Chapter 3 a job is a job

Looking shocked I said, "no- no by the gods no! Veronica is that you!"

Veronica looked at me with tears in her eyes before saying Satsu one-chan! It is you!" before running into my arms crying.

I was in shock it was my baby sister!

Looking at her I said, "Veronica what are you doing here?"

Veronica looked at me and said, "I should be asking you the same thing! When did you come to hell!"

Stuttering a bit I said, "w-well I didn't exactly come to hell…I was in heaven for a couple days before leaving for hell…"

Veronica looked at me with raised eyebrows and said, "are you fucking kidding me! I ended up in hell after selling my soul and you went to heaven after killing loads of people!"

Veronica then noticed Thana and said, "wait what is she doing here!"

Confused I said, "ummm she's my business partner"

Veronica then walked up to Thana and said, "this is where you have been going! You have been staying here for months! And you have been staying with my brother! Why didn't you tell me!"

Thana chuckled and said, "well because I wanted your brother all for myself"

Before grabbing Veronica and shouting, "Obviously I didn't know he was your brother!"

I then sat back down and said, "Veronica it is really good to see you"

Veronica looked at me coldly and said, "save it you bastard! Do you have any idea what it was like! You left at 18 not even bothering to try and say hi or even bother with a concert!"

Confused I said, "concert?" and suddenly got slapped.

Veronica cried and said, "I was the great pop idol Hana+chu2! Did you not realize it was me!" I stuttered a bit and said, "wait that was you!"

Veronica was on the verge of crying saying, "14 years! 14 fucking years and you didn't even bother to check in and now I find out you're a kingpin of an expanding district!"

I kept my cool and said, "oh you think I'm bad! You come down here and become the fourth member of the vees! Do you have any idea how distrustful they are!"

"oh your one to talk! Do you have any idea what your decision did to mom!" Veronica said yelling at me.

I stormed up to her ready to kill her and shouted, "oh you did not bring up mom! How fucking dare you!"

Thana then shouted, "Enough! That is enough!" before hitting both of us in the jaw.

Thana then said, "you two are siblings! Yeah one of you went to heaven and the other went to hell but that shouldn't matter! You two are her and alive, and extermination is in 2 weeks!"

I took a deep breath and said, "he's right…as much as I hate to say it Thana is right…look we may have been apart then but now we're together…. We should be working together."

Veronica sighed and said, "I guess your right…look I got a concert that I need to do but…we really do need to talk some more one-chan" before giving me a hug and leaving.

I then looked at Thana and flicked her forehead as another extermination came and went this time feeling more brutal than years before. Yet because of my mercenaries training New Hokkaido stood tall.

An angel ran through the streets of New Hokkaido looking for an exit as her wings were broken.

"boss the angel is heading your way be ready!" one of mercnearies said.

Nodding my head I used my own magic to create a huge fog and hid as the angel came by crying.

"shit this was supposed to be an easy job! In and out all I had to fucking do was kill that bastard Satsujin and then leave! God damn it!" the angel cried.

Taking a deep breath I started to sing, "Sleep, my darling, tiny one Tucked within your bed so tight Else the ol' grey wolf will come And grab you by your side"

As I walked around the angel cloaked in mist I could sense her fear her hatred as she stabbed at the smoke shouting, "come out Satsujin Adam wants your fucking head!"

Using one of my swords I calmly sliced off her wings and continued to sing as she ran away with me in pursuit, "He'll snatch you up between his teeth If on the bed's edge you sleep And drag you to the forest deep Beneath the quaking tree" before throwing a bunch of throwing needles at her Achillies piercing it and causing her to limp.

"wait am i- am I dying how is that possible! I am an angel immortal unable to die how am I dying!" the angel muttered as I emerged from the fog finishing the song by saying, "So, close your eyes and fall asleep Count the little wooly sheep Tucked so tightly you must keep Or he will come for you" before slicing the angel's head clean off.

Looking up the sky I watched as the angel's started to disappear, we had survived another extermination day.

Returning to my estate and to my living room I felt a pain in my chest as I heard Carmila carmine's voice saying, "satsujin its time to serve me again, come on by my office."

Groaning I looked at Thana who was asleep on my couch and said, "I'm going out, boss is calling me don't go through my liquor."

Thana groaned keeping a thumbs up before falling back to sleep. The girl acted like a bum sometimes, but she was a good friend. Walking to my walkin closet I picked out my best suit and put it on along with my best weapons, holstering my guns and swords and getting my mask.

Using wado Urumasa to fast travel into carmilla's office I was greated by her two daughter Odette and Clara who smiled at me.

The two girls then rushed me hugging me saying, "Uncle Satsu! It's good to see you again! Looking as dashing as ever!"

I chuckled patting the girl's heads and said, "by lucifer you two have grown how long has it been since I have seen you?"

Odette chuckled and said, "two year uncle two years!"

I chuckled and said, "you know no matter how many times you call me that I still can never get used to that name…uncle."

Clara giggled and said, "well mother sees you as family and as such we see you as family uncle."

I smiled and looked at Carmilla who was sitting at her desk with a stack of papers and going over some documents, my severed wing still right behind her in glorious condition.

Carmilla looked at me and said, "surprised its still pristine? I wouldn't want something that beautiful to go to waste."

I chuckled and said, "as long as I am alive my wing will never even start to decay my lady, so to what do I owe this summons…did someone steal another one of your shipments?"

Carmilla shook her head and said, "two things firstly I want to congratulate you on surviving another extermination as well as thank you for the live angel specimens your mercenaries delivered to me, cannibal town and the Vees tower."

I chuckled saying, "heaven sends so many of them down here I bet they won't miss a couple."

Carmilla chuckled and said, "gives me a new test subject to test new guns on but secondly I want you to deliver these" before handing me a bunch of letters.

"Who to, and may I know the context of the meeting?" I asked as I looked at the letters.

Carmilla chuckled and said, "these letters will be going out to the other overlords and as for the context it will be dealing with the number of overlords and talk about the extermination. It will be in two weeks."

I nodded and said, "noted I'll make sure these get to the other overlords, I assume you'll be calling Zestial personally?"

Carmilla shook her head and said, "actually I think its high time you met my dearest friend, hand them out however you see fit just make sure they are all handed out by the end of the day, and as a reward I'll send a new shipment of anti-angelic body armor your way and even make sure the other overlords and kingpins know that your turf is technically part of my turf so no one else can try to claim it.

I cackled and said, "very well it would be good to finally not have to deal with wannabe overlords trying to take over"

Carmilla smiled and said, "also Satsujin I want to tell you I am thankful you're your services these last couple years, not only have my profits been skyrocketing but the amount of gangs who want a piece of my turf have gone down considerably! And my daughters they are as lethal as their mother thanks to your training."

I smiled and said, "as you said many exterminations ago, my word is my bond and I swore to serve you however I can and until a day comes where I am no longer needed I will continue to serve you, Lady Carmilla"

Carmilla smiled at me as I put my skull mask back on and said, "go now Satsujin Hawkin, kingpin of New Hokkaido and enforce my message!"

Laughing I unsheathed Wado Urumasa and sliced open a portal to the vee's tower first saying, "your wish is my command my lady" before stepping though the portal into the vee's tower office.

Had to admit The vee's did have some style with this board meeting room especially with the demon sharks circling the meeting room it looked classy. I was then approached by a very confused Robo fizz.

Holding up four letters I said, "let the Vees know that Carmilla carmine is summoning all of hell's sovereign overlords for a meeting tomorrow on her turf, attendance is mandatory and if they do not show, I will…enforce their attendance."

The robo fizz bowed and I left sending letters to the other overlords before arriving in cannibal town where I wait patiently for Rosie.

A cannibal maid approached me bowing saying, "shall I get you some tea, m'lord?"

I nodded and said, "if you have any Darjeeling First Flush, I will take that along with a dash of honey in it, and don't let lord Rosie know I am here, I want her to figure it out for herself."

The cannibal nodded and left, soon returning with my tea and some lemon squares that I ate as I waited for rosie.

Rosie didn't seem to notice me sitting down in her chair till she turned around and gave a slight scream before sweating nervously as she said, "oh! K-king pin Hawkins! Eeerrrrr I mean Satsujin to what do I owe the pleasure of Carmilla Carmine's top enforcer being here!"

I got up and handed her a letter and said, "lady Carmilla is ordering a meeting in two weeks for all known overlords about this year's execution and the one coming in six months and she wants you present."

Rosie shook a bit as she took the letter from me and said, "thank you Satsujin I- I'll be in attendance I promise!"

Using Wado Urumasa I opened a portal to the next section of the pentagram to find Zestial next and as I left, I said, "oh and Rosie, about veronica."

Rosie turned to me and defensively said, "don't you dare hurt that girl Satsujin I do not care if your one of Carmilla carmine's top assassins or a kingpin you hurt her I will kill you!"

I chuckled as I unfurled the single wing I had and said, "funny I was about to say the same thing, my sister loves to visit this district a lot, and I trust you to keep her safe got it"

Rosie seemed a bit shocked as I left saying, "wait Veronica is your sister!"

As I stepped through the portal, I felt on edge all of a sudden like death was upon me, taking a deep breath in I walked around the area till I came across a mausoleum that lady Carmilla said belonged to Zestial.

"hello? My name is Satsujin Hawkins, Lady Carmilla sent me to send you an invite" I said a bit confused.

I felt like I was being watched and unholstered my twin angelic magnums saying, "this is the side of the pentagram owned by Zestial is it not?"

No response.

I sighed and said, "look I didn't come here to talk to ghosts Lady Carmilla is a busy woman and I have turf to manage so I will"

Before I could say anything though a figure formed and I pointed my guns as a man in a huge black cloak wearing a tilted black hat formed and said, "ahh so your Carmilla enforcer, the one other overlord seem to fear, well I must say there is a lot to fear but not for me as I know you won't turn that on people unless provoked"

"Zestial, I assume?" I asked.

The demon bowed before forming a cup of tea and a plate and said, "the one and only, I will heed lady Carmilla's call however there are two overlords you still need to deliver letters too, both of whom are currently at your estate."

Confused I said, "I only know that lazy thana is at my estate who else is there?"

Zestial chuckled and said, "the overlord embodiment of greed, she who has devoured hundreds of souls and has enslaved even more, she calls herself Monarch…she waits for you at your estate."

Sighing I said, "great another overlord, very well I thank you Zestial and we eagerly await you at the meeting in two weeks" before using Wado Urumasa to open a portal back home where Thana was groaning.

"whats wrong?" I asked.

Thana pointed at one of the security screens and said, "she's been banging at the door asking to speak to you for 2 hours!"

Looking at the screen I saw a demon with pure white skin, long horns, long red hair and a really elegant tail wearing a poofy white and black jacket with red accents and a set of large sun glasses banging on the door to my estate.

Getting on the intercom I said, "security who let her pass the front gate?"

A merc then answered and said, "sorry boss most of the mercs had been bought off to allow her to get closer to the main estate!"

Clenching my hand, I used my will to give my mercenaries major headaches before using the intercom to say, "oi lady who are you?"

The lady looked up calmly and said, "a woman who wishes to make an investment into your business."

Shrugging I let the laid in and let her introduce herself. She was about to break out into song but I cut her off and said, "no, no,no we do not do that here!"

Calmly the lady said, "My name is Monarch I am an Overlord who deals with the financial stability of the rings of hell this includes funding to other overlords, other rings and even the higher powers like the Ars Goetia and I am here to offer you riches beyond your wildest dream in exchange for your Wado Urumasa"

My eye twitched as the Monarch laid the huge gold ingot on the table, it was huge! I mean I could fund loads of projects down here with that kind of gold hell. I could even open up my own factories here and not rely on vox tech to keep my stuff running.

"so what do you say? Would you give up Wado Urumasa to me in exchange for this huge amount of gold" Monarch said.

Thana tried to grab Wado saying, "hell yeah! With this I could upgrade my booze stash and!"

But before she could finish that sentence, I bopped Thana on the head and said, "don't even think of it you damn booze hound! theres no deal here"

This surprised Monarch who looked at me and said, "wait did- did you say no! how dare you do you have any idea how valuable this gold is! I am offering you pure fortune!"

I then said, "yeah this isn't going to cut it, look wad urumasa isn't just any ordinary teleporting knife, it is quite literally a gift from the Ars Goetia so if you want it you'll have to offer me 100% of your soul or bring down your offer to something more reasonable"

This seemed to fluster Monarch who said, "n-no one has ever told me no! not even the other overlords! They all love my wealth! Do you have any idea who I am! I am Monarch, the sinner's embodiment of greed and wealth! The richest bitch in the pentagram! I could"

I cut her off leaning forward saying, "you could do what? March an army here into my turf? Fat chance I am protected by Stolas of the Ars Goetia, Beelzebub of the Gluttony ring and Lady Carmilla Carmine, I have an army of angelic weapon wielding mercenaries who can kill from the shadows, we have killed hundreds of angels, you only live cause I let you, your on my turf bitch make one wrong move and I will end you like a sick dog begging for a mercy killing! Capeesh!"

Monarch seemed to blush at this, was she blushing at how assertive I was, or did she think I was attractive? It mattered not as with a defeated sigh she said, "very well Mr. Satsujin what terms would you like, we shall negotiate more reasonable terms that benefit us both"

I smiled and said, "good, firstly I know all about you already Monarch, you're a big time investor and capital like yours goes a long way, I want you to stop funding the Vees firstly minus Veronica Hawkins, my sisters contract is to remain undisturbed okay?"

Monarch snapped her fingers and an imp rushed forward and started taking notes as she said, "continue."

"Funding wise anything going to the vees redirect it towards new Hokkaido our town is thriving yes but I want to innovate make it something that could rival even the vee's entertainment district and Tokyo on earth" I said twirling the dagger.

Monarch pulled out a clipboard of her own and said, "doing that would require termination of the contracts with the vees which is possible, nothing else will change there and what else?"

"Lastly your soul I will own 30% of it" I said.

Monarch blushed a little saying, "well no one has ever owned even a tiny fraction of my soul but can I ask why?"

I laid back a bit and said, "look I can't give you Wado Urumasa, its bound to me, but what I can do is loan it to you, you tell me where you need to go I travel with you and then travel back, however I need to insure I don't get screwed over so I'll write up a contract and in return for 30% of your soul along with the other terms, the belladonna fangs will act as your personal security service free of charge, any time you need my help I will be there and you can count on me as a friend sound fair?"

Monarch thought it over for a bit and said, "damn you drive a hard bargain Satsujin but I accept your deal" before shaking my hand.

As we shook, I felt myself get a bit mor powerful and Monarch blush a bit as she removed her glasses and said, "I have to admit when I came here I thought it would be easy, exchange a large um of gold and get what I want, but you put me in my place, that's kinda hot"

I chuckled and said, "well I guess after having to bend the knee to someone else I got sick of it and dint want to bend the knee again."

This offended Monarch as she said, "oh and I don't intimidate you!"

I laughed and said, "compared to my boss I know I can beat you easily!"

Monarch sighed in defeat and said, "so what's this about a meeting though?"

I pulled out the invitations bonking Thana on the head again to wake her up and said, "Lady Carmilla is having a meeting with all of hells overlords and myself to discuss the exterminations and the current status with the angels."

Monarch sighed and said, "well this should be interesting I lost a lot of my sugar babies when the extermination happened, and I need to know what will happen next."

Thana groaned and said, "uuuuggghhh I'm to tired for this do I have to go!"

I looked at her and said, "I'll restock your entire liquor cabinet."

On command Thana woke up and shouted, "what are we waiting for!"

I flicked her forehead and said, "you must be half asleep cause the meeting isn't for two weeks."

Thana rolled on the floor grabbing her forehead and rolling left to right dramatically screaming as Monarch said, "soooo I'll start moving my assets over do you have a place?"

I nodded and wrote down the address and said, "here you go." Before going over to my antique cabinet and pulled out an elegant cigarette holder and handed it to Monarch.

"what's this?" Monarch asked curiously.

"Think of it as a gift for joining the group, it's an antique cigarette holder" I chuckled.

Monarch blushed a bit and said, "oh- oh my! Thank you!"

Relaxing we watched hell news 666 and watched the princess of hell give her little song about starting her happy hotel to rehabilitate sinners which seemed really impressive, yet she didn't have results. This wasn't good at all.

Sighing I leaned back and drank some scotch as Thana and Monarch laughed like crazy at Charlie and Katie Killjoy fighting and I said, "the princess really needs to figure out how she's gonna run things…"

Monarch looked at me worried and said, "Satsu as an angel is it possible?"

I shrugged and said, "it would fall upon the seraphims to decide…knowing Emily she'd be all for it, its sarah who would be against it…"

Thana looked at me with a giggle and said, "you think it may be possible though?"

I nodded and said, "if she has a fool proof plan then yes, she cant just try and make people act happy and expect them to act better…and that person she has at her hotel angel dust…"

Thana looked a bit happy and said, "I'm glad angel did find someone to help him get clean…Val's always been hard on angel and even trying to defend him has been rough"

I raised my eyebrow and said, "if he manages to act different, he could become an angel but he has to believe it whole heartedly cause if he wavers heaven will shit him out"

Monarch then looked at me confused and said, "wait then why did you get into heaven?"

"Heaven needed me as a replacement for Adam, my service record and moral compass made me a good candidate, but Adam's philosophy brainwashed most of the exorcist…I failed before I could even begin…" I sighed.

More time would go by and With the funding from Monarch New Hokkaido increased in population and started to become a truly modern hell city with neon lights signs tall skyscrapers and some of the fastest construction workers ever, neon lights billboards, tram cars and hundreds of malls and eateries opened up to the point where New Hokkaido felt more and more like Shibuya and Shinjuku with how clustered it was with food and neon lights. In the back of my mind, I knew if it weren't for our own factories that produced our TVs and shit Vox would become more powerful just from New Hokkaido alone! Sadly, the news that the next extermination was now coming in 6 months did make me nervous as it meant we could see more and more sinners dying which means less mercenaries and a greater risk that my sister could be targeted for extermination.

I even upgraded my own little estate to be the tallest of them all so I could look out over my city with a smile.

It was still the same relaxing atmosphere as before but now filled with neon lights, sure demons still flocked to the Vees for all their porn and shit, but people also came to new Hokkaido for the experience, and also for Veronica who became a big idol in New Hokkaido. The fact that new Hokkaido was loved by both sinners and hellborns put me in crosshairs of a prince I didn't want to deal with, Mamon.

As I meditated within my koi pond, I got a call from one of my mercenaries that said, "Um Lord Satsujin…the prince of greed is here to see you"

I sighed and said, "let him in" as I got up and got ready.

Mamon let himself in and the giant clown fucker looked at me and said, "ahhhh so you're the mercenary who's been making headways! Satsujin Hawkins if I remember correctly? Your friends with Beelzebub"

I nodded my head and said, "yes I am, to what do I owe the pleasure of having the prince of greed in new Hokkaido?"

The demon laughed and said, "well I was just curious about setting up ventures in here! maybe make some nice entertainment districts or- or even charge people to come here!"

I laughed and said, "as much as I would love to have another prince endorsing me I must decline as new Hokkaido still falls within jurisdiction of lord Lucifer Morningstar I may be the kingpin of this turf and this turf technically belongs to my boss overlord carmine but this is lucifers ring still so its his call"

This angered Mammon who said, "you dare tell me no! do you know who I am! What I am capable of!"

Unfurling my single wing and pulling out my angelic barrett I said, "and do you know who I am? Do you know the people who see me as ally and friend! You fight me you fight one of your fellow princes, a member of the Ars Goetia and most of the overlords of the pride ring!"

Mammon looked shocked and said, "tch, well now someone's got balls very well I will refrain from interfering in this area but just know you fucked up cause I am a damn good business partner to have!" before vanishing.

Monarch walked in smoking and said, "ara ara~ I knew you were good at holding your ground cutie but being able to stand up to Mammon~ that's quite the feat!"

I chuckled and said, "Mammon doesn't exactly scare me, I've dealt with worse in the living world so how was your trip to the Greed ring anyways?"

Monarch chuckled and said, "well let's just say it went well~ thank you helping me get there"

I smiled and said, "you helped bring this city up to the forefront of entertainment we even have the likes of the vees struggling to compete with, I think its time you me and Thana form our own syndicate."

Thana walked in a bit tired and said, "what's this I here about forming a group?"

I chuckled and said, "you heard right, with my mercenaries, the funding from Monarch, and the info gathered from Thana we could truly become a powerful alliance!"

Thana chuckled and said, "what would we even call our group?"

Tapping my chin I went over to my liquor cabinet and pulled out my good scotch and said, "how about the Northern Dawn?"

Monarch took a puff from her cigarette and said, "I think I can get behind that name, I like it!"

Thana smiled and said, "I like it too! Consider it official!" and we clanked our glasses together to celebrate our new alliance.
