aaaah, finally I can get some rest, today was a dozy", Scratch said as he floated passed Kai and went into his little doll house, Kai looked at the little house with bewilderment but put it aside as he felt something poke him, he turned around to see Molly holding a pillow and two blanket of cute and bubble design, " I went to go get you a blanket but a I didn't know what design you wanted so I brought both, are you a kitten fan or puppies kind of guy?", Molly said as she as presented the blankets, Kai looked at both designs, they were both odd to him, " I don't need a blanket, I'm fine as I am", he said as he walked next to her bed sat on the floor with his legs crossed, put his stuff beside him and closed his eyes, Molly only looked at Kai in a confused way, Kai could feel her eyes staring at him, " If your wondering what I'm doing I'm trying to contact The Raven Queen, my soul will be transferred to her realm while my body rests", he explained, Molly just nodded and gave a small smile as she turned off the light and got into bed.
As she lied down she said a goodnight to Scratch who followed in kind, when she got to Kai she didn't hear anything, as she turn to face him, his body was still, it was as if he was meditating, Molly say this and got up and placed a blanket around him, with that she smiled and went back to bed and awaited what lied for her at school.
