Two Months Ago - Recommendation Test

"Are you looking down on us or something." A boy said picking Shoko up by her collar in a tense situation, as the other recommendation students were watching. She had no clue what this boy was talking about, when she looked around the others had the same looks as her, they were as indifferent to what was happening as she was. "Leave it to the number two's daughter to get special treatment." He shouted, touching a nerve in Shoko. Her indifference took a turn for the worse.

"What are yo-" Before he could explain this to the supervisor her forehead connected with his nose, not full force but enough for him to release her. He dropped to a single knee holding his nose checking if it was broken not realizing that Shoko had an orange flame-supported kick aimed at his head. "Stop right there!" the supervisor shouted before the kick could do any damage to the boy. "Yoarashi-san… Todoroki-san, would one of you explain to me what is going on?" A woman said as her voice came from a figure in a space suit.

A green-haired girl came to the rescue as she explained the situation. Apparently, the Recommended students were in the middle of their practical when the boy, Inasa Yoarashi, took exception to Shoko not having to take the tests, feeling that she was getting special treatment because of it. "And you saw what happened there…" The green-haired girl spoke nonchalantly, looking at Shoko with a grin. She wasn't going to defend Shoko in the beginning but she took an interest in the girl after watching the confrontation.

"Is that true, Yoarashi-san?" The woman in the space suit asked Inasa, he nodded in response. She sighed, apparent that the job of a supervisor was supposed to be a lot simpler than this. "Do you realize that those of you here are not any more special than the students that take the exams for this school?"

"Bu-" Inasa tried to say but was cut off.

"U.A., this school does not treat those who come from a hero or a well-off family any differently as any other U.A. student. And if you believe that to be true then that is something that you need to prove with actual evidence. In a hero's line of work, assumptions and preconceived notions are the death of a career and you will do your best to remember that." She looked at Shoko as Inasa stood to his full height. "Todoroki-san here was in a coma not too long ago and her doctors advised us and her against the use of her Quirk." Inasa looked shocked at Shoko as the woman finished. "So we had her come in for the written exam and will be doing her practical at a later date."

Inasa understanding the situation frowned at the mistake that he was making by what he was doing in this situation, he was too late though. The school's principal had overheard the conversation and was now near the site of testing with a mischievous grin on his face and two students behind him. "I hear we have a problem here..." He paused with the soon-to-be second-year girls right behind him. The attending teacher explained the situation to him as Inasa stood in place like a child awaiting punishment. The bear/mouse/dog hybrid chuckled to himself at the thought that one of his students or staff gained their position because of nepotism, the thought tickled him pink. "That's just fine then, Thirteen." He said addressing the teacher before looking at Inasa. "This can always be solved in a show of talents..." He turned to the girl on his left, a maroon-headed teen with gold almond eyes and soft features as if to confirm something with her. "Miss. Mori?" Nezu Asked her.

"Yes Nezu-san?"

Nezu chuckled before making his inquiry. "If Miss Todoroki were to get physical today would you kindly keep it from your mother?" The man asked.

Mori looking confused took one look at Nezu than at Shoko recognizing her almost immediately. With a knowing smile, she looked down at her principal understanding his meaning. "If she does not overdo it, or gets injured then I can pretend that I never saw her." Mori said with a large smile, with the other girl confirming the same with a nod.

"Then I have a proposition for the both of you, I wanted you two to settle this with a little bet." Nezu said as Thirteen sighed, knowing what the principal had in mind. Without waiting for an answer he continued. "In the light that you would believe that one of our students would be considered incapable of standing with the alumni that have graced our halls, I want to test that what you believe is true with a little sparring match, loser apologizes to the winner." He said with what was most likely a massive grin.

Inasa appeared distraught at the challenge and looking at Shoko's compliance he had no choice in the matter, he had no clue how competitive that U.A. was, and the fact that this would be something that the principal of the school would suggest made him almost regret becoming a recommendation student in light to the lengths and hops that he might need to go through in the future.

On the other hand, Nezu knew what the boy was thinking, and he could not help but feel sorry for him. It's not every day that a student would have been offered a spot at a top-ranking school in Japan and the fact that he had not figured that the role of such a student would be this bothersome. "What do you say? You two figure out if you are both qualified to stand with the rest of your peers in these halls of learning." Nezu questioned with a smug expression on his maw.

Shoko was the first to answer positively, the reference to what she thought was him suggesting that she would use her father's name to get ahead still bothering her. "I will be more than willing to prove that I belong here at U.A.." She said looking at the principal with a neutral face.

Nezu did not see that coming so he asked her to confirm that she was putting her spot on the line over what he thought was a minor spat. He had looked into her past when he got the recommendation letters, but he figured that her family situation was not as bad as it seemed on paper, it was worse. "Do you mean that if you were to lose today you would be giving up your spot as a recommendation?" Nezu asked getting a nod. He sighed before turning his attention to Inasa who was dumbfounded by the girl. "What about you Mr. Yoarashi?" Nezu tried to confirm with the boy who was sweating bullets.

"Well... Uhhh... I guess..."
