Disclaimer: We don't own Danny Phantom or Monster High.
I never thought I'd spend a day away fighting ghosts to meeting up with a ghost girl. Danny thought as he stared out the window of the Fenton ship.
The Specter Speeder zoomed at tremendous speeds, stretching as Jazz piloted the rocket. They were 50,000 feet into the air as they soared past state borders, guided by the voice of their father through AI navigation. In a matter of hours, they would arrive at the address given by Frankie.
The ghost boy could have flown all the way over, but he did not want to venture into the monster world tired. With little choice, he opted to take his parents' specialized, antigravity, rocket powered ship: the Specter Speeder.
A marvel of engineering and technology; it was a shame that it could not be massed produced. Not that he nor Jazz could understand the physics defying science behind the engine. Not even Tucker, for all his love of technology, could grasp an understanding of the ship's inner mechanics.
For all his ramblings about ghosts, Jack Fenton had a mind for theoretical science. Or as the man would call it, Fenton science. Hard to say since neither Danny nor Jazz never really paid attention to their father's ramblings. Good thing their mother could keep up.
However, these details were not important as the siblings neared dense forests of their destination. A sea of green trees were seen for miles, untouched by human society. From the sky, a small opening was seen, with what looked to be a coffin shaped campus, surrounded by tall gates.
"I'm guessing that's Monster High?" Jazz had a raised brow.
"I guess so." Danny squinted his eyes at the scene. "Then, that's my cue to drop in. I'll be in touch."
Jazz nodded as she watched her brother phased through the hull and flew down. Hovering in the air, she settled into place, the ship parked in the air as she took out a psychology books she packed. Every so often, her eyes found themselves glancing out the window, noticing more buildings, miles within the vicinity of the school.
Landing on the crisp green grass, the scenery in front of the ghost boy greeted him like a postcard. When he heard the words Monster High, he instantly imagined a dark dreary castle with a swampy atmosphere, monster bursting from every door and window under the moonlight.
He got the castle part right, except there was green grass and a statue out front. Monsters were not dressed in stereotypical rags, he saw in movies, but stylish clothes of different fashion sense, like the cliques back in high school.
If not for the horns, claws, fur, fangs, or other unique feature littered amongst the crowd, it would look like a regular human high school. Though the two factions growling and hissing at each other blurred the line between reality and movies.
"Huh? Werewolves and Vampires looking for a fight," Danny commented, walking up to the entrance. "I guess monster movies got some things right. Too bad it's more of a letdown."
His glowing green eyes returned a few stares. Evidently, the ghost boy realized his black and white hazmat suit and chest symbol stuck out like a sore thumb. A few snickers and laughs were heard in stereo from the student body as he made his way to the doors. There, Frankie was seen standing, waving her hand at him.
"Danny, you made it!" Frankie spoke with the same enthusiasm from Halloween night.
Danny blinked as he saw the Frankensteinian girl. He remembered the battered, torn lab coat she wore during Halloween, along with the scant glimpses of stitched skin he may have seen. A loud gulp was made as he saw the ghoul's wrist sewing loosen in her greetings.
The ghoul had her long black streaked-white hair down. Her outfit was like a school uniform: a minidress separated into two sections. The top was black stitching with fishnet puff sleeves that complimented the lower section, a frilled, turquoise-green and black, plaid skirt with fishnet trimming at the bottom. With a white-polka-dotted, black necktie with a Skulette-shaped silver pin, diamond-studded, black belt with a lighting-bolt-shaped silver buckle with chains hanging from it, and rather peculiar set up as her shoes, black and white striped platform heels with straps, the standards of monster fashion were upfront and center.
The boy couldn't help giving a few studious glances at the ghoul. A small whistle echoed in his mind. No one ever dressed up like this back in Amity Park.
"Wow...definitely didn't dress for the occasion," Danny muttered, now noticing the curious glance Frankie was giving him.
He took a step back. "What?"
"Nothing...it's just that...is that all you wear?" Frankie asked with a pointed finger.
Danny said nothing. As far as Monster High was concerned, his Phantom outfit was the only thing he wore. This was new territory. He needed to play things close to the vest. And besides, he never saw a need to change his attire.
"It's ok...If anything, Clawdeen can help you with some fashion tips," Frankie replied, taking out her iCoffin. She sent sent a few text then turned her attention back to Danny, who bore a deadpan face.
The ghost boy rolled his eyes as he turned, noting some of the preppy clothes he saw on vampires hissing with their heads up high at some punk/greaser werewolves. The latter growled with clawing arms. At this point, he would not be surprised to see a cheerleaders in goth outfits.
"Don't worry about them," Frankie interjected. "They're just getting used to how we do things at Monster High."
The doors swung open, interrupting Danny's thoughts as a human boy ran out, panting. Dusting off his bold fashion sense, a button-up, yellow shirt that was half untucked. Fixing his appearance, mainly his mop of black/dark brown hair and glasses, the boy was huffing as he glanced at Frankie.
"Sorry, I'm late, Frankie," The boy panted. "Manny was looking for me. I think he has some questions about this halfa you were talking about."
"Ahem." Danny coughed, alerting the boy to his presence.
"Oh, sorry about that," the boy said in a meek tone, adjusting his glasses. He held out a hand as he said," I'm Jackson Jekyll...a...half human at Monster High. Well, the only one, actually."
Now that got Phantom's attention as he shook the boy's hand. a small smirk crept onto his face.
"I thought you'd have some trouble fitting in, so I asked Jackson to help. He's a really nice guy," Frankie said, getting in between the boys.
"Just watch out when you play music," Jackson interjected.
"Music?" Danny tilted his head as he let go.
"It's...a...long story. Honestly, we're still trying to piece together everything."
Frankie, in her childish excitement, reached out to bring Phantom forward, only for her hand to go through him. She flashed an innocent smile, which almost brought down the ghost boy's guard. Almost.
"Hey, relax. Monster High is a place for everyone. I want you to see that." She turned, gestured to the doors, still wide open. "Now come on! Time to show you what Monster High's all about!"
"Okay, sounds good...I guess." Danny scratched the back of his neck as he followed his guides.
The halls of Monster High were decorated in the same gothic aesthetic. Coffin-shaped lockers were stacked in rows of two along the walls. If not for the monster students grabbing their things, it could pass for a morgue. Web like curtains and tall glass windows brought an eerie light inside, adding a slight macabre glow.
But the main take away was a mix of tension and dread that hung in the air.
Splitting off the main path, there were hallways either had regular corners or a stone border at the entryway. A selected few seemed to be filled with werewolves at all times. Anyone peeking at the pack was met with a growl, as Danny found out the hard way.
"Oh, careful with those halls. The werewolves marked most of them," Frankie explained.
"Marked?" Danny cringed as he floated back to peer into one of the alleys. Past the snarling lycan guards in the front, he spotted a werewolf girl spraying the walls with a perfume bottle. instantly noticed by her, the ghost boy turned away and went back to the group.
"I really hope that's just perfume..." He muttered.
"It is. Don't worry about it," Jackson answered, pushing up his glasses. "It's a werewolf thing."
"Like I said, they're new. We got a lot of transfers this week." Frankie reached out again, forgetting in her excitement how futile the act was. Her hand went through the ghost boy as she walked away, oblivious to her inaction. "Come on. We still have so much to show you!"
Danny sighed, sharing a glance with Jackson. The other boy had been quiet, smiling with content. Whatever was on his mind, he did not share. There was the possibility that he was happy to have another half human on campus, but why was he the only one?
The answer was inconsequential as the ghost boy focused more on the hallway around him. Contrasting the spread of monsters, groups of vampires were strutting in pairs with zombies followed. The latter weighed down by books and bags as they lurched slowly. Invisible to the servants, the preppy blood suckers were laughing at jokes as they crossed paths with other vampires.
"I'm guessing vampires are Monster High's...A-listers?" Danny snarked with a pointed thumb.
"A-Listers? The vampires are just doing their own thing," Frankie sucked in her breath as she looked around. "Yeah...According to Draculaura, vampires are an aristocratic group of monster that show dominance with...other monsters." The ghoul looked to a group of five zombies lagging behind another pair of laughing vampires.
"Zombies are easily manipulated," Jackson sighed, adjusting his glasses before muttering. "I'm just glad they're not bothering me."
Werewolves from nearby halls threw insults at the vampires before a debate of growls and hisses began again. Nearby students backed away, walking around the scuffles.
"And that?" Danny pointed with weakening interest.
"That's just how
Danny surveyed the area as he noted the distinction between the poshly dressed vampires and the "minions" they had following. It was like what the jocks did with the nerds and geeks, except no one dressed like the vampires did. An old saying the more things change, the more they stay the same echoed in his mind.
But one person came to mind. A flash of blue with white fangs and the ghost boy twitched his fingers as ectoplasmic energy circulated brightly. Frankie held out her hand, but stopped, staring at the pulsating glow.
"Are you alright?" Frankie put her hand away. Jackson shivered from behind the ghoul as he gulped loudly.
"I'm fine." Danny waved them off. "Why don't we just...go on with the tour."
"OK. There's still a lot to show you, and Headless Headmistress Bloodgood gave us the entire day to show you around," she said, gesturing for the boys to follow.
"Wait. Headless or Headmistress? I'm confused," Danny said, floating after the girl as Jackson followed.
"Once you see her, you'll understand." Frankie clapped her hand together. For a moment, sparks of electricity jolt in her smile. "Now, on with tour through Monster High."
As the trio walked through the halls, Danny came to see Monster high like a big movie set. Every room, hallways, closet, and etc had a creepy and gothic vibe to it. The level of macabre décor was never the same, scaling from human-parallel to ghoulishly twisted.
"I'm not even sure what this school teaches, but I'm positive that I'd fail if I ever went here," Danny said, flinching when he saw a mad butcher as one of the teachers. He could feel his ghostly powers building out of reflex.
He jumped as a delicate, stitched hand ran through his torso, almost hurting the ghoul if not for restraint. The Frankenstinian girl gasped as she turned. "Are you alright?" she asked.
Glowing green eyes blinked and a nod came, cutting the tense moment as a white smile sparked up. The monster girl paid no mind as she beckoned for the tour to continue, ignoring the near attack she may have faced.
Seeing the ghoul in the school gave him a new sense of her person, or monster, as she addressed the various places in Monster High. Where ever she went, Frankie seemed to have good standing with most of the students, even waving to some of them as they greeted her.
It almost made the ghost boy wonder about the social quo in the monster world.
The tour seemed to go on like normal as they stopped at the gymnasium. The doors to the gym seemed like average human doors, which struck Danny as odd given the various shapes and sizes of the monsters he saw.
"And this is the gym. Where we have Physical Deaducation," Frankie said.
That was one thing that elicited confusion from the ghost boy, the monster slang. For a moment, it sounded more like necromancy than gym class, but both sounded equally painful to him.
Like the rest of the school it had a creepy and gothic vibe to it. Or he felt that was supposed to be the theme as he noticed bright yellow painted the walls and ceiling. There were windows with stoned borders and drapes. And it seemed there were goth cheerleaders and jocks included. However, with the basketball players' case, they came in large to triple-extra large with most towering over him.
"I think I had a nightmare about this once," Danny groaned. He could hear Jackson mumbling in agreement as the boy's postured lowered in a shielding motion.
"Hey Frankie!" Was heard by the bleachers. Frankie waved over as she saw Clawdeen, Draculaura, and Lagoona.
"Hey everyone!" Frankie said as she guided the boys over, but the ghost boy kept his eyes on the other end of the room, listening to the dribbling of the ball between the gigantic werewolves.
"Sup ghoulfriend," Clawdeen greeted, noting the guys behind. "I see you're having fun with...wait, is that all you have to wear?" She said, going over Danny's hazmat jumpsuit. Turning to Frankie, she said. "You weren't kidding in your text."
"Is this gonna be a thing?" Danny smacked his shaking forehead. He choked back his words, holding in his quips and snarky tone from going at the monster's attire.
"So...cheerleader. You're all cheerleaders?" he asked slowly, a couple beads of sweat forming on his head's side.
"I think you mean fearleading," Draculuara corrected with a pointed finger.
The ghost boy blinked, staring blankly into space as his face fell. In his fights, there had always been time for puns, quips, and barbs to be traded, but this was starting to feel different. The girls, or in this case, ghouls stared blankly at the silent visitor.
"Should I start calling myself Alice? This is starting to look like Wonderland," Danny snarked. His eyes were half lidded as he looked away.
A blue wisp wafted from his mouth, lingering towards the door where Spectra phased through at breakneck speed. With an unearthly moan, all but Phantom were startled as the ghostly reporter invaded the ghost boy's personal space.
"Why didn't anyone tell me Phantom arrived?" Spectra shrieked as she readied a recorder.
"Where is he and do you think he'd be open to an exclusive interview?! Seriously, why am I just finding this out now?!" The ghost girl's ectoplasm blurred in motion as she eventually noticed her query on her right. Her red face backed way as she took a deep breath.
"S-Sorry, Spectra, but you were busy and I figured it would be easier to show Danny around first but—"
"Hey!" The gym doors were kicked open as an enormous horned figure walked over. His voice bellowed in the gym. "I hear another normie is here."
This particular monster Danny remembered from some of Lancer's classes. A Minotaur: half-man, half-bull, and apparently all monster with eyes that were seeing red.
"Hey, Manny," Clawd greeted with a clawed hand up. "You ready for casketball practice?"
Manny stormed past the werewolf without a word, leaving the latter hanging. The other ghouls jumped in front to barricade in vain as the bull-headed boy ignored them, staring at the ghost boy while he forced his way through. His piercing blue eyes were reminiscent of another pair on Casper High's quarterback. However, this time, there were looking at Phantom, not Fenton.
Manny stomped on his last step, a foot away from the half-ghost. "So, you're the new normie, huh?" He said, leaning over. A puff of air was snorted into the latter, combing back snowy white hair for a moment. "Scrawny, ain't cha?"
"Let me guess. This is how you say hello," Danny snarked.
That only enraged the Minotaur he gritted teeth in a snarl. Horns were lowered as one leg swept the ground.
"No, but let me show how Minotaurs fight," Manny challenged.
Danny held two fist out. Channeling his ghostly energy, he flew up to the minotaur's eye level, both now glaring at each other.
"Danny? What are you doing?" Frankie almost held her face as her bolts sparked as she boldly proclaimed her words. She got in between the boys, pushing them to give some distance, only to one hand to go through the phantom's legs with the other not strong enough to shove against the Minotaur's entire body weight.
It was only when Clawd stepped in that Manny stood back up, teeth still snaring. But Frankie was the one who stared at him with sparks discharging from her neck bolts.
"Manny, enough! What would Minnie say?" Though her tone was soft, Frankie's stern words cut through Manny's temper as his face softened.
"You guys aren't gonna tell her?" The minotaur's voice shook nervously as his nose ring was pulled down by one stitched finger.
"We will unless you watch the bullying," Frankie warned, sparks on her neck bolts crackling louder.
"Please don't tell her! She'd totally tattle on me to Mom!" Manny pleaded.
"Exactly! So stop being a jerk!" Sparks flew as the bull boy's fur standing on ends.
Danny stared perplexed at the towering werewolf in front of him. It seemed there were no real distinct weight classes in the monster world. Still, Clawd did not present neither fangs nor claws as he stared down at the ghost boy, indicating a peaceful interference.
The ghost boy was equally surprised to see the super friendly Frankenstein's monster teen girl suddenly standing up for him against a monster, who was easily three times her size.
Wow, I definitely wasn't expecting Little Miss Frankenstein to talk down a raging teenage minotaur like an overgrown child. Monster High really is different from Amity Park. Danny thought to himself, before refocusing on his surroundings as Clawd walked up to him.
"Dude, what was that about?" Clawd asked, pointing behind him with a thumb. "I get Manny has issues with normies, but you looked more like you were about to vaporize him."
The ghost boy shrugged, dimming his hands as arms folded. "It's just how I do things. In case you haven't heard, ghosts don't come over with open arms or plates of pie."
"Not all of them!" Spectra chimed in, making Clawd jump back as she sprouted ethereally from his abs. "And here in the monster world, not all monsters cause trouble."
Danny sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. A deep breath later, his glowing green eyes stared at the duo as Frankie walked over. "Ok, look. I get that you guys are peaceful, but that guy looked totally ready to duke it out. What did you expect me to do?" His words were said as a statement than question.
"You could've talked it out," Frankie started.
"Yeah. I mean, Monster High is a place for everyone." Clawd looked to a couple of werewolves. Contrary to his words, these wolves did not seem to share the same sentiment as they turned away.
Danny had to fight his eyes from rolling. He knew the monsters meant well, but his instincts were half on edge in case of a fight. This was still the heart of monster central, and Phantom's reputation in the Ghost Zone was mixed, at least.
With two hands held up, he shook his head, eyes closed. "Not really. It's just things are back in Amity Park," he said.
"That doesn't mean anything here." Draculaura had walked up with Clawdeen to back up their friends.
The term normal had to be rehammered into Danny's head. It had not been that he was having a hard time understanding that things were peaceful, partially due to the tension he felt beforehand, but rather trying to ignore his instincts. And they all screamed to keep a guard up.
And it was hard to control defensive habits when a Minotaur challenged you to a fight. So it was either a red cape or red shirt.
"Sorry," Danny said with hands up. "This is just gonna take some time."
To his surprise, the monsters waved it off. Frankie smiled as her stitched hand went to his shoulder before pulling it back. She remembered how her palm would just be phased through.
"Don't worry about it," she said. "We have all day. It's not like trouble's gonna walk right in."
Like karma or a cosmic cue, the doors once again opened as Torelai and her feline posse were seen at the entrance.
"Meow. What do we have here?"
Yeah...sorry this is late. It was supposed to be updated on Halloween. My bad. I dropped the ball on this one. Anyway, I'm still happy to see this fic updated. That's all for now. If you wanna support me, copy and paste the link on my profile page.
My Fullest Scare-tastic Greetings and Salutations to all the Readers of this Fanfic Story! It Me again, JTAF, here appearing with BCFW, hoping that all of you are having a wonderfully Spook-tacular Halloween with all of your loved ones. Sadly I'm not going outside getting candy from neighbors and strangers, but I am chaperoning my nieces and nephews on their trick-or-treating. But I am sad about the sad passing of Akira Toriyama, the Creator of "Dragon Ball". Thankfully I watching "Dragon Ball Daima" and "Sand Land: The Series" and both anime shows have been helping me cope with the lost of one of my favorite Japanese Manga artists. Anyway Happy Holidays everyone and remember to take the wrappers off the candy before eating them.

Your questions: Yep. More like they were being over enthusiastic. They aren't sure how Danny will react at Monster High. Don't watch enough Death Battle to give a proper answer. Same as the last answer. Can't say for sure. Nope. They made the Thermos to catch ghosts for examination, not for sending them back to the Ghost Zone immediately. If they did, Jack and Maddie would have said something already. Nope. Ok.
