Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, in the very ruins of where Metropolis once stood, an impossible decision was made. The Legion, The Republic, The Insurgency, and of all parties, The Regime, came to an agreement to work together until Brainiac was defeated, no doubt motivated by the joint loss of Superman, Spyro, and Cynder. The arrangement would be possible without the intervention of the mysterious Black Diamond though. But rest assured, once Brainiac is dealt with, it's back to business as usual between these factions. But now we just have to know, will this work out at all? How is this sort of thing going to be handled? Read on to start finding out...

(Our scene picks up in Legion HQ, where Blaze is once again writing in her journal, no doubt chronicling the bizarre occurrence she just got done with between the good factions and the Regime. The entry reads in this fashion:)

"I can't believe I'm about to say this, but we're... we're... Ancestors, it's even hard to put to paper! But we are indeed about to start working with the former One Earth Regime as a means to take out Brainiac and his Society. Well, I say Society, but at this point it's just Brainiac and Grodd. Not really much of a threat when compared to the Regime or Darkblood's Empire. But, regardless, here we are. And we wouldn't be here without the intervention of this Black Diamond character. And all of that leads me to ask, what's his stake in all of this? Where did he come from? Why is he involved now? So many questions about one guy. If he's going to be part of this, I need to learn more about him. But for now, I really just have to make sure the rest of the Legion, as well as the Republic and the Insurgency, are really on board with all of this."

(Now the scene shifts to reveal the full meeting of the three factions, as well as Black Diamond and Cheetah)

Blaze: Well, looks like we've got a lot to talk about from the last day or so. Firstly, I want to address the elephant in the room.

Batman: This deal with the Regime?

Blaze: No, the guy who led us to this point. (To Black Diamond) Who are you exactly? And what's your stake in all this?

Black Diamond: (Slightly confused) What do you mean, my stake in all this?

Blaze: Who's side are you on?

Black Diamond: My side is the side of justice. I take no side in this superhuman feud, if that's what you're implying. I simply wished to bring up the point that you had a common enemy, and before the petty squabble can continue, they must be dealt with.

Flash: Petty squabble? You must be new around here. You don't know what the Regime has done to this world.

Black Diamond: It doesn't sound good, from your reactions.

Blaze: Trust me, it's not. If you're going to be part of this, you need to know that.

Black Diamond: As I said, I am not here to be part of this superhuman feud. I came here to track down a rogue Gem. My brother, Vermillion Diamond.

Blaze: (Recognizing the color in the name) Does this guy have the ability to control time by chance?

Black Diamond: He does. I see I came to the right place.

Blaze: Boy did you ever. He's working with another faction, The Empire. (Comes up with an idea) And if we're working with the Regime, even if it's on a temporary basis, to take out Brainiac, we'll need somebody keeping an eye on the Empire to make sure they don't make a power play.

Black Diamond: I will seek out this Empire, but on my own terms.

Blaze: Honestly, that's fair enough. Just keep us up to date. I kind of have a history involving the leader of that faction.

Black Diamond: I will do what I can.

Blaze: Thanks. Now then, back to our deal with the Regime.

Cheetah: Don't tell me you're honestly going to trust Diana.

Blaze: I trust her about as far as I can throw her. This whole alliance is just a means to an end. Once Brainiac is done for, we'll turn the tables and take the Regime down in one fell swoop. Damian, Victor, Adam, Diana, all of the ones we could never get.

Belial Aether: Seems a little ruthless. I like it.

Blaze: In the meantime, we'd better start coming up with a plan.

(While these three factions plan, our focus shifts to Kahndaq, where Wonder Woman is leading the discussion amongst the Regime)

Robin: You don't honestly trust them, do you?

Wonder Woman: No, Damian. Not even remotely.

Black Adam: Yet you were still willing to work with them.

Wonder Woman: They're a means to an end. Once we have Brainiac out of the way, all of those factions will be easier to deal with. They'll be exhausted. And we'll have just the ace in the hole.

Cyborg: What's the plan then?

Wonder Woman: Think you can get the Phantom Zone projector working again?

Cyborg: (Knowing where she's headed almost instantly) Like cracking an iPhone password.

Wonder Woman: Excellent. Get it running as soon as possible. We're going to need our lost asset recovered.

Cyborg: I know just the one.

(With that, Cyborg pulls up a holographic screen, revealing the asset Wonder Woman is talking about. Doomsday)

Wonder Woman: Even the dragons don't stand a chance against us with him back in play.

(And on that dire revelation, our tale concludes for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for now. So, as we suspected, neither side fully trusts the other. But I'm not sure anybody would have suspected that Wonder Woman would be willing to release Doomsday as a countermeasure against Blaze and company. But then again, this Wonder Woman is far more ruthless than the normal one is. So, next time, the joint planning finally begins. What do they come up with? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
